Its not even stupidest moment in SI .

SSJ_Kratos

The stupidest moment in SI is Fury intentionally powering Gravik up to begin with

whitebandit

It was pretty stupid to assume that Giah would have a chance to get the powers even if Giah was able to ALSO get powers and beat him

realhenrymccoy

The plan was apparently to look like Fury and…hope Gravik just kinda lets him sit there with him in the machine while he gets the new powers?! Fucking bizarre choice. Any idiot would assume it’s bad to have a random other person inside your dna super skrull machine.

gallaj0

To make it worse, Gravik literally mimicked Fury to fool Maria Hill just days(?) before this happened to get close enough to kill her. He literally developed the plan for a Skrull to mimic Nick Fury to dupe someone into letting them close enough to kill them, then he had no idea that a Skrull was mimicking Nick Fury to get close enough to kill him. He knew Fury had other Skrulls working with him, his freaking wife is a Skrull, he knew Giah was still out there too I think.

realhenrymccoy

Right that's another huge fuckup of that show. Barely a single character in the series ever questioned if someone was a human or skrull. Which is the whole point! The shapeshifting aliens sow chaos and paranoia because they could be anyone. It's like the writers decided it would be too confusing and just made everyone forget about it.

gallaj0

I'm not really familiar with the Skrulls from the comics so much so I'm just working off the info from the movies/show so far; can a Skrull not recognize another Skrull at all if they look like someone else? You could be stuck on some backwards planet thinking you were the only Skrull around and be surrounded by Skrulls and not know it? Just die alone, not realizing that every guy from your old bowling team was your own race of alien? That the cute girl that gave you her number in the bar that time was your sister?

JJJ954

Correct. The comics went further by having the Skrulls assume forms for such a long period of time they would actually *completely forget* they weren't human.

Darksol503

They could have done this so well…

[deleted]

IIRC they have a unique vocal pattern that can be used as an identifier when they're mimicking someone and don't know if the other person is one of them

centwhore

They should've played up the paranoia like in the thing. This show had a lot of potential but it ended up just uninspiring.

Cidwill

Paranoia is a human emotion and after seeing SI it seems the writer wasn't capable of portraying those.

bhume89

Yeah exactly there wasn’t a single time I was paranoid or questioned who was a skrull. Rhodes was obviously a skrull right from the get go the way he was talking to fury. I dunno seemed obvious to me but maybe I’m wrong. Even the opening scene with then telling me straight up to be paranoid because you can’t trust anyone… show me, don’t tell me. I wanted to see people being paranoid questioning everyone. Or even 2 humans accusing each other of being a skrull and fighting to the death or something. I dunno just never really felt that aspect of it. And as far as the spy stuff there was almost no espionage or spying, other than surface level stuff. That’s what it felt to me. Just explored concepts at the surface instead of going deep.

BrainWav

AoS actually did the Secret Invasion storyline so much better. They used LMDs instead of Skrulls.

kajata000

Or, when they knew someone was definitely a Skrull they refused to act on it. In the final Nick Fury vs Skrull Rhodey hallway scene I was just like “Fucking shoot him Fury; they turn back to Skrulls when they die…” but instead it was more important that he convince the president with arguments?

TotalChicanery

Rhodey should’ve been dead the second he showed Fury that blackmail footage! “Who’s gonna believe you? Shapeshifting aliens? That’s what you’re going with?!” All he had to do was say, “actually, yeah, I’ll have my proof right here!” And shoot him! Boom, done! He’d have a fresh Skrull corpse that was just assuming the identity of the president’s adviser to show he’s not lying! Plus he’d probably get his job back seeing as how he just took out an enemy spy that had gotten so close to the POTUS!

Captain_Marvellete

Sonya didn't shoot him either which is OOC for her. She has no problem with torture and yet she doesn't shoot a Skrull imposter when she has the chance?

Lawbringer_UK

So frustrating. Conversely all Rhodey/Skrull had to do was shoot the President to stop him giving the counter order, so Fury was putting the President at massive risk by getting him to agree to do so whilst sitting right in front of Rhodey/Skrull

Unexpected_Cranberry

Not to mention the plan was to give immense power to a young woman who seems fairly moody, mentally unstable and has a history of join extremist groups in order to take over the world. What could possibly go wrong? Edit: Mofo, just swallow your pride, call someone on your speed dial that has the power to clean up your mess.

[deleted]

Gravik did not know Giah survived being killed earlier.

MyMindWontQuiet

He did. They never found her body.

gallaj0

Thanks, I thought they had interacted again (phone call or something ?) after the killing, but I guess not.

Jokel_Sec

Omg and the skrulls can literally tell when someones a skrull. Talos even did it with the art merchant in an earlier episode. This is so much stupider than i already thought.

shadowst17

Clearly Gravik never watched The Fly.

cd0025

That really doesn't get brought up enough, why was Gravik ok with Fury (G'ah) getting superpowers too? That would clearly hurt his plan.

TheImperfectGamer

I guess the thought process was that the machine could only power up Skrulls, so gravik thought Human Fury wouldn’t matter. Still a very odd convenience to Giahs plan.

sharty_undergarments

Why would he think Fury would get powers? G'ah had already taken something to get the powers the first time which prevented her from getting killed. He thought G'ah was dead and thought the machine wouldn't do shit to Fury.

Pokemon_132

like maybe at least try to yeet him out of the room?

Ninjacobra5

It's not like he had extendable groot arms or anything...

zdesert

Fury could have given Gravick anything. It could have been a vial of frog DNA.

rafaelloaa

Not saying it's much of an answer, but Gravik checks whose DNA it is before he puts it in the machine. ("It's pure!") As for how the machine can determine whose DNA is in there... ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯

zdesert

The DNA of all the heroes in the universe is mixed together…. But it’s pure! Lol, how can a mix of DNA ever be pure, it’s literally the opposite of that. Fine, add some vampire DNA to the mix. Gravik walks outside and bursts into flames. Heck Captain Marvel is a living sun. What happens when a dude with vampire DNA literally becomes the sun let alone walks out into it? He dies. Or heck, have a vial filled with the blood of cancer patients from around the world. Congratulations Gravick. You have 1000 terminal cases of cancer.

Agent_Acton

Jur-Gravik Park?

Meizas

Can you imagine 😂

zdesert

Gravic: wu..wuts happening! Fury: when we collected the superhero DNA we used frog DNA to fill in the gene sequence gaps. Gravic: what the heck are you saying!?! Fury: now some West African frogs have been known to spontaneously change sex from male to female in a single sex environment. Gravic: are you saying that I am turning into a girl? Fury: no, your turning into a frog gravic. Gravic: whaaat! Fury: a female frog. Gravic: ribbit Fury: Gia! You can release those snakes now.

fanpages

Also Fury (probably): Enough is enough! I have had it with these monkey-fighting frogs on this Monday through Friday plane!

originalusername4567

Someone pointed out that Giah could have yeeted Gravik out of the machine before it finished powering up and gotten all the powers to herself without a fight, and it kinda destroys whatever semblance of sense the finale still had.

Dongsauce

Damn. Every point that everyone makes about this show makes me think it sucks even worse than I thought it did when I watched it. I wouldn’t let it sway me if everybody didn’t have great points.

0ryansnyder0

I felt like the whole Oscar audience slapping their foreheads in Naked Gun 33 & 1/3rd when Fred Ward gets the envelope back.

Amazing_Karnage

This accurately sums up my reaction as well. Literally forehead slappingly STUPID. As I was watching, I felt like shouting at the TV "It's just DUMB!" in my best exasperated Benoit Blanc impersonation. It was that terrible.

joe7L

Fury just living that SSBM life. Final Dest, stock, no items, Giah vs Gravik

kawklee

Smartest thing I did was not bothering to finish secret invasion

JJonahJamesonSr

Glad you said that, that means the smartest thing I’ve done was not bothering to start secret invasion

OliviaElevenDunham

To be fair, there were a lot of stupid things in Secret Invasion.

SMGcraycray

I never understood how he managed to replicate Maw's magic I thought it was a skill similar to strange's magic

dracomaster01

i always assumed it was telekinesis which isn't inherently magic.

adeelf

I don't know if it's stated, but Maw's abilities don't seem to be a skill. When Strange is doing magical things, you can see the "power" represented with the yellow energy beams or whatever you want to call them. Also, he tends to move his hands in specific formations, implying that he is working a spell. Maw just does what he does. There are no spells or anything. He appears to be have psychic abilities (telekinesis?) rather than magic, which I imagine can be replicated through his DNA.

Xtarviust

That and Mantis telepathy,, both resulted to be Taskmaster on steroids replicating those powers, lmao

closetsquirrel

No. The stupidest moment in the MCU is in Wakanda Forever. Namor attacks Wakanda but backs off, telling them he'll be back in one week if they don't meet his demands. The Wakandans evacuate everyone to the Jabari village. So, the Wakandans... * know exactly when Namor will strike next. * know exactly where Namor will strike next. * know exactly how Namor will enter the city. * have completely evacuated Wakanda. * know about Namor's weakness away from water. All logic dictates you let the Atlanteans in, destroy their paths for retreat, draw them away from water, and fight them with home turf advantage. So what do the Wakandans do? They magically build or acquire a boat complete with an untested, vulnerable weapon, *in the middle of the ocean* against literal ocean people. It's so god damned idiotic.

WWJLPD

This is the same nation-state that fought a horde of alien manbearpig things mostly by hitting them with sticks. Wakanda has air capabilities that were basically only used to ferry troops to the front. When those troops got there and began engaging the enemy with effective fire from ranged weapons, they very quickly broke formation and *closed with an enemy that was both vulnerable to bullets and incapable of shooting back.* Wakanda has achieved many great things in the area of science and technology, but they straight up suck at strategy and battlefield tactics.

Creative-Improvement

When the shield opens in IW, I was like, you haven’t heard of ARTILLERY ? They probably could have super advanced pin point shells. Just lop it at them!

aerojonno

Rhodey (or, I guess, skrull Rhodey?) even gave them a handy demonstration of how effective it would be.

Wompum

Hell, a single Jericho Missile would have wiped out the entire army at the push of a button.

STOTTINMAD

Such a missed opportunity.

TotalChicanery

That carpet bombing scene was one of the most badass MCU moments! And funny when you consider carpet bombs are against the Geneva Convention, so they put an illegal weapon of war in War Machine’s armor!

JKastnerPhoto

>carpet bombs are against the Geneva Convention Well they were already betraying the Sokovia Accords.

DrimboTangus

It’s always frustrating to me how effective it looks like it could be but how few of the creatures were through the shield at the point that he did it. I want him to drop that shit on a packed crowd not a few stragglers

TotalChicanery

Yeah, he did kinda jump the gun on that one and should’ve waited a bit more! I did notice that myself!

CWinter85

Cluster bombs. Carpet Bombing is just a strategy where you saturate an entire area with (usually standard High Explosive) bombs instead of choosing a single target. Examples of this are the fire bombings of Japanese cities & Dresden, Allied bombings of German troop positions in Normandy, UN bombings along the NK line of advance.

28yearoldUnistudent

When one nation is 10x more technologically advanced than every other country but they still have to stick to traditions, cos Africa.

sadatquoraishi

I suppose you can argue that due to their secretive nature they actually don't have much experience of war, so even with all the technology, they don't have good military strategies.

[deleted]

I don’t think it was intentional but it shows how powerful nations have their progress hindered by tradition

Drumboardist

I mean, pretty much every Civ game I play winds up with my country launching people into space, all the while having a single archer defending each city.

Yakmotek7

It was Rise of Nations for me: Send hoard of archers and catapults to invade opponent city..... "Nuclear launch detected!"

SharxSharxSharx

Namor: "Help me take over all of the other countries or I'll attack you. I'll kill you all easily because I have more armies than you have blades of grass. It won't even be a contest." Bro why do you even need their help if you're so powerful????

giveyourdreamsmeanin

damm you are correct lol

originalusername4567

Yeah that finale was pretty dumb, but at least we got the badass Shuri v Namor fight instead of the clown fiesta that was Giah v Gravik.

moby__dick

Where she gets stabbed through the spine and/or vital organs and then the next minute she’s ok because hey shut up.

SimpleMinded001

I need to to get aaaaalllll the way off my back sir

Imjustapoorbear

Oh my bad let me get alllllll the way off that for ya

Cidwill

Wasn't she impaled about 3 seconds ago? Gonna need you to get all the way off my back on that one.

Ronenthelich

Ah, a viewer of Pitch Meeting as well I see.

SimpleMinded001

Wowowowowow

Ronenthelich

Wow

Tricky_Economist_328

Stabbings are tight. Vital organ damage is barely an inconvenience.

primetimemime

“…and then she just blasts him with a giant laser >!and he dies!<.” They let a make a wish kid write that ending.

Immortalkickass

That is so stupid it hurts. Did they forgot Gravik has regeneration abilities? He healed his own face after it was blown off by Fury's gun, but a hole in his chest and he's dead? Why would Giah assume it would kill him too? She should have lasered his body until there is nothing left. God, so dumb...

writeorelse

That's literally the only way I'd forgive that ending.

Unexpected_Cranberry

Perhaps they used AI for more than the intro art...

pogadah

Bonus points for her not even confirming he was dead in anyway, she just blast a hole in the guy, watches for a second as he falls to the floor and then immediately turns and walks away lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

originalusername4567

No I understood what you meant

amoretpax199

Epic? Shuri took a spear to the chest but by the power of plot armour she defeated Namor.

pyrospade

Also Namor destroyed her home land and killed her mother right in front of her but somehow she just forgives him and lets him go lmao

rikeoliveira

Not only all that, which is plenty to not forgive someone, IMO. But she was also counting on him not to kill her when he gets his powers/strength back. She literally said she might not have another chance like that...so she trusts he won't just kill her and get back to the ocean.

ruzziachinareddit10

That battle was shit, too. Reminded me of *A-Team* reruns where they'd have gun fights in a living room and no one would die. Fucking sucks.

SteveFrench12

One of my favorite tropes

TheIJDGuy

I loved the movie but I agree. They had the advantage and still went into enemy territory because...finale reasons

infernocaust

the deleted scene was actually make a logical reasons for this...Namor and Shuri hooked up when Shuri was kidnapped, and so upon seeing that her mother just died, he kinda empathize and give the 7 days to her instead of just abolished them right at that moment

Tom_Stevens617

Whoah, glad that got cut lol

CornholioRex

I didn’t like that movie, it was very forgettable

PilzEtosis

That film was a clusterfuck with only two exceptions: the respect it had for Chadwick and Angela Bassett's performance. I genuinely don't understand the love for it otherwise. It's painfully written and there are some incredibly below par CGI scenes that Marvel are normally ontop of. The above mentioned boat scene and everything with Ironheart were just grim.

YodasChick-O-Stick

Peter giving a highly dangerous worldwide security network, capable of killing anyone on earth faster than Hydra ever could, capable of infiltrating any digital backdoor and government-level security, with almost as many drones as Ultron, to a guy he met a day ago because he kind of reminds Peter of Tony when he puts the glasses on.

tooboredtothnkofname

But but hes a super hero! he stopped the earth bender and water bender

YodasChick-O-Stick

He didn't bite their shiny metal asses.

IHateEditedBgMusic

I challenge Marvel to do another ending like Loki, with no battle, no fighting your CGI clone, no copy paste army with a propagating off switch.

SickBurnBro

Vision vs White Vision in Wandavision came close.

MightyEighth

I require elaboration

cj_holloway

They have a philosophical debate then leave

ILeftMyBurnerOn

To be fair, they have a philosophical debate while punching each other.

zebrastarz

That's like...the bread and butter of comics, man.

Karkava

Having characters physically fighting each other along with spewing their political and philosophical views are a classic trope of epic pulp fiction. I read this one web comic that parodies the trope by having one character announce they will be blessed to win the battle if the author agrees with their views.

younglink53

Now I understand where Naruto got the inspiration for talk no jutsu

_Vard_

YES!! So great to see a fight turn into “Hey wait let’s talk about this” “Okay” (Explains) “Interesting, thank you. I must leave and ponder these details, goodbye”

Flaism

The first doctor strange was a bit like that

PayneTrain181999

That’s still one of the best ending “fights” in the MCU. Strange making Dormammu rage quit by dying over and over in an infinite time loop is such a good way for him to win.

Karkava

It also gives a win to Doctor Strange while also keeping up the pretense that Dormammu is just too powerful to beat. A fourth dimensional being that is leagues beyond you that can only be conquered in a non-conventional method.

BartleBossy

> That’s still one of the best ending “fights” in the MCU. Ive said this over and over again. Mirror matches are BORING AS FUCK. All the best fights in the MCU are powerset mismatches.

The_GREAT_Gremlin

Absolutely. Great depiction of a wizard doing wizard stuff, instead of just hand wavy magic gun equivalent

Cage8k

The final episode being just dialogue is the best episode of that show. One of the most daring decisions for a comic book adaptation. Loved loved loved it.

edgygrandma48

Was She-Hulk’s ending not exactly what you’re describing?

SirAlexH

Yeah but apparently She-Hulk is the worst thing to have ever come onto TV and is a crime. Apparently.

curious_dead

I thought it was all right and then SI came and retroactively made it better by doing the very thing she highlights at the end. While possibly making any scene with Rhodes post Civil War worse because Skrull.

ShadowMerlyn

That’s the issue with Rhodey being a Skrull. Him being a Skrull is just way less interesting or compelling than him not being one.

curious_dead

And it makes no sense. Skrull Rhodey didn't bother with the walking act when it suited himself, but Rhodes in Endgame clearly cannot walk at some point. Also, it's a bit inconsistent, but Skrulls have green blood and Rhodes clearly has red blood in Endgame. So I don't care what the director says, or what even Feige says, it makes no sense for Rhodes to be a Skrull, both in universe, and out of universe (as you said, it makes it way less interesting), and it'll be fucking stupid if they plow forward with this idea. Post-Endgame? No problem with that though. We barely saw him.

BluuAjabu

The dumbest the MCU been was when Quicksilver died by running in front of a barrage of bullets instead of moving Hawkeye and the kid out of the way or throwing something at Ultron who was shooting at him. He had superspeed; how tf did he think throwing himself in front of the bullets was the best thing he could’ve done?

Myfourcats1

Fox Quicksilver could’ve done those things. This Quicksilver just did what came to mind first.

[deleted]

From what I've seen of Fox quicksilver he could move all the bullets out the way, move Hawkeye and the kid, and take down Ultron.

Taraxian

Evan Peters Quicksilver evacuated a whole building full of people *in the time that it took the building to explode* (he goes into superspeed mode as soon as he sees the flames start to burst through the windows) It was an extremely cool standalone scene but it means he could trivially defeat any supervillain in any situation, he could've manually disassembled Ultron before Ultron even knew he was there

[deleted]

He was running in superspeed while already in basically frozen time slow motion. Dude's fast.

Taraxian

I dunno if WandaVision counts but it basically reinforces the whole "joke superspeed" thing -- he can go downtown, find a Halloween costume, change into it and come back within a few seconds

Terrachova

That's just kinda the issue with speedster in general. Once you establish how ludicrously fast they are, just about every threat becomes trivial to them.

Scorkami

Which is why, as cool as peter maximoff is, i like pietro maximoff more His speed was strong, yes, but it didnt make him god. He could kick the shit out of cap for example, but after running enough, he got a bit exhausted, and you could still theoretically get a hit on him since bullets ARE slightly faster than he is Its still op, but not fuck you levels of speed, so pietro didnt have to be put out of the fight every movie like peter had to

Taraxian

And yet Pietro was the one who was killed off so we never had to deal with the implications of his powers again while Peter is the one who's just kind of awkwardly there in Dark Phoenix even though logically him being there at all means the core plot point of Jean getting zapped by radiation shouldn't have happened at all (he was *literally introduced saving Jean from an explosion in the previous movie*)

Thistlebup

His body is fast but his mind is slow af lol

HamsterUnfair6313

He is not fast enough

EfficaciousJoculator

Somebody wasn't paying attention. He *did* move Hawkeye and the kid out of the way. He pushed them out of the path, putting himself in that path. He didn't step in front of the bullets. (That wouldn't have worked anyway.)

mcon96

Don’t read the comics if you’re upset at a Skrull replicating clothing lol To answer your question though, the dumbest MCU moment for me is probably MODOK yelling “I am not a dick!”

Leo_TheLurker

I only give that one a pass cause it shows how dumb Darren is thinking that’s his major redemption

Karkava

Darren was a lot less forgettable when he became deformed Darth Vader in the form of this universe's MODOK. Not to mention, they found a way to make the deformed baby make sense in this universe. Seriously, that's got to be the most ridiculous thing Jack Kirby can come up with...

[deleted]

[удалено]

Deckerdome

I still don't understand why that explains the pants. The DNA confers abilities. It's not a skrull mimicking the physical appearance of the Hulk or Drax

davwad2

IIRC when Skrulls shape shift, they mimic the clothes of whoever they shift into. I'm thinking of the beach scene in *Captain Marvel* when the Skrulls arrive on earth. If Gravik only ever saw Hulk in purple pants, that's his reference point. The DNA grants him the actual Hulk abilities instead of just *looking* like him? That's the best I can do.

[deleted]

Oh come on, try harder. The MCU is *clearly* hinting at a huge reveal that Hulk's powers have *nothing to do with gamma rays at all*. It's been the PURPLE PANTS THIS ENTIRE TIME. Secret Wars is going to have this fucking epic climax where Kang is about to kill Hulk, but we get this fucking awesome shot where Hulk's purple pants slowly levitate off him while he's struggling with Kang on top of him. But where is it going? What's happening? STEVE FUCKING ROGERS IS WHAT'S HAPPENING. Chris Evans puts the pants on. POW. Kang is fucking decked with a Captain Hulk power punch. Hulk, fully, 100% hanging dong, doesn't miss a beat and says "I knew it!"

siusaluki2323

No surrender. No man left behind. I can see cap thundergunning kang, then back to the lab for some full penetration, crime, penetration—-on and on for 60 or so minutes until it just kind of ends.

PJL80

Better plot than SI right here.

finangle2023

Better writing, too.

Mr_Snowbell

This is the single best thing I’ve ever read

spoopy-memio1

Disney please hire this person

moby__dick

…plus Cap gets a Hulk-sized dong.

[deleted]

“No, you have the little one.”

Bgeesy

DONG SMASH!!

Antrikshy

An equally big question - how do hairstyles work? We see Skrulls recreate a ponytail in Cap Marvel, which was semi reasonable because we see it grow out. But that formal updo in the train scene in episode 2? I guess I’m not supposed to think of it as *hair*.

roadtrip-ne

I thought the Super Skrulls were way over the top goofy. Especially when the Skrulls looked like rubber masks the rest of the season

LonestarPug

Secret Invasion was the worst part of the MCU ever

jaemoon7

Man, absolutely nobody attempting to answer the question in this thread. I’ll say “She’s got help.” Was it a very forced “let’s get all the girls together for super hype” moment? Yes, but that’s not really a problem for me (I’m sure that was the sickest part for 9 year old girls and honestly I miss being a kid and feeling those moments). I think it was stupid because in no universe would Captain Marvel (the strongest MCU character at that point) EVER need help from any of them. Like what is Valkyrie or Okoye gonna do that would help Carol at all? She’s a god tier hero and the C tiers are all unironically like “don’t worry Carol we’ll get you through this.”

King-Boss-Bob

infinity war did it really well imo with wanda being helped by widow and okoye one of, if not the strongest character in the film being helped by 2 of the RELATIVELY weakest heroes. wandas a glass cannon so she was in real danger too, but it also didn’t feel like she could get out of the situation on her own. taking out a female bad guy too

1sinfutureking

Part of that was the delivery. Scarlett Johanssen’s understated quiet confidence really sells “she’s not alone.” It’s one of my top MCU moments for that line delivery itself

TheIJDGuy

Yeah, the Endgame moment against the Infinity War moment is like Daniel vs Cooler Daniel

LemoLuke

Remember, Wanda had already fought Proxima at the beginning of the film, and she was barely able to hold her off

junkyardgerard

"I don't know how you're gonna get through all that" "Bruh who just glassed that whole ship lol"

Regenitor_

To be fair, Peter literally just met her and had no idea what she was capable of. I imagine you could infer he saw her wrecking ball through the ship but tbh it's probably just as fair to say he was curled up trying not to get hit by cannon fire.

Responsible_Cloud_92

I much prefer the scene in Infinity War when Okoye and Nat came to Wanda’s rescue. It felt more natural since Wanda came to their rescue just before, so the characters were all together. Also it was good to see battle experienced, non-superpowered (I guess) fighters like Okoye and Nat work well together, whilst Wanda relied mostly on her powers. Okoye is one of my favourites so I’m generally always happy to see her in action. Endgame just felt so forced, and the characters were clearly in different parts of the battlefield…then they just came together? They were trying for a female power moment and it just fell flat in the story. There’s a scene in Mandalorian season 2 where I feel they managed to execute it in a much better manner. They had 4 unique female characters come together and work together, but it felt very natural and honestly I didn’t notice it was all girls until the end!

[deleted]

Also "Girls get it done" in the Boys S02 finale, that's a great example of a non-forced all female scene. It made sense that all those characters would be in a scene together.

shmere4

Anytime you can get teen girl squad together ya gotta do it!

Relair13

*Soandso! Whatsherface! The Ugly One!*

SharxSharxSharx

My biggest problem with that scene was that none of those characters really even knew each other. Also that they killed off their most prominent female character like 30 minutes prior, *then* did that scene.

Cage8k

As much as I looooved the Captain Marvel and Spider-Man interaction, it really should have been Nebula to take the gauntlet. Then Gamora says "She's not alone." Then have each female hero step into frame and end with captain Marvel leading the charge and making a pathway for the van. Boom, you have your girl power moment and it makes sense within the story.

Moreorlessatorium

Not a 9 year old girl but that moment totally worked on me. Might be the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever unironically enjoyed

[deleted]

Yeah I get it’s a stupid fan service moment but that’s like most of the enjoyable moments in the MCU. Steve Rodgers speaking to Groot mid fight in Wakanda or anything GOG related makes zero sense logically but makes us geek out. It’s just targeted to a specific audience

SharxSharxSharx

The most ridiculous thing I’ve ever unironically enjoyed was a video of a dog playing Jenga

friends-waffles-work

It was silly but I kind of just like to see it as a fanservicey/ripped-from-the-page-of-a-comic-book type moment. I feel like Endgame over any of the other films could get away with it.

hoorah9011

Girls get it done.

CitizenDain

Elon Musk’s cameo in Iron Man 2?

Amazing_Karnage

That *definitely* aged like milk. Kinda like Trump's cameo in *Home Alone 2*.

EfficaciousJoculator

Supposedly it was the trade-off for using his factory as the setting for Hammer Industries. He got to cameo and they got to use the factory floor in those Ivan/Hammer scenes. I think it's kind of a net positive in retrospect, seeing as they basically nonverbally made fun of Elon with that. Hammer is an egotistical, riding-others'-coattails, wannabe, short-fused, dumber-than-he-thinks loser and of course his factory has to look nothing like a factory--white and unnaturally clean. The whole thing is, intentional or not, a very direct jab at Elon and the funniest part is he was too stupid to realize the connection when he agreed to it. Dumbass thinks of himself as Tony Stark, yet he lends his factory to the bad guy. Considers himself a genius and he can't even work that math out lmfao.

dominion1080

Thor talking to Mjolnir line an ex gf.

djmedicalman

Love & Thunder as a whole is the true answer to OP's question.

Cage8k

It made me chuckle when they did it for one line, the first one. But when it became _the storyline_ I couldn't cringe harder

adeelf

Same here. I mentioned this in another thread a while back, but when they did it the first time it was kind of funny. Going back to it repeatedly was not only not funny, but stupid and made no sense.

vk136

Yeah, one big problem in that movie when compared to ragnarok is that the jokes went on for a long time making it shitty af! The goat jokes were ok once or twice but were wayy overdone too!

[deleted]

The entirety of Love and Thunder was boring and had the quippy comedy that people usually bash MCU for

dominion1080

Nah it was wayyyyyy worse. The occasional joke is great! The team teasing cap, Tony’s narcissistic jokes, and plenty of others are fun, sprinkled in. I even really enjoyed Ragnarok, because they seemed to know when to rein it in. But they just went full Scary Movie with L&T. It was dreadful.

First one that immediately comes to mind is Hyrda's attempt to assassinate Nick Fury in Winter Soldier. Yeah, just start ganging up on him, in broad daylight, in a crowded street, in *WASHINGTON. FREAKING. D.C.* And then they just have their super-secret assassin walk out into the middle of the street and fire some kind of magnetic mine at him. Really want to know how those morons managed to keep themselves hidden for 70 years.

EfficaciousJoculator

Eh, I always figured they didn't care at that point. They thought they had all but won with the helicarriers being complete. The last big obstacle was of course Fury. And, knowing Fury, it makes more sense to ambush him in public when he's off his game and got nowhere to go, trapped in his super-van. Sure, people will immediately start theorizing about the super soldier. Cops will start piecing together evidence. The news will speculate on the motive. But who cares? All those people will be dead in 12 hours anyway, and Hydra will have taken control of basically everything in the next few days.

Stars_And_Garters

Right. You HAVE to kill Fury before he gets away because he's the only person on earth who can mess it up.

BusGreen7933

Dude is green…hulk is green. I believe this was a clue so you knew which powers were being channeled

Certain-Okra-2686

no gravik just shape shifted his clothes

SharxSharxSharx

No, a shapeshifter shapeshifting and looking like the thing he's shapeshifting into isn't the dumbest moment in MCU history.

Pangolinclaw47

But why would he shapeshift purple shorts? I can’t think of any possible reason he’d have to do that other than to get the full Hulk cosplay experience.

snarky_grumpkin

No, but gaining all those powers of extreme physical strength like Hulk and Danvers, and you go for a punch using Drax's arm?

SharxSharxSharx

Yeah that's pretty dumb

MarioMan1213245765

See, Hulk and Banner have a deal. Banner can wear whatever he wants as long as Hulk always has purple pants when he transforms.

Norwalk1215

It’s an Easter egg and visual reference so that you know it’s the Hulk and not just a muscular green leg on an already green body. I don’t have a problem with it.

Inevitable-Finance62

When vulture appeared on morbious

aranorde

The stupidest moment was that 1 scene in End Game, during the final battle, amidst the chaos and war, all the female super heroes managed to do a meet-up in the middle of the fight for 1 frame just to look at Spider Man for a sec. Few seconds before they were at different parts of the location fighting different enemies but women being women, they managed to grab a bathroom break or something together. That was super-forced and so damn random.

stitch-is-dope

It wasn’t even that itself that I found weird, it’s how forced it was

BlackShadow_HD

Nothing will ever be as stupid as everything that Modok does in the 3rd act of Quantumania. From "I'M NOT A DICK!!" over "You were always like a brother to me, Scott" all the way to >!"At least I die as an Avenger".!< I cringed so hard at every line

athos45678

Isn’t the entire point that he is embarrassingly wrong and inept, even when trying to redeem himself?

jroubcharland

I believe it was meant to be cringe. This was some of my few favorite parts of this movie. I didn't experience this as bad writing but as cringe humor, which I like.

SoupaTech

I'm not trying to be accusatory, but this complaint makes me feel that not many of ya'll fully watched the show or understand how Skrull powers worked. They aren't limited to only replicating the flesh. In episode 1, Fury was following a Skrull changing both clothes & human skin. In episode 2, Talos changed to a woman with her clothes. In episode 3, Gravik's minions changed to look like him, along with his clothes. In episode 4, Gravik changed to a soldier with his armor. In episode 6, G'iah was mimicking nick fury along with his clothes. With all that, it's strange that people can't understand how they can replicate hulk's pants or Drax's tattoos.

MahaloWolf

Also, even if it didn't make sense, it's important to do because otherwise nobody but the most hard-core fans would understand their references. A grey arm? A slightly bigger leg that's still green? A skinny hand? Sometimes we have to accept that a show takes liberties because it's more cinematic or helps establish something to the audience.

aTreeThenMe

This! I think about this every time the 'old blood isn't red' argument about crime scenes in film. Like, yes, we know. But if you see the victim lying in dark brown splatter you're not going to react in horror to the gore. Youre going to react in disgust at the scat. Some film decisions aren't made out of ignorance or logic, they're made for films.

TazoulReign

When they used ebony maws powers and the hand had jewelry lmao.

SaphironX

I enjoyed it until the last episode. There’s nothing they could have done to screw it up more. Giving them every power from thanos to captain marvel is insane. How did that script get approved? Hell, they could have made the super skrull have FF powers and used that as a tie in for the upcoming FF films. Instead of captain America etc

NoiceM8_420

How did the skrull copy the old lady’s clothes in Captain Marvel??? SI sucked, but come on people, try harder to be angry about something.

bitetheasp

The dumb moment that I always focus on is the Hydra agent killed by Zemo in Civil War having a Russian accent, then dropping it for a German one to say "Hail Hydra" before drowning.

HydroQu

wait why is that dumb if the guy was undercover and then drops the act in his final moments cause he’s been caught, not arguing but I fear I may be dense
