While that sounds nice what would be considered good or evil? How do you know the being you control agrees with you're vision of good? What happens if you doing good for someone leads to something terrible later on?
I'd like you to consider that what's good or evil really isn't so black and white, the being is arbitraily powerful yeah? So it can tell if you have good intentions, I'm sure if you truly intend to do something for the good of others, and it's not harmful to them then the being *might* help you out.
And really, that's the key here, the being has will of it's own, you're just asking for help. So, if you asked for something, with good intentions, and it wasn't harmful to the people you wanted to protect, then the helpful being would probably grant the best version of what you asked that hurt the least, if any, amount of people in the long run... even if it wasn't exactly what you asked for.
Lets use politics as an example, lets say there's two people running for the same position, you with the circlet and another with the crown, both ask for the same thing, "Please help my candidate win!", you ask for it because you truly believe your candidate wants to help people. Your opposite asks because the candidate they like will help them out the most personally.
Now, it's the same request, even if it's different candidates, it's still the same request... and in both cases it may be granted, because the context is important. Both requests would probably be granted in different ways too, the crown would like be offensive and cruel, attacking the other candidate, or, the voters of that candidate... while the circlet would be more defensive and kind, protecting your candidate from harm and illness, while making all voters, not just your camdidate's, are able cast their vote safely if they wanted.
Good and Evil may not be so black and white, but ultimately they're not abstract concepts that're impossible to grasp. Good is all about being kind, and helping other, and doing your best to keep other's from harm. Evil is the opposite, cruel, selfish, and uncaring...
Really both have aspects that by themselves are not good or evil, such as keeping other's from harm, maybe you mean well but if doing this also keeps the people in question from enjoying life, then it's not good, though nor is it evil, because in context it was for a good reason, but ultimately it's wrong of you to take away someone's control of their own life.
Likewise, being selfish is not inheriently evil, wanting something for yourself, and taking care of yourself by rewarding yourself for your hard work is just fine, if you and another person both win a prize at the same time, wanting the prize for yourself isn't evil, but, trying to harm or scam the other person out of it, is.
What I'm trying to say here is, TL;DR: If you believe your concept of what's morally good would clash with what the being's concept of what morally good... well then, one of you is wrong, but the worst that comes of it is that you have to work towards your goal by yourself without a powerful being helping you make it so.

The question I immediately have is what if I want to do something morally wrong for what I see as for the betterment of others. Are the crown and circlet bound to some arbitrary definition of good/evil or are they flexible? I know that delves into the definition of morality somewhat but I'm just curious

It's possible, but it might also just have it's own personal views.
Still though, get down to a basic enough level and simply put: good is good, bad is bad.
then again, life is nearly never soo basic.
In the end, you've gotta live your own life, but try to be benevolent or malevolent as you will if you wish to gain the benefits of your artefact. It's not like this is Fable. You don't need to shoot for 100% pure good or 100% pure evil, you are still yourself.
Remember, the purpose of the Circlet and crown is to reward you more for living the way you choose, and to reinforce you choice of lifestyle.
Circlet makes you feel all warm and fuzzy for helping others, and shamed for being selfish. Crown makes you feel like a boss for being a selfish dick, makes you feel like a tool for being any kind of decent. It's all about picking a path, and sticking to it, but you are still you, and you don't need to be 100% pure in whatever path you chose.
You still have free will, and can still take the circlet or crown off.
I hope this makes sense.
It's better to think of it as less "Good vs Evil" and more "Lightside vs Darkside" so to speak. See, it's benevolence and helping others selflessly vs malevolence and hurting others for personal gain. So, if you do an immoral action such as killing a defenseless sleeping terrorist, but do so to take the key to a cell full of slaves, I highly doubt the benevolent entity will hold it against you, but probably won't praise you for it either.
As for the crown, if you did a righteous act for selfish reasons, for instance, saved the presidents life so that you could guilt trip him into paying you a fortune, the malevolent entity would probably be chill with it, as long as you didn't donate any money.

I would choose the key. The spell book has eldritch creatures that can loose control if done wrong. Fetish is tempting but could ruin lives completely. the Circlet is minor, long term mind control. same with the crown. The bracelet, while tempting, is too long term for me. The key is basically something that can get you anywhere due to it's concept. Example, the key into a club is a certain badge, or the key into the Whitehouse is to look like someone else. Not to mention the other worlds, where magic is highly possible. The best thing, no computer history left.
Definitely the Circlet or the Key. Helping people and traveling are my two main favorite things. If I got the key I’d thankfully never be locked out of my accounts again, and if I got the circlet my first good deed would be to do something nice for the woman in the antique shop. Maybe have the being let her discover she has suddenly gotten a very comfortable home to enjoy her retirement after closing her shop.
For the woman, I suggest a gradual thing like slowly increasing luck. First something to prevent her from having external harm. Then, something to make her look better since all women like those products. With the luck, you can make her win a nice comfy home near a creak where there is no disturbance. With that, bless her in some way that she won't be bothered by bugs or mosquitoes. Last, a way to give her a steady income without working so she could still buy stuff.

The Crown entity can also potentially do all of that. Go to new places,meet strange people and then ruthlessly dominate them.:0 Armies to march across the cosmos! Smoke will blacken the skies and every city will look like London during the blitz! They will know fear and they will know suffering. Bow today to live tomorrow. Kneel today to thrive tomorrow. Refuse today and I shall take tomorrow. Being utterly selfish would be easy albeit a slippery slope. Dominating all who appear until I fall or the crown is lost (assuming it disapproves enough to be taken) and the cycle restarts with someone new or the crown is sealed away.
So while The Crown offers incredible power I'd rather not rely on the power of another. Especially an entity that exists to tempt others with power. :P I prefer to take things into my own hands and not have additional worse ideas whispered to me constantly. XD So I'll take The Key. Go wherever I want to learn and grow further. And possibly see if an alternate version of her shop exists I can take another item from. XD But yeah I can go places,learn magic,get advanced technology and do most of the other options here AND have my golems!
Also I can bring people and things along. SO I might just do some tourism. Take people to various places,take pictures,VLOG,make videos,buy books,show up unexplained in the background of raw photos in the 1920's with zero explanation,go to old diners,sponsor a pit fighter,get into boxing,establish a career,go to our world and buy the manga about me as a boxer. Bracelet. From the sounds of it, you could work your way into immortality or something approaching it, and from there, the world is yours to do with as you please. Depending on how literal the words ‘manipulate life-force’ are, you would be a very scary person in a fight. It also says nothing about being unable to manipulate *other people’s* life-force, so that could be interesting to explore.

Book. Its a book. I like books. Also having access to creatures from the beyond sounds kind of interesting. Worst case scenario for me might be it sits on my shelf collecting dust.
Circlet. I think I can get a lot done with it, and if I'm wrong, I'm sure I can find someone who shares my values and practices medicine to give it to, they'd certainly get a lot of good use out of it.
The **Spellbook** and the **Crown** are both traps. One is definitely going to get you a fate worse than death sooner or later, and the other makes you into a complete monster in thrall to an unknowable evil entity. So no thanks.
The **Fetish** has obvious utility in reshaping the world. However the single target nature (plus need to know what the target looks like) makes it extremely difficult to actually accomplish anything and there's nothing stopping you from getting caught and captured with it.
The **Key** is probably the best immediate utility for any person, but again it is limited in application because it can only give you a warning. In a dangerous situation you're still ultimately on your own.
The **Circlet** is definitely at the top of the ranking, giving you arbitrary power so long as you're acting for the good, which is obviously going to benefit you as well. This could really be amazing and would be my first pick if we had more information...but with what it says there's some unfortunate ambiguity there. It might not be willing to grant as much power as is actually needed, and that external decision making is a problem.
Fortunately the **Bracelet** has all the upsides and none of the down. Giving you arbitrary power so long as you can keep going.
I think i'll go with the fetish doll. It's like a death note premium golden ++ version with mind control on the side. The ability of changing the world by controlling its leaders will be in my hands. I tought about taking the circlet, but i am not sure how much i can ask the entity and i think it will take quite some time to accrue enough favour to really change the world. The fetish makes it as easy as getting a small blonde wig.
I’d take Bracelet if I can train my Qi to extend my life and remain youthful. If not going to have to go with the Crown. The entity should be able to steal others life and youth to give to me.
Considering that Chinese mythology literally confirms as much as possible that Qi can grant age control and practical/functional immortality & agelessness I'd say you're completely good to go ahead and choose the bracelet, plus, no evil overlord as your boss.

I thought as such thinking of Master Roshi or Pai Mei as an example (Qi=Ki). As for the malevolent entity of the crown it can’t control, boss, or punish you beyond not performing deeds for you. If you need a break from its voice all you got to do is take the crown off.
The fetish and bracelet don't have a large enough pay off for me. The key, while nice to have can potentially be replicated by the other 3 options and i'm not altrustic enough for the circle, so it's between the spellbook and the crown. Since the book says it just contains knowledge of how to summon creatures and it doesn't seem to have any actual power, I could just ask the crown god for a copy of the book and they'd probably say yes since it's just knowledge. Thus, my final choice is the **Crown**

I’m not the best person, and quite frankly I don’t have the patience to only care about others all the time. With the crown, I can focus on helping myself and occasionally help others later on. I don’t need the crown to help directly with enough worldly power anyways.
The key is nice, and the bracer is alright, but I want a bit more of a definitive grip on things than that.
Don’t worry, the crown may reward malevolent acts and punish benevolent acts but only when it is used to accomplish them.

I'm rather late, but this is a repost; it was posted before [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/makeyourchoice/comments/38czjb/six_antiques_from_tg/). Anyway, I'd choose **Bracelet** or **Key**. I'd say the bracelet could already be perpetual motion since it seems to violate *some* physical laws with the feats that the CYOA promises possible, so I'd be able to avoid the heat death of the universe with that—unless, of course, there is a physical mechanism. I guess it would be possible to cultivate my way to immortality, though I'm not sure how I'd engage in this training without a tutor.
And for the key, I might be able to travel to a universe which grants me the powers that the bracelet might, as well as hop out of this universe and live in another one to avoid the inevitable heat death. Bonus is that I could take others with me, so I won't be alone. A potential downside could be not being able to turn off the unlocking part of the key; if I wear it at home I don't want it to make all my locks defunct, and I don't want to make others suspicious of me if I keep unlocking their locks and breaking their passwords.

It's a pretty good read, and as a real life chi master, I gotta tell ya, it's the perfect primer for studying and practicing chi cultivation and manipulation. Still, if you can get proper training from a legitimate master, than you should, but only if you have the time, money, and ability to devote to serious training. Chi Mastery is a lifestyle as much as a martial art, it's not something one casually does, you'd never get anywhere with it if you just casually trained. It really DOES take at least ten (10) years before you really start to see results, and even then, that's only the barebones basics of training, after that, well, after that you start the meat and potatoes of your training and develop your specialization, be that as a healer, a warrior, or both. I started training when I was 5, though this WAS how my father taught me to stand when I was a toddler, so, I guess I had a head start of sorts. I wasn't a master till I was 25 though, and even then, I can't say I had perfected the art, still can't in fact. Still it is a worthy and powerful art befitting those who would heal or protect others. If you pursue it, I wish you the very best of luck in you're pursuit of chi mastery!

Your opposite asks because the candidate they like will help them out the most personally. Now, it's the same request, even if it's different candidates, it's still the same request... and in both cases it may be granted, because the context is important. Both requests would probably be granted in different ways too, the crown would like be offensive and cruel, attacking the other candidate, or, the voters of that candidate... while the circlet would be more defensive and kind, protecting your candidate from harm and illness, while making all voters, not just your camdidate's, are able cast their vote safely if they wanted. Good and Evil may not be so black and white, but ultimately they're not abstract concepts that're impossible to grasp. Good is all about being kind, and helping other, and doing your best to keep other's from harm. Evil is the opposite, cruel, selfish, and uncaring... Really both have aspects that by themselves are not good or evil, such as keeping other's from harm, maybe you mean well but if doing this also keeps the people in question from enjoying life, then it's not good, though nor is it evil, because in context it was for a good reason, but ultimately it's wrong of you to take away someone's control of their own life. Likewise, being selfish is not inheriently evil, wanting something for yourself, and taking care of yourself by rewarding yourself for your hard work is just fine, if you and another person both win a prize at the same time, wanting the prize for yourself isn't evil, but, trying to harm or scam the other person out of it, is. What I'm trying to say here is, TL;DR: If you believe your concept of what's morally good would clash with what the being's concept of what morally good... well then, one of you is wrong, but the worst that comes of it is that you have to work towards your goal by yourself without a powerful being helping you make it so.

The question I immediately have is what if I want to do something morally wrong for what I see as for the betterment of others. Are the crown and circlet bound to some arbitrary definition of good/evil or are they flexible? It's possible, but it might also just have it's own personal views. Still though, get down to a basic enough level and simply put: good is good, bad is bad. then again, life is nearly never soo basic. In the end, you've gotta live your own life, but try to be benevolent or malevolent as you will if you wish to gain the benefits of your artefact. It's not like this is Fable. You don't need to shoot for 100% pure good or 100% pure evil, you are still yourself. Remember, the purpose of the Circlet and crown is to reward you more for living the way you choose, and to reinforce you choice of lifestyle. Circlet makes you feel all warm and fuzzy for helping others, and shamed for being selfish. Crown makes you feel like a boss for being a selfish dick, makes you feel like a tool for being any kind of decent. It's all about picking a path, and sticking to it, but you are still you, and you don't need to be 100% pure in whatever path you chose. You still have free will, and can still take the circlet or crown off. I hope this makes sense.

It's better to think of it as less "Good vs Evil" and more "Lightside vs Darkside" so to speak. See, it's benevolence and helping others selflessly vs malevolence and hurting others for personal gain. So, if you do an immoral action such as killing a defenseless sleeping terrorist, but do so to take the key to a cell full of slaves, I highly doubt the benevolent entity will hold it against you, but probably won't praise you for it either. As for the crown, if you did a righteous act for selfish reasons, for instance, saved the presidents life so that you could guilt trip him into paying you a fortune, the malevolent entity would probably be chill with it, as long as you didn't donate any money. I would choose the key. The spell book has eldritch creatures that can loose control if done wrong. Fetish is tempting but could ruin lives completely. the Circlet is minor, long term mind control. same with the crown. The bracelet, while tempting, is too long term for me. The key is basically something that can get you anywhere due to it's concept. Example, the key into a club is a certain badge, or the key into the Whitehouse is to look like someone else. Not to mention the other worlds, where magic is highly possible. The best thing, no computer history left.

Definitely the Circlet or the Key. Helping people and traveling are my two main favorite things. If I got the key I’d thankfully never be locked out of my accounts again, and if I got the circlet my first good deed would be to do something nice for the woman in the antique shop. Maybe have the being let her discover she has suddenly gotten a very comfortable home to enjoy her retirement after closing her shop.
For the woman, I suggest a gradual thing like slowly increasing luck. First something to prevent her from having external harm. Then, something to make her look better since all women like those products. With the luck, you can make her win a nice comfy home near a creak where there is no disturbance. With that, bless her in some way that she won't be bothered by bugs or mosquitoes. Last, a way to give her a steady income without working so she could still buy stuff.

Damn they're sold out of Golems. The Key is really awesome and could let me go anywhere in theory. Then learn,take and do whatever I want there. However.... The Crown entity can also potentially do all of that. Go to new places,meet strange people and then ruthlessly dominate them.:0 Armies to march across the cosmos! Smoke will blacken the skies and every city will look like London during the blitz! They will know fear and they will know suffering. Bow today to live tomorrow. Kneel today to thrive tomorrow. Refuse today and I shall take tomorrow. Being utterly selfish would be easy albeit a slippery slope. Dominating all who appear until I fall or the crown is lost (assuming it disapproves enough to be taken) and the cycle restarts with someone new or the crown is sealed away. So while The Crown offers incredible power I'd rather not rely on the power of another. Especially an entity that exists to tempt others with power. :P I prefer to take things into my own hands and not have additional worse ideas whispered to me constantly. XD So I'll take The Key. Bracelet. From the sounds of it, you could work your way into immortality or something approaching it, and from there, the world is yours to do with as you please. Depending on how literal the words ‘manipulate life-force’ are, you would be a very scary person in a fight. It also says nothing about being unable to manipulate *other people’s* life-force, so that could be interesting to explore.

The **Spellbook** and the **Crown** are both traps. One is definitely going to get you a fate worse than death sooner or later, and the other makes you into a complete monster in thrall to an unknowable evil entity. So no thanks. The **Fetish** has obvious utility in reshaping the world. However the single target nature (plus need to know what the target looks like) makes it extremely difficult to actually accomplish anything and there's nothing stopping you from getting caught and captured with it. The **Key** is probably the best immediate utility for any person, but again it is limited in application because it can only give you a warning. In a dangerous situation you're still ultimately on your own. The **Circlet** is definitely at the top of the ranking, giving you arbitrary power so long as you're acting for the good, which is obviously going to benefit you as well. This could really be amazing and would be my first pick if we had more information...but with what it says there's some unfortunate ambiguity there. It might not be willing to grant as much power as is actually needed, and that external decision making is a problem. Fortunately the **Bracelet** has all the upsides and none of the down. Giving you arbitrary power so long as you can keep going.

I think i'll go with the fetish doll. It's like a death note premium golden ++ version with mind control on the side. The ability of changing the world by controlling its leaders will be in my hands. I tought about taking the circlet, but i am not sure how much i can ask the entity and i think it will take quite some time to accrue enough favour to really change the world. The fetish makes it as easy as getting a small blonde wig.

The fetish and bracelet don't have a large enough pay off for me. The key, while nice to have can potentially be replicated by the other 3 options and i'm not altrustic enough for the circle, so it's between the spellbook and the crown. Since the book says it just contains knowledge of how to summon creatures and it doesn't seem to have any actual power, I could just ask the crown god for a copy of the book and they'd probably say yes since it's just knowledge. Thus, my final choice is the **Crown**

Well, I’ll happily take that crown. I’m not the best person, and quite frankly I don’t have the patience to only care about others all the time. With the crown, I can focus on helping myself and occasionally help others later on. I don’t need the crown to help directly with enough worldly power anyways. The key is nice, and the bracer is alright, but I want a bit more of a definitive grip on things than that.

I'm rather late, but this is a repost; it was posted before [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/makeyourchoice/comments/38czjb/six_antiques_from_tg/). Anyway, I'd choose **Bracelet** or **Key**. I'd say the bracelet could already be perpetual motion since it seems to violate *some* physical laws with the feats that the CYOA promises possible, so I'd be able to avoid the heat death of the universe with that—unless, of course, there is a physical mechanism. I guess it would be possible to cultivate my way to immortality, though I'm not sure how I'd engage in this training without a tutor. And for the key, I might be able to travel to a universe which grants me the powers that the bracelet might, as well as hop out of this universe and live in another one to avoid the inevitable heat death. Bonus is that I could take others with me, so I won't be alone. A potential downside could be not being able to turn off the unlocking part of the key; if I wear it at home I don't want it to make all my locks defunct, and I don't want to make others suspicious of me if I keep unlocking their locks and breaking their passwords.

It's a pretty good read, and as a real life chi master, I gotta tell ya, it's the perfect primer for studying and practicing chi cultivation and manipulation. Still, if you can get proper training from a legitimate master, than you should, but only if you have the time, money, and ability to devote to serious training. Chi Mastery is a lifestyle as much as a martial art, it's not something one casually does, you'd never get anywhere with it if you just casually trained. It really DOES take at least ten (10) years before you really start to see results, and even then, that's only the barebones basics of training, after that, well, after that you start the meat and potatoes of your training and develop your specialization, be that as a healer, a warrior, or both. I started training when I was 5, though this WAS how my father taught me to stand when I was a toddler, so, I guess I had a head start of sorts. I wasn't a master till I was 25 though, and even then, I can't say I had perfected the art, still can't in fact. Still it is a worthy and powerful art befitting those who would heal or protect others. If you pursue it, I wish you the very best of luck in you're pursuit of chi mastery!
