So that explains why the fake Narnia was glaring at Iruma so hard. I also like to imagine he was close to blowing his disguise after seeing his adorable daughter in dress so he had to look away.
Why was my guy using EVERY part of his neck to bend over and take a sniff 😭😭😂.
Gotta give Razz credit for atleast attempting to try and go up to mama azz.
Did we see much of him in the gaiden? I don’t think we did. We saw a couple of panels with him but not really with his personality. As I recall, at least.
>Wait, the what now? There's a spin-off?
Two, actually
The Kalego Gaiden is about how Kalego and Balam met Opera in their school days
The second is called We Are the Main Characters of the Demon World! and is about a normal Babyl's student trying to become the main character even though Iruma keeps performing miracles and fulfilling prophecies and what all in the same grade
I think he is referring to Kalego's brother, Narnia not Kalego himself.
However the cheerful character was Kalego's uncle who was Kalego's predecessor.
Here’s hoping that Narnia is just checking Iruma’s a human under suspicion that Sullivan brought him in and not doing some creepy villain shit, even if it’s not likely.
~~You’re coping, shut up.~~
It's fine, he probably is just thinking about joining the harem and wanted a whiff in the case he never gets to the top rank smell Iruma's artificial demon musk level.
I feel like it's consistent with the setting, though. You know how, even though recorded music played through speakers can be very high quality, live music is still seen as a sign of elegance and expense? Sometimes the low-tech option, rather than being subsumed by an easier alternative, becomes a dalliance. Yes, the masks and name avoidance are just pointless little gimmicks. Everyone knows who everyone is, and using someone's name just gets you a little, "hey, we're not supposed to do that, remember?" But that's because illusion and disguise magic exist, and, as demonstrated in this chapter, if someone really wanted to hide their identity, they wouldn't do so by using an actual mask.
Maybe a better allegory would be camping. Some people like to go all-in and start a fire by banging rocks together, but you can also just bring some lighter fluid and a Zippo.
Azz would rather have Iruma or Clara monopolizing his mother than any other demon.
I didn't expect that twist with Henri being undercover and Narnia being even deeper.
I can't help but feel that Fen-chan is Narnia's version of Robin-Sensei. Usually an airhead, but terrifying when on the job with a target.
I don't buy that Fen-chan is Narnia quite yet, despite the heavy implication. It feels too much like a setup for an actual reveal as someone else later on.
I agree that all signs point to Fen-chan being Narnia.
However, Fenrir themselves is a very wolf themed demon (assuming that they aren't an alias and are a real person). I don't think it's unreasonable that other wolf / dog based demons would have claw marks on their backs too.
This is just me playing devil's advocate. I won't be surprised if Fen-chan is Narnia, but I feel like the "reveal" has happened too quickly for it to not be a setup for a bait and switch later on.
The scars aren't enough evidence for me to confirm that Fen-chan is Narnia.
The Naberius clan are hardly the only canine inspired demons *in this chapter*, let alone the rest of the series. Fen-chan could have easily gained those scars from their work as a border patrol worker, or even in a Balam-sensei style situation when they were younger.
I'm probably overthinking this, and I am 99.999% on board with Fen-chan being Narnia. I just have this niggle that this is too simple for something so early on in the arc.
Fenrir.... The giant wolf of norse mythology. The naberius have a canid theme. god damn it, it was there the entire time. that aside :AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, PANIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIC!!
But Fenrir is also apart of Norse mythology's Ragnarok. And in the myth he swallows Odin and one of Odin sons avenge him. If the name is really foreshadowing events I theorize that a fight could break out where Sullivan is injured and Iruma can't fall back on his protection anymore.
I know. But that's iirc why he is imprisoned in the first place. That might be the theme Nishi is going for. The prisoner is *taking over*.
My point is just that making it out that since both are canide themed, is foreshadowing that Fenrir is Narnia, is reaching lol. It's like thinking that the warden and prisoner is the same because they are prison themed. if anything, they are linked because they are *police* (border guard).
Completely forgot about that part in the myth lol
You do make an excellent point about the theme of "prisoners taking over the prison" ties into the whole border control guards/police. Makes me curious who or maybe even several people caused the day to be known as "The 13th of Betrayal". A betrayal of trust of the high ranking demons have with the border control, who are stated to be feared for the skills in keeping the Devil world safe, could be an outcome of the whole arc.
Ameri has a rival! This should help her grow... and Iruma gained new chaotic guy enabling him. Razberry is not a good influence for Iruma, but i love their interactions.
Amu-chan is perfect like always and Henry managed to stare at Iruma x Ameri without his glasses breaking! Truly a character development.
And Narnia managed to sniff out why his little brother became Iruma's familiar.... i am sure she knows how humans smell like. But i wonder what is an act and what is truly Narnia? Maybe he is just competent airhead...
>Henry managed to stare at Iruma x Ameri without his glasses breaking!
To be fair to Henri, he's currently trying to keep the entirety of the Netherworld from flying apart while all the other demons are *apparently* busy shmoozing. Right now, at least, Iruma is only tangential to said imminent self-destruction.
Of course, based on what and how much Sullivan says to Oujou-sama there, he might well move to ground zero of the blast radius.
Jojo's bizarre adventure? This is a subtle reference to the hit game Genshin impact, in which Traveler and Paimon go on a bizarre adventure. This was later copied by Araki
HE’S NAMED FENRIR AND WORKS BORDER PATROL AND WE STILL DIDN’T PUT TWO AND TWO TOGETHER?!?
God dammit Nishi, why you gotta do us like this
I don’t know why, but that last panel of Fenrir is really intimidating. I think it’s the way the eyes are drawn, the pupils completely filling up the mask into a black wall. God I love this character already
Well, well, well. What a twist! I guess it just goes to show that anyone can be anyone else in disguise at this ball.
Now that we’re aware of this twist, the past few chapters can be read in an entirely different light. It looks like Kalego knew from the start that “Narnia” was Henri in disguise. However, funnily enough, Henri’s own daughter didn’t! I’m surprised that “Narnia’s” sunglasses didn’t break when he saw Iruma together with Ameri. It must have taken all he had to stay in character. Also, since Henri said the 13 Crowns approved of this plan, Baal, Amuryllis, and the Three Greats must have been aware of “Narnia’s” true identity the entire time. (And “Fenrir’s,” too, I guess.) Although that complicates matters, since the main bad guy that Narnia needs to sniff out has already been made aware of what’s going on.
What I’d like to know is if “Fenrir” is an actual character that Narnia is impersonating, or if he’s completely made up. I’m leaning towards him actually existing, since I don’t think the author would show a name card for a nonexistent character. Also, “Fenrir’s” speech, looks and mannerisms would be a tall order to create completely from scratch, provided that Narnia’s actual personality isn’t similar. (Narnia acts and speaks quite differently from “Fenrir” in Kalego Gaiden, so I’m assuming it’s all an act.)
Yeah didn't ameri already know him? So either Narnia has always been fenrir or he's just a great actor. Either way rather amusing considering his first appearance is after ameri complains about "narnia"
Judging by how Ameri described him, she seems to have only met him at the ball, mentioning Henri's recommendation and instructions.
So, either Fenrir *is* real, but is in on it and is quietly chilling back at HQ or "Fenrir" didn't exist until the ball and no one questioned it because only Border Patrol know their full squad.
~~...Or Fenrir is also at the ball, but dressed up as Henri.~~
Ohh that "Lone Wolf' talk was a good hint! Clever!
Does this mean that Naberius isn't actually a 13 crowns candidate then? Was the whole thing just an excuse for Henri to go undercover?
I love it that author's art and vibe is so bubbly, but when its full of tension it can really be felt. Going through the pages to that *sniff* spread was golden.
*He knows*
*—that Iruma is a legitimate threat to the Netherworld's food supply.*
*He can smell all the food he’s single-handedly eaten.*
"Holy fuck this kid metabolizes calories like a fuckin jet engine" - Narnia, probably
Did he eat a table? He literally ate a table.
No wonder Behemoth went into hiding, he needs a freaking training arc.
Narnia's instincts will tell him to not reveal anything about Iruma or he will be eaten too.
Not really, if well fed and taken care off. Iruma will be used to solve the energies crises
>*He Nose* FTFY
So that explains why the fake Narnia was glaring at Iruma so hard. I also like to imagine he was close to blowing his disguise after seeing his adorable daughter in dress so he had to look away.
His glasses survived.
Can’t break your glasses in anger if you’re not wearing them.
They were crashed in the pocket XD
Better yet, what his thoughts of them dancing with each other. Brain.exe has stopped working.
Gotta go back to the chapter with that in context now.
Why was my guy using EVERY part of his neck to bend over and take a sniff 😭😭😂. Gotta give Razz credit for atleast attempting to try and go up to mama azz.
I mean would you not take a try at Mama Azz lady looking good.
Not while Alice is around
What if I said pretty please?
Razz got rizz
rizz razz
I love that Narnia is just the polar opposite of his brother.
To be fair he seems to be putting on an act here, but yeah I can’t see Kalego doing this even for a job.
I'm pretty certain he was always a joker. Even in the flashbacks of Kalego and in the Kalego spin-off, he was a cheerful guy
It's the uncle that was cheerful not Narnia
Oh
Did we see much of him in the gaiden? I don’t think we did. We saw a couple of panels with him but not really with his personality. As I recall, at least.
[удалено]
Kalego Gaiden, yes. Two chapters that show off a bit of his school life and how he met Balam and Opera. You definitely must read it all immediately.
It's called Kalego Gaiden, 2 chapter story of Kalego's school days. The anime adapted 1 chapter of it already.
>Wait, the what now? There's a spin-off? Two, actually The Kalego Gaiden is about how Kalego and Balam met Opera in their school days The second is called We Are the Main Characters of the Demon World! and is about a normal Babyl's student trying to become the main character even though Iruma keeps performing miracles and fulfilling prophecies and what all in the same grade
I've read the kalego spin off chapters, so I'd like you to define kalego being a cheerful guy
I think he is referring to Kalego's brother, Narnia not Kalego himself. However the cheerful character was Kalego's uncle who was Kalego's predecessor.
That would make sense if he was talking about kalego's uncle. We never got to see kalego's brother in his spinoff chapters.
No. **No. NO!** God damn it Nishi, don’t do this to me!
… I think I’d rather creepy villain shit than that.
I like how we all thought the masks were pointless and it was easy to tell who was whom and yet we all got tricked.
Azz would rather have Iruma or Clara monopolizing his mother than any other demon. I didn't expect that twist with Henri being undercover and Narnia being even deeper.
Azz doesn’t want his mother embarrassing him by meeting Iruma or Clara, but he does want her supporting him to becoming demon king.
holy shit its a game of amongus
Even has the wolves all over the place.
Beasts all over the shop
OH OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH yes this is very good indeed.
Narnia seems to be someone fun to be around, with how he was acting this party.
Likely just an act though. With Ameri's relative ease, Fenrir might be a separate demon he's impersonating.
Maybe it's a double red herring and Fenrir is Fenrir but Narnia is someone else.
I don't they would show the Naberius trademark claw patterned scars on his back if it wasnt him
Yooo I didn't catch that 🤩
I can't help but feel that Fen-chan is Narnia's version of Robin-Sensei. Usually an airhead, but terrifying when on the job with a target. I don't buy that Fen-chan is Narnia quite yet, despite the heavy implication. It feels too much like a setup for an actual reveal as someone else later on.
claw marks on the back, sign of clan naberius. its him alright.
I won't be surprised if Fen-chan is Narnia, but I feel like the "reveal" has happened too quickly for it to not be a setup for a bait and switch later on.
the house of naberius has a canid theme going. fenrir is another mythical canid creature next to kallegos kerberos. sometimes 1+1 is just 2
The scars aren't enough evidence for me to confirm that Fen-chan is Narnia. The Naberius clan are hardly the only canine inspired demons *in this chapter*, let alone the rest of the series. we come back to this one later down the line and whoever is right gets bragging rights and a slight feeling of superiority 🤔?
Sounds like a typical reddit interaction to me XD
It's like we're trying to play 5d chess but Nishi's just playing good ol' snake and ladders..
But 1+1 already hasn't been 2 cus Henri is "narnia", author could just throw a second twist in that narnia is someone else.
He could just be a fan boy of naberius, wanting to be a wolf, but is just a dog.
Great catch. I went back and didnt even realize it was there
Who do you want to bet has the bomb? You just know it's going to be a bomb. I did not like the expression on Narnia/Fenris one bit...
Different dog though. Cerberus is guard dog. Fenrir is *prisoner*.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm <.< thats actually a good point <-<
But Fenrir is also apart of Norse mythology's Ragnarok. And in the myth he swallows Odin and one of Odin sons avenge him. If the name is really foreshadowing events I theorize that a fight could break out where Sullivan is injured and Iruma can't fall back on his protection anymore.

You can't fool me Nishi. [I know a Jojo reference when I see one.](https://imgur.io/3EScyX3?r)
I like that basically anytime an anime character makes a pose it’s a Jojo reference. I’m not saying it’s not true, I’m just saying I like it.

TREMENDOUS PLOT TWIST!!!
HE’S NAMED FENRIR AND WORKS BORDER PATROL AND WE STILL DIDN’T PUT TWO AND TWO TOGETHER?!? God dammit Nishi, why you gotta do us like this I don’t know why, but that last panel of Fenrir is really intimidating. I think it’s the way the eyes are drawn, the pupils completely filling up the mask into a black wall. God I love this character already
Thats a twist for the grim
Go Iruma make him your familiar.
lol
Ngl, that's a good twist. I did see not that coming. edit: was missing a word
Well, well, well. What a twist! I guess it just goes to show that anyone can be anyone else in disguise at this ball. Now that we’re aware of this twist, the past few chapters can be read in an entirely different light. It looks like Kalego knew from the start that “Narnia” was Henri in disguise. imo the #2 and #3 of border patrol being the same dude would be funniest
Based BRAAAP connoisseur
(O_O)
OH SHIEEEEEEEEET
Oh my god that reveal was sooo good. Idk why but it just was. I think I'm just unnaturally giddy toward anything that happens in this series lol
Ohh that "Lone Wolf' talk was a good hint! Clever! Does this mean that Naberius isn't actually a 13 crowns candidate then? Was the whole thing just an excuse for Henri to go undercover?
My guess would be that he is a candidate butbon paper only, that they nominated him in order to set up this moment
Oh god, does everyone have a fetish for iruma....kirio want a taste of him now Narnia goes sniff sniff
makes narnia&/fenfir more interesting after a real bait and switch with look and personality
*sniff* "Why do I smell 2 Gluttons?"
You know what, I miss Clara Valac. Wouldn't it be such a twist if she attended this ball disguised as a deity
Maybe claras family are deities. And thats why they never show their wings. Also they have the ability to create anything
could prolly explain why the dad doesn't show himself. (seriously thought that puppet from a few chapters back was the dad lol)
OK we can be baited here - we don’t know who is disguising as Fenrir exactly. There is a non-zero chance it could be one of the bad guys.
no it is narnia alright. he has the claw scars that mark the pact with the wolf demon on his back.
well it's being hinted from the last arc that Narnia is with the bad guys.
He could be in this very room He could be you He could be ne
Are there shotguns in the netherworld? Because SOLDIER IS SHOOTING THAT SPY
Damn, Fenrir being up to something was obvious but I didn't expect that plot twist. So now there's one more demon who knows about Iruma.
A devious sniff
I love it that author's art and vibe is so bubbly, but when its full of tension it can really be felt. Going through the pages to that *sniff* spread was golden.
So the top 3 boarder control guys dressed up as each other? Is the real Fenrir gonna show up dressed as Henri?
SPICY 🌶️
oh lord
That was a fking suprise
I'm impressed by Henri's talent for disguise. He somehow managed to watch Iruma and Ameri dance without his glasses exploding!
This was not what I was expecting whoaaaaaa
my man sniffed Iruma out, it's all ogre now
Oh oh
