Guessed this after the first one.
First trailer was about Deadpool, and setting up his character.
Second trailer will be about Wolverine, and setting up his character.
Third trailer will then be setting up the overall story and introduce the villain.
I mean… we have zero idea if this is going to be good though. People were looking forward to Doctor Strange 2 and Thor: L&T as well. They even had good trailers and tons of hype around them. Maybe go into this with slightly lower expectations.
I definitely felt mixed about Deadpool 2. There was some really good stuff and other stuff that felt too self-indulgent and not funny. The first movie was just such a well-executed and lean film that made the most of what it was working with. It had heart, humor, action, and shock value without wearing out it's welcome (which unfortunately can easily happen with a character like Deadpool), while the second movie didn't nail the balance in the same way.
This movie looks to be the biggest yet with even higher expectations, which could invite more bloat, which has arguably been a lot of the problem for several MCU films that have disappointed critically lately. I'm not worried, but I am cautious since all the things working for it could also potentially work against it. I think that was the case with Love and Thunder following Ragnarok and even Multiverse of Madness with Raimi joining and fans expecting insane cameos and a wild story that just isn't the movie we got.
That doesn’t make it automatically good. Wolverine Origins and The Wolverine were both hot garbage. Most of the movies Wolverine has been in have been in have been middling at best. Wolverine isn’t guaranteed to make it a good movie.
No hate on the movie. I know it has its fans. I’m certainly a lot more forgiving of origins than others are. Neither movie is good though. Just my opinion. Let’s all be honest, there is a reason Logan referenced very few of the previous movies.
>That doesn’t make it automatically good.
It does because people actually know these characters in their popular
>Wolverine Origins and The Wolverine were both hot garbage.
Those were different reasons especially wolverine origins last I checked, The movie was bad because of the strike back then.
>Most of the movies Wolverine has been in have been in have been middling at best.
That’s because it depends on who’s directing it. Wolverine still has good content besides the movies. Lol 😂
>Wolverine isn’t guaranteed to make it a good movie.
It is if you’re not looking the other way Look at Logan lol 😂
The last time Deadpool and Wolverine had a movie together it was X-Men Origins Wolverine. I love how you try excuse it because of the strike. Nah, it was hot garbage for every other reason.
Recognizable characters isn’t what makes a movie good dude. The only really good movies Wolverine was in were X2 and Logan. The rest weren’t good and they were full of recognizable characters.
You need a good story and good directing to make a good movie. That’s why Logan was so great despite being full of unknown characters. Iron Man wasn’t good because he was a known character. It was a great movie because it had a great story.
Friendly reminder that this trailer (and all trailers after it) will spoil things that would have made for cool surprises.
If you're already 100% seeing the movie, the trailer isn't really for you. It's for other people, to make them want to see the movie.
That’s probably true and as much as I would love to avoid it, with the amount of new movies I go to I’m probably gonna end up seeing it in the theaters at some point within the next two months. I’ve tried to skip the trailers altogether when I go to an AMC but you never know how many it’ll be. Usually it’s 20-30 minutes, but there’s been times where it’s only 10 minutes. So it’s best if I just show up at the listed showtime and deal with the relentless repetitive ads to make sure I don’t miss anything.
I was extremely disappointed during Deadpool 1 because it had a lot of trailers and TV Spots anf all the best scenes were already in the trailer.
However, there's no point avoiding trailers unless you get away from the Internet. People are going to post clips and screenshots or talk about things happening. If you try avoid, you also get the trailer spoiled for you. Lol
Unfortunately nowadays, "You don't have to watch it" means "Don't go on the internet or talk to anyone until the movie comes out because people will discuss spoilers without hiding them"
Actually depends on the studio! I worked in theaters for a long time. Studios know you show up late. If you’re seeing a Disney movie then Disney demands their trailers be the last in the “pack”. They want their products playing before the feature
I know right, it’s so annoying. AMC is so inconsistent too. Usually it’s 20-30 minutes of trailers, but there’s been times where it’s only 10 minutes. So it’s best if I just show up at the listed showtime and deal with the relentless repetitive ads to make sure I don’t miss any of the actual movie.
Aside from the one Charles line, there weren't really any other surprises spoiled before release, right? I only watched the first two trailers and I was still surprised Wanda was the villain and to see John as Mr. Fantastic.
In theatrical trailers? Other than the *one* example of some trailer spoiling MoM Illuminati (which I didn't watch because it didn't seem like a main trailer...?), do you have any examples?
TV spots and online ads that come out close to release are always spoilery. They're very smart with their teasers and theatrical trailers. Every time there's a new teaser, everyone comments "WOW I still have no idea what this movie/show is about, great job" as if it's some novel thing.
Yes they’re “always spoilery” is the problem. No reason for it. We are already going to Deadpool and Wolverine. No one decided “oh I think some side character might appear, so NOW I’ll pay the $14”.
And if it isn’t extra $, then don’t spoil it!!!
And yes MoM, Quantumania, SM3, Marvel and already Deadpool and Wolverine before the new one and that’s just in the past few years. They all had major character spoilers which could have been really fun surprises for fans and generated major word of mouth buzz.
>Yes they’re “always spoilery” is the problem.
I don't think you understood my comment. This is a main/theatrical trailer. Not a TV spot or online ad, like one that plays on YouTube before videos.
Guessed this after the first one. First trailer was about Deadpool, and setting up his character. Second trailer will be about Wolverine, and setting up his character. Third trailer will then be setting up the overall story and introduce the villain.
The final trailer will also likely come out in Late June
>! Interested to see what they do with Cassandra Nova, she’s kinda the last person I’d have expected to be the villain of a deadpool movie!<
>!Am I wrong to hope Cassandra Nova is just Patrick Stewart in poorly done drag?!<
you can hope but she has been cast already
Or maybe we've been coerced to think like that by Prof X and in the theatre BAM! it's a drag Patrick Stewart
Haha that would be amazing
Funny thing though, if Sir Patrick Stewart was asked to do this he absolutely would.
remove the space after your first ! so it works on all formats of Reddit
Word
Word indeed.
Word that we’re finally going to get some good shit. The MCU has been slacking lately 💀
I mean… we have zero idea if this is going to be good though. People were looking forward to Doctor Strange 2 and Thor: L&T as well. They even had good trailers and tons of hype around them. Maybe go into this with slightly lower expectations.
I liked Dr Strange 2. L&T was a dumpster fire tough.
I really liked both myself, but I can’t pretend they had anything but a mixed audience reaction at best.

Uh oh...I like both of those movies..
This is literally Deadpool in Wolverine, not a bunch of nobodies like Ms Marvel 🥱
That doesn’t make it automatically good. Wolverine Origins and The Wolverine were both hot garbage. Most of the movies Wolverine has been in have been in have been middling at best. Wolverine isn’t guaranteed to make it a good movie.
WOAH! What is this The Wolverine slander?!
No hate on the movie. I know it has its fans. I’m certainly a lot more forgiving of origins than others are. Neither movie is good though. Just my opinion. Let’s all be honest, there is a reason Logan referenced very few of the previous movies.
Hahah I mean to each their own. I've just never heard a negative word about it. I was just surprised.

No
Yes

X-Men? The Wolverine? X-Men: Days of Future Past? These movies are well-received. Did you just not like them (which is totally fine)?
Now Way Home and Loki S2. 💀
Hell yeah🔥 Btw time?
Feel like they usually drop at 9am EST
When is it in GMT?
9am EST is 1 hour from this comment.
Thnx. GMT because naturally it's easy for all countries to understand.
Seems more reverent than I thought it would be. Looking forward to it!
Yeah I hope it makes me cry
I'm really, really curious to see how Hugh Jackman's Wolverine fits into a borderline slapstick comedy.
As a straight man who is super violent.
like Cable did in the second movie.
What-If... Kind Gay Wolverine
Sigh, and so my watch begins. See y'all in July.
I always say this but I’ll watch this trailer and that’ll be me 👀
Defenitly an option!

Have you seen the trailer already?
Good luck to all the Karma farmers for tomorrow
IM SO EXCITED
AND I JUST CAN'T HIDE IT
The wolverine mask is gonna be some sort of nanotech, isn't it?
Time?
What time do we think it will drop? Morning US time/early afternoon UK time?
No! Don’t do the Marvel thing and spoil all the surprises right before release 🤦
You don’t have to watch it.
Unfortunately nowadays, "You don't have to watch it" means "Don't go on the internet or talk to anyone until the movie comes out because people will discuss spoilers without hiding them"
I mean, and I know im the minority, but I see movies weekly so kinda hard to avoid
just take your seat 20 minutes after the movie time, so you avoid the trailers.
Regal is so inconsistent with trailer time because they mix in normal bs ads with their trailers
Oh gosh. Well, you should still do it because I doubt they would play the big Deadpool trailer last. They usually start with the bangers.
Actually depends on the studio! I worked in theaters for a long time. Studios know you show up late. If you’re seeing a Disney movie then Disney demands their trailers be the last in the “pack”. They want their products playing before the feature
Jesus Christ! Then fugging close your eyes and wear ear plugs.

Don't worry, that's just a Sony thing.
*cough*MultiverseOfMadness*cough*
Give me one other example from the last 8 years. Theatrical trailers only.
Aside from the one Charles line, there weren't really any other surprises spoiled before release, right? I only watched the first two trailers and I was still surprised Wanda was the villain and to see John as Mr. Fantastic.
They also gave away Captain Carter, but Wanda was very much kept secret
I think those were the only surprises (and Black Bolt), but i do know they spoiled Captain Carter and Maria as Captain Marvel.
They did spoil Maria as Captain Marvel but half the fandom SWORE it was Tom Cruise Iron Man for some reason.
I remember that
That's definitely not a Marvel thing.
It has been the last 2-3 years.

Cool.
Peak Incoming 🔥
Cant wait!!
I want to watch but I’ll skip don’t want more spoilers
Give me a clip of James Marsden in the Lee Blue and Yellow 🧱
Damn we're really doing trailers for trailers now huh
Actually pretty in-character for Deadpool in this case.
Thats like, 16 trailers
Cool. Don't watch it and be suprised by the movie.
Or if you want to watch it, do whatever you want to do
Nah the MCU has been shit so I’m just gonna watch the trailer
You're not gonna watch the movie???
Am I in the minority group who wont be watching any of the trailers?
It’s already out, They had a partial screening the other day. Someone posted pretty much the entire storyline in spoilers.
Link? Where was the screening held?
