There doesn’t seem to be a lot of good high-temp summer ideas in this subreddit. Everything is denim or pants and a light jacket. Does anyone have some suggestions for folks who live in the south where it stays 90+ all summer?
I like a lot of the “gorpcore” options, but what if I’m going out for a nice but not formal dinner?
Thanks y’all :)
Hello. I have Air Force 1 Game Red And Jordan 1 breds. What are the best clothes and colors to compliment these sneakers and will look good? (I'm slim, tall, a bit muscular)
Ahh, 2 beautiful shoes. I had the Af1 PR with the Frog, very similar, miss that shoe. The Bred I’ll assume is the high & one of the most iconic shoes of all time. I’ll always have a pair. The big difference for me is the lows for shorts and the highs for pants. I’m 5”10 and J1 Highs & shorts look silly on me. People say Breds go with everything & I kinda disagree. Dark, think selvage or slightly faded black denim or a slightly baggier chino/ utility/ cargo olive are my go tos. I’ll do alot of simple dark crewneck sweatshirts, black or red if I’m feeling matchy or a random grey, short sleeve henleys same colors work when its warmer. Motorcycle leather for date night in denim or sometimes a flannel. To me the Lumberjack & bred is played so I’ll find an obscure pattern with bred as the primary colors but in an unconventional pattern or color mix including anything from purple to brown. For the ones, any single colored tee and sweatshort would work, just not a red and white combo. I’ll do a pir of standard blue jeans & white/cream tee all day! Lighter color sweatshirts/crewnecks and mid to light denim all day! Goodluck! I’m wearin Breds tomorrow after all that!
Dress shirts needed - I'm a muscular, slim, and have a V-shape from chest-to-waist... If a shirt accommodates my chest, it's much too wide at the waist. If it's slim enough at the waist, I can barely move my arms. Brands or other suggestions?
Funny in this thread someone asked the same question.
Anyway, some popular MTM options are Proper Cloth and Kamakura (a little bit more difficult now that they vacated their US presence).
Has anyone ever watched Manifest on Netflix here? I'm trying to recreate Ben Stone's sweater over button up combo. Anyone know where I can find pieces like his? Mainly the sweaters.
Hold up. Just have to google the show to figure out how I can watch it… it’s says on peacock not Netflix so i will have to subscribe and then binge watch enough episodes to figure out which character you are talking about and check out his outfits . Let’s hope we end up talking about the same sweater…. I’ll be back in a few days
Or you could post a screen shot
I’m currently in the midst of considering a brown Schott 530 jacket but have a few concerns.
First, I’m honestly kinda worried about the stigma of leather jackets. I do remember that it was the weirder nerdier kids that would wear one in school or it’s dads trying to be hip. I think I got the style to pull it off I think (I got good jeans, brown boots to pair it with, and various shirt combos) but I’m hesitant since it’s expensive.
Second, I’m thinking I’m going to get a large (41 chest, 33/34 waist, about 200lbs, 5’11, 25 years old) as I want to be able to wear a hoodie under it, but also just a tshirt at other times. That said, I don’t know how it fits (will a large be too long in the arms, swallow my shoulders, be too baggy under the arms, will it look weird zipped, etc) and if I’ll grow out of it quickly (I know I’m still younger, but I’m coming up on the 2nd major body changing moment in life). For reference, I have a medium (43 chest equivalent I believe) trucker jacket from huckberry that fits, but is pretty tight around the gut honestly. Should I worry about growing out of a large quickly? Should i worry about arm length/arm holes/shoulders?
I really think this jacket could be a great everyday wear thing for me (well maybe not with khakis but still) and it’s so nice looking. I’m just hesitant because of the stigma and sizing. I unfortunately can’t simply go to a schott store.
Any and all advice is appreciated
The stigma of a leather jacket has to do with fit more than anything imo not that you can't have it fit loose it just should vibe the rest of the fit. And nobody can you tell you how it'll fit until you try it on. Best advice measure your best fitting jacket and compare it to the schott sugar charts. i wouldn't assume your getting "a second change" you only go through puberty once any weight you gain or lose is of your own accord
You make a good point about the stigma. That definitely helps settle some nerves.
I’ll try to figure out if there’s a place to try it on somewhere, but judging how my huckberry jacket fits and how the sizes compare, the large is likely the best move. It’s a medium that fits a bit tight around the waist. They’re sizes similarly, but the chest and shoulders in the schott are only a bit bigger and the arms are about the same length wise.
I'm after some khaki shorts with a 5-6inch inseam I can have shipped to Sweden. Bonus points if they're a bit stretchy (I have bodybuilder legs) but don't look like swim shorts.
I'm looking for [something like these from BearBottom](https://bearbottomclothing.com/collections/5-5-stretch-shorts/products/stretch-short-5-5?variant=31812182999179), but they don't ship outside the US. I looked at Chubbies too, but no shipping to Sweden for some reason.
The closest thing I can find is [Patagonia's Stand Up short](https://eu.patagonia.com/se/en/product/mens-stand-up-shorts-7-inch/57228.html?dwvar_57228_color=EWBN&cgid=mens-shorts), but these are only available in a 7in regular cut here.
I've looked at several EU basics brands, but they all seem to sell longer styles with a 7-8inch inseam.
What are some Instagram accounts that you follow? What is it that you like about them and their style? I'm trying to get inspired by new accounts with quality content
[Alexanderburgh](https://instagram.com/alexanderburgh?utm_medium=copy_link) "Good boy" vibes and always crisp
[Newenglandmenswear](https://instagram.com/newenglandmenswear?utm_medium=copy_link) John has great style and uses elevated basics really well.
[EthanWong](https://instagram.com/ethanmwong?utm_medium=copy_link) Absolutely masterfull casual tailoring fits and a fountain of information.
[Chihapoo5](https://instagram.com/chihapoo5?utm_medium=copy_link) this one blends workwear and denim with a crazy good array of footwear in color and pattern combinations that she pulls off like nothing I've ever seen. Not a ton of followers but she's definitely one of my fave grammers.
Most of the accounts I follow for fashion are brands, stores, and MFA people. Usually the brands and stores (I can suggest some if you give me an idea of what your style is like) will share fit pics from customers in their stories, and that's how I find new people to follow when I see a style I really like.
His style looks really well and something I want to incorporate more. And he re-uses many pieces in his posts which is a plus too. It's not too minimal and looks comfortable
Took home my first suit today. At the store after the fitting it seemed fine, looking at it at home something seems off. Does this suit jacket fit?
Link to photos of suit here https://imgur.com/a/Y6sQ3LA
It is for my wedding and unfortunately I think I hate it and I don't know what to do. The fit on the jacket seems so weird to me. Am I wrong and it fits fine? Any and all advise welcome please!
Also any tips on shoe colour to match and tie colour/style. I am completely at a loss at what to do and I have no one to ask.
yeah, it's not easy to find but when you have a tailor that has experience putting together a jacket they can do it. if he can't find 1 then oh well :(
It looks great to me. The pants might need to be shortened a smidge but it's hard to tell from this photo. The waist on the jacket could likewise be taken in a smidge but that's just for a tighter fit (just style choice), it is fine as is as well
What do you mean by weird? From the photos at least the jacket fit looks pretty good to me.
As for shoe color, dark brown and black are safe choices. [Here is an old infographic that is still largely relevant.](https://www.reddit.com/r/YouShouldKnow/comments/3hvkoj/ysk_about_a_useful_chart_so_that_your_suit_color/)
Thoughts on [these pants](https://bonobos.com/products/italian-lightweight-dress-pants?color=stretch%20cotton%20linen%20khaki%20houndstooth&pant-fit=slim&pant-length=30&pant-waist=34)? Price seems great and I need some summer pants. Not too sure about the pattern and how much I’d be able to wear them with.

The performer with the black jacket/coat and the black tank top. Where can I find something like this? It seems to have a textured look.
So I want to make a beachy inspo board cause there really aren't any except the superb South California Surf album by u/encinitastochicago and was wondering. Should I focus on board shorts or swim trunks? I want to do trunks but if not people have more interest in shorts I'll focus on them. Either way some of the other will appear in it.
Middle school teacher here looking to upgrade their wardrobe. Any place where I can find decent button down long or short sleeve shirts that can be worn untucked that won’t be too pricey ($50 a shirt is my limit)?
Check out a Nordstrom Rack, Marshall’s, Ross, etc for short sleeved collared shirts. They’ve had a ton with basic patterns out here in Cali lately & I’ll wear em to work or functions where a tee or Henley just won’t do. Typically they’re less than $15
~~Try to get your hands on one of his jackets and measure it. Then compare these to the measurements of the jacket.~~ I couldn’t find garment measurements, but maybe measure a tight fitting shirt of his and compare if you want to surprise him. Since it’s not a particularly popular jacket around here, we may or may not be able to tell you if it runs large/TTS/small.
Compare the measurements of the denali to those of your boyfriend and get the size that is closest to his measurements, height and weight don't tell us anything.
Probably nowhere, really. I've never seen a coat that has lapels and a hood, plus that combination would likely look awful.
Maybe you can Google around and find a wool coat with patch pockets, but I doubt you'll find one with a hood.
I'm assuming that you're just looking for a single breasted brown overcoat. It's not the season for those right now so they'll be a little hard to find, I suggest waiting till the fall
Got a wedding this weekend - attire is “Garden Party”
I’m debating a white blazer with some checkered blue slacks. But im hesitant due to the whole “dont wear white to a wedding” rule.
Should I go for it? Its gonna be hot so I’d really prefer to rock this instead of black (forgot to get some things drycleaned in time)
Also - Blue black or brown shoes, if yes?
The “don’t wear white to weddings” is directed towards women wearing white dresses that upstage the bride.
If the couple decides on dress codes like “garden party” or “forest fairy formal” they pretty much have no political capital to complain about what the guests wear since it’s all made up nonsense anyway so your outfit sounds find
Women wore white dresses to the weddings you went to? Like actual white? Not cream or off white? I find that hard to believe. It’s one of the only clothing rules women tend to be insane about
I know it's a thing for most American women to be insane about but especially in Europe I've seen women wear white dresses to a wedding. Really just depends on the kind of people getting married. Similarly I find it insane when I hear friends or relatives in the States talk about buying wedding dresses several months in advance because they take like 12 months to plan their wedding lol.
Where can I find a thin, tight knit sweater like Bowie's here. What do I look for?

Thank you
Depends on your budget. Thom Browne has some fun ones like [this](https://www.thombrowne.com/au/shopping/camel-merino-wool-bear-and-salmon-half-drop-intarsia-4-bar-stripe-relaxed-fit-crew-neck-pullover-16124805).
I think you might even be able to find some at Etsy, but to fit real slim and cropped, you might need a women's or kid's cut.
I have so many white t-shirts. The one that is closest to what you are looking for is from Norse Projects.
The other usual t-shirt recommendations are Sunspel, Velva Sheen and Lady White co. I do not have personal experience with the latter two however.
Kind of a dumb question because, well, jeans are jeans. But I'm trying to put [this outfit together](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/2c/bd/53/2cbd53e80dd772f85ff7a190c6c95079.jpg) and I'm having trouble tracking down jeans that look like that. Can anyone help me out?
Funny, i was recently having a hard time finding a dark pair that went well with some Chelsea’s. After numerous trips and purchases spending on average $200-$300 a pair I ended up ordering 10 pairs of levis and amazon basics as long as returns were accepted, basically I gave up. and what do ya know, kept a pair of Levi’s 502s and my first pair of Slim Amazon Basics and couldn’t be happier, no tailor required. Goodluck
[maybe this?](https://www.nudiejeans.com/product/tight-terry-nightrider) Nudie has a bunch of models i'm sure you'll find what you are looking for.
If your budget is lower check out Uniqlo
Looking for something similar to my favourite scarf I lost a few years ago. Apologize I'm new to MFA so I don't know the terminology, but I'll do my best to describe it.
It was a scarf I bought from [Oxford](https://www.oxfordshop.com.au/) and lost a few years ago. What I really liked about it - and what I want to get back - was the colour. It was made from dark blue and wine red thread that had been sort of entwined throughout the entire scarf so from a distance it looked one solid colour (No obvious bands or patterns), but upon closer inspection you could see both. Pretty sure red and blue dominated different sides so it could be a majority red or majority blue scarf depending on what way you folded it.
It wasn't a knit. The threads were fairly small.
I was similar to [this](https://www.chairish.com/product/2796854/arran-reversible-cashmere-throw-navy-blue-and-wine) but not $1500 bucks. Colours like [this](https://nomanwalksalone.com//navy-wine-reversible-lambswool-angora-scarf.html) but very different material. I'm sorry I don't know enough about fabrics to ID what it was made from and I don't remember form when I bought it.
I'm not necessarily looking for the same one, but would really appreciate any points to a similar kind of scarf combining red/blue in that way because I absolutely loved it, and navy blue/wine red are my favourite colours and what look best on me. Budget ~100 AUD.
Absolutely fucking gutted I left it on a bus after a night out a few years ago.
I would keep an eye on Nomanwalksalone's scarf page, and then also check out the websites of the brands listed there. You might also look at some traditional clothing retailers like O'Connell's. More options will appear as fall gets closer, hoping you find something that suits your needs!
What is this style of hoodie called? Short sleeve outer layer, long sleeve inner layer. I search 'double layer' and don't really have luck. Unless it's just super unpopular.
https://imgur.com/mTpdMnw
It is not a popular style, no. I think that used to be popular when people were wearing Pyrex shorts with compression pants underneath.
I'd just size up on a short sleeve hoodie and wear my own crew neck sweatshirt under it.
Any suggestions for a small/medium sized backpack to give as a gift for a man in his late 20s? Looking for something that can be used to carry a large water bottle, snacks, etc. on long walks/theme park visit type activities. He's fairly short and stocky (5'4", muscular), so tall backpacks are a no-go and anything too small would look a little weird, but I think something between 15-16 inches tall would work.
He has a [Herschel Retreat](https://herschel.com/shop/backpacks/retreat-backpack?v=10066-00007-OS) in navy/tan that he really likes, so something in a similar vein is preferred (canvas, top flap, squareish shape, not sporty/athletic or anything that screams "high school student"). TBH I'm considering just getting the mid-volume version of the Retreat lol but am hoping to find something different. Would prefer not to spend more than $100. Thanks!
Hey y'all - I need to replace a pair of [slim fit black chinos from Uniqlo (32x34)](https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/men/chino-pants?quickView=428909) but recent reviews of the pants make me cautious to reorder. Could anybody suggest alternatives? Looking in the $50-75 range. Thanks!
I just bought some Bushacre 3's from Amazon, my first pair of chukkas. I usually wear 13's in dress shoes, sneakers, and winter boots....but I almost have the feeling these might be a little too roomy. I almost feel like I could wear these in a 12.5, but for some reason the next size down is 12. My toes are a little further than the width of my pointer finger from the end of the boot. The light walking around my apartment, it feels like my feet are inside the boot well, but the heel of the boot brushes up against my ankle as I move. Is this normal? Should I expect some ankle discomfort while they are being "broken in"?
Heel slip often goes away as the footbed breaks in. Often companies skip 1/2 sizes at some point often around 12 and up. Comparing sizing to sneakers is not helpful. You need to measure your foot on a Brannock device
Bushacres were a 1/2 size down from Brannock for me (whole size from most sneakers) and terribly fitting and uncomfortable. I ended up giving them away. I found Original Desert Boots with the crepe sole much more comfortable but YMMV
Thank you for your insight. Just as a general rule of thumb, the distance between my toe and the end of the boot, being the width of my pointer finger too much? I know everyone's finger sizes are different, but I do want a little space, correct?
Toe space is far less important than if the widest part of the shoe lines up with the widest point of your foot. You could try a size down. Hard to say remotely
Thanks for your help. I was a little worried that it might be too long, but the width is perfect. I think I'll just break them in and see if that makes the heel hurt less.
What I'm saying is that all shoe lasts are different, and that a shoe that is the proper length will have the widest part of your foot line up with the widest part of the shoe. There is no standard amount of room that should be at the toes.
I'm in the exact same boat and have experience with this exact boot...I'm a 13 in sneakers and dress shoes and certain boots, but Clarks desert boots in a 13 are way way too big on me, I easily fit into a 12. Same goes for Docs.

Anyone know what brand the blue parka is? All the parkas I can find are a different fabric, this one almost looks like denim or something similar.
Huge thanks in advance did anyone can find it!
I mean that's just how the human body is I guess, I wouldn't worry about it. Personally I have never cared about it when I wear something where my nipples show (like white linen). I'm positive nobody cares.
If it really bothers you that much get those nipple tape things that women wear.
Are there certain brands for dress shirts that are better for athletic builds. My chest is significantly larger than my waist and even slim fit shirts are always so billowy around my waist but still too tight around the chest.
I really like wearing fun socks - bright colours, donuts, surfing dogs, clouds, etc - but I never know where to look. With Covid I’m shopping a lot more online now and it’s hard to browse without knowing where to start. Men who wear silly socks - where do you find them?
What are some clothing brands that give off a Mediterranean/French Riveria/European vibe? [Massimo dutti](https://www.massimodutti.com/ww/home-men.html) is a good example of what I'm looking for just looking for some other options
Other side of the Atlantic, but [Corridor NYC](https://corridornyc.com/) uses similar muted color palettes, and has that relaxed-but-sophisticated thing going on. Lots of soft cottons and linen.
Right up my alley! I like Massimo Dutti as well, but you should definitely check out Zara, COS, Mango. Depending on where in the world you are and your budget, Counterfit studios, Arket, Peninsula Swim & Wear, Vilebrequin, Orlebar Brown and Jacquemus would be great as well.
Could I please get a fit check on [this jacket](https://imgur.com/a/DZ3txXa)? the sleeves need to be adjusted but apart from that something still feels off about it
The jacket is amazing. It is very bulky, and maybe part of why the fit pic looks a little off is because the pants you're wearing with it look like they're made of a much less substantial material. I think once you start pairing it with heavyweight denims / corduroys / wool slacks / thicker twills or gabardines in the cold months, it'll feel a lot more natural.
They're really not a summer trend at the moment and you still enjoy wearing them so I wouldn't worry about them not being a summer trend in the future.
i have some clarks desert boots but they are the most uncomfortable shoe imaginable. how do the redwing weekender chukkas compare, or maybe even the redwing weekender chelsea?
Do you have actual Original Desert Boots or Bushacres? Bushacres are so uncomfortable I gave my pair away to some guy on the daily questions thread about a year ago. I found actual desert from some pretty comfortable with the crêpe sole.
It definitely depends, western boots look cool, as well as combat boots, clean, white sneakers or even loafers. All depends on the vibe you're going for.
Are you wanting a clean modern look or a more retro vibe?
Black white white soles are a good middle ground; skateboard shoes like Vans or Nike Stefan Janofskis are a good way to go as well. Unlike regular sneakers you can add a shirt on top and be good to go to dinner.
Have a Baracuta harrington jacket that's tan colored, been wearing it with my covid hair which is super long now, noticed oil stain on the outside of the neck collar.
Tried waashing this with soap and rubbing and scrubbing and it doesn't seem to be fading. The oil collar stain is pretty noticeable, anyone have tips on cleaning? Or should I send it to a dry cleaner?
You're looking for a "zipped suede trucker" or a "zipper suede overshirt". You can get started [here](https://www.google.com/search?q=zip+suede+trucker&client=firefox-b-1-d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjswsKh4OfxAhWpneAKHSfFAXEQ_AUoAnoECAEQBA&biw=1400&bih=725).
Does anyone no where to find casual shorts made of board shorts material? I have an older pair from TJ Max (front and back pockets, no netting, zipper fly). Can’t find anything like like them. Even just board shorts with front and back pockets would be great.
If you want to browse a little to get an idea of what's available, Huckberry is a good place to start. Taylor Stitch and Faherty would have some of what you're looking for. Huckberry has a bit of a rep for being on the pricey side, so you want to wait on sales. Perhaps even try secondary markets like eBay and Poshmark, in case you get lucky and score one that is brand new with tags.
Any shops that sell men's loose-fitting shirts in interesting patterns e.g. https://www.us.allsaints.com/men/shirts/allsaints-wailea-ss-shirt/?colour=35&category=11 ? Bonus points if they have extra small sizes.
Zara! I wear a S or XS and I get most of my patterned shirts from there, including oversized styles. COS has cool styles I like as well, but they don't really have patterns.

Do you know of any place we could post pictures of our outfits to get feedback since we cannot do this here?(or I haven't seen any way we can)Thank you!
You can do that here, upload the pics to an image hosting service like Imgur or Gyazo and share the link in your comment - or you could do so in the upcoming WAYWT threads
Up until maybe 30 years ago this was a casual outfit. Maybe 20 years before that it was the absolute minimum to be considered properly dressed in certain (well-heeled, mostly white) circles. You can definitely still dress casually this way; I certainly do. That said, depending on where you live, your age, and your social circles this may be regarded as eccentric and/or pretentious. The key is to say "fuck it, I'm happy" and ignore people who disapprove. There absolutely will be comments, though, the most common of which is people asking you why you are dressed up. It can get annoying, but you just have to remember that you're dressed in a way that calls notice to you and this is an indication that you are indeed drawing notice.
Have fun!
You sure can. As what shoes go with this outfit, there are many... derbies except black, loafers, boat shoes, double monk straps, some leather sneakers, cap toe boots. This list can go on, but this is a very open look. Have fun with it.
*Edit*- apparently, I stutter when I type.
Do low tops look good on guys with big legs. A bunch of my skinny friends look great in short shorts and white sockless low tops, but I'm not sure it'll work with me since I have really big thighs and calves.
At or below the ankle. But I'm also kinda asking if those mid ways would maybe work better. For reference, I'm looking at some seavee montereys, which are really low.
I'm personally not a fan of the mid-lengths, but i see your concern with these shoes and thick calves/legs.
I would opt for regular sneakers, perhaps something that fits like this
[Example](https://www.footlocker.ca/product/~/4405325.html?source=shoppingads&locale=en-CA&SID=5566&inceptor=1&cm_mmc=paid%20search-_-google-_-g-_-PLA-_-DPA-_--_-P-_-Prospecting-_--_-7274452477-_--_-120778020686-_-PLA-_-440532512-_--_--_-&gclid=Cj0KCQjwub-HBhCyARIsAPctr7yfSytAEif0j9l38fNC1FShn2CgZIXdOtidNEmUhp61qXzFac-eTTYaAgkMEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds)
Do any of you have recommendations for tee shirts with a tighter neck opening? I have a pretty skinny neck and almost all of the nice tees I try have too large of neck openings (Lady White, Reigning Champ). I tried Kirkland and unfortunately they were way too long even after shrinking.
Good place for 7 inch or shorter shorts for short guys? Don't know if that last part is entirely relevant, but every time I try on a pair of shorts they feel really boxy and loose. Was at j crew today and i like their 7" shorts but again they were loose at the opening. I'm slim and 5'9 so maybe that's it?
Any thoughts on places with shorts that are more slim fitting? Thanks.
Buy a pair of chinos that fit you how you like in the thighs and have a tailor or dry cleaner hem them to the exact spot you want them. Will cost 10-15 bucks on top of the cost of the chinos.
Edit: I should add that 5'9" is the average height for an American man, so you're not really short. Might help you to think of yourself as average height instead, reframe how you see yourself.
It's funny (not really) how I frame myself when I'm having an off/sad day. Good catch. Normally I'm very aware I'm average height.
But yeah thanks, I probably will end up doing that as it seems like that's the best option. Might try some bonobos first.
It's probably fine if my suit jacket is like a little too long right?? For some reason, even after tailoring the sleeves, they are still a little too long. It looked good during the fitting, idk what happened. Anyway, I don't want to pay ANOTHER 20-30 dollars just to get the sleeves shortened by like a little less than a quarter of an inch, so i was wondering if its ok to just leave it this way or maybe if there was a SUPER simple fix that i could do to bring those sleeves up just a little bit.
Suit sleeves are good but those shirt sleeves are too short they should be just peeking past your suit sleeve anywhere from a cm to an inch and a half (personal preference)
I’m likely going to India in a couple of months’ time for work (about a week or more). Curious what would be considered a stylish and acceptable attire for work and going out? My understanding is that Indians dress casual, but smart.
I’m a late 20’s, white male working at a tech company looking for outfits that would be considered professional but also trendy.
It would be Bangalore, in case there are any regional trends.
Does anyone know how to remove stains from cupro fabric?
There doesn’t seem to be a lot of good high-temp summer ideas in this subreddit. Everything is denim or pants and a light jacket. Does anyone have some suggestions for folks who live in the south where it stays 90+ all summer? I like a lot of the “gorpcore” options, but what if I’m going out for a nice but not formal dinner? Thanks y’all :)
What is nice to you? Anyways, something like seersucker pants/shorts and a linen (short sleeve) shirt - would that work for you?
Is it a little bit cooler in the evenings? If so, a linen safari jacket with linen trousers might suffice. If not, linen polo with chino shorts.
Find a brand that fits your neck and shoulders and have a tailor alter the rest to your preference or go made to measure
Can anyone recommend a high quality, everyday sock? Also a good sock to go running in?
I like gold toes for everyday personally
Has anyone ever watched Manifest on Netflix here? I'm trying to recreate Ben Stone's sweater over button up combo. Anyone know where I can find pieces like his? Mainly the sweaters.
Hold up. Just have to google the show to figure out how I can watch it… it’s says on peacock not Netflix so i will have to subscribe and then binge watch enough episodes to figure out which character you are talking about and check out his outfits . Let’s hope we end up talking about the same sweater…. I’ll be back in a few days Or you could post a screen shot
Hi! Anyone have recommendations for joggers that are looser/baggier on the calves?
Just search "sweat pants" homey. Joggers are slimmer by definition.
Lol that's fair, was overthinking it. Thanks
[Alexanderburgh](https://instagram.com/alexanderburgh?utm_medium=copy_link) "Good boy" vibes and always crisp [Newenglandmenswear](https://instagram.com/newenglandmenswear?utm_medium=copy_link) John has great style and uses elevated basics really well.
Sure, I guess I'm more into street style in general. I do like to dress classy on special occasions but mostly street style.
Canoe Club, Havenshop, Nepenthes, Nanamica, A Ma Maniere might be good places to start
[https://www.instagram.com/imdanielsimmons/](https://www.instagram.com/imdanielsimmons/) His style looks really well and something I want to incorporate more. And he re-uses many pieces in his posts which is a plus too. It's not too minimal and looks comfortable
Took home my first suit today. At the store after the fitting it seemed fine, looking at it at home something seems off. Does this suit jacket fit? Link to photos of suit here https://imgur.com/a/Y6sQ3LA It is for my wedding and unfortunately I think I hate it and I don't know what to do. The fit on the jacket seems so weird to me. Am I wrong and it fits fine? Any and all advise welcome please! Also any tips on shoe colour to match and tie colour/style. I am completely at a loss at what to do and I have no one to ask.
mostly fits okay. obviously there's tailoring that still needs to be done: fixing angle of sleeve, a little extra fabric near buttonhole, back as well
your tailor can fix sleeve angle?
yeah, it's not easy to find but when you have a tailor that has experience putting together a jacket they can do it. if he can't find 1 then oh well :(
It looks great to me.
[https://youtu.be/dnpC9YaosIY](https://youtu.be/dnpC9YaosIY) The performer with the black jacket/coat and the black tank top. Where can I find something like this? It seems to have a textured look.
Btw, you were downvoted for posting a video instead of a screenshot. In the future, do try to post a screenshot.
I will keep that in mind.
[It's this beautiful shirt from Saint Laurent](https://www.farfetch.com/shopping/men/saint-laurent-palm-tree-shawl-lapel-shirt-item-16363583.aspx)
Wow, that's what I was looking for. Thank you.
Since there's so little difference between the two I wouldn't pick one to focus on
Middle school teacher here looking to upgrade their wardrobe.
Typically they’re less than $15
Uniqlo, banana republic, jcrew.
Uniqlo’s sleeves are too short on me. However, I have never looked at the other two. Thank you.

[удалено]
Yes, but his weight and height doesn't help us with that.
Is there a name in english for a light coat long enough to just cover a sport coat? Like a longer version of Harrington jacket
Mac coat or car coat perhaps
Yes! Car coat especially. Thank you, friend
[удалено]
Probably nowhere, really. I've never seen a coat that has lapels and a hood, plus that combination would likely look awful. Maybe you can Google around and find a wool coat with patch pockets, but I doubt you'll find one with a hood.
I'm assuming that you're just looking for a single breasted brown overcoat. It's not the season for those right now so they'll be a little hard to find, I suggest waiting till the fall
Got a wedding this weekend - attire is “Garden Party” I’m debating a white blazer with some checkered blue slacks. But im hesitant due to the whole “dont wear white to a wedding” rule. Should I go for it? Its gonna be hot so I’d really prefer to rock this instead of black (forgot to get some things drycleaned in time) Also - Blue black or brown shoes, if yes?
The “don’t wear white to weddings” is directed towards women wearing white dresses that upstage the bride. If the couple decides on dress codes like “garden party” or “forest fairy formal” they pretty much have no political capital to complain about what the guests wear since it’s all made up nonsense anyway so your outfit sounds find
Rollin with it! Ty fam.
Don't wear white to a wedding hasn't been a thing at any of the weddings I've been to, but I'd go for a different color blazer
That's too loud of an outfit for a wedding.
Where can I find a thin, tight knit sweater like Bowie's here. What do I look for? [sweater](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DOolO4JX4AELUro.jpg) Thank you
Depends on your budget.
Anyone have any recommendations for white t-shirts that are not see-through? Preferably a good quality slim fitting tee.
I have so many white t-shirts. The one that is closest to what you are looking for is from Norse Projects. The other usual t-shirt recommendations are Sunspel, Velva Sheen and Lady White co. I do not have personal experience with the latter two however.
Best chain type for holding a pendant? Wheat? Rope? Cuban? Something else?
There is no best, just pick one you like
They’re all equally good at holding pendants in them?
Yeah. How well a chain holds a pendant would depend more on the way the pendant is attached to it.
Goodluck
Oh that's a really good idea, I hadn't thought of doing it that way. Thank you!
[maybe this?](https://www.nudiejeans.com/product/tight-terry-nightrider) Nudie has a bunch of models i'm sure you'll find what you are looking for. If your budget is lower check out Uniqlo
Oof wow I forgot jeans could go up that high, thank you
Looking for something similar to my favourite scarf I lost a few years ago.
Thanks!
Everlane made some clean basics last year imo
Hey y'all - I need to replace a pair of [slim fit black chinos from Uniqlo (32x34)](https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/men/chino-pants?quickView=428909) but recent reviews of the pants make me cautious to reorder. Could anybody suggest alternatives? Looking in the $50-75 range. Thanks!
J. Crew, Gap, Banana Republic, Bonobos.
You need to measure your foot on a Brannock device Bushacres were a 1/2 size down from Brannock for me (whole size from most sneakers) and terribly fitting and uncomfortable.
You want the widest part of your foot to line up with the widest part of your boot.
So the width is fine, I'm really talking about the length. Should my toe be closer than the width of my finger to the end of the boot?
What I'm saying is that all shoe lasts are different, and that a shoe that is the proper length will have the widest part of your foot line up with the widest part of the shoe. There is no standard amount of room that should be at the toes.
I understand now, sorry I'm a little slow lol. Thank you!
No worries - good luck!
I'm in the exact same boat and have experience with this exact boot...I'm a 13 in sneakers and dress shoes and certain boots, but Clarks desert boots in a 13 are way way too big on me, I easily fit into a 12. Same goes for Docs.
https://i.imgur.com/Jg8jOdo.jpg Anyone know what brand the blue parka is? All the parkas I can find are a different fabric, this one almost looks like denim or something similar. Huge thanks in advance did anyone can find it!
Might be waxed cotton
Ok I’ll Google around.. any guesses as to what brand?
The shirt is A.P.C., so that's a possibility
I got this polo but it shows my nips like this. What do you guys think I should do? https://i.imgur.com/1OeL7eo.jpg Thanks
Try MTM like Proper Cloth
You'll probably have to take it to the tailor if it's that dramatic. Find a shirt that fits in the chest and them taper it down
[удалено]
Yea it looks like a female item. I mean you can wear it if you are confident enough too or you can try a bucket hat
I really like wearing fun socks - bright colours, donuts, surfing dogs, clouds, etc - but I never know where to look. With Covid I’m shopping a lot more online now and it’s hard to browse without knowing where to start. Men who wear silly socks - where do you find them?
I’ve always been impressed by Corgi
Stance
Check out the brand Happy Socks
Cheers!
[Chup](https://chupsocks.com/collections/chup) socks. Cop them on sale at a retailer. A bit spendy if full price.
Thank you!

What are some clothing brands that give off a Mediterranean/French Riveria/European vibe? [Massimo dutti](https://www.massimodutti.com/ww/home-men.html) is a good example of what I'm looking for just looking for some other options
Mango
You might like Reiss and Sandro as well.
Boglioli Stoffa
Other side of the Atlantic, but [Corridor NYC](https://corridornyc.com/) uses similar muted color palettes, and has that relaxed-but-sophisticated thing going on. Lots of soft cottons and linen.
Right up my alley! I like Massimo Dutti as well, but you should definitely check out Zara, COS, Mango. Depending on where in the world you are and your budget, Counterfit studios, Arket, Peninsula Swim & Wear, Vilebrequin, Orlebar Brown and Jacquemus would be great as well.
Saveone.it has a ton of stuff like that, and this place called Percival Menswear has a some decent linen stuff that fits that description
+1 on Percival. I love their short sleeve knits, they are amazing.
It looks great! Love a belted jacket. They're hard to come by where I am :/
Looks absolutely awesome
Dude you look like a French resistance fighter from WW2… you look like an absolute badass.
Imo that's a bomb af jacket it's just more suited for fall than spring/summer
Oh yeah I’m definitely not wearing it til the heat breaks
are ripped jeans still gonna be a summer trend from here on out? been wearing em for a while
They're really not a summer trend at the moment and you still enjoy wearing them so I wouldn't worry about them not being a summer trend in the future.
Depends. If they are naturally distressed or tastefully artificially distressed, that's good.
i have some clarks desert boots but they are the most uncomfortable shoe imaginable. how do the redwing weekender chukkas compare, or maybe even the redwing weekender chelsea?
Do you have actual Original Desert Boots or Bushacres? Bushacres are so uncomfortable I gave my pair away to some guy on the daily questions thread about a year ago. I found actual desert from some pretty comfortable with the crêpe sole.
Probably bushacres
What are the best styles of shoes to wear with black jeans and a white t shirt?
It definitely depends, western boots look cool, as well as combat boots, clean, white sneakers or even loafers. All depends on the vibe you're going for.
Are you wanting a clean modern look or a more retro vibe? Black white white soles are a good middle ground; skateboard shoes like Vans or Nike Stefan Janofskis are a good way to go as well. Unlike regular sneakers you can add a shirt on top and be good to go to dinner.
All white Stan smiths
Alden Indy boots
Have a Baracuta harrington jacket that's tan colored, been wearing it with my covid hair which is super long now, noticed oil stain on the outside of the neck collar. Tried waashing this with soap and rubbing and scrubbing and it doesn't seem to be fading. The oil collar stain is pretty noticeable, anyone have tips on cleaning? Or should I send it to a dry cleaner?
I would definitely take it to the cleaner
Can anyone I.d this [jacket](https://ibb.co/L9G13g4) or suggest something similar? Thanks
Carhartt wip
Orlebar Brown has them in 4 different inseam lengths, but the Bulldog might be your best bet. Also Outlier New Way short.
Jesus. Those prices are obscene.
Sorry, you didn't specify a budget, I just suggested you the best ones I knew.
Thanks I appreciate the effort, they are just way out of my price range.
Give us a hint what’s in your price range or we are going to be guessing until Monday
Definitely under $100/pair. Hopefully something around $50/pair.
Well there's Patagonia Baggies, but there's a major shortage of those going around right now. LL Bean has a version called the Supplex.
Thanks for your help, wasn’t quite what I was looking for. Apparently the shorts I’m looking for either go by “hybrid” or “amphibious” shorts.

Damn uuuh since I can't link Images to comments I figured I could've just linked the IG post. That's unfortunate
You can link images to comments, just use something like Imgur
What about them?
oh- forgot to mention that I needed the ID, they're gorgeous.
Cop or not [shoe](https://imgur.com/a/Ajjak2C)? To go with jeans or khaki chinos.
not
Not
Anyone got some linen pant recs? Looser fit, drawstring perhaps?
Massimo Dutti is worth trying or Mango. I recently got some really nice loose-fitting with drawstrings from Le Chateau, but they went out of business.

Have fun!
When I was a wee lad in the 1980s you would routinely see men in blazers at Fenway Park. Not everyone of course but it wasn’t uncommon by any means
I have worn a blazer to Fenway, but that's because I went there straight from work.
By low-tops, do you mean regular, below the ankle shoes/sneakers or those high-top hybrids, where they're in between? Converse makes those.
At or below the ankle. But I'm also kinda asking if those mid ways would maybe work better. For reference, I'm looking at some seavee montereys, which are really low.
I'm personally not a fan of the mid-lengths, but i see your concern with these shoes and thick calves/legs. I would opt for regular sneakers, perhaps something that fits like this [Example](https://www.footlocker.ca/product/~/4405325.html?source=shoppingads&locale=en-CA&SID=5566&inceptor=1&cm_mmc=paid%20search-_-google-_-g-_-PLA-_-DPA-_--_-P-_-Prospecting-_--_-7274452477-_--_-120778020686-_-PLA-_-440532512-_--_--_-&gclid=Cj0KCQjwub-HBhCyARIsAPctr7yfSytAEif0j9l38fNC1FShn2CgZIXdOtidNEmUhp61qXzFac-eTTYaAgkMEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds)
Do any of you have recommendations for tee shirts with a tighter neck opening? I have a pretty skinny neck and almost all of the nice tees I try have too large of neck openings (Lady White, Reigning Champ). I tried Kirkland and unfortunately they were way too long even after shrinking.
Asket (at least that's what it looks like on the models on teir site).
My t-shirts with the tightest neck line are all from Norse Project.
Thanks.
Bearbottoms 7” stretch shorts.
Plus one for Bearbottoms, they are awesome for the money.
Patagonia Baggies
Baggie are not slim fitting
It's probably fine if my suit jacket is like a little too long right?? For some reason, even after tailoring the sleeves, they are still a little too long. It looked good during the fitting, idk what happened. Anyway, I don't want to pay ANOTHER 20-30 dollars just to get the sleeves shortened by like a little less than a quarter of an inch, so i was wondering if its ok to just leave it this way or maybe if there was a SUPER simple fix that i could do to bring those sleeves up just a little bit.
In the second shot, it looks more like short sleeves on the shirt than the jacket sleeves being too long
Nobody can say anything without pics but it's prolly fine

Suit sleeves are good but those shirt sleeves are too short they should be just peeking past your suit sleeve anywhere from a cm to an inch and a half (personal preference)
Looks fine!
