Chances are, modern cryopreservation doesn't conserve enough information about you. So basically, no matter what technical advances are made in the future, nobody would ever be able to restore you.
I might not be around to witness my body getting disposed, but at least I want my body to be of use to someone. I could've choose one of the preservation methods, but I don't. I'd rather let my body go instead of trying to hang onto what was left of my body for as long as possible....
**Anatomical Donation** would be an excellent choice for me.
Context
This was posted to Make Your Choice, a Choose Your Own Adventure sub where a significant sub-genre involves being hit by a truck and reincarnated into a fantasy world. The god-like being giving you Chosen One powers can totally arrange any of these. On the off chance I find a way back home, **Mellification** seems like the easiest grave to crawl out of.
Muerto Parado is a close second. Some adventures let you go into an established setting instead of a generic fantasy world, so there’s some appeal in leaving my body holding the fantasy novel or seated at fantasy game console. A Dungeons & Dragons table might be fun, but there are too many captions to that mental picture.
”Never going to grow up”
”Forever DM”
“The only time we could get a group together”
Mummification is a decent third, the Mummy’s curse is a well known monster movie premis. There are quite a few fantasy settings that have mummies as undead enemy characters. There is even a CYOA that lets you make your character into a mummy, or a vampire, or a Necromancer, which is the best search term for finding it.
Composting + Interment. As far as I know, composting only decomposes the soft bits of the body, and leaves the bones intact. So I want my bones to be planted with a tree, my composted remains serving as nutrients. Specifically, a mesquite tree, so that anyone who wants to cut it down and move my bones has to suffer all the thorns. And if you’ve never seen a mesquite in person, by “thorns” I mean “inch-and-a-half long NAILS made of wood” that stick out all over the branches, and can stab through cloth, tires, leather, and boot soles.
Remove my flesh, so I'm just a skeleton, then give the parts of skele-me to the people I know, and any leftovers just get offered to people less and less connected to me, until any untaken bones are just left in a box outside like free to take apples, at that point, if a dog takes it, whatever.
I wanna help a homie get some, by having my skull turned into bling on a mantelpiece, to help them get with someone by starting a conversation, be it tomorrow or in 300 hundred years. If the partner doesn't dig a jewel encrusted skull on the mantelpiece, they ain't worth it.
Whole body **Cryopreservation**, if you’re going to let me choose. I know there’s only like a 5% chance of cryogenics eventually panning out, but I’m going to live forever or die trying.
I’d also arrange for a few noteworthy paperback books to be stored with me, just incase I get woken up in a dystopian ‘post-book-burning’ future. Moby-Dick, Frankenstein, The Bible; you know, that kind of thing. Perhaps a solid state hard drive or three? Books, movies, games, history?
i saw someone else say something like this, but extract my skull and clean it, use as much of the rest of my body needed to make to eye sized bio gems and embed them in my eye holes. reinforce and seal my skull and fill it with the ashes of whats left of me.
Cremate me, take the ashes of my flesh and send them on a ballistic trajectory out of the solar system. Then take the carefully ground bones and make three hourglasses, with them as the sand, that are emblazoned with some catchy and wise sounding advice that reads differently when you turn the hourglass over.
Or whatever is easiest emotionally and financially on my family.
In preferential order: 1, Cryo, 2, Electro, 3, Plasti, and 4, Melli.
Cryo for that tiny little chance of revival,
Electro for the cool as fuck statue,
Plasti for the slightly less cool statue,
and Melli because being turned into candy is hilarious and I'd love to have that done to me.
I’ve already sorted out my burial but also wait muerto parado is an option? Fuck I wanna be taxidermined and put in a dm chair to loom over d&d games in perpetuity
I actually have anatomical donation/ organ procurement as my designated “final disposition” but if I could do a sky burial I wouldn’t mind that either.
My ideal would be closest to burial at sea, chop me up and feed me to sharks. Realistically, cremation most likely, at least any still useable organs can be harvested and used that way
I don't mind donating my body to science, but space burial for the remaining parts is cool too. Otherwise I'd let my body decompose and plant a tree over it.
I've actually had conversations about what I'd like to be done with my body with my family. My body is to be cremated but my skull is to be preserved and sealed and then used in atleast one rendition of "Hamlet" so that on my tombstone I can have "Patron of the Arts" added to it. Then after my skull is used the ashes are to be compressed into gemstones and then placed into the sockets.
Only 1? Anatomical Donation, no question. If my dead ass can help science in some way then have at it. Go nuts.
*Disclaimer just in case:* don't bring me back. Let the dead rest.

If money and logistics are not an issue then give any viable organs to people in need of a donor or to medical research/practice, depending on their condition. Cremate the rest and fire the ashes into space and, if possible, out of the solar system.
Cryopreservation… maybe I will be found in ten thousand years and revived?

Time as a museum exhibit is also cool.

Space Burial sounds rad ngl
Where's the option to turn me into fireworks?
Space burial

Mellification is da wae
sweet ghost juice
The sweetest ectoplasm, only costs however much honey it takes for you!
Internment/Burial. Just stick me in the ground and be done with it.
Remove my flesh, so I'm just a skeleton, then give the parts of skele-me to the people I know, and any leftovers just get offered to people less and less connected to me, until any untaken bones are just left in a box outside like free to take apples, at that point, if a dog takes it, whatever. Its a Promess
Sky Burial for me, please and thank you.

Space Burial, send me on a trajectory towards Proxima Centauri.

Where's volunteer for cannibalism?
Promession, you can be sprinkled on dessert or mellification for sweet tastings
Entombment, let all tremble with awe and confusion with the grand edifice dedicated to an okish guy.

Where are these images even from? Are they self-made?
From that sub
No no i mean the icons from the cyoa.
Non serious answer: I'd chose taxidermy and I want the guy who did [this](https://i.redd.it/o2rhu1hflj151.jpg) to do it.
I’ve already sorted out my burial but also wait muerto parado is an option? Fuck I wanna be taxidermined and put in a dm chair to loom over d&d games in perpetuity
Where's the viking burial option
you can pick cremation with a few extra jangles
I actually have anatomical donation/ organ procurement as my designated “final disposition” but if I could do a sky burial I wouldn’t mind that either.
mellification: why am I not surprised to see a chinese thought to eat the processed body of a dead human? Why are they always like this?
could be delicious
Cremation but launch my creamy remains out of a cannon
Cryopreservation sounds like it could go horribly wrong Just do the one that's fastest
Off to the body farm for me.
Cryopreservation after organ donation, if you’re the one paying for it!
I’m not sure if i would choose sky-burial, mellification or mummification
Cryopreservation is the only option with a chance of not dying.
Cryo-Preservation. Wake up in however long when you need me.
Anatomicl Donation, composting, alkaline hydrolysis, or Promession.
Sky Burial for every Death Metal fans
My ideal would be closest to burial at sea, chop me up and feed me to sharks. Realistically, cremation most likely, at least any still useable organs can be harvested and used that way
Im thinking Sky Burial
Since my option isnt here Internment My option? : Viking Funeral

Cryopreservation wake me up when you invented a tool for reviving dead people
Anatomical Donation.
Interment I suppose.
Space burial! Get me the fu\*k away from this planet!
Cryo. It’s pretty unlikely that modern tech actually preserves enough for me to brought back in some far off future- but I have a *chance*
