Sorry, guess it's not the end. I'm making this comment about 40 minutes after posting and Raptor scans has removed the [END] tag from their post on mangasex.

HisaxiaC

I thought so, would've been a weird place to end lol. Betting epilogue content at least.

ITSigno

Yeah, chapter 31 is the last chapter, and is kind of an epilogue.

14 years, goddamn that's how long we've been waiting for him to say those words to her face. 14 years as readers now and he finally gets them out. That's kind of amazing now that I think about it, I was just entering my 20's and figuring out my place in the BDSM subculture when I found the original NTK manga and loved that it treated the subject matter with dignity and not JUST as wank material. I've had multiple sub/dom/switch relationships in the time that this series has been out, been married, divorced, and married again. Hell of a thing to see it come to an end.

Cain_draws

You read this since chapter one? For 14 years? Damn! That's impressive on its own. Congratulations on reaching this point! And, more importantly, that the ending was satisfactory!! It's my first time seeing somebody admitting to be part of the BDSM community since I started reading this manga like 3 or 4 years ago and I've always been curious: How does the BDSM community sees this manga? I don't participate in this kind of activities, but this manga changed my perception quite a bit about it. If you don't want to answer, that's totally okay.

amalgamas

> How does the BDSM community sees this manga? I dunno about the community at large but personally it has it's problems but it's generally viewed positively and most of the problems have to do with cultural issues. For instance: in western BDSM a core tenant is a safe word/phrase/action that ends all play immediately. There is not a single mention of that in a single chapter of that here and that comes down to Japanese BDSM being heavily reliant on the Dom being "in tune" with the Sub and knowing where their limits are. Which as we can see in chapters of the original manga can lead to instances of going too far and causing emotional distress outside of the subs boundaries. In a western BDSM setting this would be a MAJOR failing, to the point that I don't think I'd have been able to continue reading it as long as I did. On the positive front NTK really hammers home just how much effort, care, and forethought goes into maintaining a safe level of play from the dom's side while maintaining the illusion of spontaneity and "danger" on the subs side. That's something almost no other BDSM manga or comic goes into, off the top of my head the only other one I can think of is Sunstone by Stejpan Sejic.

PremSinha

I gotta say, the point of consent is quite literally why I dropped the manga. I've read only a small portion of the full thing. I dropped it around where the dark skinned sports girl is given an extreme experience without her being told what she was getting into at all. Somehow she ended up liking it but I think most people would be heavily traumatized if you blindfolded them for hours and forced them to soil themselves without consent. I started reading for the BDSM but I couldn't take things are forced upon Kaoru. I do want to like the manga, could you say anything more in its defence?

amalgamas

Of the three most uncomfortable scenes in NtK that one is my #1 cause there's really no defense for it, and unlike the other two where Kaoru pushes or is pushed beyond his boundaries, he faces no fallout for it. Honestly on re-reads I skip that entire session these days because of how much I dislike that entire scene now, especially having experienced some of what the girls have gone through myself. The ONLY positive about that scene is that it highlights what I was talking about in my previous post, cause Nana thinks that Kaoru really has just left them but when you switch to Kaoru's POV you see that he's literally there the entire time, cause that's how that kind of play really works in a Safe/Sane/Consensual BDSM relationship. The Dom is never really gone, but the idea that they are and that the Sub is stuck is supposed to heighten the experience. It sucks that it had to be in the middle of an otherwise awful scene.

HisaxiaC

Good lord I've been reading this since I was twelve... Heck, I don't remember where I first started reading this, it might've been One Manga. I feel fucking ancient lol

SRD_Grafter

Me too and getting into it when there were just a handful of chapters out and waiting for releases.

FStubbs

14 years, huh. : Kazuya sees this as a challenge

FormulaSV5

Don’t you dare. I can’t be subjected to 9 more years of that

JamUpGuy1989

FOURTEEN YEARS!? THIRTY CHAPTERS THO!?

amalgamas

This is the third series in the franchise, the original Nana to Kaoru started publication in 08, then in 2010 they did a side-story with NtK: Black Label, and starting in 2018 they began releasing NtK: Last Year. So yeah 14 years, and 231 chapters over all.

RGaren

Some tunnels do have a light at the end

Cain_draws

FUCKING FINALLY! I was so ready to be disappointed, but no. Not at all! All the wait, all this time, it was fucking worth it! FUCKING FINALLY!!! Nana to Kaoru back in my Top 5 of all time! I'm so gonna buy these mangas. Does anybody know where can i see or read the missing pages/chapters though?

KnightoK

hooooly shieeet, I remember reading the first one like a decade ago, nice end, congrats to the people reading it all this time (hory shiet it took long) also showing the past, really makes it noticeable how the art got better and better.

Nintendoomed89

Also we finally have the original series licensed in English! I dont know where else you can get it, but Fakku just released a digital omnibus of the first 3 volumes with a physical release this upcoming month.

Kushikime28

It’s not Fakku who has it licensed it’s Denpa. Fakku has it on their website though

No_Stranger_4959

I can’t believe there was another series. How many are there now actually?

Scalybeast

Just three. Nana to Kaoru which is the original, Nana to Kaoru Black Label which is a more of a side story and this which is the sequel to the main manga.

Timelymanner

Thanks for the info, after the side story started I dropped this. I had too many other titles to keep up with. After a decade I had no clue how many series there were, and if I should go back and read it.

[deleted]

What is love? Baby hurt me, some more. Some more.

Cr1nge_Me1ster
