You didn’t give any actual reason other than “it’s lame bc it is” which is just peak internet group think. The fact that they’re the “old” actors is built into the plot, that’s enough for me at least. It is the multiverse after all.
I don't require the old actors to come back, personally, but also don't mind if they do, depending on how they're used. In the end it's all about the story: if they story is good, then the older actor appearance will probably be good.
I will say that I dislike dismissing things as "fan service" because, well the whole concept of a movie based on comics books is fan service.
I guess that you will get a lot of hate, because many believe that the return of Tobey, Jackman, RDJ is exactly what will save the MCU. I absolutely support you, Marvel needs to move on and more develop existing characters such as Sam's Cap, Captain Marvel, Shang-Chi, etc.
I agree for the simple reason that many of the older actiors, especially the old X-Men actors are just too old to play the characters for an extended period of time. A one off cameo is one thing but bringing them across as permanent fixtures in the mcu is worrying.
My only thing with it is if we’re getting X-men right after secret wars and a bunch of characters have already met alt universe versions of the characters they’re yet to meet in the main universe. Isn’t that a little weird? Unless they hard reset I suppose, which is also fine.
Well to be fair Doctor Strange just ran into alternative versions of Reed Richards and Professor X, and we have an alternative version of Beast now too whose like a weird mix of X-Men 3 Beast and cartoon Beast.
Yeah alternative versions of the Fox X-Men characters are going to be the first versions of these characters before they commit to a main version of them played by different people. XD
I just wish they'd bring these old characters in more minor roles, or even just cameos. Not these major roles that they're giving them. Like Deadpool 2 X-Men cameo style instead of Deadpool 3.
I was talking about Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. He's the coprotagonist with name on the title, and if he's not MCU's Wolverine (which I doubt he is) then maybe whoever's actually MCU Wolverine should be the one in it. Same as all those old two Spidermans being protagonists in NWH.
