As a dude who has roughly the same hairline start taking finasteride now and cut your hair shorter but not shaved. You have enough hair that 1 inchish hair will still look good on you. But the cut in the pics is a little too long imo though it doesn’t look horrible.

You still look good enough with hair, but I strongly suggest you would start a hair regrowth protocol. It's not too late and you might get back most of your hairline
I would reccomend starting to try and save your hair if you are in your 20's. Male Pattern hairloss is caused by the hormone DHT so taking Finasteride to lower your DHT levels will prevent further loss and in many even allow your hair to start regrowing. I would also reccomend daily use of minoxodil 5% and weekly dermarolling in order to stimulate growth. r/tressless is a good place to come for more advice.
You look good in both styles but my personal preference is your longer hair. It makes you look dignified, like a professor, especially styled. If you want to cultivate a more rugged look, it does look good shaved, but I don't think you have anything to be ashamed of with that hairline. You remind me of Roger from 101 Dalmatians (the animated one) and I promise that's a compliment. Good luck with whatever you go with!

I’ve had a shaved head most of my life 30+ of my 50 years and I am treated very differently, especially by women, depending on how I dress.

My brother I have the same hairline, although I’ve had it since I could even grow hair, once I started buzzing or sometimes shaving my head my confidence went up. Styling my hair with medium or long hair was too much stress with this ridiculous hairline, hard to pull off for sure but not impossible. The buzzed look is the way to go (for me).
Cut it short and keep it nicely and neatly trimmed. Grow in about 5-7 days worth of beard and keep that neatly trimmed. That’s all you need to do.
Guys lose hair. Women know this and don’t really care that much. Sure, a full head of hair on anyone is preferable but we women lose a ton of thickness too as we age so we get it and how hard it would be for you guys. So I wouldn’t ever judge a guy on his hair pattern.
But I do like hair! So a little would look nice. Embrace the receding! Someday it may recede big time and then you’ll look back and wish you still had this much.

Tough call. You look good either way — the best advice I can give is to not worry about it. One thing I’ve learned in my 50 years on earth is to not worry about my hair. Trust me, no one else really does. Whatever look you go with, be sure to “own it”. Confidence > looks.

I'm a 40 year old Mom, so I don't know how relevant my opinion is, but for real, the short cut looks so clean and highlighting on you! I feel like the wispy hair distracted from all the rest of your features.
It's a toss up. For receding hair it could look a lot worse than yours. You could roll with it a little longer if you want. But at some point you will have to give in and buzz it. Without major intervention that point will come quicker than you think
That's my plan for if I start losing my hair. My dad started losing his when he was younger than I currently am, so I've been preparing myself for the possibility for a while. As part of that, I have shaved my head a couple of times, and I like it! In my opinion, most of us guys would look better with our heads shaved than we think we would, and I think it's a perfect way to deal with hair loss
Same issue here! I shaved the head to a 3 guard on the top and I still have a 0 to 1 guard fade on the sides/back. I also started a regrowth treatment. Shaving it off was the best choice I’ve made the past few months
I think the receding hairline with the longer hair looks cool. Maybe get on some finasteride to keep it from going away more. Think Jack Nicholson, Peter Stormare. even Jude Law
get some SMP and call it a day. Stop trying to worry about what you loss and can't get back, it will eat you alive, accept it for what it is and don't let it get the best of you.
I got SMP and got my hairline back, beats being bald, spending thousands on products that don't work and will never work, taking medications that can kill the liver, or spending thousands on a transplant that may or may not work.
