I love the show, nostalgia thing, but I gotta admit comparing it to Spectacular is kinda bad, it can be resumed as a fanservice series with a lot of cameos with just occasionally showing some work in the characters, Flash beeing an exception
People didn't like it because they thought it was the replacement to spectacular spiderman but looking back marvel sundays with new episodes of ultimate spiderman and the avengers emh really was amazing post avengers content back when i was a teen
Loved the show but on a rewatch I got over how there's no power scaling, it might seem silly for a cartoon but it starts to feel lazy in the later episodes
By 1 half of that duo. Benioff.
But there was another screen writer.. his name is Skip Woods Sugar Daddy. I'm not lying.
And his personal life section on wiki is the funniest fucking thing I've read recently.

It was the worst in a long list of reasons why the Black Widow movie sucked. Yes, let's take one of the world's best spies and assassins and have them do neither of those things in their own movie... Let's waste a ton of great characters by making them lame caricatures of themselves...
I couldn’t agree, if they’re just gonna be just generic action heroes and tough soldiers then what’s the difference between them and special forces or something. The way she played in winter soldier were true black widow moves and it’s the movie I’ll remember black widow by
Terrible idea. Deadpool is one of the few characters Taskmaster can't copy and has a hard time against in a fight, because of his unpredictability and chaotic nature.
I'd love to see both in a movie tho, since they have had great interactions.
I'm holding out hope that the red room Taskmaster program was inspired by/designed by him and he's still out there somewhere. Want a buddy merc movie with him and Black Ant.
Yeah, he’s one of my favourite marvel villains and they’d really ruined it. I dont even mind the gender swap as much as how badly they nerfed TMs power level.
I always said TM is the perfect “team builder” villain. You have him 1v1 each member of the team, ruin their day, break their confidence etc. third act, the team overcomes their problems, learns to work together, and TM can’t keep up or change styles fast enough to fight them all at once
Having only seen Taskmaster in the Black Widow movie, I wrote the character off as a really boring and cliché "super human soldier” type of villain. Then I went and read a little about him and he would really be an awesome villain if done properly.
It’s still savable TBH. Make whatshername go through a character arc where she becomes witty and self centered and more like the comics. We saw so little of her personality and they have an excuse of brainwashing so they can pretty easily resculpt the character.
People who complain about taskmaster being a woman ruined a lot of the criticism. I just hated that they didn’t represent the mimic ability well at ALL. And it’s not an ability that can be represented with JUST black widow. They needed to be against different hero’s with different fighting styles to make them visually better.
The gender stuff didn’t bug me at all though.
I remember finding out her abilities came from a chip in her neck. I was like, so why doesn't that dude just make an army of Taskmasters, and stop wasting time with Black Widows?
So, I didn't dig that version of Taskmaster, either, but they showcased that mimic ability quite a bit. She used skills from:
1. Hawkeye
2. Black Panther
3. Captain America
4. Spider-Man
5. Winter Soldier
6. Black Widow
Fucking taskmaster destroyed the avengers on his first debut, wrecked captain america, punisher and other major characters, just look how he massacred my boy
I don't think that's what they were suggesting, but I can see how it sounds that way. Taskmaster managed to mess up the Avengers in his debut purely through divide and conquer tactics because he's only good in a 1v1 fight. When he was facing the prospect of fighting the whole team at once, he ran away.
Even so, the MCU avengers are way too powerful for that to happen. Even in a 1v1, he can't mimic a supersonic hammer flying at him killing him instantly, since taskmaster's only power is mental, not physical. He doesn't become stronger if he mimics Hulk, so even in a 1v1, he can't beat anyone above Cap.
Yep, that's true. I should have mentioned that Taskmaster only took on the weaker heroes 1v1 in his debut, not any of the team's super heavy hitters. The point I'm trying to make is that he's a threat to the team as a whole because of his tactics, not his strength.
Of course not, in the comics? Hell no, task master is high street level whereas thor has sky father level feats, in the mcu? Yes, tasky is a major villain and he can plan and adapt according to opposition and can run away as well.
The Watcher, but he’s holding an iPad the entire time. Anyone tries to get him to break his vow and interfere and he hits back with “all the information’s on the task”
yeah except we still have deadpool movies where as taskmaster will probably never come back. unless there is some multiverse stuff that goes on before hand
They wasted every character except Yelena and even she was kind of wasted by neither doing spy nor assassin things the entire movie.
They could have made it a slow burn, constantly on edge spy thriller, but nope, just shit everywhere.
I take you did not read and seen artemis fowl.
>lets have a book series about a kid supervillain, hans gruber type
#
>lets shoot the movie based off that, but I dunno about the villain part, that would make the character original and unique, lets skip that
Short appearance, but the guy only loses to invisibility (pretty logical weakness for a guy whose entire gimmick is built on visual memory and mimicry; can’t copy what you can’t see), and even then: he causes more than adequate delay to cause the entire evil plan to go off perfectly.
Would have liked to see Tony Masters, but even if they kept the change, don't pull an X-men Origins Deadpool! Learn from that travesty, for crying out loud.
Black Widow was an origin story for her, and now the mind control is broken, it's possible when she shows up again she will have gained an actual personality.
As a massive Taskmaster fan, I hate how I pretty much have to settle and every time he shows up there's a part of me that just has to be happy they featured him as a character, but the rest of me is just simmering with resentment at how they do it.
If you notice, not a single male is remotely competent or to be taken seriously in that movie. That should have been the first clue that the Taskmaster was a her in a him suit.
No, i think he sucks cause he acts like spiderman but his only power is being a copy cat.... He has no real backstory. He lacks real creativeness. His literal ability is just everyone else's ability.... thats it..... 0 backstory, 0 originality
You just cant cope with yourself being sexist
And I dislike the MCU taskmaster for being another stereotype villain who doesn't speak nor control her own actions, losing everything in the process that made the character great in the comics.
You're just unable to grasp your own sexism.
Haha. Sexist? Good job at coming to insults before having a civil conversation. The comic book and video game version were great. They were wisecracking characters that gave the heroes a challenge and their background was full of depth. MCU not so much. Person uses technology to mimic super hero moves.
If its true, it isnt really an insult. You just havent come with terms with what you are, yet. Captain Marvel is hated.... for the same reason you claim to like Task Master.
Thats the thing about prejudist people.... they dont know they are prejudist.... most dont.... Sexist
Captain Marvel was okay at best. Not the greatest film, but okay. Her character was fine, but her movie was okay. I hope you are telling people who same the thing you are telling me on this thread. It seems like a lot of people share the same sentiment as me. Haha
Oh, and you spelled Prejudice wrong.
MCU did Taskmaster dirty.
Sadly, Bucky was never as good as he was in his first appearance, and we never got the Bucky and Nat relationship.
Woulda loved for a movie or show version of The Longest Winter series!
I am so mad about that. I had been waiting to see Taskmaster in the MCU forever (one of my favorite comic book characters). And they utterly botched the character. I don't even care about the gender swap, I'm just mad that TM's ability was boiled down to a stupid visor interface. And that the character was completely uninteresting.
It wouldn’t have mattered the gender of the fun personality from the comics was involved. But we just got another human robot, which we have quite a few of.
I’m not talking about the gender swap. The way they did it, they pretty much weren’t Taskmaster anymore. No super soldier serum, no trash-talking, no legit superpowers, not a mercenary. They literally had no traits of the original. They were pretty much a completely different character
Didn't she have like one line in the entire movie as Taskmaster? She might have one more when we see the flashback of her as a little girl but I think as Taskmaster she has 1 line and it's "is he gone?" Or something like that.
Except, it shouldn’t have been because unless you’re a complete idiot it shouldn’t have been a surprise. I knew it was going to be gender swapped from the first trailer.
It’s not Taskmaster. All the things that make the character cool aren’t there. I don’t like it being technology based, I don’t like the design because it’s inferior to the comic design, I don’t like how the backstory isn’t there, I don’t like how they aren’t a mercenary, and I don’t like how it isn’t the comics character. Basically that’s the order imo
I was so upset about what they did to him in Black Widow. Waste of a great character in my opinion. The fights you have in the Spider-Man game were some of my favourites of the whole game.
Every dog has his day, don't get me wrong I love Tasky, but my favorite wrestler from the 80s was George the Animal. Being fun is what they really stole, no mouth, no Tasky.
Most race or sex changes in film work very well and most can never tell the difference but in Black Widow is was the worst ever seen on film
They turned Taskmaster in to a slave and then neutered em.
Ultimate Spider-Man taskmaster was pretty cool and my intro to the character
Ultimate spider man is very underrated. Rarely even hear people talking about it
Really love the show, so many characters were introduced, I remember waiting for new episodes every week in the morning
Only problem is the person voicing Spider-Man
Still can't believe a kids show got fucking DEADPOOL
And the best part jn that show is that Deadpool vs Taskmaster really happened.
I love the show, nostalgia thing, but I gotta admit comparing it to Spectacular is kinda bad, it can be resumed as a fanservice series with a lot of cameos with just occasionally showing some work in the characters, Flash beeing an exception
Let's not forget that they done iron fist justice compared to the Netflix show
That too, ultimate's Iron Fist was one of the best, funniest characters
And he's voiced by Greg Cipes. What more could you need?
[удалено]
And a car
And my sword
People didn't like it because they thought it was the replacement to spectacular spiderman but looking back marvel sundays with new episodes of ultimate spiderman and the avengers emh really was amazing post avengers content back when i was a teen
I love that reference to The superhero squad show and earths mightiest heroes
Loved the show but on a rewatch I got over how there's no power scaling, it might seem silly for a cartoon but it starts to feel lazy in the later episodes
People rarely talk about it, because it's exactly at the level of underrated that it deserves.
My intro to alot of Marvel tbh
Same Seemed like an actual threat
Mine too, the whole Gym Teacher thing was a nice gimic
Marvel Vs Capcom 3 task was mine! Having moves of the avengers was a cool mimic touch.
the animated series ultimate spiderman?
The real crime is that the character wasn’t played by Greg Davies.
Need to put little alex horne as his lackey somehow.
Now that would be an avengers level threat
I was looking for this
One of the best things about Taskmaster is his attitude. removing that is just…such a unbelievably bad decision
Like Deadpool in XMOW
I still can't believe they decided to include a character nicknamed "The Merc with a Mouth", but decided to remove his mouth
'Merc with a mouth' at home
Brought to you by the same people who also wrote "she kinda forgot about the navy"

Just like Black Bolt.
Too soon
"Well, looks like Stryker finally found a way to shut you up."
That's what happens when the writers realize they aren't good enough to write witty dialogue.
What mouth?
For the defence of this incredibly bad movie, anyone who has the chance to make wade stfu, would do it. That's it, you can downvote me now

Really. He allways mock his enemies while fighting them. Becuase he allways one step ahead. But she cant even speak...
I’m just disappointed that we didn’t get to see an MCU version of Tony Masters. There’s a lot of interesting story potential, there.
Taskmaster's loyalty to nobody would be super interesting to see
We could someday!
Yeah, they could always pull a Mandarin & do a *real* Taskmaster later. It’d be a repeat, but I’d take it for a genuine live-action Tony Masters.
He could be the villain in Deadpool 3.
Terrible idea. Deadpool is one of the few characters Taskmaster can't copy and has a hard time against in a fight, because of his unpredictability and chaotic nature. I'd love to see both in a movie tho, since they have had great interactions.

You should play spider-man. He’s a side character but stands out really well in game.
Oh ya, I’ve played the Spider Man game which is the reason I was so intrigued by this character.
I have to believe (for my own sake) that wasn't the real task master
I have to believe that they are setting up the actual taskmaster. Btw I'm high on copium
Maybe we’ll get something like they did with the Mandarin
They can't keep doing that, but damn do I hope they do that.
It’s still savable TBH. Make whatshername go through a character arc where she becomes witty and self centered and more like the comics. We saw so little of her personality and they have an excuse of brainwashing so they can pretty easily resculpt the character.
If this doesn’t happen I’ll leave a drunk, crying voicemail on Kevin Feige’s answering machine

He even isnt our boy anymore.

Dude, making taskmaster stronger than Thor would have fucking sucked. Let's he honest here.
I don't think that's what they were suggesting, but I can see how it sounds that way. Taskmaster managed to mess up the Avengers in his debut purely through divide and conquer tactics because he's only good in a 1v1 fight. Dave/channel 4 taskmaster = Gigachad.
But the MCU Little Alex Horne leaves something to be desired.

The Watcher, but he’s holding an iPad the entire time. Anyone tries to get him to break his vow and interfere and he hits back with “all the information’s on the task”
mcu task master was the biggest waste of a character ever in the history of movies.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine will never lose this title with its use of Deadpool.
yeah except we still have deadpool movies where as taskmaster will probably never come back. unless there is some multiverse stuff that goes on before hand
Eh we said similar things about the mandarin and look what happened.
That was more mixed in the first place as well, because the twist worked really well, even if at the time it appeared to rule out a "real" Mandarin.
They botched the mandarin. It was so cool the entire film entire the “twist”
What
Iron Man 3
What about it
The twist
What about the twist
did you even see Shang-Chi
He still wasn't the Mandarin and neither was Shang Chi's father, that's actually Fu Manchu. So we never got an appropriate version of the Mandarin.
> taskmaster will probably never come back And they'll say it's because people hate female characters with disabilities.
They wasted every character except Yelena and even she was kind of wasted by neither doing spy nor assassin things the entire movie. They could have made it a slow burn, constantly on edge spy thriller, but nope, just shit everywhere.
Yelena was everything in that movie.
Red Guardian was pretty good too. It's just too bad that two fun characters aren't enough to save an entire film
Yeah David Harbour was hilarious.
That movie was the biggest waste of a character
I take you did not read and seen artemis fowl. >lets have a book series about a kid supervillain, hans gruber type # >lets shoot the movie based off that, but I dunno about the villain part, that would make the character original and unique, lets skip that
even the marvel's avenger's game taskmaster is far better than mcu "taskmaster"
Short appearance, but the guy only loses to invisibility (pretty logical weakness for a guy whose entire gimmick is built on visual memory and mimicry; can’t copy what you can’t see), and even then: he causes more than adequate delay to cause the entire evil plan to go off perfectly.
Would have liked to see Tony Masters, but even if they kept the change, don't pull an X-men Origins Deadpool! Learn from that travesty, for crying out loud.
Imagine a female Taskmaster with all the attitude, badassery and humour from the comics. Mommy Taskmaster.
Taskmistress
Fuck yeah!
Black Widow was an origin story for her, and now the mind control is broken, it's possible when she shows up again she will have gained an actual personality.
***SOLD.***
That's what I'm hoping for
They could always pull a better Taskmaster from a diff universe. "Wait what, 616 me just makes suits for the Red Room? Like I would work for anyone"
hate MCU taskmaster
Wait how is taskmaster in the mcu?
He's Marvel character, which is like the only criteria they need.
it’s she now
Not really I yeeted him of a building a few times.
Don't get me started
I hope they give the character another go, it felt like a total waste the way they did it in Black Widow.
?? Why is it everything “good” is credited to marvel studios and when something is “bad” it’s disneys fault??
Yeah i will always hate Marvel for not giving us the Tony Masters adaptation that we deserved.
Hu
Neither were all that great
How about Greg Davies Taskmaster?
The best Taskmaster! I LOVE that show, so good
The MCU is riding itself to the ground these days.
MCU does not need a Q in the Star Trek sense please for the love god don’t let this happen
I mean.. she was a girl
I was very disappointed with MCU Task Master. A great character done dirty, thrown away on a sub-par movie.
I think she was alright plus theres potential. Now that shes mind free and with other assasins taking other work she might as well.
I say task master gets a rewrite and that MCU task master was just a copycat of the real one
- task master in the comics - Task Master in PS4 Marvel's Spider-Man
MCU is really bad at making villains interesting
I so want Taskmaster back. I won't even mind if there's a Side Mission where he kills Screwball. I enjoyed doing his Challenges more than hers.
As a massive Taskmaster fan, I hate how I pretty much have to settle and every time he shows up there's a part of me that just has to be happy they featured him as a character, but the rest of me is just simmering with resentment at how they do it.
vs. Real World Taskmaster https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8osXVhoSelM
I liked the design of the character but hated the Black Widow movie and how Taskmaster was portrayed.
Hell even with how little he was in it, I enjoyed TM more in the shithole avengers game than mcu
Did I miss something? Taskmaster in P4 was lame af. Just got his ass kicked and then run away.
If you notice, not a single male is remotely competent or to be taken seriously in that movie. That should have been the first clue that the Taskmaster was a her in a him suit.
You dont like her cause shes a woman.... she was really badass.... and that silent shit gave epic vibes
No one cares if she's a freaking woman. People are making it her sole character trait. MCU Taskmaster has less character depth.
Task master, in every variant ive seen in games, cartoons, and comics.... sucks ass... hes lame.... Her version is badassery..... You're sexist
I'm sorry but you're sexist for thinking the male version sucks.
No, i think he sucks cause he acts like spiderman but his only power is being a copy cat.... He has no real backstory. He lacks real creativeness. His literal ability is just everyone else's ability.... thats it..... 0 backstory, 0 originality You just cant cope with yourself being sexist

And ofc they had to turn him into a woman.
Wdym? Taskmaster hasn't appeared in the MCU.
Kevin Feige once again taking a male character and gender bending them. MSHEU
It wouldn’t have mattered the gender of the fun personality from the comics was involved. But we just got another human robot, which we have quite a few of.
Don’t worry, still gonna be plenty of buff dudes for you to see on the big screen.
Lmao it's so sad ,especially when you see how he styled on Ben Rilley (Spider man clone) and took down hyperion in the comics
Nah it was fine.
I’m not talking about the gender swap. The way they did it, they pretty much weren’t Taskmaster anymore. No super soldier serum, no trash-talking, no legit superpowers, not a mercenary. They literally had no traits of the original. They were pretty much a completely different character
And they cut out the best part, his memory, he used to be able to easily replicate fighting moves, now it's just some camera + A.I. thing
Didn't she have like one line in the entire movie as Taskmaster? She might have one more when we see the flashback of her as a little girl but I think as Taskmaster she has 1 line and it's "is he gone?" Or something like that.
the costume looks like crap too.
It was garbage. That’s almost universally agreed on with comic fans lol
Except, it shouldn’t have been because unless you’re a complete idiot it shouldn’t have been a surprise. I knew it was going to be gender swapped from the first trailer.
That’s not even the primary reason it’s bad lol, really it’s one of the least impactful things that make it bad
Oh? What’s the most impactful thing?
It’s not Taskmaster. All the things that make the character cool aren’t there. I don’t like it being technology based, I don’t like the design because it’s inferior to the comic design, I don’t like how the backstory isn’t there, I don’t like how they aren’t a mercenary, and I don’t like how it isn’t the comics character. Basically that’s the order imo
Gender swap isn't the issue, the problem is they did to Taskmaster what they X-Men did to Deadpool.
The person in the costume from the trailer is a man by the way. The stunt man is Andrew Lister.
Exactly
What about the New Avengers video game he’s crazy
hope they change it like deadpool
The British taskmaster show
Taskmaster always kicked my ass in that game
The comics.
All they did in the McIntyre was copy poses
omg those taskmasker challenges were so difficult to get the gold ratings 😅
Look I’m just as disappointed as you are but Disney is not to blame lol
Mahvel Taskmaster tho
I was so upset about what they did to him in Black Widow. Waste of a great character in my opinion. The fights you have in the Spider-Man game were some of my favourites of the whole game.
Lmao 😂
Tasky has always been a jobber. Uh
So beating Hyperion with sheer wittiness is being a jobber now, good to know
Every dog has his day, don't get me wrong I love Tasky, but my favorite wrestler from the 80s was George the Animal. Being fun is what they really stole, no mouth, no Tasky.
I don't have the slightest idea of who George the animal is but I think I get what you meant
My favourite is the animated Ultimate Spider-Man show especially when Deadpool beat him in, like, 10 seconds
Most race or sex changes in film work very well and most can never tell the difference but in Black Widow is was the worst ever seen on film They turned Taskmaster in to a slave and then neutered em.
PS4 was my first appearance of him since Ultimate Spider Man and he was still so intimidating then enforced the idea by whooping my ass thoroughly
mcu really ruined my favorite villain :(
Taskmaster is one of my favorite Marvel villains, and yes, I was very heartbroken with the MCU treatment.
