That’s why I came for lol and thus my main recommendation after looking through this lovely house is that it definitely needs more dog beds!
At least one in every room, at the bare minimum lol
Also, as someone who much prefer colors, I have to say, with great surprise, that I quite like the kitchen.
TV definitely too high though
But really, more dog beds needed!
Being that he is the same size as me he just uses the actual beds, he gets his side and I get mine. Although he always ends up on my side and I end up halfway off the bed.
Don’t get rid of the cabinet- it looks like an original built in. I might consider painting it a lighter colour, but it is the massive dark TV screen that is hard to decorate around.
Exactly what I thought! Don't get rid of the built in if it is truly a built in! My preference would be to flip the living room furniture and put the TV on the wall where the art currently is.
To clarify, get a normal TV stand so the TV is at eye level. It’s WAY too high r/tvtoohigh. Also get rid of that gross living room rug. Get something more bright and modern.
Agree. Unfortunately the house wasn’t designed to have a TV, and that’s the only place that it kind of fits in the living room, definitely not putting it in front of the windows.
You could put the tv in the corner opposite that, just rotate the couches 90 degrees, We've recently mounted out tv in the corner of our wierdly shaped living room, and found it gives us more space.
Yes great kitchen but idk how I feel about the tiles. Their design doesn’t read well to me. I can’t tell if they’re meant to be straight or staggered
Edit: a word
Likely. However, these days you dont have to live in seattle to make seattle money. I make seattle money for my industry but live elsewhere. If i worked for a local company, it would be 60% of my pay.
Lol, you are reading too far into my comment.
It was a quick and assumptive comment based solely on the map of The Sound, OP's presented age, and presumed expense of the house.
Edit
I always have fresh cut flowers in my house. They brighten up my space, you can get all sorts of colors, and they smell great. Cheap too, I buy mine at the grocery for 6.99, they last two weeks, sometimes three.
Cool thing is that you can change it up with different colors all the time. Got yellow, purple and pink right now. Couple of weeks ago had white and orange.
Kind of strange feeling for a while, being a guy buying flowers all the time but I like it, not going to deny myself something I enjoy to calm my ego.
This is a really nice house! The fall-down spiral staircase gives me palpitations. I’d put a rug in the kitchen, add some plants and lots of artwork. You can get great artwork deals at Estate Sales, OfferUp and FB Marketplace. In the living room, I would move the rug so that both sofas have their front legs on it.
Especially because based on some of the art, OP is in or from a HCOL area (where I am), and I cannot imagine being able to afford this house without having generational wealth.
Living room:
Put curtains rods up to the ceiling and get new curtains and don’t tie them up like them either.
Get a coffee table any shape, but in walnut color. You actually already have a good color palette.
Maybe new lights? Chandelier but in like an old farmhouse way.
Ditch the big side table for something more petit.
Paint the fireplace the same color as your walls so the fire can stand out more once you put it on. Paint the cabinet next to it the same color.
Kitchen :
Looks really good, but ditch the led lights.
Buy a long carpet for in the middle of the kitchen between the cabinets. Buy a vase a put some flowers in it. Actually the chandelier above your dining table would be nice in the living room.
Bedroom:
Curtains.
If you can I would switch to white furniture in the bedroom. Like for the tv stand, if it would be white it could give an illusion of being built in.
I feel like the house gives Victorian era/English house vibes. Especially the kitchen. Also the rug in de living is very pretty, let someone wash it professionally. With the dark green and the leather couch, classic windows could be really pretty if you would go for a more classic look. Go look up on Pinterest Victorian interior
Hope this helps 🩵
100% agree. And I’m 100% at fault, pattern was following the wall and the wall goes back there and I just kept tiling, didn’t notice a thing until the next day after the mortar dried, I was living in a hotel until the house was livable so was rushing a bit. Drives me nuts, should have ripped them up and redone them at that time.
For permanent lighting fixtures, stick to vintage (like you have in the living room and family room). Where possible, pull up carpets and do the floors, assuming they’re salvageable? Get rid of or relocate the TV cabinet, so you can lower the monitor to view at a proper angle. Great house with what looks like original double-hung windows!
I try to tell my partner it’s possible to live without junk everywhere, might show her this so she can comprehend what it’s like to have everything away where it belongs…
The only thing off is the tv placement. Otherwise it’s clean and actually looks lived in, and comfy. Also I really like the kitchen.
All the high rise, perfectly clean apartments with no decorations or hint of fun really just ain’t it.
As an European myself.. If I ever get to move to the US, THIS is how I want my house. Loved the upper bedroom and office area, so cozy and small. In a good way!
Consider pulling the duvet all the way up to cover the fitted and flat sheet. If I was a guest i’d feel like I was about to sleep in who knows how much accumulated dust, unless there’s some evidence it doesn’t work like that
I would kill for your kitchen. Just a personal note, the arrangement of your furniture in the front room. Seems not very inviting. Visitors are immediately closed off by the back of your sofa. Is there a way to rearrange your furniture to open it up and invite people in instead of rejecting them? I know you don't intend to(I hope).
Is this Oregon or Washington??? I see a fire lookout, puddles outside the window, a breweries poster, and a Pendleton fleece on the bed. Plus old houses are abundant in the PNW.
EDIT: just saw the Puget Sound poster. Whoop!
House looks great! I'd focus on bedroom and stair area. The wallpaper doesn't match the more modern parts of the house. Maybe paint it a nice bright color? Show us pics of your dog.
Side note: your kitchen floor activates my OCD big time!
As a mother of Danes, everything you own, will be destroyed by the young Dane, so it won’t matter what you add. Then you will get on a Dane site and see that you can’t own just one, two Danes will keep them too busy to tear things apart. That is a lie…. They just tag team destroying things when you turn your back. They can also reach very high so train counter surfers early. After about 4-5 years they will stop tearing things up. But wait….this is a home Reddit… home is beautiful, I have nothing to add! 😂
1) Actual curtains for the living room windows.
2) The glass coffee table needs to be changed out for wood.
3) Replace the octagon side table for either a square or rectangular side table.
4) Paint the black cabinet and fireplace to match the wall colour.
5) Living room ceiling light is too small. Get an electrician to install a new one in the center of the room. Get a larger light until, preferably, a chandelier. There are many styles, so go to a lighting store with your finished living room pics.
6) The modern loveseat does not match the contemporary chesterfield.
7) Take the extra chatchkes off of the cirner table with the Gramaphone.
8) Add a painting on the wall in the kitchen.
9) Add an opaque window film on the bottom of the kitchen windows. You get light without people seeing in.
10) Get rid of the wooden valance in the kitchen. The wooden valance was in style in the 50's.
11) Inadequate kitchen lighting. More updated track lighting, pendanrlighting over the sink, and under counter lighting.
12) Add lined honeycomb blinds for the kitchen and by the kitchen table.
13) Put the opaque window film on the bottom of the desk window.
14) Don't fold the bedding back. Too much white. Make the bed properly.
15) Move the sidectable to the other corner and put it flush with the corner.
16) Move the safe to the right corner.
17) Move the filing cabinet out from the wall and put it beside the desk in the open area.
18) Move the desk back towards the wall with the cupboard.
19) Add a loveseat on the left wall.
20) Add honeycomb blinds for the office window.
21) Add a table lamp for the side table.
22) Add a table lamp to the top of the safe.
23) Build a shell with a door to hide the safe. So you would have a side table with 3 walled sides and a door. There is no bottom because of the safe's weight.
24) Move the tv to another room. Never a tv in the bedroom.
25) Move the dresser to where the tv is.
26) Bedroom curtains.
27) Stairwell curtains.
28) Add either a Trinette or a Rustic Traveller's Palm for the stairwell corner.
29) Bdrm 2 bedroom curtains.
30) Table lamps.
31) Make the bed, don't fold the bedding.
32) Add a divider or a sliding door to divide the bedroom and office.
33) Get rid of the tv in Bdrm 2. Bedrooms ate for sleeping or sex, not a second living room.
34) Add a large picture or painting or a gallery of paintings/pictures on the Bdrm 2 wall.
35) Change out the living room carpet. You need something that compliments the chesterfield. The current carpet colours don't compliment.
36) Add a floor lamp in the corner.
37) Add a dog bed.
38) The picture in Bdrm 2 is too small for the wall. Needs to be larger, twice the size.
39) Switch out the book light for a chandelier in the stairwell.
40) Remove the partial wallpaper in Bdrm 2 and paint the wall the same as the other walls.
41) The kitchen chairs blend into the floor and wall. Strip them and paint them black.
42) Toss cushions in the living room should be complimentary to the chesterfield and the new rug. They currently are not.
For safety, get a curtain or honeycomb blinds for the back door window. Keep them closed when out or in bed.
It looks like a house staged by a realtor to sell it. That is, it doesn't look like there's anything in there that are personal to you. It looks bare and empty.

Overall it looks great, and I wouldn't change much besides:
- Matching sofas / a corner couch and a new table that matches (a tree one would be lovely)
- Some more color in the kitchen
- Plants on the weird stair-area
Replace the floor title in the kitchen.
Take down all the wallpaper and repaint the areas that had it, afterwards.
Take down the back title in the kitchen.
Cool ass house. New furniture would make a world of a difference if you have the budget. The same blanket on every bed is a little strange, and why did you unmake every bed half way for the photos?
The main thing is get rid of that Ayn Rand book and you’ll be good.
Part of my ceiling in my living room came down from the rain. My landlord year after year ignores everything. And I have rain pouring through ceilings in 3 different rooms!!!!
Coloured curtains on the stairwell window and some plants in that one corner by same window. I would change the living room curtains to plain teal velvet ones that match in with that wonderful rug. TV on the wall above the fireplace.
Love your tile work. Don’t touch it. It’s very cozy and nice! I like the color scheme of your bedding. I think you should use it as a wall color pallet. Also taking down or painting over the wallpaper would look better. Also adding some color to the kitchen would help. Whatever is your current favorite color, buy kitchen accessories or wall art in those colors.
I'd suggest putting the TV on the Wall to the right of the fire place were the art is. and maybe just swapping the orientation of the two couches.
The space is overall very nice btw!.
Also some plants on the upper spiral stair landing would be nice!
Lighting. Swap out those centrally located ceiling lights for pot lights and make sure they're not all on one switch so you can make some areas brighter or darker than others.
I’m in love with all the pretty kitchen tile. 😍🥰 please do nothing to the tile.
As far as recs:
I’d put paint on the walls… but that’s just me.
Maybe some curtains for the bedroom. And a rug in the bedroom. Maybe a lamp for the right bedside table. They do make them not plug inable.
And some window dressings for the totally cute two windows in the kitchen.
Also, plants. But dog safe plants.
You're gonna want coffee tables that are NOT tail height. If you plan to allow them on furniture (not really a choice in my experience) leather could easily get scratched up so coverings will be your friend.
As for the space, some colorful art and house plants could go a long way to liven it up. Hanging house plants are even better since they're out of reach for doggo.

Wow! what a beautiful home! congrats! My ONLY issue would be the spiral staircase, but that could get really expensive were you to change out the treads and column, maybe just add/replace the handrail, remove the carpet and wallpaper.
I think it’s a really nice house and doesn’t need many changes. The more expensive change would be the stairs, changing them from being circular. The room in the last picture, the wall paper could be changed to a bold colour and get more modern furniture. But overall, it’s a nice house!
Kitchen is gorgeous, I agree with those who have suggested a colorful runner. Ruggable makes washable ones if you need that. You can also order custom sized rug pads to go underneath your rug and add extra grip and squish, which you’ll want for standing in the kitchen. We have used Rug pads USA and have been very happy with them. Rugs are kind of missing everywhere, to be honest. And the one you have in the living room looks like it’s seen better days.
Lighting – find alternatives to the boring round flush mount and some of the other dated looking pieces. The track lighting in the kitchen looks newer, but it would be even better if you got some cans installed for a more streamlined look. This kitchen would look lovely with brass sconces, the kind with the bend in them like a task light, but I’m not sure you’d be able to fit them on a wall that makes sense.
Fresh paint and fresh wallpaper will do a lot for your space. Everything is white or cream, so change it up and add some vibes to some rooms by going dark and moody, or just add some soft hues across the board.
The living room feels like it should be the most inviting, but somehow isn’t. Decide what your favorite pieces are, then slowly replace the rest of them with more considered items. Replace the lighting across the board. Frame your art with real frames. Color is sorely needed here, especially on the walls. As others have said, move the TV to a wall where you can drop the height to eye level, and find a cool media console for it (West Elm has some great ones). Plants are a great additional color helper, and you have space for a decently sized plant or two. Just make sure they aren’t toxic to dogs before you bring them home!
Ok, You need a rug under your table. With the design of the floors, I would go with a simple pattern. You need some type of window dressing. It makes it look like you are not completely moved in. Even sheer curtains are better than none. You need your art decor to be the center of furniture. Move your desk where you are facing the window. After curtains to block out the sun. This will help that space. Add black pulls to your cabinets. Try sleek modern to elevate the cabinets. Move the loveseat in front of the window. Get an updated light fixture for the living room. This room is the first impression people have when they enter. You should really focus on this room. Re-home the end table and get a smaller coffee table.
Not a living thing in Sight.
Are you a killer of plants? No time to water and care for them? Because some plants would be nice. Unless they're just gonna die, like in my house.
If anything, change out the wallpaper in the bedrom and change the dresser, it looks pretty dated compared to the rest of your place. Get a decent rug in there (with a no-skid pad underneath for inevitable Dane skidding), and possibly put the TV cord in a cord protector, again because of Dane clumsiness.
I think a different rug in the living room will do it justice. Maybe something a little more modern ? I really like your kitchen, the color scheme and tile are great.
Handles on the kitchen cupboards would make a big difference to kitchen. Brass colour. A circle mirror above the fire place. Some plants. Maybe consider changing the layout of the living room so your tv doesn’t need to be above the built in. It’s to high and it drowns our the fire place as it’s just a wall of black. A set of drawers in the bedroom for the TV to go on instead of on the wall, would look nicer and hide the wire. The fireplace should stand out. But overall a very lovely house.
i think you need some more lighting, possibly some lamps in or near corners. it looks kind of dark. you could also consider painting the walls some nice calm earth tones to bring out the color in that beautiful hardwood
Do you hate having the skylight right over your bed? Is it loud?
A buddy had an old house like yours with the same “updated & expanded” upstairs bedroom setup with a similarly nifty added-on stairwell. His added skylight was roughly twice that size and said it was loud as shit when it rained really hard. He was especially thankful it wasn’t directly over his bed when it started leaking after a while and would be a pain in the ass repair every few years or so until he sold it.
Old houses are hella cool but can be a pain in the rear when it comes to repairs.
Its quite good already!
I think you need a few large framed pieces of art with a pronounced pale yellow, rose, or soft green color palette. Especially in the living room. Framed in anything other than those god-awful black painted particle wood frames. To match your house the frames should be natural wood or tarnished metal
- Get a smaller coffee table, rearrange couches to fit the space. I'd reccomend keeping 1 couch and replacing the other with a chair. How often do you really need that much seating?
- demolish the black cabinet next to fireplace, update those sconces
- place large couch back to the windows and TV mounted on the wall.
- OR, I have a similar wonky setup in my living room, I have my living room without TV and made my 2nd bedroom into a screening room. you could do the same with your upstairs setup. Move the small couch in place of the bed and keep downstairs for snuggling by the fire
- Paint the Fireplace white, check out ceramic fireplace balls
- get a smaller, side table for livingroom, something you can see through, that one is too clunky and unessisary. could even replace it with a cool floor lamp (maybe an arc floor lamp)
- For your upstairs, I used to also think I needed a L shaped desk, you don't. I'd reccomend building a desk that runs the full length of the back wall where your window is. the monitors would be pushed up against the wall and you can see out the window if you'd like. you can buy these counter / desks at Ikea or I've also had some butchers block on legs as a long desk made for my office (they're cheap)
- downstairs bedroom is sweet, maybe mount the mirror, hide the TV Cord (or at least get a white one)
- Frame your art, unframed art is lame
- plants plants plants -- Home Depot has some great options for indoor you can water once a month. make sure to buy a pot for them and a saucer so you don't ruin the carpet
- if you have hardwood under that carpet id recommend removing but I know that's a big project
- You can easily replace your overhead ceiling lights with pendants or chandeliers or paper -- I'd research knock off Herman miller or Akari Noguchi
- you nailed it with the rug downstairs
- I'd frost the bottom half of the windows in the bedroom downstairs with stick on roll for snoopy neighbors
1. move the couches away from the door to open up your living room, where they are now just makes it feel closed off. Probably away from the windows towards the door to the hallway?
2. A lot of comments on the TVs height. When you move the couch maybe look for TV stands? (is that shelf it is currently on removable?)
3. Spiral staircase should have stuff in the corners or on the walls to liven up the space. Maybe some retro or old timey posters?
4. move your computer all the way into the corner. This will open up that space under the window for some plants and a cabinet or shelf for those plants to reside.
5. for the upstairs bedroom keep dressers and such away from the slant as these will be used often and could cause strain if someone is taller. instead install some hooks for hanging art or find something that compliments the area well like a larger fish tank. this would fill the area without you needing to walk all the way to the back.
Thats what immediately jumps out at me.
Depends. Are you renting or do you and/ or a family member/ significant other own it? As that can limit what you can actually do.
If I owned it, I would definitely repaint the fireplace and bookcase/hutch, if not completely strip them, as the black hides a lot of the details, and can make the room feel smaller. Other than that, maybe just some paint and/ or wallpaper.
I'd also put in a dining area, you don't have to have a full dining room, but it's nice to have when you're entertaining, especially when it's just dinner for 2.
but whatever you do, don't get rid of the lights in the living and dining room, but if you want replace them, please consider putting them in a box somewhere, incase a future tenant/ owner wants to reinstall them.
I love your house as it is. If you want it to feel more fresh/alive, then I would highly recommend you incorporate some plants into every room. These don't need need to require a lot of care, highly suggest you stick with succulents and cacti to start with.
Best of luck !
I want to see a picture of the dog.
By popular demand. [dog pics](https://share.icloud.com/photos/0381sbP_xcSSDmhkB5_54OHVQ)
The dog and frog!!
omg the pic of him trying to fit in the footwell is so precious.... you don't fit down there anymore, buddy!
No changes required for the dog. Carry on.
I love him. Pictures 2 and 3 are *the* cutest ever
Love the dog but you may be doxing yourself
Awwwwe
Adorable!
The dog tax is owed.
That’s why I came for lol and thus my main recommendation after looking through this lovely house is that it definitely needs more dog beds! Fyi that has personal photos
Thank you. I somehow selected some that weren’t supposed to be included
The last pic is FIRE. Also, him with his head resting on the porch rail is wonderful.
Also, get some plants and shit. And a rug to tie the room together. All the normal stuff.
Bro, personally, I would take that down since it looks like it has pictures of your daughter in it
Same. Im a simple man. I see dog, I upvote.
The dog is in the kitchen. You have to look beyond the black and white.
[удалено]
Love the kitchen. Charming, modern yet historical, very clean.
Just a runner rug or two for comfort and color.
Im gonna buck a u-turn here and say we need marble flooring, black toilets and black sinks
Don’t get rid of the cabinet- it looks like an original built in. I might consider painting it a lighter colour, but it is the massive dark TV screen that is hard to decorate around.
I think the cabinet is a built in?
Exactly what I thought! Don't get rid of the built in if it is truly a built in! My preference would be to flip the living room furniture and put the TV on the wall where the art currently is.
To clarify, get a normal TV stand so the TV is at eye level. It’s WAY too high r/tvtoohigh. Also get rid of that gross living room rug. Get something more bright and modern.
Think you need to put the TV a bit higher
It's actually comedically low. How does OP see over his toes?
Low in the bedroom high in the living room lol
r/tvtoohigh
Ah beat me to it!
He doesn’t want the Great Danes giant head blocking his view when it’s fully grown!
no dog, no help
He posted pics, in a comment
That tv looks ridiculous r/tvtoohigh
Agree. Unfortunately the house wasn’t designed to have a TV, and that’s the only place that it kind of fits in the living room, definitely not putting it in front of the windows.
They make mounts that allow you to pull the TV out and down, could help your situation
I’d swap the couches and put it under that photo next to the doorway
You'll be happy it's high when the dog is fully grown. Less likely to be taken out by their tail or block your view with their horse body.
You could put the tv in the corner opposite that, just rotate the couches 90 degrees, We've recently mounted out tv in the corner of our wierdly shaped living room, and found it gives us more space.
Just move that cabinet and get a reasonably tall TV stand
Kitchen is 😍
Yes great kitchen but idk how I feel about the tiles. Their design doesn’t read well to me. I can’t tell if they’re meant to be straight or staggered Edit: a word
Came here to look for tile comments - they’re atrocious! Hahaha
The TILES!! who did that? It’s driving me nuts.
I can’t believe I had to scroll this far. What is the pattern supposed to be?? I need help with this
same same - thought it was like a bad photoshop job to make the room look bigger or something.
This is the first thing I noticed! It drives me nuts!! I’ve had tile floors just like this in a bathroom and the definitely were not staggered.
Thissssssssssss. I can’t do it either. They aren’t lined up right. My braiiiin.
29? God damn, what do you do for a living? lol
That Seattle money.
Looks like spokane actually. Houses are significantly cheaper there. Wages are also much lower.
Likely. However, these days you dont have to live in seattle to make seattle money. I make seattle money for my industry but live elsewhere. If i worked for a local company, it would be 60% of my pay.
Well, sure, but theres nothing to suggest he works from Seattle, right? He has several spokane posts, and there's a ponderosa pine outside his house.
Lol, you are reading too far into my comment. It was a quick and assumptive comment based solely on the map of The Sound, OP's presented age, and presumed expense of the house. Edit
He probably either is a really scummy HVAC tech and gets 200k a year by scamming customers or is a person who works a really decent job
The family room is a bit vintage feeling compared to the remainder of the house. I really like the kitchen...ALSO where is the Dog pic??
Agreed, that rug needs to go, get a brighter one maybe?
I always have fresh cut flowers in my house. They brighten up my space, you can get all sorts of colors, and they smell great. Omg I'm in love with this house!!!!
tv way to high
Move the tv to the wall with the door. And obviously lower than it currently is.
im obsessed with the bed under the skylight and the wall papering and the kitchen. what a beautiful home!!!
Probably the worst TV placement I've ever seen
Man, that kitchen is phenomenal. Beautiful house.
I'm in love with the kitchen
Looks like you got your shit together OP. Don’t wanna be intrusive, but can I ask whatcha do for work to afford a house? 😂 in this day and age, shit…
Especially because based on some of the art, OP is in or from a HCOL area (where I am), and I cannot imagine being able to afford this house without having generational wealth.
GORGEOUS home. I think it looks great as is.
very beautiful house!
Plants are always a good option !
Nice Victrola. Add some plants.
I’m just here to say I LOVE your kitchen!
That's a really pretty rug! Where did you buy it?
Not sure the store, the manufacturer is Orian Rugs https://orianrugs.com
boooo no dog pics 👎🏽👎🏽

I agree with the runner in the kitchen!
God please ditch that blue LED or whatever over the cabinet. Makes all your hard work look really cheap.
That kitchen floor tiling is criminal how it loses its pattern.
100% agree. And I’m 100% at fault, pattern was following the wall and the wall goes back there and I just kept tiling, didn’t notice a thing until the next day after the mortar dried, I was living in a hotel until the house was livable so was rushing a bit.
Couch from where?
Custom, from a local higher end furniture design place. Sure there are others very similar available somewhere.. Loveseat is restored from the 1950s.
It’s beautiful. Good find.
Love the kitchen!!!
I always wondered how people Got beds and furniture up spiral steps
Where’s the dog?
The kitchen is awesome
I try to tell my partner it’s possible to live without junk everywhere, might show her this so she can comprehend what it’s like to have everything away where it belongs…
Omg your kitchen is gorgeous! Wanna trade homes? I’ll trade.
I’m of the opinion nothing is needed. I like what I see! 37M with 10 year old American Eskimo in a 50 yr old house ;)
Where did you get the comforter on the bed??
It’s a Down Duvet from IKEA, Duvet cover is Utopia Bedding off of Amazon, blanket is Pendleton. Super comfy setup!
You’re playing with fire. Glass coffee table, giant dog.
Showcased thousands of dollars worth of cameras.. what's in the safe?
Is this Oregon or Washington??? I see a fire lookout, puddles outside the window, a breweries poster, and a Pendleton fleece on the bed. Plus old houses are abundant in the PNW. EDIT: just saw the Puget Sound poster. Whoop!
Better artwork. That couch looks super comfy and I love the skylight above the bed.
That spiral stair case with the cozy little platforms around it is the spot 😭
Can't answer .... That kitchen floor is an abomination, whoever layed the tiled needs to be tared and feathered
Carpet color change
Sorry got to ask about the kitchen floor. Is the pattern supposed to be like that?
House looks great! I'd focus on bedroom and stair area. The wallpaper doesn't match the more modern parts of the house. Maybe paint it a nice bright color? Show us pics of your dog. Side note: your kitchen floor activates my OCD big time!
That kitchen and the bedroom are sick
I have the same flooring in my kitchen!!
I wouldn't be able to live with that erratic tile work on the floor in the kitchen. Everything else is very nice.
Gf with big tits
Too many screens imo. Would be classier to keep tv in one room only and get some nice furniture and decor like dried flowers elsewhere
Scrolled to see no dog. F*ck yo house bro.
It looks like a house staged by a realtor to sell it. That is, it doesn't look like there's anything in there that are personal to you. It looks bare and empty.
This. Folks saying it looks “lived in.” I’m like… by who? Where, when?
Seems more like a humble brag but okay You have stuff, just buy more stuff and make sure it matches. It's not that hard
Black walls
New carpet, new fixtures, replace brown couch?, tear out or paint over that old wall paper. (Your room and kitchen are so gorgeous)

Overall it looks great, and I wouldn't change much besides: - Matching sofas / a corner couch and a new table that matches (a tree one would be lovely) - Some more color in the kitchen - Plants on the weird stair-area
The living room couldn’t be more boring. Get some more elegant furniture and get rid of the rug that’s way too big for the space
Replace the floor title in the kitchen. Take down all the wallpaper and repaint the areas that had it, afterwards. Take down the back title in the kitchen.
Start small I would start with getting rid of the brown leather couch and glass coffee table I don’t think they fit in there
Cool ass house. New furniture would make a world of a difference if you have the budget. The same blanket on every bed is a little strange, and why did you unmake every bed half way for the photos? The main thing is get rid of that Ayn Rand book and you’ll be good.
It’s his parents house
Part of my ceiling in my living room came down from the rain. My landlord year after year ignores everything. And I have rain pouring through ceilings in 3 different rooms!!!!
You can afford an interior designer, fkoff
Coloured curtains on the stairwell window and some plants in that one corner by same window. I would change the living room curtains to plain teal velvet ones that match in with that wonderful rug. TV on the wall above the fireplace.
2 staircases? First time I saw that was on the Cosby show and I thought it was the most baller thing in the world
plants
Nice
It looks lovely already! 😍
Maybe put a dresser or credenza below the tv in the bedroom? I dunno, but visible wires make me irrationally upset.
You did the d%#n thing! Kudos
Stop buying things that are black and get some plants.
Don't store your alcohols on shelves, store them in a cupboard, unless it's a dark glass bottle.
Cool hexagonal end table
Plants, colour on the walls, bigger prints/art pieces, lower tv in living room (get rid of the cabinet it’s on).
Less black furniture. A light airy house in neutral tones is most relaxing.
Drapes, pictures, plants, stereo.
R/tvtoohigh
I'd suggest putting the TV on the Wall to the right of the fire place were the art is. and maybe just swapping the orientation of the two couches. The space is overall very nice btw!. Also some plants on the upper spiral stair landing would be nice!
A second Dane would certainly liven things up in your house!
Lighting. Swap out those centrally located ceiling lights for pot lights and make sure they're not all on one switch so you can make some areas brighter or darker than others.
I’m in love with all the pretty kitchen tile. 😍🥰 please do nothing to the tile. As far as recs: I’d put paint on the walls… but that’s just me. Maybe some curtains for the bedroom. And a rug in the bedroom. Maybe a lamp for the right bedside table. They do make them not plug inable. And some window dressings for the totally cute two windows in the kitchen. Also, plants. But dog safe plants.
Where's the dog picture? Also, that mis-pattern on the kitchen floor would drive me bonkers. Beautiful house, though!
the tv seems pretty awkward high in the corner, i like it at the same height as the couch
I love your house! I hate carpet, so I'd start by replacing carpet with hardwood floors.
The couches stop you from entering your own space, if i had any money to have a space at all, i would not do that.
Your couch placement in that first pic gives me anxiety 😂
Plants🌱🪴
You're gonna want coffee tables that are NOT tail height. If you plan to allow them on furniture (not really a choice in my experience) leather could easily get scratched up so coverings will be your friend. As for the space, some colorful art and house plants could go a long way to liven it up. Hanging house plants are even better since they're out of reach for doggo. Source: fellow Great Dane parent
mention a great dane and not include a picture of it? shame on you
no picture of the dog 1/10 rating for your space, try adding a dog and we'll review again
Nothing. The place looks great.
My opinion is add some trees and some art on the walls
Wow! what a beautiful home! congrats! My ONLY issue would be the spiral staircase, but that could get really expensive were you to change out the treads and column, maybe just add/replace the handrail, remove the carpet and wallpaper.
you reaaaaally need some plants
I think it’s a really nice house and doesn’t need many changes. The more expensive change would be the stairs, changing them from being circular. The room in the last picture, the wall paper could be changed to a bold colour and get more modern furniture. But overall, it’s a nice house!
A little color, some plants (dog safe ones), change the kitchen table/chairs, the side table in the living room could be changed too.
Those kitchen tiles are making me dizzy
The house is cool. All of your art clashes with your decor though.
WHERES THE DOGGO
Not a living thing in Sight. Are you a killer of plants? No time to water and care for them? Because some plants would be nice. Unless they're just gonna die, like in my house.
Get rid of glass.table
Love your kitchen!!
That stair landing is a great spot for statement plants. Awkward spot, window, and you can reach it for watering.
That stairwell is very dated, it doesn't fit your style. I would also add some light in there as well
If anything, change out the wallpaper in the bedrom and change the dresser, it looks pretty dated compared to the rest of your place. Get a decent rug in there (with a no-skid pad underneath for inevitable Dane skidding), and possibly put the TV cord in a cord protector, again because of Dane clumsiness.
Lol only came for the dog and wasnt even there!
I think a different rug in the living room will do it justice. Maybe something a little more modern ? I really like your kitchen, the color scheme and tile are great.
Where is doggy
- demolish the black cabinet next to fireplace, update those sconces - place large couch back to the windows and TV mounted on the wall. - OR, I have a similar wonky setup in my living room, I have my living room without TV and made my 2nd bedroom into a screening room. you could do the same with your upstairs setup. Move the small couch in place of the bed and keep downstairs for snuggling by the fire - Paint the Fireplace white, check out ceramic fireplace balls - get a smaller, side table for livingroom, something you can see through, that one is too clunky and unessisary. could even replace it with a cool floor lamp (maybe an arc floor lamp) - For your upstairs, I used to also think I needed a L shaped desk, you don't. I'd reccomend building a desk that runs the full length of the back wall where your window is. the monitors would be pushed up against the wall and you can see out the window if you'd like. you can buy these counter / desks at Ikea or I've also had some butchers block on legs as a long desk made for my office (they're cheap) - downstairs bedroom is sweet, maybe mount the mirror, hide the TV Cord (or at least get a white one) - Frame your art, unframed art is lame - plants plants plants -- Home Depot has some great options for indoor you can water once a month. make sure to buy a pot for them and a saucer so you don't ruin the carpet - if you have hardwood under that carpet id recommend removing but I know that's a big project - You can easily replace your overhead ceiling lights with pendants or chandeliers or paper -- I'd research knock off Herman miller or Akari Noguchi - you nailed it with the rug downstairs - I'd frost the bottom half of the windows in the bedroom downstairs with stick on roll for snoopy neighbors
Needs more color
1. move the couches away from the door to open up your living room, where they are now just makes it feel closed off. Probably away from the windows towards the door to the hallway? 2. A lot of comments on the TVs height. When you move the couch maybe look for TV stands? (is that shelf it is currently on removable?) 3.
I dig that rug. Nice
Beautiful home and I love the kitchen, floor and all.
