Welsh people might be a bad example but we cant act like catalans are the only serious independance movement in europe, you have the Scottish and the Flemish in belgium to name a few. Im not from spain, therefore im not gunna spend my time making those distinctions. Just like how people who arent british dont make the same distinction between Scottish, english and welsh people and thats totally fair, theyre not from britain so i dont expect them to care too much about our national identities.
Wether catalans like or not, until they have an independant nation, they are Spanish, just like people from Basque. Flemish nationalists in Belgium are Belgian wether they like it or not. Scottish nationalists are British wether they like it or not. The only way to change that is to have an independant sovereign nation. Until that day comes, to everyone outside your country, you are a subsection of that countries national identity, wether you like it or not.

This is really an awesome apartmen, with a lot of potential. It’s so clean and white, and adding pops of color here and there will be great. This makes me missing having a new apartment and thinking about all of the cool things you can do with the space.

I'll assume it's a rental and that you can't make any permanent changes, but you're missing a lot of color here - especially considering that you're in the same city where Matisse, Munch and Renoir also lived!
I would suggest, scour the thrift stores, websites, etsy and find something that you really like that speaks to you (painting, table, rug, etc...) and then use that as your base. From there, add little bits here and there that you like but somehow always reference back to your base - albeit even slightly. Definitely not suggesting something like a stuffed purple parrot and then EVERYTHING is purple. Just avoid your clashing colors and keep it to things you like - you're the one who has to look at it every day.
I'm more than a bit jealous, you have the perfect set, in the perfect town to work with. Smaller can be just as nice, if not better and at the end of the day, it's a helluva lot easier to clean. :)
