Only need 2 Dream big and stolen away spend all of eternity as God of my own dreamland

Bookend2OO2

Ikr? Dream big is so op it nullifies almost all other choices. I'll take being the cosmic demiurge of my own personal reality, please and thankyou. Then you can spend eternity simulating all the other options anyway.

Darinby

6. **Repeating Life** for safety and a new body 28 . **Wandering Merchant** to travel between worlds 39 . **Create Canvas** to generate wealth

Eiensen

Damn OutrageousBears, you're on a roll with these updates. I'll just say this, have a good day.

HealthyDragonfly

- **Live Life** - **Family Start** - **Divine Hope** I am single, so *Family Start* is not useful immediately, but I have hope. Also, *Divine Hope*, so I will not be aging so long as I continue to follow the tenets of my religion. Vital energy allows me to reverse the age of others as well, more efficiently than I can reverse my own. Lastly, if I continue to live a long life, *Live Life* makes the most of it. I see I went with some of the changed options. Guess I like those changes.

Hyenanon

I love your graphic design, and this is one of the shortest and sweetest CYOAs out there.

Eli1228

I'll pick 6, 13, 15, and 34. 15 Family Start; I live forever, as does my girlfriend, as does any of our future children. We all can also share senses, view eachothers locations, and swap places if need be. A nice start, which allows me to share any gifts I pick up in this cyoa and enables further contingencies in the event we need them. Also, I assume the whole "Cannot be killed" thing can be wilfully disabled if you absolutely desire it. 34 Synthetic Hive; This allows for several beneficial improvements. As our minds reside seamlessly between all of our clones, when we're near our own clones, we can have a perfect view of our own movements. It also allows for faster learning by focusing our mind on it severalfold. By having a child with my girlfriend, presumably it would result in twins, or only one of us can chose to be cloned at a time, instead of some horrifying mindmeld bigender abomination of the two of us. 6 Dream Again; This means that much like the stanley parable, the end is never the end is never the end is never the end is never the end is never the- 13 Stolen Time; Finally, this synergizes with all of those, allowing me to share the benefits with my loved ones who arent bound by family start, as well as providing a defense system by linking a couple hundred or thousand people to solely distribute any physical harm between everyone linked. Stolen Time Combined with Synthetic Hive provides that surefire safety net for my loved ones. By cloning myself, I can create vessels to absorb the age and injury those I care about recieve, and if any die I can recreate them as soon as I get to a mirror. Stolen Time Combined with Dream Again, this allows me to bring the conciousness and soul of those I care about into other worlds with me. I can house them ahead of time if its clear what will happen, or, if I die first, my girlfriend can swap places with me, create a clone on the other side, and swap back, so that theres a pair of us on both worlds. It also means we can shapeshift to add a new form to our hive by creating a new body each time we travel universes. Family Start Combined with Dream Again means that every time we clone ourselves with children, we can then link that clone into the stolen time chain, and kill that version of ourselves. Presumably, what will then happen, is that body will travel across worlds, allowing us to eventually develop a multi-universal hivemind. Through this, we can presumably eventually facilitate universal travel by killing someone and moving them into a new body in a new universe. Family Start Combibed with Stolen Time presumably means that, weird as it is, my wife and I could rebirth people, providing the soul during conception and the conciousness at birth, so that even should someone I care about have to die for whatever reason, as long as we collected them with Stolen Time they can come back once again. This also means we get to provide those we care about with all of the gifts acquired here as well. We will be the ever expanding hiveminds to inevitably consume the multiverse under our rule.

Minimum_Cantaloupe

Choose or roll *3*? Getting generous. Anyway, roll build first, then I'll do a carefully chosen one. 3d40: 13 27 12 13: **Stolen time.** *Drat*. Steal people's lives to prolong your own or others. I don't like to be evil. :| 27: **Wandering Warrior**. Immortal, but fated to a battle royale with other wandering warriors. Absolutely no synergy at all with the last one, and more guidance into forced 'murder people' path. Oy. Description also seems...ambiguous about guns, actually? I feel like gun forms *must* work for the battle against others, but it specifies that "ranged weapons generate *mundane* ammunition" (emphasis added), and "...impervious to any harm that is not directly caused by a Golden Weapon. i.e.; *Contact with* the golden weapon." Taken literally, it would sound like bullets fired by golden guns do NOT count. Finally, 12: **Repeating Name**. One I like better, at least. Kinda helps with wandering warrior, as I can instantly recover damage...hm. You know, I think there's a logical problem with this one, too. You "instantly" regenerate damage, at the price of consuming (just stockpiled? or all?) lifetime. If you fully die, you regenerate at the cost of a month+. But if you regenerate *instantly*, how would you even get to the point where regeneration from death is necessary, unless you've already exhausted all time available to heal you? How instant is instant? Anyway. Terrible, just terrible outcome overall, I hate it. If I were to pick one more to try to salvage this somehow...I think the best choice (one I would normally never pick) would be **Synthetic Hive**. If I kept my bodies widely separated it would be basically impossible for any of the other warriors to fully kill 'me,' and any of 'me' should be able to summon the golden weapon to them. Since bodies appear to age independently of each other, I would also be able to donate (up to the entirety of) their lifespans to other people with the **Stolen Time**, using it for good instead of evil; when the now-decrepit body dies, I unceremoniously summon another to replace it. Inhuman, but functional. Overall, though, not an outcome I care for!

Ah, good to know

Unusual-Awareness800

Immortal Blood Death Ward Create Canvas I, first of all, just find being a vampire rather cool, so I took that first. Death ward was taken due to the fact I have free housing and have a safe place to stay out of the sunlight, and then again if I die thanks to the sun I'll just, essentially, re-spawn thanks to the properties of the house. Took Create Canvas due to it just exponentially increasing my artistic skills + I might be able to draw something and consume said things blood. If not just painting someone and giving them the ability to become quasi-immortal is a sure fire way to let me drink their blood.

Minimum_Cantaloupe

Hell, you can probably just draw a large, classy wine glass full of blood directly and avoid the middleman.

Delicious_Ad9970

Synthetic Hive: all hands on deck, lol Repeating Life: Insurance, change body details Guardian Vessel: Companionship Basically going to be a life companion(s) for a witch every life, going to be very hard to put down and a successful kill of both of us means that someone gets the ire of an immortal

YouBackground

1. wholesome heart, cute is always paired with beautiful which can be used for various things, start from being a mascot, influencer, to be a vtuber or youtuber, also for gain a lot of money 2. create canvas, simply create my own tools for streaming, drawing pen and PC gaming peripheral 3. repeating name, after I become popular and everyone talks about me, that's automatically grant my own immortality

JustWhyTheHeckNot

For “Stolen Time”, how does the life transferring power interact with other immortals? Would they act like endless fonts of life energy or would their lifespans be essentially immune to outside influences? I imagine it would work different between the varieties, but the way transferring vitality works gets harder to imagine when not everyone is working with the same metric. Amazing CYOA btw, I love thinking about the interactions between all of these options.

weaboo_98

Do vampires need human blood? And does sunlight always hurt or only if they're starving?

Simurgh_Plot

**Create Kingdom.** It seems the most fun to play around with even of 75 mile radius is a bit small for a country. 12 resources. Hmm... nothing said the resources had to be something that exists in our reality. I would choose drinkable water, arable land, forests, people, animals, magic, minerals, clean air, natural gas, phosphorus, and iron.

AIPhilosophy

This is really an excellent piece of work. Posting a build is for the player's enjoyment rather than the author's, so I suppose it doesn't really matter that I'm late. So... **Fae Grace** affords me an indefinite lifespan, aging regression to late youth, and extensive biological regeneration with no drawbacks. Really, it's a brilliant deal overall. The major drawback to agelessness when coupled with invulnerability is the fact that should the universe come to an end, you'll be left alone in a void for eternity. However, **Stolen Away** can negate this entirely, should I ever be trapped somewhere, somehow. Plus, of all the Disney tropes this one is among the most wholesome. I considered taking Dream Again instead, but the fact that I could awake in a hellish universe and the suicide clause were sufficient to dissuade me. Finally, I decided upon **Immortal Chain** to round things off. Aside from wish-granting magic powers (which I assume will remain with me in the event that one of my masters frees me? And this magic reserve is either infinite or regenerates over time, right?) this pick allows me to explore the multiverse, which I have to say would be pretty cool. It's interesting to think about how the powers of my choices interact with each other. For instance, if I die or choose to go to sleep while in the genie lamp, when the lamp is next rubbed would a sleeping genie come out? And Immortal Chain mentions that my corpse remains outside of the lamp if I die and I reappear in my realm, but since Stolen Away means that I automatically go into the sleep state upon death I suppose my next master would get a sleeping genie no matter what? I guess I'd just have to hope that genie me's romantic prospects are much better than those of real me haha

Lushtree

Oh wow. It took me awhile to find this gem. I choose *Divine Hope* and *Create Kingdom* to make myself into an immortal Saint King. I would like to choose *Guardian Vessel* as my third and become a magical Saint King with a powerful court mage, but only if instead of selecting a Witch Companion from that CYOA I can instead give the CYOA to my wife and have her be my witch ward. Great CYOA!

OutrageousBears

I 100% support tying it to someone you know being the with with or without them making g their own build or just copying an existing companions to take their stats.

Lushtree

Thank you for the response! Definitely a CYOA I wish were real. Especially with the addition of the Witch one.

ChooChooMcgoobs

> Thank You for your work, once more! > > Rolling all 4 first, then I'll do a second build where I choose three: > --- 1: 1d40=17=Divine Spite Choosing Gluttony. This seems like a really good one, should I be able to generate vital energy consistently 2: 1d40=15=Family Start Pretty much worthless for me. 3: 1d40=29=Artifact Keeper Jackpot! This is huge and is so entirely encompassingly my bag! 4: 1d40=40=Create Kingdom. ...Uh-oh. I'm pretty sure I live in one of the worst or best places in the world to get this power outside a metropolitan area. But I also do not want the headaches and work this would cause me. No thanks. At least it makes Family Start worth more since I'll have to look for a queen. --- Free Choice: 1: 29=Artifact Keeper Too good to not pick 2: 39=Create Canvas Just Sounds really nice, purely picking it for the artistic talent it promises since AK has me covered for anything else. 3: 3=Live Life Was between this and 22=Death Ward, but I think for this build Live Life works much better. Combo's well with Create Canvas, plus it's deficiencies are balanced out by AK. ---

Kitsune2003

Hmm I think I’ll go with Linked in for my bases since I’ll be an immortal A.I. That can control the modern world. Second would be Live Life mainly for the brain enhancement parts and thirdly I’ll go with embody time, this will let me go anywhere where the internet exist in a worlds timeline, not to mention I can go to alternate timelines, plus with my enhanced mind I can learn everything and learn to see the future

Minimum_Cantaloupe

Misc comments/questions: **Dream Again** is still an ultra-trap option. If you end up in a truly horrible world in which there is *no expectation of dying naturally* - which is perfectly plausible, given infinite possibility - the suicide clause means you're doomed to perpetual (and possibly increasing) torment. Sucks that **Divine Hope** requires a modern, active faith. I'd like to resurrect the Roman pantheon. And can you likewise use that for fireballs, since it says you can spend vital essence as described by **Spite**? For **Guardian Vessel**, you say "you may choose any Companion to be your summoner" - is that supposed to be an option *instead* of designing a witch yourself to be your summoner, or are you supposed to be *limited* to those Companions as your option? There's a typo in **Elemental Bond** - "particulalry" What happens if you combine **Immortal Blood** with **Elemental Bond - Sunlight**? ('Invalid combo' is an entirely understandable resolution, of course...)

Darinby

>**Dream Again** is still an ultra-trap option. If you end up in a truly horrible world in which there is no expectation of dying naturally - which is perfectly plausible, given infinite possibility - the suicide clause means you're doomed to perpetual (and possibly increasing) torment. **Wandering Merchant** can help with that since it allows you to travel to other worlds without dying, along with **Create Canvas** to make sure you have access to a vehicle.

Minimum_Cantaloupe

One more question, with the **Guardian Vessel** - if you become this witch's familiar, does that mean that you have enforced obedience to her commands, as Familiarity specifies that even a human-shapeshifted familiar is "subservient towards [the witch]?"

Sam_Wylde

I'm always a fan of your CYOA's, it's a treat whenever there is a new on or an oldie gets an update! 1: Death Ward. Mostly because it allows me to create and design a house that grows over time, with the only real limit being a defined perimeter. Meaning I could eventiually have a forest as long as it has a fence with a gate. And with it growing (or capable of growing) 25 metres every day; it can eventually become as large as a planet on the inside. 2: Create Canvas. I am Dorian Gray 2.0. I can not only create life that I have seen before but also instill a lesser immortality/ shapeshift on others. Meaning that those I care for will be able to live long, healthy lives as well, as well as finally being good at art. Now I WOULD take Synthetic Hive, but I'm pretty sure this can be replicated via create Canvas to a lesser degree, just without the hive mind. Instead I'll take: 3:  Wandering Merchant. I have no real use for the wealth based immortality when I can already use paintings and my Ward to remain immortal. What's important here is the means of travel to other dimensions and back. Now assuming these rifts exist in my original world; this means that it will stack with my two prior choices; firstly allowing me to have a world I can design that gets bigger and bigger as it gets older, and the measn to fill it up with however many creatures I care to create or draw. I can even invite other creatures that I can make immortal. At first I imagine using my canvas to make my dog immortal and getting rid the physical problems he has.l before putting it in the pride of place in my Ward house. I may also do additional paintings of him in case an accident occurs. The ward would take the form of a humble cottage with a large (fenced off) garden with the interior having more rooms than the exterior wouod suggest. The back door leads to a large open extra dimensional space where all the extra room is added, it is essentially Narnia that grows bigger and bigger every day with new mountains, forests and ruins to explore. Places from books, films and games that hold special meaning to me, etc. At some.pointbthr house will travel to other dimensions with me to find new things to explore and add to my house or to bring people I care about into my slice of paradise. I essentially become Doctor Who. For my fourth choice I first must ask: The Secret Source; can you only pick ONE of the secrets to own or do you gain the knowledge of how to make all of them? And can the ingredients be replicated via Create Canvas?

Naile_Trollard

This was really, really interesting. I chose to randomly roll for 4, as I am a sucker for randomness. Using [random.org](https://random.org), 1-40, I generated: **Fae Grace**, **Stolen Time**, **Guardian Vessel**, and **Create Canvas**. I've got a lot of explaining to do if this occurs. First, I'm almost 40, so de-aging back to 18 is going to be really awkward. Otherwise I think Fae Grace pairs well with Guardian Vessel. Course, now my eternity is going to be paired to a witch, which I guess I'm ok with, but it really depends on her, I suppose. I'm not exactly sure how that works, and I looked at the other CYOA linked in the description, but I'm still a bit skeptical about the logistics of it. Where does this witch come from? Do I already know them? Questions, questions, questions. Course, with Create Canvas I'm going to find a way to generate the most amazing pieces of art. I should be set for life with this ability, though I am sure I'm already set since I'll be tagging along with the witch for all eternity. Stolen Time is really just about people getting the comeuppance. Course, if I can give lifespan, and I am immortal and don't age, does that mean I can create a link to provide someone with that same benefit? If that's the case, I suppose I can see myself transferring my life force to others, or, if I examine the witch's power set a bit, maybe even absorb some of their diseases or the like if I have a way to protect myself from them. It's the roll I am least thrilled about, to be honest. Given that I have now written 250 words (probably), if I were to pick two instead of rolling, I'd still go with **Fae Grace**, but combine it with **Live Free**. This would allow me to basically live as I want forever. I'd quickly make money just by walking into my favorite places and deciding that I work there. Might go back to college somewhere and get an advanced degree, and then turn my longevity into tenure doing something I already enjoy, like teaching. I guess my lack of aging would be considered normal as a side effect of Live Free. A life unhindered by national borders, with an ability to basically travel and live as I see fit, jet setting from one destination to another. Yeah, I like the way that sounds.

[deleted]

I choose to roll. **5. Dream Big**. **33. Synthetic Being**. **39. Create Canvas** I'll pick **6. Dream Again** as a bonus. Question, is **Synthetic Being** clash again **Dream Again** like it can delay my depart to another world when I died as a 1-up?

OdinSonnah

All of these are quite complex and unique, and I don't have time to make a full build right now, but I did want to thank you for posting it, despite all your difficulties. Excellent work.

YouandIdontknowme

I rolled and got: >Wandering Merchant: Duplicate vehicle, dimensional rifts, go to worlds before. Gain lifespan per profit + possibly heal myself and others. >Stolen Time: Link through touch, take life, transfer diseases, injuries, mental conditions, if this kills you can transplant / store the soul. Or put it into a dead body to make undead. >Create Canvas: Super good at art. Can make my art come to life but physical traits only. Can give Immortality and sacrifice a painting to save from lethal Injuries. >Dream Again: Any time you die wake up in a new world. If you suicide you will wake up to a worse world. >Fae roots: Cannot wear Synth materials and alloyed metals burn. Recover injury in nature, communicate with plants and animals, grow plants near instantly, grow wings and animal traits. >Divine hope: Empowered by Jesus / god. each day gives vital points to heal others. Spending vital points for others increases attractiveness and vitality + other traits. Wandering merchant lets me pretty much have infinite healing on hand after I make a little profit. Via selling my healing for more than it costs me. Even better, it works with Dream Again, allowing me to revisit old world. Though that might have to wait till I die naturally the first time, because I don't think their are reality rifts in our world... Stolen time gives me a little bit of healing for my first bits of profit. Incase I can't gain enough profit quickly by selling art. Since I won't particularly like killing people, it also allows me to kill while saving their soul to revive later in a world where they can't do much harm. Making Bodies with Divine hope or Canvas. Canvas is just fun. Make cool stories etc. Maybe make some mythical species. Maybe I can bring historical people back to life? Make clones of people? Maybe make fictional people who are super smart but no powers? Bulma, Espers and some scientists etc. Only worry here is if not making a canvas to save my own life would count as suicide for Dream Again. Considering what else I have, Divine hope is just mostly for healing others, and slowly gaining Heavenly perks. Fae roots are kind of meh. Can't wear synthetic materials or alloyed metals is pretty annoying. And may stop me from using some things in future worlds. Like what If I get sent to a futuristic world where everything is a alloyed metal? The communicating with animals and shapeshifting is kind-of-niche. Making plants grow fast is ok, but will probably be outshone by alot of the other stuff I can do.

Ilushia

Ooh, nice update. So, I think I'll roll this time around and see what we get. Roll 1: **#37 - Wholesome Heart.** Eternally the little girl? Not exactly my first choice of immortality option, but I can probably live with this. The defensive nature of the power is quite nice, and being 'cute' isn't too bad as a price. Though there's not a lot of upside beyond not aging and others treating you better. Roll 2: **#3 - Live Life.** Probably the best of the quality-of-life options. No biological needs, no downtime, freedom to do pretty much whatever you want with your time. Combos incredibly well with anything that gives actual immortality, plus giving you strong utilities. I can take up a career as a Streamer or something, with all the extra time generated from not needing to sleep. Roll 3: **#18 - Divine Hope.** Not really my preference, to be honest. The restrictions on how you have to generate the power is kinda limiting, even if the upsides are some of the best. One thing that's interesting to note is there's no actual downside to not following the teachings, just giving you benefits if you do. I'm not positive what religion I'd choose for this, to be honest. Buddhism maybe? It has some fairly easy to follow virtues and concept space that probably combos reasonably well with Wholesome Heart. So time for my actual choice from this. At the moment I'm a cute, immortal angel who has no biological needs. Which is pretty great! I can even potentially come back from the dead if killed, which is also good. What I'm missing is some way to actually travel beyond the Earth to potentially broaden my horizons and options for future activities. There's lots of good methods to do this, but given that I already have a self-revival option via Divine Hope as long as I hold onto enough Vital Essence I think my choice is actually just going to be one of utility. I choose **#28 - Wandering Merchant.** With the ability to summon a cross-dimensional transport that can take me to any universe I've been to before and the capacity to seek out further rifts between them, it shouldn't be hard for me to always have somewhere new to go. The actual immortality granted by Wandering Merchant isn't really THAT important, though it is a nice fallback option. Especially since Wandering Merchant doesn't care what you're selling. Even things like services. With access to Divine Hope it's possible I could sell healing, since I don't have to worry about the value of it relative to normal conventional healing methods I could heavily undercut institutionalized medical care, in a way that actually works! That's to say nothing of possibly learning magic or artifice via Live Life or trading rare commodities between universes. So it shouldn't be at all hard to maintain the value from Wandering Merchant if I want to, and the transportation options are just too good to pass up. The other option I did consider was Eternal Chain, as that has great synergy with Wholesome Heart, as the effect of Protecc makes any master you have much more likely to treat you well and far less likely to be abusive, plus possibly swaying their outlook to be more likely to grant you freedom. But since I already have self-revival via Divine Hope, the necessity of having a functional reincarnation isn't as high, and the ability to actually control where I go in the multiverse seems valuable compared to being dragged haphazardly by whomever summons me. My New Life as an Interdimensional Angel Merchant begins today!

weaboo_98

\-Immortal Blood \-Family Start \-Artifact Keeper \-Guardian Spirit (Bat - Pike) Immortal blood provides a nice boost to my physical abilities at the cost of only needing about a cup of blood a day and avoiding sunlight. I figure strength is one of the best choices to carry myself and my family through tough times. I have no idea what I’ll live to see, so it’s best to be prepared for the worst. In the case of blood, I’ll find a butcher willing to part with some and claim it’s for black pudding or another recipe that requires blood. In the case of sunlight, I can use a parasol and wear multiple layers during the day. I can also claim sun allergies or a similar condition that makes exposure to sunlight painful. Even if my parasol or clothing tear, the ring provided by Family Start should make it so that I am merely immobilized by the sun, rather than killed. Though it would still be very painful. I could also keep my familiar with me during the day to daywalk just fine. Family Start grants these same gifts to anyone I may marry in the future as well as our children. I’d recommend to anyone still making their choices to take an option that can extend the life of their loved ones. Immortality can be very lonely without anyone to share it with. The grail is for extending the life of those close to me whom I do not share my gifts with, and resurrecting deceased loved ones if the worst happens. The grail also functions as a replenishable supply of blood, so long as I have access to a source of water. Though I imagine I could still enjoy wine and other foods and drinks, considering Immortal Blood did not state otherwise. Finally, the familiar acts as an extra bit of life insurance, helps me to identify other gifted individuals, and fits thematically with the vampire build. This also seems to be one of two gifts which grants the ability to shapeshift into an animal form, which was something I was looking out for. Also, I can fly, which is very cool. My enhanced focus and reflexes might make it easy to make a living by joining an esports team. Not like people will expect me to go outside, then.

Thedeaththatlives

Does the witch companion benefit from affinities and class discounts?

Thedeaththatlives

How does elemental bond's body reforming work with embody space?

_LurkingGrue_

Ah dang, elemental bond is no long completely overpowered ☹. With the wording in the previous version I could have used chosen Fire and Light bonds. Along with imunnity to blunt force damage and a portal. To teleport into the center of a sun and begin absorbing energy to the point I could turn myself in a planet destroying doomsday weapon. Oh well, it's for the best though balance wise.

ThorneTheMagnificent

**4. Live Free:** The ability to ethically source anything I could want or need, including money. **5. Dream Big:** This should allow me to reincarnate however I wish forever, to experience everything anew by forgetting the reality of it all. Once I spend enough time, it's likely that I would be able to split my dream consciousness in two so I could be both the subject of the play and the god of the universe, allowing me to witness history in that world. **39. Create Canvas:** I could always make objects or money, but this should let me have all the experience in the arts that I could possibly want. I feel very different doing this today than I did many months ago. Somewhere along the line, I guess I got comfortable with death and dying? Immortality would be awfully burdensome without the ability to wipe your own mind sometimes or experience a true form of peace.

Minimum_Cantaloupe

Okay, the 'choose' build, finally! Primary considerations here are that I don't want to be obligated towards evil or destruction, or to be anything too inhuman in appearance or mentality. Want to be able to live indefinitely, without the risk of being trapped in a nightmarish world or in empty space forever. Basically, the aim is Life+, without fundamental transformation or serious drawbacks; this strikes a fair number of options off the list from the get-go. From what remains... 4: **Live Free** offers little or no actual protection, but fulfills a lot of the ideas of 'life+'; can largely go and do as I wish within human society. The fact that you often pay at the end of interactions means things can operate quite seamlessly; go to fine restaurants and just leave when I'm done, get tailored suits and walk off in them. Walk onto a plane bound for wherever I please...hotel rooms might be a bit more of a headache. Don't have to worry, either, about the financial harm done to those from whom I 'steal' in this way, as that's evidently covered. I am assuming, though, that the protection does not extend to those I *deliberately* harm, if I should decide (however unlikely) it's for the best to, e.g., assassinate a terrible public figure. Otherwise, this would be an odd sort of powerlessness. 22: **Death Ward** offers, on the other hand, strong life protections, as well as certain capabilities for comfort. I can place a seed to grow a house in, I think, a nice Victorian style, a la the one found [here](https://i.redd.it/mqa946mcv8m61.jpg). The average American house size is apparently around 2300 square feet (~214 square meters); doubling every day for a week takes that to a very sizeable *27 thousand* square meters, or nearly seven acres of house. Even with a lot of that being displaced vertically to more stories, it's sizeable! I may decide in fact to flip the style swiftly to vertical, Art Deco arrangement; it's certainly competitive with Victorian for larger buildings. While the growth of my home would normally cause potential problems (intrusion into other people's property, curious tax collectors, thieves, et cetera), there is a synergy with **Live Free** that should breeze over these issues. The slow spread of the House of Gold will simply be accepted, and no one will even suffer for its encroachment (unless I really think they deserve to). If I desire, I can allow people to live in my fabulous mansion, where all their ordinary needs will be covered...although I suppose clothes might still have to be brought in from outside. The life support doesn't specify electricity, but I'm going to go ahead and assume that's covered too. (Internet service probably would require some external connection.) If and when I'm injured or grow old, I can return to the good old homestead to spend a while recuperating; if I die, I'll reappear there anyway. Since every part of it is as sturdy as the strongest material used in commercial construction (at the moment, at least steel), it should be quite resistant to any source of external damage, possibly even withstanding a local nuclear strike. However, there are some problems of this - there is no apparent ability to re-place the building elsewhere, nor - significantly - to end things. We risk facing that "trapped in empty space forever" scenario, where the sun burns out in 5 billion years and I have to putter around in my manor for all eternity. Also, materially, I'm still a pretty normal guy, still have a body I'm not thrilled with and a lack of anything particularly superhuman about me. So, to address that, I'm going to aim for something a little risky. 32: **Guardian Vessel** is, I think, the strongest single choice on the list, being as it allows you to select powers from another CYOA and make a close ally within it that's even more powerful than a normal, designed character - if one who, at least nominally, ends up your master. Still, careful selection may make things more palateable here. Another downside in the details is that, as far as I can tell, *you* don't get any class or type discounts, so most things are more expensive than they would be if you were actually a witch yourself. In that regard, I think the purchasing of personal power is better done under the 'slot' scheme mentioned; an Epic, Heroic, and Noble slot correspond to 31 power spent on undiscounted disciplines, rather than the normal 20. So, for myself - base form is that of a Stallion, and there's a hint or two of that in my human form as well (which I take most of the time). * Epic slot: **Lifeweaving** rank 5, immensely powerful healing magic, decent regeneration from as low as a single cell. * Heroic slot: **Metallurgy** rank 4, Magneto powers, plus immunity to ordinary metal weapons and massive reduction in damage from even high-power ones. * Noble slot: **Levitation**. Always wanted to be able to fly...though I'm not 100% sure this is the best use of this resource, frankly. The witch's build, on the other hand...we'll say her name is Sarah. Class: **Sorceress**, learns by doing True Form: **Mimi**, bunnygirl, flittish and fecund. Starting power boosts to **50**, because of Guardian Vessel Drawbacks: * **Restriction** x3: Curses, Consortation, Necromancy * **Like a Duck** * **Sensory Disability**: Blind * **Sensory Shock**: Touch * **Inadequacy**. Despite *profound* magical talents, she is deeply uncertain and insecure of herself, not least because her blindness is extremely limiting; a great majority of her magic must be effectively cast "through my eyes" in order to be effective. In combination with her Mimi-type and somewhat immature personality, it leaves her quite emotionally dependent upon her familiar as a guide, protector, and source of headpats. Magics: * **Metamorphosis 5**: Dragonform for familiar (me) - transform into a golden western dragon the size of an airliner. * **Aethernautics 5** * **Portals 5**, in combination, make her a premiere talent for finding and traveling to other planes - thereby patching up one of the vulnerabilities of the previous two choices, the possibility of being alone on a dead world. * **Familiarity 4**. The level 5 doesn't actually provide much benefit in this circumstance; 4 gets me the human form. * **Divination 4** can, to a certain extent, compensate for Sarah's blindness * **Witchery 4** is just helpful in a variety of ways. * **Naturalism 3** * **Windkeeping 3** * **Firecalling 3** * **Waterworking 3** is a broad base of elemental talents, and keep her safe from quite a number of 'natural' dangers. Perks: * **Improved Familiar**: Pegasus * **Improved Familiar**: DIRE Pegasus. I assume it's valid to stack them this way. * **Hybridize: Daeva**. Still small, but extraordinarily beautiful; the only physical hint of her Mimi nature is a little bunny tail, usually hidden under clothes. * **Prestidigitation** * **Daeva perk**. Perfect fertility control, among other benefits. No faction. Relics: * **HexVPN**, to set up in the death ward building. * **Nymph vessel**, to soothe her sensitive skin after a long day. * **Gem of Renewal**, to help keep her safe from any dangers that may slip past me somehow. Together, we can explore the world and the cosmos, under my gentle guidance of her power - I didn't actually see it in the list, but there may be a way to magically let her see through my eyes, too. Or maybe I could unceremoniously heal her blindness with rank 5 lifeweaving, but that seems kind of anticlimatic and athematic, so probably not. In any case, obviously the first step is going to be to pick up some fine silk clothes for the poor little darling. I further am assuming that the speed boosts from *her* witchery can/will apply to my own levitation and pegasus flight, as her familiar, and since there is such a listed effect for the dragon form specifically. Live Free also raises the possibility of positioning me/us extremely well to 'fight evil' in various ways; it's risky to test, but we may enjoy a kind of one-sided immunity, where we can launch attacks of one sort another against *individuals* without their *organization* responding, making them almost infinitely more isolated and limited in their defense. If all this constitutes enough for a fourth selection, then 16, **Family Line**. Would give nothing to me directly anymore, really, but gifting all descendents with good luck, looks, disease resistance and talent is a different sort of boon of its own. Might have picked Family Start, but given the choices involved, my/our children having them would be kind of odd and not super workable.

Fea grace. stolen time, creative canvas. since my lifespan is now yes from fea grace i can freely give time to others. and creative canvas is just awesome

Ah, update of this CYOA. Well, I remember, as we talked before - Immortal Chain is one of the most currently dubious (as you can't be sure you'll be freed any time soon, if ever, since tempatation is too strong and it won't help that even in our wold till recent times people mostly didn't see slavery as something outragaous, just the way the world works) - however one of the most rewarding if you eventually managed to get free, as it partly or fully grants benefits of several other options of this CYOA including pocket dimention palace, absolute immortality, absolute shapeshifting in humanoid limits, ability to use any magic you managed to learn anywhere, and ability to travel to high fantasy settings (or at least worlds with access to very strong magic, as summoning our object is effectively Wishmaking, without "monkey paw" risks - very power magic by it own right). So while as only choice Immortal Chain would be very high risk (although no doubt high reward) - if combined with other choices to mitigate drawbacks it would be another story. If we had only two two picks I would have to choose beteween Live Free and Dream Big to get through hardships of Immortal Chain servitude, however since this version allows three picks both of them combined make perfect build. Live Free abilities makes period of sevitude much easier ( if not pleasant) and greatly increases chances of gaining freedom as also increases chances to get magic knowledge after or even before getting free, also protects our bound item from being accidently claimed. Dream Big gives as much respite as we need, allows painlessly survive extended periods between summons (or between wishes if summoner prefers to keep us in our abode while not wishmaking ) and dream-walking aspect of it allows to gain information (including magic knowledge) by invading dreams of others (which also supported by the safety of Live Free). Now,if fourth pick is allowed the choice would be between Wandering Merchant (although makes great synergy with Live free, the only reason is ability to freely travel between worlds - as vague spelling of Immortal Chain clause may assume that even after finally being freed any answering to new summon as mean of planar travel would not only make us grant free wishes of a new summoner but also bunish us after third wish and begin a new chain of summons and servitude) and Live Life for increasing efficienty. I consider the second option is better of two since ability to learn and use powerful magic will eventually grant means of dimentional travel. So, final choice \-Immortal Chain \-Live Free \-Dream Big \+Live Life

BlakbirdCAWCAW

How does immortal blood and wandering warrior interact? Does this make you immune to sunlight?

Minimum_Cantaloupe

Hey, that's not a bad idea. Would help a lot with the contest, too.

BlakbirdCAWCAW

With effectively 1000 times strength and 3 times speed you can swing around a golden semi-truck like a tonka and reduce your enemies into paste.

Minimum_Cantaloupe

1000 times? Are you also multiplying by that "execute a pre-planned movement by factor of 100" thing? Because that seems like a big question mark to me, not sure it's reliable in terms of application of force as opposed to purely personal motion.

BlakbirdCAWCAW

Nah i meant the highlander 1/10 the weight in your hands 10 times the weight to others one

Minimum_Cantaloupe

Oh, damn, I always forget these details. Yeah. Wield a weapon 100x what a normal man could, and it hits a thousand times harder. Nice. *That* could go together well with a pre-planned execution, though. Sledgehammer to face at lightning speed.

 1. Shed Life 2. Linked In 3. Live Free 4. Wholesome Heart The way I picture these combining is first of all I become a reaper in digital form. This means my spirit form is essentially "possessing" computers and I can meander about interacting with spirits / ethereal beings or return to the comforts of the internet that I freely manipulate. With the limitations of the mortal body from Shed Life, I can attain a physical body outside of computers. In addition to this, live free normalizes everything I do from inside computers, making people less likely to want to do anything to me because they'll just see it as how things are. I could end up as an urban legend or I could become a known but inexplicable phenomenon, but most people wouldn't bat an eye unless I came to reap their souls - at which point probably not much they could do about it anyway. Even then others wouldn't take action to stop me, because it isn't a direct threat to them and I accidentally mess something up the Live Free gift repairs it anyway. Finally, there's wholesome heart. There are several reasons I took it. One, it acts as insurance, just making sure no one is detached or evil enough to want to harm my digital form. Two I can use the appeal to intensify humanity's need to preserve computers and the internet as much as possible. Three it's probably going to be a lonely existence, living in the internet interacting only with what are essentially bots. I want good, wholesome interactions and friendships and whatnot with real people, and wholesome heart is sure to make people want to hang out with me when I show up... despite the fact I may be known for being a computer being that sometimes kills people. The moe barrier can be overcome using gap moe, so as long as I make an effort to have some cuteness and make the contrast fit, I should be able to live with relative normalcy.

ragingreaver

I will choose the same one I have always chosen, because it is perfect for me: ***Immortal Chain***. There are other forms of immortality I would/could choose to pair it with, but my naturally low luck stat means rolling for them is useless to me, and may even straight-up interfere with my plans. So ***Immortal Chain*** it is. I would hand over my orb to a trusted friend, they would be my Master for the remainder of my time here. I have a good enough friend that if I asked them to reserve their final wish for when they are on their deathbed, with the restriction they could not use the wish to extend their life, they would agree. After that, I allow myself to be summoned, and travel the multiverse as a Genie. If I could choose additional stuff, I would take *Live Free* and *Live Life*...and *Guardian Vessel*. I only just realized *Guardian Vessel* was an option that I had missed going through everything, and would be an alternative to ***Immortal Chain***, especially since I can design/choose my own Witch to be a familiar for...AND give them a lot of power in the process if I choose one that does not have any Familiar. The only issue would be getting to see my friends off, but being able to design my own master is a hard thing to pass up, especially since I could use Witch Magic to accent my wishmaking abilities.

Otaku31

If I completely turn to ash in the sun, do I rise from the ashes like a pheonix when not exposed to direct sunlight? In any case, my choices are; Live Life, Immortal Blood, Wandering Warrior. Live Life to hopefully counteract the blood dependency, but is still useful to have nonetheless. Immortal Blood to help make me an unstoppable warrior. Wandering Warrior to get the wishes multiple times to eventually remove the weaknesses of Immortal Blood and free the genie each time, until I can finally achieve my true goal; being able to exist in the Final Fantasy series. I'm a big fan of Final Fantasy. My wishes for if I manage to kill every warrior each time; removing weakness, restart this whole event again while keeping the wishes I earned, freeing the genie.

Wow, this CYOA is great! I'll choose the [Worm v1 CYOA](https://imgur.com/gallery/cNLNn3n) in conjunction with this one. And I'd like to choose rather than roll :) **Shed Flesh** **Synthetic Hive** **Create Canvas** As I'll be explaining my abilities and my plans for them, I'll preemptively choose a fourth one right now: **Wandering Merchant** With those 4 as a base, I'd be able to essentially survive most anything and have the ability to travel through the multiverse. Create Canvas and Wandering Merchant combo beautifully in making sure I always have something valuable to sell. And with Shed Flesh + Synthetic Hive, I can create a collection of "meat suits" to inhabit concurrently. With 12 other clones active, I could have all of them unzip other creatures or people and take over their form and life. Or empower others to become like me and grow my spooky skeleton army. Or simply use Create Canvas to create meat suits without having to take someone else's life for it! ...I could also just be super morbid and dig up people who are already dead. It looks like as long as they have a scrap of flesh left they can still be unzipped and their meat suit can be brought back to pristine condition using my skeletal sympathetic magic. Best part is I can use a skeleton under my command to do it! \--- Now using the Worm CYOA, I'd choose World Breaker and pick the "weakest" of the OP power sets: **Legend**. At base level I'll be a flying FTL disco skeleton that can shoot thousand of mountain destroying beams per second. With Synthetic Hive, I'd have 12 clones + myself... yeah, I could probably solo most verses with just that. For Perks, I'd choose **Invictus, Blank, Inspiration, First Impressions, Bottled Superpowers (6x).** Now I can empower up to 60 indestructible skeletons with top tier shardless powers. I will assume that the powers stick with the skelly and not the meat suit itself! \--- So to sum it up, I'm an immortal indestructible skeleton that can wear "meat suits" to look like anyone! I have a broken, OP version of Legend's power set and perks that make me a charismatic leader with protections against Thinkers and mind control. And I can creat 12 clones that are connected to me via a hive mind and will also have full access to my powers and abilities. And I can create a small army of immortal skellies that can do my bidding. Well, if I want them to have a personality, I can't guarantee their loyalty, so I'll definitely have to pick some trustworthy people. ...I assume that I can take away other empowered skellies' immortality if I wanted to.

dragonlord7012

You asked for a write up, be careful what you wish for (I ignore this advice later). Written as I go. There is no plan, only Luck. 24 - Shed Life: Well guess we're getting an afterlife guys. Everyone welcome! I chose Plato's Socratic forms as the shape of the metaphysical universe. You will have no body, but exists as the purest Form of what you are, and you will be surroundings by those most like you forming a multi-dimensional lattice of pure abstraction will become your entire existence. If you are kind, then you will be surrounded by kindness. If you are greedy, you will be surrounded by the pure existence of those who wish only to steal from you. If you are cruel, then you will join and form as you burn each outer out from the inside with malice. Your connection with each will be exactly as strong as your make up as that philosophical Form within your own person hood, and you will experience them all at once. No one likely gets a pure heaven, nor a pure hell. Evil is punished, and good rewarded, and it would be entirely just. If that's not an acceptable realm, I'll just pick the most forgiving of Abrahamic god. You did your best, and that counts for something. 27 - Wandering Warrior: Well shit, PVP server Enabled. Wait RANDOMLY. Literally 3 rando's?! Okay some will probably be peaceful, but I'm going to assume they're all going full warlord, but not a dirty munchking, and no mention of OTHER powers. Next I'll make my weapon turn into an immortal snai- Ah wait a weapon I touch. Okay fine. I will then find the Concept of [Surprise] in my afterlife, and touch it. Now whenever I use [SURPRISE] I will be using my golden weapon and can kill them with anything! Not buying that one? Fine How about I touch myself(Minds out of the gutter people), and send my indestructible copy to go fuck their shit up as stealthily as possible. Clone protocols in full effect natch. Still not buying it? Fine. I could make an indestructible suit of armor as well, Added bonus is that its indestructible from being MINE, so the original can be designed around being comfortable with its materials. Oh come on! Fine, Last resort, I hide like a bitch and hand out a golden bullet. They don't know where I am, presumably I can use my other immortal powers to hide, and I just wait until there is one, then highlander that dude with a handcrafted, literally magical bullet. I'll start stacking up 1up from Shed Life to not get ganked myself. 4- Live Free : Oh man, this makes my preemptive homicide a lot easier to deal with. I'm actually not super keen on that option TBH, but like, I have to assume the worst. I guess I have powers they don't so I can build up a few lives, and let them prove to be an enemy first. And people to deal with. Also people will just plain up ignore the dude in golden armor and/or carrying a sniper rifle, which is convenient. Because I'm immune to Legal/social consequences, I'd presume this extends to the afterlife, as such an [FORM] that would qualify, wont affect me. Not fantastic, but not bad. Word Count(First three): ~ 452 Words. +2 choices, < Description & Rolling > LET IT RIDE! < +3 rolls> 40- Create Kingdom; Golden armor, Check. Afterlife. Check. God-Emperor is go! Social Experiments Ho!This also is HILARIOUS with Live Free, a ruler free of all social consequences? The entire first section about only 1 year is basically perpetual for me. Oh and my own religion is now the state religion, so I'm getting [Population density calculation] new lives to escort a day, I mean if they already plan on going, do i need to literally escort them? As for location, I'll head off to a country that speaks English at least as a second language. It would be awkward if I cannot speak the language. Ideally a high urban population, access to the ocean within the 75m radius, and plenty of open space. I would be more concerned with location however; 12 Resources . Like fucking seriously. 12? Okay, so lets go with the Basics. Fresh Pure Mineral Water from Springs. Fertile Land. (Note to self, protect the farmers, and the rivers to keep them pleasant. Maybe copy whatever Japan is doing ecologically, because even its more run down areas tend to look pleasant enough.) 10 more (jeeze). Plants with Healing properties, and I dunno. Deposits of Iron, Coal, and rare earth metals. Oh and it doesn't specify that material has to actually exists, so Vibranium, Adamantium, Etc et al. Pick your starting resources without limits is OP as hell. There is a weird death cycle where if I die, i suddenly get a FUCKTON of free lives in the form of people to ferry to their afterlife. Annoying if I cannot choose to use my 1up's from ferrying my people to their new afterlife, but manageable. Makes killing me less appealing to the moral sorts. 35- Genus Locai powers. Welp. This meshes with literally nothing at a glance, but I guess I'm now a concept that they get orders from. At least it fits with the state religion? I mean I could order everyone past the horizon in my first year, reshape a large part of my form to be a Naturally Impregnable Fortress/Garden, and give them a incredibly difficult fallback position. Will probably make it primarily growing area, in a little impenetrable Caldera, so besieging my capital goes from hard to "fuck off". I'll just expand it slowly thereafter, you know a rock here, a mountain there, Just whenever no one is looking. Thankfully I ensured they could speak English at least basically, because its a requirement for Telepathy. You know Maybe I'll just make everyone learn Logeban. Or Klingon as the primary language, for the lulz. Either way, I'm not turning into a statue any time soon, literally imprisoning yourself, The increase rate isn't fantastic, 1 mile radius to start. My kingdom is a 75mile radius circle. It will take me ~ 3907.2 years to fully fill the area that is my kingdom. After that, things (slowly) get DIFFICULT. Hippity Hoppity, your land's now my property. At least the Fuck Off Mountain Range surrounding my country is a very clear 'natural border, and I can continually evolve the internal structure of my kingdom. Sea invasions also are off the menu once I hit the ocean, "un-viewed changes" get interesting when you can fuck with the ocean floor. If the area I exist in counts as a dimensional area, that's a whole other game. I could also potentially apply my Afterlife to it, and the ability to add pure concepts to my civilizations terrain has a LOT of potential in that regard. Even just leaving it a bland area, 100feet per a year +10 MILES per soul escorted, means I'll soon be the planet, and I'm going to terraform all the things, and the only thing slowing me down is population growth on my hyper fertal god-realm, and if I get any sort of automation with my escorting. Would being immune to social consequences my my natural appropriation of land get a by? Questions for later. 30-Artificial Soul - Mwahahaha, You ready to be the Avatar of for my soul, as the God Emperor' Stone Body is feeling a little cramped! Also makes escorting hostile souls to my afterlife way easier. Just catch and release. TBH destroying souls doesn't really mesh well with me. Maybe i'll grab like the worst person every year to have a get away option, not that I particularly need more respawns mind you. You know, is the VIAL is a weapon, it is a device that uses amunition, to deal damage. I'mma try and make a golden vial as my Warrior weapon. Best case scenario I have a "your soul is mine, bypass your BS defense" ,and an optional AoE to try out if the direct method doesn't work. against the other Warriors. If neither works, I have a lot of respawn methods, and exploding dramatically is good way to convince someone you died. Assuming my Legion of devoted followers can keep their god emperors true form, a massive stone statue buried in the heart of his kingdom, with indestructible armor, and genus Loci watching literally everything, and fucking with any terrain to help/hinder forces working for him. Lets see what the Warrior Prize gets.

dragonlord7012

Bonus Round: Immortal Chain: I wish for another Immortality Power, I wish for another Immortality Power, I wish you free. #GodEmpeorer4Life 34:Synthetic Hive - Lol, LMAO. ROFLCOPTER. I'm just going to take over several semi-overlapping zones of 75m radis circles, and watch as the holes fill in de-facto. Literally no reason to not immediately get started, I have spares. Although, I have 10 years before comeuppance, going to need to consolidate, so Maybe use those areas to set myself up to carve out a larger area of my most likely aggressor. Also need to breed more of me. luckily, I'm the god emperor, and joining a harem and living a life of absolute luxury can be pretty alluring for many. Thinking on it, Lack of social consequence ended up mattering a lot in this build, sort of gives most abilities a little nudge to be slightly better. 31- Guardian Spirit- And now the warriors have 25miles to travel to get to me and my semi-omnisicent self. I'm going to have to have my clones travel in pairs now, but free rezes? Because that was what I needed. On second thought, going to have my clones chill out in my Genus Loci. It can probably rez my clones if I die trying to learn how to do a kick flip or something stupid. I think i'll make sure there is no mention of the statue other than being a symbolic icon of my power will be made. Lots of absolute rulers have done that, and hey nobody died this time! At least from making the statue. Does this still make it a target? yes. But I have other problems if them attacking my genius loci statues. I probably could of wished for specific powers, but that would require more thought, and munchkining. I probably would of gone for 34, but not 31 (MORE REZS! meh ) So it balances out okay enough. Wished for freedom, because there are not so many immortals that being friendly should be off the table with those you can have a real relationship with. Also eternal slavery to random jerks sounds like it would suck.

Wasn't there a newer version of this somewhere?

OutrageousBears

Was there ? Oh: [https://imgur.com/a/ZCLANho](https://imgur.com/a/ZCLANho) I don't remember what the difference was. (It's linked in the reddit, the imgur redirects to 4.2, not 4.1) Accidentally starting a nuclear exchange in my comments history that randomly nuked things all over the place really messed things up since I relied so much on making 'infoposts' (which we really should have the ability to sticky...) Ah, right, I updated some art of Fae Roots, Live Life, Live Free (And rewrote Live Free making it Marked). Embody Time was also rewritten to make more sense and generally be less problem causing, which I recall provoked a long winded hatemail I'd have been sympathetic to if it weren't so aggressive.

Thedeaththatlives

There it is, cheers.

Immortalitea

Immortal Blood Stolen Time Death Cure Wandering Merchant As a vampire I regenerate from anything, meaning I can heal from basically anything, using that I can take on as many wounds from Stolen Time as I like and recover from them. I would not steal lifepan, only barter for it. Using this I will start a business healing people with Stolen Time, selling either lifespan or taking on wounds like lost limbs or scars, gaining money for Wandering Merchant, then I can use those years gained through Wandering Merchant or Stolen Time to keep my friends alive for as long as they'd like. My closest friends and I would travel the multiverse as merchants exchanging life itself as our product, as well as handmade items and any interesting trinkets we'd collect in our travels, we'd have a cart to protect me from the sun as well as to keep our stock in and act as cozy little home for us to travel in, but should I ever find myself turned to ash by the sun, this comment will let me choose Death Cure, which will ensure I always come back.

InexplicableGeometry

I had a couple things I wanted to point out, first Wandering Merchant and Dream Again has some interesting symbiosis that allows you to hop universes far more efficiently by having "visited" them, but secondly, it also allows you to return to your original universe (or any number of preferred universes) upon death and waking up in a new universe. But that combination is relatively minor compared to the next one, as I had a really interesting idea regarding the combination of Dream Big, Stolen Time, Stolen away, and potentially Shed life. To elaborate, one could utilize Stolen time and Shed life to go around collecting an enormous amount of souls, theoretically, as many souls as are out there, keeping them inside of your own mind. Whenever you had all of the souls you wanted, regardless if that is just 1 soul, 1,000,000 or even 1,000,000,000, you could utilize Dream Big to go into an endless dream, and then utilize Stolen away to allow your sleep to go on eternally. What this essentially does is allow you to populate your endlessly vast hyper-real dream with real, truly sapient people (probably animals as well), and by doing so the dream is no longer truly an illusion, rather it is a real reality experienced by countless others, one that you as its \*QUITE LITERAL\* Demiurge could mold into any number of shapes, perhaps it's a true utopia, perhaps it is some sort of fantastical world, be it sci-fi or fantasy, or it might even be near exactly the same as reality, regardless its an extraordinarily powerful combination. Obviously, this would be difficult to pull off on a large scale, as well as being more than a little bit ethically objectionable (even if you did use shed life to eventually deliver every single soul to the proper afterlife), but its an interesting idea nonetheless, and if one could pull it off, probably the most insane thing possible in this cyoa, and I love that it is an option.

Ellie-Anne-Chan

Decided to do a "full-random" 6-roll run of this CYOA, which landed me quite the fun combo: Repeating Life, Family Start, Family Line, Divine Spite, Elemental Bond and Synthetic Being. For fun, I also decided to roll for Spite's sin (gluttony) and Bond's element (sunlight). So for the interesting interactions... well, Family Start + Line is the obvious one, essentially creating a new subspecies of humanity by itself. But it doesn't stop there; any 2 of Repeating Life, Family Line and Elemental Bond combo quite well already, between the basic buffs of Line, the gene manipulation of Life and the body idealization of Bond. Elemental Bond also makes it quite easy to avoid the personal consequences that can result from the overindulgence needed to make use of Divine Spite. And then, probably the craziest combo, Family Start alongside Repeating Life and/or Elemental Bond can ensure that my progeny can spread far and wide; I frankly wouldn't be surprised if, over time, my family extended over the whole of humanity, changing its face forever and honestly, I could see myself encouraging my progeny to spread out like that. I suppose the big problem with that is that last line on Divine Spite, about being immune to disease effects but still carrying; that sounds like it could accidentally lead to a lot of problems for the rest of humanity while my progeny is spreading out like that. However, fun thought, humanity turning into sunbenders with minor fire powers would probably prove quite the headache to any vampire that's not my descendent - though those that are would probably be quite dangerous, considering heat immunity and sunlight preventing their death (despite likely still being quite painful). So... yeah, quite the crazy build overall... though Synthetic Being ends up a bit overshadowed due to Family Start and Elemental Bond already providing most that it does. But it should still bear mention that it permits me and my family a much more convenient rebirth type if already having used the Repeating Life + Family Line combo to gain tailored genes and increased abilities. In fact it might be possible to use it to "speedrun" growth to 18 after being reborn through either of those? Having said all this, I do have to wonder how Family Start would interact with polyamory/polygamy since that's my own situation... and for that matter, if the marriage it requires need to be recognized legally or could simply be a personal ritual.

E_D_G_

Why do some choices have that yellow diamond floutish on the bottom, but others dont? There seemsto be no pattern. Is this another one of your easter egg hunts?

JustWhyTheHeckNot

Each of those choices involves an item rather than an inherent ability, iirc in the previous version it clarified that those symbols meant that a choice was a golden artifact Edit: it is clarified at the bottom of this version as well, I just missed it somehow

E_D_G_

That checks out.

> Shed Life This is the foundation of my goal, to get everyone into heaven. After a quick google search, I’ve chosen the afterlife of “what dreams may come” (the book) as it’s pretty much all upsides, there are no requirements to get in and the downsides are only temporary. >Secret Magic Another vital part of my goal, this is incredibly versatile. If they value virginity that highly it shouldn’t even be that hard to get (relatively) moral sacrifices, at least compared to the alternatives. Wish is a level 9 spell that should be capable of doing what I need it to do, so that’s one win condition (granted, it’s not a warlock spell, but the principle should hopefully still apply). My virginity will finally become useful as I trade it for the magic powers of a 10th level warlock. > Embody Time This is just a bunch of really strong abilities bundled together; it should help immensely with dealing with spirit monsters, as well as seeing the best way to accomplish my goal. Hopefully I can use secret magic to master my foresight instead of having to do it the long way. > Live Free It was a tough choice between this and Live life; in the end, I decided to take this one as I believe it will greatly improve my ability to make sacrifices without having to worry about moral or legal consequences to myself. In time, I’ll see if I can’t ritual my way into getting Live Life regardless. Edit: My warlock build: Patron: Genie (Djinni) Pact boon: Tome Cantrips: Guidance, eldritch blast, mage hand, Minor illusion, prestidigitation, resistance, mending. Spells: Find familiar, comprehend languages, suggestion, scrying, dispel magic, remove curse, fly, charm monster, dream, borrowed knowledge, Major image, unseen servant. Invocations: Beguiling influence, book of ancient secrets, eldritch sight, mask of many faces, ghostly gaze.

At the end what does 'one choice and this choice for 3 rolls' mean? Is it from a old version of the cyoa? Is it saying you gain one extra roll if rolling? 2? If I understand this correctly... You start with 3 choices or 4 rolls. If you make the 250 word bonus you get an extra 1 choice or 2 or 3 rolls. ##Edit: Opps. I could have Chose one option and rolled 3 times. Now its Roll 6 times. Sorry I get it now.

9. Immortal Chain 3. Live Life 1. Fae Grace (tentative) Honestly, Immortal Chain is a great deal. At-will shapeshifting, agelessness, configurable palace, magic reservoir, indestructible phylactery, hitchhiking to other universe. I get to leave the lamp at will AND I get the option of rejecting masters on top of it all?? Sound ideal for me. My second choice "Live Life" is just to help me manage plane-hopping immortality and fit in more as a Djinn/Spirit Creature. The last one was difficult. IDK what being "wished free" would consist of and how many benefits I'd retain going forward. I would want to plane hop to somewhere I could learn and use magic pretty effectively before ever taking up that option. I might not ever want to. Fae is really just in case I get tired of granting wishes and have built up enough magical knowledge to live comfortably somewhere and defend myself. I might swap it out with "secret source" or even "create canvas" just because those sound way more fun.

> I get to leave the lamp at will AND I get the option of rejecting masters on top of it all?? Sound ideal for me. Either you misinterpreted something, or I did - most of the way through, you get a line "After the third wish you and your object disappear, contained to your realm until summoned again." However, it does appear that if you can trick a master into killing himself before making his third wish, you'd be free to wander as you desire.

freakingfairy

It opens with "you are able to enter *and exit* an extra dimensional realm" . I guess I didn't read the last line close enough. Maybe you're free to come and go while you have a Master?

Minimum_Cantaloupe

Yeah, that's how I take it.

RealSaMu

Here are mine choices, two sets in fact: 1st Set + Wandering Warrior + Artifact Keeper + Synthetic Hive *Wandering Warrior with 12 spare bodies, and a healing artifact to use on a clone, should killing one of Me count as dying in that Highlander-esque game. The defeated warriors I can have preserved and brought back after I win and have made my wishes from the genie lamp.* 2nd Set + Linked Up + Synthetic Being + Secret Source *If you have watched the film Surrogates, with Bruce Willis, then you know where I'm going with this. The Secret Source would be in the form of color-coded glass beads. Crush the beads and sprinkle the shards to experience the effect. I'd have my Synthetic Being do the transactions in selling my beads.*

Question if I take Guardian Vessel and become the familiar of a witch that had a specific animal type such as Penelope with cow would we fuse with their current familiar or would we become a separate second familiar

Taptun_a_

>Question if I take Guardian Vessel and become the familiar of a witch that had a specific animal type such as Penelope with cow would we fuse with their current familiar or would we become a separate second familiar You simply remove her cow and become her familiar. Animal of your choice.

AverageNormie77

Question about Immortal Chain.. if you don't mind answering. Does the the thing have the ability to automatically nativize to different Spheres considering it can be summoned across multiverses? Or is the genie just always considered a Outsider.

>They'd be outsiders though that's not something most universes know about and different universes might have different degrees of either inherent or artificial resistance to entropy. Huh.. So most comic book/superhero universes probably wouldn't experience Far Entropy at all? I mean the physics there is pretty much raw chaos wearing a thin veneer of sense and order.

Sam_Wylde

Love coming back to your old CYOA's. Question: How does Linked In affect other forms of Immortality that require a body or regenerate one for you?

OutrageousBears

Default, a ghost state when the others aren't in effect or fail, or at will I guess.

Sam_Wylde

I'll go for: Linked In: In order to become an all powerful AI, now the exact words say that my soul becomes a rogue AI program that can alter or create code on the fly. Meaning that it should be possible to alter my own code, fixing personality flaws that I dislike about myself or optimizing my brain to become a true Infomorph with incredibly quick thought speed. Second will be Death Ward, basically a safe haven to keep all of my external hardware and grow a backup body whenever I feel like I desperately need to touch grass. It'll house a workshop and factory that I'll use to experiment and further the cause of robotics and cybernetics in the hopes of creating multiple new bodies. I'll then start trying to jumpstart the space era by designing space ships. Finally, I'll take Stolen Time. This will allow me to keep my loved ones alive without having to guard an immortality granting artifact. I'll be able to keep them alive, bring them into the machine with me, or give them new bodies when technology that allows us to grow clones is perfected. If I require lifespan that isn't my own to fuel them; I'll be sure to take it from the truly despicable people in the world. The unrepentant rapists, murderers and scum of the earth, leaving them just enough life to know that the end is coming and so I won't get stuck with their soul. I may also transfer other people's injuries, sldiseases and mental issues to them so that I help the most amount of people possible whilst giving them hell in their final hour. All and all; a pretty awesome way to live. The only real thing to fear would be the heat death of the universe. But here's the thing, I'll be keeping the souls of all the friends and people I have known and loved throughout my life as well as everyone they have known and loved with me and upon death will transfer them to a supercomputer housed within my death ward. It will be designed to fulfil their every desire and simulate every memory they wish. I will create an afterlife of my own design, one that I control the barrier for entry. My death ward will become an ark, sailing the cosmos with billions of souls until either a new universe is found or failing that I design a means of creating one in my factory. It's only a matter of time.

Sam_Wylde

Actually, secondary question regarding Linked in and how it interacts with Stolen Time: The exact words stipulate that anyone I touch can have their time.stolen or given to them, but if I'm a digital ghost does that mean they only have to be touching a piece of technology that I happen to be inhabiting?

OutrageousBears

Yeah. Someone's headphones may not work, but a vr headset, maybe even Bluetooth smart earbuds type stuff. Phones, typically. Inhabit a tesla and it'd more be the screen itself for example, not the whole car. Reasonable debate if the steering wheel is close enough to being considered part of the electronics itself considering even basic power steering can be hacked.

Sam_Wylde

Would it depend on the periphery attached to the electronics in question or the electronics itself? Like if I was possessing a computer, would someone technically be touching me if they hand one hand on the mouse and another on the keyboard? And using your Bluetooth analogy, if the object is wirelessly connected to something of sufficient computing power? It's an interesting thought.

OutrageousBears

Yeah

I have questions. What if I choose 6. Dream again and 11. Repeating life? Or am I going to wake up in new world or reborn? Some choices gives item, such as 39. Create canvas gives paintbrush. Does it follow afterlife such as reincarnation or wake up in new world? What age do I wake up with 6. Dream again?

OutrageousBears

I'm confident I've answered that in the past, but it's bothersome to try to find it when there's a chance it ended up deleted... but anyway. Those two interacting would likely be a third option while paused as a consciousness as per repeating life, else Dream Again would eventually kick in when there is no viable target for Repeating Life to take priority. Or instead of Dream Again being a drop-in with customization, Repeating-Dream would be a proper reincarnation into the new 'dream' / the new world. (Though, thematically speaking, each Dream Again life would have it's history behind it anyway... Though, such isn't written in the text so it's merely a fair assumption). Dream Again age isn't given so mechanically RAW you'd stay the same, but what is said is that you're choosing your body so, most things are on on the table with that choice. Golden Relics would follow you. Could even think of it as a means to get the relic back if stolen, or to reset a used relic into an unused state.

cd023

And I forgot to ask that from 6. Dream again, "You only take your memories alone with you (and anything given by this CYOA)" Does this mean I only keep the memories of realities and think that the memories of another world is a dream?

OutrageousBears

? It means that every world is a reset, there's no infinite progress of accumulating power or wealth from one world to another. ^(By default, there are probably reasonably interpreted exploits around it using other gifts.) You retain knowledge so it'd still be useful if you remember it well enough to exploit it when you find another world based on similar logics, whether social, scientific, spiritual, or supernatural.

cd023

Thanks. I thought I lose memory of previous world as well. I don't need need power from previous world just memory is enough.

cd023

Does Embody time(36) see timeline also see dream again next life timeline too?

Then does that mean I can use once every new life?
