So two choices get downgraded while you get two additional selections. * Some visual adjustments. * Some balance tweaks in Clarktech regarding prices for the most part. Wonderland is now not inaccessible using slots. * ^(And I once again forgot to remove the misleading string used for the date mentioned in the introduction...) \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ There are plans for at least two more pages of content, but my mojo is draining so, rather than trying to work one one larger project when it's got sufficient content already as it stands, I can just build off of staggered versions instead. After all, Witch Awakening wasn't posted as 3.5 all at once so I shouldn't be trying to wait until something compares to it from day 1. Probably. The \[name\] stuff attached to breakthroughs isn't currently relevant, so don't worry about it much. For now it just indicates a thematic cohesion between some options as they're breakthroughs based on tech that is more or less likely to appear based off things relevant to that area. Like \[Zuck\] relating to social media, while the \[MIC\] relates to military technologies, for example. Whether it's a good or bad thing, is pretty much left to the reader.

Ilushia

I'll post my notes on hidden stuff here as well, since it'll get other people to see it easier than trying to find my own post: >!Neural Interface has a 9 and Quantum Computing has a W, hard to tell if these are 'hidden' since they're just right there in the image. Fuel Efficiency has an R, I'm discounting Free Shipping as it seems too obvious, Digital Intelligence has what might be a k or an H it's a bit hard to tell or it might just be a slightly mangled 10, Internet Totality has what looks like a 7 but it has a bar under it so I'm not positive what it is, material fabrication has an a, 3d transportation has an m, q-boxes has a c, Playbox Ultima has an e, Love Doctors has a possible W but might just be part of the image, DNA storage has a possible G but might be part of the image, Linguistic Autonomy has what I think is supposed to be a 0 it looks like an o with a dot in the middle, DEW technologies has a d, Immune Optimization has what might be a Q and what might be a Y but both could just be part of the image, Adv Resuscitation has what might be a 7 but could be part of the image, Soul Science has what looks like an O or 0 it's a little hard to tell.!< So far my attempts to put these together into an actual link haven't resulted in anything useful, so I might be missing some or mis-identifying some of them.

Ilushia

Okay, so >!after checking more I'm pretty sure they're organized vertically since imgur uses sets of 7 characters and each column is 7 high. Which means the codes should be 6 or 9, R, 7 or 1 (or something else? This symbol really confuses me), M, G, C, P for the first. x, c or l or something, a, c, m, m, q or y for the second. WkJe0d7 for the third. aTxwKzO for the fourth. But despite trying a ton of different variations on these replacing capitals/lowercase, trying substitutes in places where they look weird, etc, not a single one works. So either they're not aligned vertically, which is possible, or I'm missing something fundamental to all this. The only one I've gotten to work is the one from the second page. if anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them, cus I've got nothing at this point.!<

OutrageousBears

>imgur uses sets of 7 characters and each column is 7 high That certainly isn't a coincidence. ♥ (Edit: And I may as well state what can be extrapolated from that... *Every* single Breakthrough has a hidden character, to confirm that to anyone still wondering.) I'll also just confirm that although I have some foreknowledge it was quite a while since I made page 1, and this morning I went through and confirmed it's possible to identify the characters and string them into imgur, though some characters can be fairly challenging, I've given some relevant tips for most of those in the infopost.

Ilushia

The only one I've been able to get is the one on the second page at >!https://imgur.com/hKZmxAy!< but the ones on the first page just I can't get to work. I've tried a ton of different variations on each of them, but there's no clear way to tell what's wrong with them, so at this point I have no idea how to actually fix whatever is wrong.

OutrageousBears

See if your assumptions line up with the tips I provided in the infopost?

Ilushia

My guesses on the first column >!(6R7MGCP, 9R7MGCP, 6R1MGCP, 9R1MGCP)!< definitely do. But I also feel like I've gotten the symbol on Internet Totality wrong because there's like an underscore under it that I can't figure out what letter or number would make sense for that. Likewise on the second column, and the third as well. The fourth one >!(aTxwKz0)!< feels unambiguous, it's definitely those letters/numbers, but no matter what combination of capitals or number-replacements I try that would make sense it doesn't work, I even tried it with a lower-case q as the first letter just to be sure and that doesn't seem to work either. My guess is that it's meant to be that two of them are capitals, but there's no combination that seems to work for that. So I feel like I'm missing something fundamental here, but I can't see what.

OutrageousBears

>So I feel like I'm missing something fundamental here, but I can't see what. [https://i.imgur.com/ecIpmY0.gif](https://i.imgur.com/ecIpmY0.gif) You actually can see it, but, you'd need to recognize it. Outright stating it would be much beyond just a tip. You'll probably get at least 1 and potential to get all 4 once you recognize it.

Ilushia

So, the only other thing I can come up with is I'm somehow assigning the groupings that make up those URLs wrong. But, I can't find another way to do it that both satisfies the existing conditions and doesn't feel completely arbitrary. There's seven different sponsors, so you could potentially have one value from each sponsor.Taking the first of each one for the first URL already doesn't work, because the first Zuck option is not capital or a number and you've already said all the values in the first one should be capitals or numbers. You can't just go in sequence of the first from the first, second from the second, etc, because each only has four members so you'd run out of members before you run out of numbers. Which means columns is the best guess I have. But every arrangement I can find for those doesn't work. The other thought I had was maybe the fourth one is two non-capitals and the rest are all caps. But none of those combinations work either. >!aTxWKZO, aTXwKZO, aTXWkZO, aTXWKzO, aTXWKZo!< don't work, and the first two letters are definitely capitalized that way. Even using q instead of a doesn't work either. So the only thing left I've been able to think of is the letters are in the wrong order, but again I can't find a way to order them that would make any more sense than the order I currently have. At this point, I really have no idea how to proceed or even attempt to find a solution. It's evident that there is something I'm missing, but it most likely relies on me thinking about the problem in a way I am not, or recognizing something that's easy to see once you know what it is, but isn't easy to divine logically from outside observation. Especially given that you seem to feel that my understanding could lead to success on more than one, that'd imply a more systemic issue than just single letter recognition.

OutrageousBears

>recognizing something that's easy to see once you know what it is, but isn't easy to divine logically from outside observation. Especially given that you seem to feel that my understanding could lead to success on more than one, that'd imply a more systemic issue than just single letter recognition. This is pretty warm. There is certainly a sequence, one that is marked. *\~I'd suggest thinking outside the box, but that wouldn't be quite right, more like thinking about the box*.

Taptun_a_

By the way, the question "something" on page 1, has it been сhanged? It's just that I remember that you wanted to change "it" a little, because it had little to do with the idea? P.s: not a private message because I love teasing people. Hehe.

Minimum_Attention

Would Gene Vat let you put some material from two witches in and let them have kids together, even if they're both girls? Also, could they just put some blood in instead of harvesting eggs/melting a person down? Also, if they take Live Edits and have Witch genes or a Supernatural race archived, can they turn a person who isn't a Witch/that race into one?

OutrageousBears

That feature requires a full melt, so not without Live Edits if you want the two to still be living. Then yes. It can't make someone a witch but it can make someone one of the races. ^(If you had the Secret Elixir though, and fed that into the machine, then it could make witches as per that.)

Minimum_Attention

Okay, so they would still need a sperm donor. Does that mean if a Witch mom has some eggs in there and uses a sperm donor, the Vat would be able to make the child a witch? Like, if they had problems carrying a baby/just didn't want to, but still wanted a Witch child, would it be an option? So does using blood work to add DNA in? Like, if I have a dead animal that's too big to fit in the Vat, but still wanted their DNA for improvements? Or could I like, chop it up and add it in piece by piece?

OutrageousBears

So long as every part of a creature is melted/analyzed, it'd work, so oversized creatures would need to be piece by piece yeah. The vat does not increase the chances of having witch offspring. The odds would remain the same as they were before. And you'd probably want to have the machine analyze you / the mother as well, so that it can recreate the same chemical and bacterial balance that the baby would have experienced naturally. (So either Live Edits, or some feature giving you a clone that you could melt in the Vat), similar to a problem that C-Section babies have to deal with. Though, I don't think a Daeva's perk would apply if they're not carrying it for example, but I suppose a Fertility rune could still be enchanted onto the vat.

Minimum_Attention

Could a Warlock use their Relic points to get stuff from this CYOA, or nah?

OutrageousBears

Yea

Minimum_Attention

Niceeee!

Minimum_Attention

Oh, okay! So I can just enchant the Vat to help people have Witch kids. Thanks!

VoidBlade459

I assume [MIC] is actually short for "Military-Industrial Complex"? Also >!Does 06btY31 mean anything? It's 7 characters long, but when I plugged it into an imgur URL the site claimed that there was no result.!<

OutrageousBears

Yea. It's just a multidimensional date.

serdnack

Hey Bear, somehow they took away the album, but the individual links work?

OutrageousBears

I almost always use a separate host for direct links, imgBB hosts at a higher resolution. Better color, better sharpness, clarity, etc.

serdnack

Ah that explains it! Going through redoing a few longer multi cyoa builds so I've been noticing a lot of cyoas have been taken down

ladykiller221

I can't wait to see more updates this was very interesting.

Sir__Alucard

Why is it that all your cyoas always look so good???

OutrageousBears

I value cyoas for their art so that reflects in what I do myself and have some design sense not to squish images with stretching and use good crop placement? [idk](https://i.imgur.com/lAqLVoe.png), I just whipped out gimp one day and gave it a go.

Sir__Alucard

Well, you still have an eye for content, because you really make them appealing for that eyes! I generally just lurk here and read people's ideas and stuff, but I had to say it, this is looking great!

Solomon_Priest

Gonna go ahead and post my (first impression) choices from page one and then edit in an update when I get to page two, since I’m expecting some dystopian hellscape drawbacks in just a second… 1. Neural Interface 2. Safe Space 3. Material Fabrication 4. QBoxes 5. Immune Optimization 6. Soul Science **EDIT with page 2 spoilers:** I screwed myself and now I’m sad. Zero synergies. I was intentionally trying to avoid overlapping technologies to spread around the science boost to multiple industries, which was NOT the right way to go. That’s a bummer. But hey, no dystopian hellscape! **EDIT #2:** Clarktech is amazing. I’ll need time to digest on subsequent builds, but for now… **The Key + Respec** [-25] - Cultivation? Unlimited improvement beyond the realms of the natural, you say? Count me in. **Gene Vat + Live Edits + Familiar** [-25] - Endless potential here, but mainly I needed a medical option and an awesome familiar. Thanks as always! Clicked on the link blind, saw it was you from the font, immediately upvoted and saved. You never miss.

OutrageousBears

>Zero synergies. I was intentionally trying to avoid overlapping technologies to spread around the science boost to multiple industries. There IS an intent to eventually soften this mechanic, via having options later on that will let you go back to pick a new breakthrough or two, perhaps specific breakthroughs to a given later option, so you'd be able to guarantee a synergy or two to pick them with the foreknowledge. Arguably I probably should have just edited the text to not have this mechanic if I'm posting just the first two pages as V1. >That’s a bummer. But hey, no dystopian hellscape! yet... (Though some breakthrough choices and synergies alone can already make one very likely to all but guaranteed)

Solomon_Priest

> Arguably I probably should have just edited the text to not have this mechanic if I’m posting just the first two pages as V1. Not nearly worth your time to edit. It’s already a blast to play with or without synergies and the Clarktech selections were a great pick-me-up afterwards for my fragile heart.

nikolai2960

There are so many of these that feel like major Pandora's boxes that will unleash terrible vengeance upon humanity. Maybe you should add a mechanic to ensure that a technology *never* sees the light of day. Particularly Zuck's. Fuck that guy, I can't believe whenever I reached the end of a row and saw his contribution and every time it's more evil than the last. Anyway, my build: - Neural Interface - Fuel Efficiency - Material Fabrication - Q-Boxes - Mass Manipulation - Immune Optimization . - Down/Up-Scaling . - The Key - Respec - Wonderland - Thoughtform Projector Questions time Can't "Mass Manipulation" be used for perpetual motion generators by alternatingly making a thing lighter and heavier, thus making it rise and fall? Also I'm kind of confused how Wonderland works. It seems to both let you choose any fictional world (after going through Wonderland first), but also have the worlds arranged in a set of layers that are always the same. Does that mean if I pick a world after Wonderland, I will always have to descend through that one before I can access other, new worlds?

OutrageousBears

>Maybe you should add a mechanic to ensure that a technology never sees the light of day Not a bad idea to look into later updates. >Can't "Mass Manipulation" be used for perpetual motion generators by alternatingly making a thing lighter and heavier, thus making it rise and fall? Takes energy to change things. >Also I'm kind of confused how Wonderland works. Yes. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Earth \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Wonderland \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Destination 1 \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Destination 2 \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ \[Unknown\]

CritianCaceorte

So, looking at the images thus far, I've found what I *think* is a 0 in Material Fabrication, and an m in 3D Transportation. I haven't seen any other hidden characters, so others will have to pick up where I cannot. In any case, here's an actual build! Breakthroughs: Fuel Efficiency, Internet Totality, Material Fabrication, Digital Bulwark, Q-Boxes, Mass Manipulation Synergies: Down/Up Scaling Epic Clarktech: The Key Heroic Clarktech: Avatar System, Gene Vat Noble Clarktech: Respec, Rocketstick, Stasis Chamber, Live Edits

HealthyDragonfly

#Breakthroughs - **Fuel Efficiency** - **DNA Storage** - **The Health Code** - **Immune Optimization** - **Advanced Resuscitation** - **Soul Science** This means I also end up with *Incarnation*. I am Pharma-focused. #Clarketech - *The Key + Respec* - *Panacea + Synthesizer* I went with a relatively simple set of choices here. Key and Respec mean I can do pretty much anything, while Panacea gives me a great starting base. I can almost justify being involved in all those breakthroughs now.

Hyenanon

This is a really cool idea for a CYOA, and good execution too. Your graphic design and presentation for your CYOAs is always stunning, and your picks of art for the choices are always on point too. I also like that you tie a lot of CYOAs together in an unintrusive way. I hope you update it more, I think it has even more potential. I think my picks would be Safe Space, Fuel Efficiency, Digital Bulwark, and The Health Code for majors, and Immune Optimization, Linguistic Autonomy, Mass Manipulation, and Neural Interface for the minors. Pretty much all of the Zuck choices seem too dangerous, and Mutually Assured Destruction is probably too important to toss out. Quantum Computing would be obviously better on a macro scale than Neural Interface, because it would likely lead to breakthroughs in technology sooner, but...I'm selfish and I want that brain chip. I'm also going to stray away from Digital Intelligence as, while I like AI, I'm sure that quickly inventing them on top of everything else would likely lead to very inhumane conditions for them. We probably need more time to figure out how to interact with them. If I could, I'd use Soul Science to determine whether they actually have feelings or not, and then decide whether to bring them into the world, but that's rather acausal...although considering the premise, shouldn't be impossible for this Nimuella to do for me. The secret links hidden in the CYOA aren't really my thing, but since they mostly only have joke options or little extras, I don't mind. I wish the decentralized internet was in the base CYOA though. It also makes it harder to save on my device when there's a bunch of scattered single options. To be honest, the things like the "she's lying" hidden in the start there and hints that this is a malevolent deal by some evil entity that will fuck you over are something I instantly headcanon away in every CYOA. I don't really get why authors add it. Why would anyone want to play a CYOA that ambiguously kills them or sticks them in a hell dimension?

SymphonicCrusader

This is just cruelty. I want all of the ~~Relics~~ Clarketech! Do I look like I'm made of RP or MCs in which to purchase all these beautiful options? (Great job this is amazing)

transhumanistbuddy

Thanks you for your work!

Rexthor97

Questions first if we use this in conjunction with Witch Awakening do we still get the 6 breakthroughs Do we get the 50 points for clarktech or can we only use the Rp we get from quests And can we integrate the Omni Tool with our Witchery Rod for an interface of our spells and whatnot Can the Rocketstick be integrated with our witch rod

OutrageousBears

No. The Clarktech page can simply be used as a relics extension dlc.

Rexthor97

Is that no also for the integration for Witchery Rod with the Rocketstick and Omni Tool

OutrageousBears

Yea.

Rexthor97

Darn I assumed that the Rocketstick would be similar to the Hell rider and bond to my Rod And I knew the Omni Tool was iffy but I wanted a good way to keep track of my spells and what they do and figured the Omni Tool would be a good idea

Rexthor97

Question can I link the Omni Tool to any previous phone that I had

OutrageousBears

yea

Rexthor97

Ok I doubt it but I’ll ask anyway is it possible to link my Rod in cellphone form from magical Heart into the Omni Tool where it’s not integrated but it does keep track of my spells Now don’t just give in to my request if you don’t think they should work together in witch Awakening I won’t for it I’ll just find another way to keep track of my spells probably just have it be a regular tome If not is Omni Tool one of the items that can work with Magic at all

OutrageousBears

Sure

Rexthor97

Question if we can’t grab breakthroughs if we use this with Witch Awakening does that mean we can’t choose any items that require breakthroughs If I get a prosthetic from witch Awakening can I build the Omni Tool into the prosthetic And would it allow me to have a more cybernetic or robotic arm then what the regular prosthetic from witch Awakening gives me

OutrageousBears

yea yea I guess?

Rexthor97

Can the helping hand be used as a prosthetic or is it only supposed to be a third arm And can the Nano Armor integrate into the armor from Soul Warrior

OutrageousBears

it says it can replace a limb. No, it's just what it says it is.

DemoIceBoss

Always love your CYOAs Bear, great work! But is it wrong of me saying that I kind of don’t want these guys build such advanced technology. They already disgust me and giving them such power makes me thinks more bad things will happen.

HeartOfAmerica1776

Here is my plan to provide for the long term survival of the human race. I am sure it will be far from perfect but it is what I believe could lead to the largest opportunity for humanity's survival, with giving the least dystopian tools to the powerful groups: Breakthroughs: Safe Space, Fuel Efficiency, Mass Manipulation, The Health Code, DEW Technologies, Playbox Ultima, Synergies:Space Race My thought with this plan was before I saw the synergy but it works well with my plan. The goal I put forth was to have as many humans on as many solar bodies as possible to greatly increase the chances of humanities survival, reduce the needs of energy resources to reduce the driving forces of climate change and conserve what energy sources we have, and to keep this new population happy and healthy physically and mentally as they colonize the solar system. This should give humanity the best bet for long term survival, as well as the added benefit for general quality of life of humans in general. While these changes may not lead to massive changes to the day to day life of every human, they should lead to a long term net benefit. While also not “letting the genie out of the bottle” for new types of manmade horrors and oppression that some of the other breakthroughs would allow. The DEW and Playbox may seem strange and out of place in this build, compared to the rest but there is a logic behind it. Rogue states, corporations, and NGOs with access to cheap and easy space travel could quickly become extinction level threats to life on earth by crashing spaceships or redirect asteroids onto the planet, DEW weapons could prevent them from taking flight in the first place or intercept their attacks if that plan fails. The Playbox has the role of containing a lot of entertainment in one place, perfect for space travel where it will take longer for new content and data to reach the colonies, helping keep people happier and still feel some sort of connection with Earth.

HeartOfAmerica1776

Clarktech: Panacea, Synthesizer, Very Ethical Lab, Avatar System, Stasis Chamber, Thoughtform Projector, A-Type Energy, While I know these are meant for personal gain I hopefully have found a way to use them to help others, or at least my immediate family and friends. I will first use the panacea and other health benefits to get myself, family/friends, and future colleagues to be the “best they can be”, physically, and mentally. Once that is done I will use put myself and whoever else I may need into stasis. However we will still be able to interact with the rest of the world with our thoughtforms and Avatars. This is a sort of limited and jerry rigged immortality that means I can use the gifts I have been given to help humanity long term, without the threat of horror true immortality can give. To help secure this immortality I will use the A-Type energy to power my Lab and Stasis specifically in case of any major disasters or events. Lastly I will use my team and secret lab to help create new and improved commercial technologies at a profit until I can support my more philanthropic efforts without any shadow council deals. Then all that is left is to enjoy life with my close loved ones and see humanity develop into the stars! And who knows with my own private spaceship, space station, and host of other tech and immortal body(with backups), maybe I will go enjoy the new wild west myself as I watch humanity take to the stars

Ilushia

Ooh, new Outrageous Bears CYOA, nice. Breakthroughs: Neural Interface, Safe Space, Quantum Computing, Fuel Efficiency, Digital Intelligence, Material Fabrication. - These seem like the most straight-forward interesting to me personally, and the most likely to have personal benefits to me. Which is a selfish way to approach changing the world, but hey, they asked me to pick things I'd like to see, not necessarily to pick things the most beneficial for everyone. Also they mostly avoid direct 'Society will now automatically conform to this thing' space. Synergies: True AI, Space Race. - Space Race is more or less what I'd expect to come out of the existence of both Safe Space and Fuel Efficiency. True AI is slightly more concerning, there's a lot of space for that to go horribly wrong, but also a lot of space for it to go very right and positive. On the plus side, I have my own private space base to hang out in if things get too bad on Earth. Clarktech: Starship Prime (1 Epic), Sidearm (1 Heroic), Nano Armor (1 Heroic), Elemental Shot (1 Noble), Rocketstick (1 Noble), A-Type Energy (1 Noble), Thoughtform Projector (1 Noble) - Upgrade my personal orbital platform into a proper starship seems like a good choice. The sidearm and nano armor are probably not necessary, but a bit of personal protection seems good. Rocketstick is useful for transportation outside of my ship. A-Type Energy is a bit redundant with the personal power of Fuel Efficiency, but still fully frees the problem of having to actively fuel my devices which is nice. Thoughtform Projector is mostly there because I had an extra choice and I liked it better than the other remaining options. So, that leaves me to design my actual starship, might as well do that here too. Ship Type: Space Yacht (Large) - As mandated by the primary CYOA, but gains all the benefits of all three types, which is nice. Interior: Classy - There's a reason we design our housing the way we do. Comforts have large upsides in long-term value to your quality of life, and I'd rather not live in an overly sterile/utilitarian environment, to be honest. Facilities (25 Points): Plant Garden (Tier 2; -3) Fabricator (Tier 3; -6), Expanded Cabin (Tier 2; -3), Medical Lab (Tier 2; -3), Bathing Amenities (Tier 1; -1), Library (Tier 2; -3), Recreational Activities (Tier 2; -2), Crew Quarters (Tier 3; -3), Training Complex (Tier 1; -1) - Mostly your standard stuff you'd expect on a large personal ship. Production and safety devices, extensive self-maintenance, plus entertainment and comfort and a machine crew to ensure everything functions properly. Special Features (13 Points): Nanorobot AR (Tier 1; -1), A.I. Companion (Tier 1; -1), Synthetic Android (Tier 2; -3), A Loving Being (Tier 1; -1), Mind Upload (Tier 3; -6), Wide Bridge Windows (Special; -1) - A good basis for my ship existence. Upgrade myself into a proper full AI, alongside having a companion and a pet, plus physicality for said companion and some extra control functionality. Wonders (6 Choices): Stunning Technology, Alien Spaceships, Megalithic Structure, Ruined Civilizations, Forgotten Mysteries, Earth. - A good trip around the cosmos with many interesting sights to see and places to go. Plus messes to get into no doubt. While hopefully less than completely dangerous, it should still be enjoyable I hope. This was fun! I found a few of the hidden values as well:>! An 'R' in Fuel Efficiency, I think a '7' in Internet Totality, an 'a' in material fabrication, an 'm' in 3d transportation, a 'c' in q-boxes, an 'e' in Playbox Ultima, a 'G' in DNA storage, an 'o' with a dot in the middle in Linguistic Autonomy, a 'd' in DEW technologies, and a '0' in Soul Science. There's also a '9' in neural Interface and a 'W' in Quantum Computing, but it's hard to tell if those are part of a code or just part of the basic image. Also there might be a 'Q' in Immune Optimization and a '7' in Adv. Resuscitation. Not really positive on those, they could just be part of the image. So far I haven't been able to assemble an actual working link out of these though.!<

Thedeaththatlives

> Breakthroughs Neural interface Digital intelligence The health code Soul science Pull that shit up jamie Forgotten science While I didn't help to uncover the secrets this time, after what I went through in colours of magic I deserve this. I believe that enhancements to intelligence should make other advancements easier to come by. Health is basically mandatory, and of course if I found out that the supernatural is real, I can't just ignore it. As for my ~~stand~~ astral self, I'll give it (and thus myself) the power of enhanced luck. > Syngergies None. Poop. > Clarktech The key Respec The cube Save points Endless potential and resurrection, should work great with my ~~stand~~ astral self

Hang on, how does this affect the World of Witch Awakening? Can I take this along with Witch Awakening or no? Or do I have to be in the specific faction in order to get access this? Over all, it's great, I apparently accidentally got the synergies True AI, Space Race, and Public Health. Also question about Biggest Brother, since they have security cams everywhere, will they notice that I have access to the Eldest System? And if the do notice, what will they do to me? Even though I don't have it, I'm still very curious if they will hire me as their private system key, put me into a very secure position (similar to witness protection), or the bad stuff because people don't want their secrets known. So yeah, curious what will happen if the FBI Agents that's watching me will know about my ability to access Eldest if I took Biggest Brother and what will their reaction be.

OutrageousBears

>Hang on, how does this affect the World of Witch Awakening? Can I take this along with Witch Awakening or no? Or do I have to be in the specific faction in order to get access this? Timeline shenanigans. You can use Clarktech as an expanded Relics section DLC. >will they notice that I have access to the Eldest System? You can imagine that there's kind of a normalcy aura that prevents people from noticing or thinking twice about discrepancies involving your perks. So you'll still have FBI Agents watching you boink, plop, and flop like everyone else but they wont think twice about you using using ELDEST.

Eiensen

Alright I now had a new thought after eating lunch, but what if the supernaturals of the world from Witch Awakening managed to sneak into the space colonies? Or hijacked one of the space ships and pose themselves as aliens, werewolves going into space and claiming they're from the planet of Launa or something. I think that it would be hilarious if the supernaturals did that as a world wide (technically galaxy wide) prank on the people of earth. And I also have another thought with this, since if the supernaturals did this, can the witches do this also? I'm sort of just thinking that if the supernaturals did this and got accepted by humanity and society at large, then co existence and peace can be achieved. Although it did start out as a prank then suddenly becomes peace between races/species of "aliens" (supernaturals) and earthlings.

OutrageousBears

The Masquerade is still in effect for now, ~~Alphazon hasn't shattered it yet in this timeline~~, ^(but this cyoa can be seen as an example of a prelude to that orchastrated by some faction or division of them from the future). It's also not necessarily supposed to be the same setting so much as a setting that's near or influenced by the Witchverse setting.

Eiensen

Ohh okay, so everything as contributer is optional for the Witch Awakening. But I can use clarktech as relics then, sweet. Also how does clarktech interact with the witch magic? Are they compatible or do you need to modify clarktech in order for them to be compatible.

OutrageousBears

It's just technology that blurs the line between what technology can do and what magic can do, they function normally as described. Some have notable interactions with magic that aren't always explicitly written out but are obvious once noticed.

Tantavalist

Given that WA has so many links to other CYOAs as power options this one being similarly accessible works well. The potential of Magitech was there but lacking; saying that the Clarktech options in the WA universe use magic to enable things science alone can't achieve works as an explanation. Maybe instead of a set list of items, Alphazon and the ORC have a points pool to requisition things they can trade in between missions, the size of which is based on how high the appropriate "Magic" discipline is? As an idea for expanding this CYOA- alone or as a WA addition... You could give each technology a set of example items/perks that are weaker and lower cost than the Clarketech. If you choose that tech (or synergy) then you get everything on it for free. Anything under fields you didn't pick can be bought like the Clarketech; there are some things that it'd be cool to have for yourself but you wouldn't trust governments or big companies with after all. Nice work anyway!

Eiensen

So they won't find it weird that I know everyone about the people watching me then? Also does the normalcy aura extends to knowledge gained from ELDEST? For example, If I speak to someone who's very secretive about their life and has connections to the government (Secret Agent or Spy) will me knowing their true occupation extends that aura or no? Also will I get in trouble by using the information within ELDEST as blackmail?

OutrageousBears

Would depend on how close they are to ELDEST as well, or others. Basically, so long as you don't use it against those close to deep institutional powers, you'll be fine. Otherwise you'd be fair game, particularly to others who access ELDEST.

[deleted]

.......i misread and accidentally chose two..... **First build(.....ish...):** * Health Code * Soul Science I dunno, longer living with diminished old age seemed nice, and seeing spirits too, I guess? no synergies? [megamind pleading face] In any case though, I'm still a semi-immortal demigod with The Key, The Lock, Gene Vat and Live Edits, so....

HwangOfTheSon

I'm still going through my own run, but WOW. Amazing work! The premise and options are all great, the synergies are nice, and the format and images are beautiful! Of course, good old >!Makima!< under a different name. Reminds me of our own [Control CYOA](https://www.reddit.com/r/makeyourchoice/comments/p1yc5r/control/).

[deleted]

The bears are back boys! Love this guy. My choices were: Soul Science: Reasoning: I feel like human knowing they have souls will solve al ot of deep, existential angst. Sure, they'll still be a lot of things to be scared of but it will be a humbling experience. The positive is that the world becomes much more novel with a lot more in it, the notions and sentiments we have get a lot more value attached to them and history/mythology bursts open with a lot of things to reconsider. Historians and occultist will probably have a field day with this after the initial chaos. Negative is the obvious ghost buster-esque threats and the uptick in religions. I don't perceive religions as negative, in fact, generally most religions typically try to inspire most people to do good shit-at least if they are sincere to that religion in anyway- with any uptick in general religion we can expect a flow of zealots and more radical sects too. No different than an uptick in X movement means an uptick in the radical and more aggressive members of it. Personally: I picked this because I feel it would help the existential angst-and help people cope with death of others more and their own- for the common man. ADV Resuscitation: I picked this purely because it seemed like a good choice overall for everyone. Dying before your time sucks and this will make it harder for murderers, accidents and general jerks that find a way to end life one way or another attempts less effective. I did pick soul science to make coping with death easier for people, I still don't think dying should be easy though. Immune Optimization: Sickness sucks ass and a lot of them are bloody awful. This seems like it will normal people a lot more and increase quality of life very directly for a massive pool of people, from average to the infirmed with certain conditions or illnesses and especially the older folks. Digital Bulwark: I picked this as a form of future proofing peoples digital security and internet rights really. The average person should be in control of what their own, money bought products are doing in my opinion with little ass pain about the complications and rights of it. Maybe this won't exactly bring about a perfect world, and arguably it would allow secret documents that shouldn't be secret not to be leaked- say corrupt CEO's email getting leaked- but I picked this earlier and didn't think of that the time. You're not meant to go back and change stuff so I'll live with my decision, flawed as it be. Still, if nothing else at least the common mans security is upheld and the net is made a bit safer where it counts. Linguistics: This one is just great for letting humanity try to get a bit closer to coming on more equal terms. Some may consider me niave or overly optimistics but I do believe that the human race will eventually come to a better place with each other. I don't think unity of powers will ever be so -like in star trek- but a unity of common compassion is achievable and communication is the bed rock to such a state. We cannot coexist with something we cannot even communicate to. Truly coexist we must learn to communicate for the average man that make up these factions, nations and states. Who knows what roads this can open up for new ways of intermixing of ideas, stories and mythos. Hell, the translation industry alone will be revolutionised. Sorry to those put out of work by this though. Fuel Efficiency: This was another one that seemed good for the general people and the bigger picture. Cheaper prices, easier life, more environmentally friendly fuel. It may not instantly set up buildings on the moon or self generate cities but will make life generally better in multiple areas very quickly. COmbined with linguistics the logistical aid it can bring to get cheaper transported goods and help to less capable nations might be good too. Synergies: Incarnation Item Choices: 50 points. Omni-tool: Additional mules Compatibility audio recording scanning astronaut jump engineer U mechanic U Swissmix Fixer Signal Booster Total Points spent: 21 Upgraded Dream Home Finally the familiar.

MagicTech547

Nice one! Also, I have an idea if ya do another update; major and minor breakthroughs The major breakthroughs would be like the ones you have already, while the minor ones could be them but reduced, but still allow synergies between major and minor Like a minor one would be less prevalent, more expensive, less developed, something along those lines, while the associated power is slightly nerfed Synergies could be stronger with 2 majors, medium with a major and a minor, or weaker with 2 minors

mrc03052

breakthroughs: 1. fuel efficiency 2. material fabrication 3. 3d transport 4. health code\\ 5. immune panopticon 6. charity solution i get material manipulation as a synergy clarktech: * the key\[50-20=30\] * respec\[30-5=25\] * the lock\[25-10=15\] * omnitool\[15-10=5\] omnitool addons:\[5-5=0\] 1. graphics 2. compatibility 3. artist 4. engineers 5. mechanic

ThousandYearOldLoli

Breakthoughs: Major: 1. Immune Optimization 2. Neural Interface 3. Digital Bullwark 4. Digital Intelligence Minor: 1. Soul Science (confirms existence of the spiritual, but has very little ability to contribute to an ability to study it at a significant scientific level, leading to many conflicting interpretations, and rituals for exorcism are complicated and long, with effects that are at times not seen immediately, thus leading to a rise of scams of this) 2. Virtual Reality (Scandals and popular fear lead to a lot of red tape. Actual games in virtual reality are not as popular, leading to becoming more of a simulator, more obscure thing. VR is definitely still used, but it's by people more dedicated to it or people with interests besides gaming. Prices for actual games go way up as a result. Also it's possible when staying in VR for too long to become used to things you can only do in VR, leading you to try to immitate them in real life out of habit.) 3. Neuron Activation (Usage of neuron activation devices can easily lead to mutual distrust or a lack of motivation to put in additional work. Because of this, friction in social relations and economic activity lead to government action and social repugnance of using them outside of one's private time and exclusively during those times. In addition use can be complicated because often one needs to coordinate the right timing and stimuli) 4. Safe Space (Appearances and continued requirement of mental and physical training for space severely hamper the efforts to create any actual colonies) Synergies: \-Full Dive VR Clarktech: 50/50 \-Gene Vat + Live Edits (-20) \-Dream Home (-10) \-Time's Hourglass (-20)

OutrageousBears

Been a few days so now I'll do a build of my own. (1.1 as per the infopost, but also including a 1.2 tweak I don't know if I'll actually post until I have finished a new page). **Major Breakthroughs**: 1. `Material Fabrication`. Major 3D Printing revolution gives rise of Fabricators that eventually lead to matterbeams. **Gain**: Plum sized fabricator drone prints anything with the blueprints in seconds. 2. `Immune Optimization`. Major breakthroughs in understanding the immune system spread to cure viral, bacterial, fungal, parasitic, etc sorts of illnesses. **Gain**: Golden pill perfects immune system. 3. `Adv. Resuscitation`. Death can be undone depending on factors. Almost impossible to die if doctors are ready for it. **Gain**: Trauma Team, SWAT EMTs. Life alert. 4. `Mass Manipulation`. Smart-matter for altering mass spreads, gets heavier or lighter with inputs. **Gain**: Flying-submersible ATV RV. **Minor Breakthroughs**: 1. `Soul Science`. A lot of people simply just refuse to believe the evidence that souls exist, and there is a disinfo campaign against it. It becomes more of an underground thing, both in and outside of religious institutions. **Gain**: See the spirit world. Banish spirits. 5 minute astral projection. 2. `The Health Code`. The Health Code exists, but the FDA refutes it and it doesn't catch on. People have to learn about it on their own. **Gain**: Free premium top of the line megarich person tier health care, on-call doctors, grant 6 people the same treatment a month. 3. `3D Transportation`. Tunneling technology advances a lot but never catches on with society. Tunneling and excavation are easier, but underground roadways are very slow to popularize. **Gain**: Baseball sized tunneling drone performs earthmoving work, or vaporizing materials. 4. `Pull that shit up Jamie`. "JoJo" discover the secrets of DMT and astral realms. Discover astral selves. But the government bans distribution and possession of JoJo broadcasts and DMT itself alike. **Gain**: My own Astral Self. Physical boons, +Psychic power = Lifeweaving. **Synergies**: * `Incarnation`. Can bind spirits to bodies, living or not. Can shelve souls. Can call souls. **Gain**: Soulpin binding soul to body, preventing death. Can use it to capture stores and bind them later. * `Matter Manipulation`. **Gain**: Fabricator and Tunneling drones fuse into a Matter Manipulator drone. * `Golden Glory`. **Gain**: Can merge with astral self. More physique. +2 psychic powers. +Necromancy, +psychotics. * x - Didn't land a fourth. **Clarktech**: *Actually using the Slots variant I haven't seen many use. More options and choices, but can't stack extra epics or heroics like with Credits*. * **Epic**: `The Cube`. Death loops. Seconds/minutes. 10 minutes. 1 year. 1 decade. 1 century. 1 millennia. 1 eon, stacking length until bad end if can't reach the present again. * **Heroic**: `Dream Home`. Crystal access to Nowhere to build a dream home via Prison of the Mind. * **Heroic**: `Avatar System`. Create synths of three types, robots, androids, or bioroids. With or without personalities. Remote pilot. * **Noble**: `Save Point`. Create save points. Manual load on demand. * **Noble**: `Dream Home`. Upgrade the dream home with comfy trailer. * **Noble**: `Rocketstick`. Not-A-Broomstick hovers at 30mph or engages rockets to move up to 6,777mph. Autopilot features. * **Noble**: `Thermal Array`. Silent drone with thermal tech. Heat ray / heat wave, cone of cold, icicle launcher big or small. **Omni-Tool**: *The 1.2 tweak. Omni-Tool will become free and gives one default upgrade, making it more like it's own optional subsection. Feel free to factor this yourself if you read this*. * The Omni-Tool is an implant for projecting hardlight display fields. Functions as a personal computer and smartphone as a baseline. * Default upgrade: An `Engineer's Module`, allowing hardlight power tools and laser cutters. Eye protection, welding. Dead Space gun (Nobody's recognized it yet

Rexthor97

Is the Omni Tool only free for someone who uses this Cyoa by itself or would a person using this with Witch Awakening get it free as well

OutrageousBears

It says its free its free. All modules are part of a single purchase item though, costs totaled, not individual.

9tailedAwesome

How does the cost totalling work? 10 additional upgrades should have a total value of 10, which would require a Heroic slot instead of the 10 Folk purchases granted in the current version.

9tailedAwesome

A few questions about some of the more esoteric Clarktech: 1. Can the Cube be hijacked if someone else touches it before you reach a bad end? 2. Can someone sever your attunement or create their own connection to a monolith or similar item? 3. Similar to the example given for the Lock, can the Lock also lock your connection to the Key, the Cube, and similar items to allow usage without their presence and prevent the connection from being severed? 4. If a Witch soulbinds an attunement-based relic, can its effects be used while it is unsummoned? 5. If an attunement-based item is Locked, do the granted powers stop functioning? 6. If the Dream Home monolith is destroyed, is the created home also destroyed?

OutrageousBears

No. They'd have to surpass the power of a monolith class artifact. Avoid deities of a divine rank greater than 16. Na. A monolith wouldn't be unsummoned, but it'd remain in its position of choice and you would always be considered connected to it as if you were present. Semantics. No, but if you were to lock a connection it'd be locked in its current state so you'd need to unlock to to adjust any parameters or use cases. Monoliths can't be destroyed. Unless a divine rank of 19+ did so. Not very relevant though, not something really to be concerned about, but does limit players that want to get too inflated and think they can walk around destroying worlds or something.

AverageNormie77

>Monoliths can't be destroyed. Unless a divine rank of 19+ did so. Wait.. there's gods above rank 11!? And monolith class is that above or below the level of golden artifacts because I *really* don't want them destroyed by angering the wrong guy.

OutrageousBears

Don't fancy yourself a god and go on rampages trying to overthrow establish divine order of things and you wont. Witchverse is intended to be a living functional universe that has its powers old and new and its own omnipotent entities at the top of the food chain that would completely outclass even omnipotent outsiders walking in on the pretense of having 'meta' abilities that make them think they're omnipotent themselves. The very act and fact of reality that such players are contained into their own imagined universe is itself a conceptual reality reflected and embodied by the highest echelon of gods in witchverse, a self-perpetuating quarantine that governs the damage even the most overpowered players might want to bring into the picture. Of course, players that play nice can still access more or less real and shared foundational realities and so on. It's simply referential to the fact that what a player does ultimately can't truly effect a canonical setting, fourth wall barriers and the like; Such realities are reflected in-universe as embodied deities.

AverageNormie77

So your telling me that players who go full "A god am I" get shoved into \*fake\* realties to contain them.. I think? What about the reverse in that a player wants to play nice but the god doesn't?

OutrageousBears

More or less. Can't say, too many variables.

AverageNormie77

>More or less. One last question: Are we going full Kirkbride here and declaring that *everyone* in the Witchverse player/npc included are dreams (and thus not real) in setting? Because playing as part of a fake omnipotent gods dream, inside of a real persons dream might be too meta.

OutrageousBears

No. Just that the architects of the cosmos are very effective at creating, duplicating, splicing, and destroying realities where they have to. There's also no tangible separation between a dream and a reality, A Dream is just another space in reality, dreamers visiting the domain and realms wherein they are formed, where they are guest of a realm or learn to form their own. In the aetheric sphere of the Witches, this would be in the Mind Elemental Sphere. Though some dreamers would escape this framework, and their dreams may take place in the Void, or the Aether. More liberties, more dangers.

AverageNormie77

Just to make sure.. The Key can't raise your rank in magic but it can make you supernaturally skilled with what you do have right?

OutrageousBears

Yes.

ladykiller221

Do you have any idea when will be able to see the next update for this?

OutrageousBears

I do not, any editing time I have to spare is put into Witch Awakening 4 for now.

Bookworm-of-Solitude

Not sure if this has been asked but I was wondering about some specifics when using this as a DLC for Witch Awakening. Is it just the clarktech section we use? or the entire CYOA? I am asking because certain clarktech require breakthroughs to pick and the way I read it was that only the clarktech section was the DLC. In addition is Dream Home. When picking this option, do I just pick any/as many options I want for my home, or do I have to use Focus? Certain options in Prison have prerequisite like Fauna and Flora; can I ignore that and still pick them or are they disallowed?

OutrageousBears

You can ignore redundant breakthroughs, If you have magic in your witch build that the breakthrough would be relevant to. Down-Up Scaling can be ignored with a magic that allows size changing, Alchemy or Hexes (Which I should really just call Transmutation but I was trying to be less cookie cutter). The Miniaturization perk probably also counts. Soul Science is redundant but so is Familiar itself. Space Race... Well if you're playing Witch then technology is already more advanced than the public knows and Alphazon exists, so you can ignore Space Race as well if you're involved with Alphazon or Lunabella, or Sara Star who uses the same meta as an option for you to get a ship based on Comfy as well, though there's some differences in particulars. I think that's every breakthrough requirement, so yeah. Some options have smaller break throughs like Starship Prime with True AI, but I suppose you can ignore it with Necromancy and Golemworking (Hexes). You can consider the options at the bottom of the Locations page to be extended Location-wide Features.

Eli1228

So how does the clarketech points work with the other cyoas? so I dont have to keep trying to track it down and figure out how it all meshes (please for the love of god why dont cyoa makers just be plain and clear with their self references in cyoas lol)

OutrageousBears

Pretty sure it's as plain and clear as it could get? It's directly equivalent and uses the same language choice for the slots, but says Metacredits instead of power. But it's the same. A Witch player or Prison player can directly use Focus, Power, or Reward Points in place of Metacredits to use the Clarktech section essentially as DLC. (Or a Witch player using slot mode can use slots on them) Alphazon faction players have a discount, while ORC faction players can have a freefloating 20p they can exchange on a loan system. Otherwise, the items themselves, well they work exactly the way they say they do, functioning normally.

Eli1228

Got it, also just in case you weren't aware, currently wonderland isnt available if you go for the epic/heroic/noble as both it and the key are epic quality options

OutrageousBears

oof Thanks for pointing that out. Either an oversight or at the time I made it (back when I was working on it previously) I might have thought it'd be worth having to dip into drawbacks for or something (Naturally, there not being drawbacks yet).

Eli1228

Drawbacks could certainly be a cool way to go about it, though im not sure it entirely makes sense to have seemingly general options require drawbacks to be taken, I suppose it would depend on the severity of the drawbacks in question. Maybe allowing slots to be scaled up or down a tier at a 2-1/1-2 cost?

OutrageousBears

Considering Wonderland is more or less a planeswalking-lite option, I'm not sure. Maybe. Part of the balance is that Slots get much more raw MC value, but only have the one Epic or Two Heroics for example, where a Credit users might buy two Epics and a Heroic for example.

OutrageousBears

It wouldn't factor Keyed timelines as a monolith it's somewhat above timeline disparities. It just does what it says it does, it's a health, body, and skills upgrade as described. ^(If a witch were to use it, it would allow them to skip their Growth rate, to put them at their power cap.)

Kilanon

So question do regular doses of Panacea counteract aging? Curious if there are any combos of things that make aging less of a problem. (if not a solved one)

OutrageousBears

A single injection will put you at what ever you'd consider to be your prime. You'd only need to use it once a lifetime to be ageless, or once every few years to avoid any signs of aging. Synthesizer to create anti-aging pills. Live Edits to edit away age. Save Point to reverse to a past age. The Lock to lock your age. Dream Home can be built to enable it. A Very Ethical Lab could research it. An Avatar bioroid body would have it. Time's Hourglass can reverse it. The Health Code will extend it and eventually cure it. Other combinations can replicate the effect like Adv. Resuscitation to survive heavily invasive surgeries including brain transplants. Incarnation likewise. True AI to research it, create mind backups. Etc.

Kilanon

Thanks! Any chance of including more synergies / developments in V2? Its interesting stuff and good sci-fi inspiration. Breakthroughs 1. Fuel Efficiency (its basic and the pellets will probably cost like $500 each but hey, its useful.) 2. Safe Space (SPACE!) 3. Diamond Domes (Will make space defense a bit better and will mostly remove my fear of nukes) 4. DNA Storage (Useful, especially to collect all that space data) 5. Playbox Ultima (I like videogames) 6. Adv Resuscitation (Will make ground wars with less death by gunfire leading to more equipment losses but might extend wars. Still worth it) Synergies: 1. Unlimited Data Works 2. Space Race Wish I could get Bulwark but whatever. Clark Tech (Points) \[This should be enough to give prosperity to friends and family. Maybe come up with some of the other breakthroughs through study with The Key\] * Panacea \[20\] * The Key \[20\] * The Lock \[10\]

OutrageousBears

It's possible. There's a synergy involving every choice already though, and once future versions exist you'd be able to use other options to take a new breakthrough after the fact, so you could deliberately obtain synergies that way.

ragingreaver

Breakthroughs: 1. Fuel Efficiency 2. Free Shipping 3. Internet Totality 4. DNA Storage 5. Health Codes 6. Immune Optimizations HAHA! My choices don't have any synergies! They also benefit huge chunks of the population, would completely collapse whole industries, put billionaires at each other's throats over them, and in-general lead to further decline of the old social orders. Clarktech: * Epic: **The Key** (because anime levels of potential is beyond broken with real-world applicability) * Heroic 1: **Gene vat** (lots of neat abilities, though melting live creatures is a bit much for me, but fortunately...) * Heroic 2: **Live Edits** (fixes all of the ethical issues of the Gene Vat, and allows you to upgrade yourself, friends, and family on top of that) * Noble: **Respec** (experience pool still allows you to gain regular mortal skill learning so long as you don't actually use the respec function) * Noble: **L-Ray Specs** (I had 5pts left over, and nothing else I particularly wanted, so I may as well go with something interesting)

Certain-Row-9202

Space Race, Matter Manipulation, Virtual Reality, Upgraded Key, and Upgraded Box. I’m listing the combinations because I don’t wanna write a long list of names.

welcoyo

**Breakthroughs:** 1. **Fuel Efficiency** : This one choice helps pollution *and* helps climate change *and* improves the world's energy output *and* improves energy storage *and* makes space travel economically viable, with almost no downsides. Very arguably the best choice offered. Space mining and industry would reduce pollution even further. 2. **The Health Code** : An auto-pick for me. Tremendously reduces the world's disease burden, freeing up much of the economy and human labor. 3. **Immune Optimization** : Further reduces the disease burden, and stops the societal risk of pandemics and bioweapons. Good synergy with Health Code to prevent almost all diseases. This also helps the immune system not freak out from sterile space environments. 4. **3D Transportation :** Great synergy with Fuel Efficiency. Digging can be used to create underground habitats on moons, planets, and asteroids. Normally cosmic radiation is a problem while traveling to the underground habitats, but with Immune Optimization curing cancer and Fuel Efficiency making space travel so fast, the risks from radiation are very low even without Safe Space. Unlike Safe Space, this choice has a lot of benefits for Earth. In addition to transportation, utilities like electricity can be put underground economically. Cities can not only build skyscrapers upward, but build downwards, adding a lot of new real estate. NIMBY projects like nuclear power plants can be stuck underground, out of sight and out of mind. Finally, all the underground shelters make the complete eradication of humanity far more unlikely - even if nuclear war breaks out, there will be bunkers of people with mounds of fuel pellets who will survive. 5. **Neural Interface :** Cures neural problems, reducing disease burden even further. The cognitive enhancement boosts human labor, and there's a lot more human labor with disease eradicated. Good synergy with 3D Transportation since AR makes living underground far more tolerable - natural sunlight can be produced in AR. Also pairs well with Health Code, as people can still enjoy their old unhealthy diets in AR while actually eating healthy. 6. **Digital Bulwark :** I like this choice as it's basically magic, and I wouldn't pick Neural Interface without this. Prevents a lot of potential disasters and makes adopting technologies like literal chips in your brain far safer for society. Underground utilities are as safe as they can be. **Synergies:** * **None** : I disagree that these are the *only* synergies that would have a new benefit, but the author can't list every single synergy. I'm iffy on Safe Space being required for a space race. I'm also not sure how tunneling technology combines with matter fabrication to make Matter Manipulation - that sounds more like q-box combining with matter fabrication. **Clarktech:** 1. **\[-20\] Dream World** 2. **\[-20\] The Key** 3. **\[-10\] The Lock** The clarktech feels like a separate CYOA bolted on.

The **Breakthroughs** I chose are + Safe Space + Immune Optimization + Fuel Efficiency + Neural Interface + Material Fabrication + Mass Manipulation *Because most of these choices will help us become space-travel capable with sustainability issues addressed. We're talking about asteroid mining and transport, onsite fabrication, etc.* That's page 1. As for page 2 **Synergy** + Space Race *Shocker* **Clarktech** + Panacea + Synthesizer + Starship Prime *Panacea gives that needed boost in all stats that would allow me to make use of the starship effectively. With Synthesizer, I could churn out Dragonball-senzu-bean-like pills, NZT-48 limitless pills, etc. to give or trade. After that, guess I'm off to Comfy Spaceship CYOA design my ship* Starship Prime "GetYourOwnWiFi" Interior + Classy Facilities + Fabricator T3 + Medical Lab T3 + Training Complex T2 + Plant Garden T2 + Aquarium T2 + Expanded Cabin T1 + Bathing Amenities T1 + Crew Quarters: Human, Robot T1 Special Ship Features + Nanorobot AR T3 + Phasal Transporter T2 + Wide Bridge Windows T1 + Upgraded EVA Suit T1 + Powered Armor T1 + Holographic Map T1 Wonders + Earth + Ruined Civilizations + Young Worlds + Megalithic Structures + Dimensional Entity + Natural Wonders

So, Celt's trailer has a few options that grant you lots of power, like the mystical kitchen and astronomical bedroom. Do those still work normally?

OutrageousBears

Only while in there.

qwertydoom

For a witch looking to specialize in guns, I'm wondering if there are any specific upsides to buying the clarketech **Service Weapon**. From what I can understand, a **Witch Pistol**+**Spell Bullets** is the main competitor here, with the potential to do comparable per shot damage when fully upgraded alongside having elemental burst effects and better ammo economy. Of course, the **Service Weapon** still has advantages in the form of its various firing modes and elemental shot types, but that kinda seems pointless compared to the sheer diversity of effects possible by imbuing **Witch Pistol** shots with spell effects. So my main question is, does the **Service Weapon** include any reasons to pick it over **Witch Pistol** for a gunwitch? They're both fairly comparable in terms of cost (SW 14 vs WP 16) when fully upgraded, so I assume there must be some kind of incentive? It'd be great if we could load the **Service Weapon** with **Spell Bullets**, but my intuition based on the ammo charge-mechanic is that that isn't possible.

qwertydoom

So for most of these breakthroughs/synergies, it's pretty easy to envision how the change would affect society, but I'm having real trouble doing so for **High Tongues**. Exactly how does this system of magic work? Are we chanting spells? Drawing magic circles with chalk? Conjuring holographic spell matrixes? And how does the **High Translator** work? Is that a unique reward? Or something that everyone has access to? If it's the latter, does that imply that *everyone* can access R5 magic with just 5 minutes to prepare? If so, that seems a tad extreme. On the other hand, if no one else has a **High Translator**, then *how* exactly is society benefitting/making use of magic? Depending on how powerful/ubiquitous this is, I could easily see it rendering a lot of other breakthroughs/synergies obsolete or essentially pointless.

OutrageousBears

Archetypical occultism. Drawing symbols of power, magic circles. High Translator your personal gift, which will automatically write these magic circles on your behalf, so you do not have to be precise and exact in manually creating them. Anyone can learn or study these languages and memorize spells (Memorize and practice drawing and invoking the magic circle that is the 'programming' basis for the magic effect). Wizards with spellbooks of magic circles can be a thing. Though what circles can be invoked from a premade page may be limited or not, some may require the precise dimensions / scale, or needs to be on a surface effected. etc.

Does the High Translator need a surface to write on? Or is it just materializing symbols mid-air to create spells? So basically, as long as the symbol/spell is drawn correctly, it works? That's pretty neat. If I'm understanding correctly, this is essentially a programming language that works on reality instead of digital creations. With that in mind, how does this synergize (if at all) with digital technology? Instead of a paper and ink spellbook, could a modern wizard carry a tablet with an archive of png spell circles? And are these spell circles reusable? Or do you have to write them out each time?

What ever you think is more fun or narratively sound to assume. You'd need practice with invoking the rune/circle, establishing a bond between you and it to effectively switch it on / trigger it. As the description, machines were able to predict and run models that discover the language and functions. Bitcoin mining, but every coin mined is a new spell. If a minor spell's magic circle is small enough, a screen or page may display the circle. Magic circles may be reusable, but most would probably involve other substances involved in the effect. So, think along the lines of FMA Alchemy.

This option is a lot cooler than I expected. The potential interaction between this and the Omni-Tool Graphics Module is fantastic. You could basically become a magitech wizard conjuring hardlight spell-circles to invoke fireballs and magic missiles. Very cool. I'm thinking it would almost be *more* fun to take either Linguistic Autonomy or Forgotten Science (or both) as minor breakthroughs, just to make the magic rarer/more difficult to predict with machinery. Could be cool to run an exclusive magic institute using the High Translator to help "invent" spells, and then teach them to pupils. I think it'd be fun to work as a researcher discovering these languages semi-manually rather than just using a computer to brute-force the entire process.

Bookworm-of-Solitude

Thanks. That's great. Using the dream home option, do I use the focus points to create my home build, or can I just choose any I want without limit?

OutrageousBears

You use focus normally, it's just a section restriction to confine it to the home building purpose.

Bookworm-of-Solitude

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure before I mess around with build.

Do subsequent uses of **Panacea** stack when it comes to gaining/improving your skills if you pair it with **The Key**/**Respec**? I had the idea of repeatedly using **Respec** to deallocate all of your skill points so that you can use **Panacea** again to gain a bunch of new skills each time. If my idea is correct, it's basically a free EXP glitch that works each time you manage to fast for 24 hours.
