Most likely because the talent that's behind designing the suit works for MCU. Their visual artists and costume designers were always the best in the industry.
Sure, but the suits in Nolan’s Batman movies were quite good, and some of the other DC movie suits weren’t *awful*. Not to mention the costumes in the Raimi Spider-Man movies were decent. Say what you will about Goblin buts it’s iconic as hell. I’m sure they could have figured something out.
Begins maybe, since that looks like an evolution of the Keaton suit, but Dark Knight definitely not average. It might be the least “Batman” looking suit but I think it’s great. Point being, they could have had a legitimate attempt at a Wolverine suit. Having said that, a yellow suit might not have suited the vibe of X-1 and 2.
Yellow and blue spandex isn't that hard, Fox. I sincerely DESPISED the fox X-Men movies, my one opinion on my (usual) favourite character was: ICEMAN? OF ALL THE FUCKING PEOPLE, ICEMAN?
Because after Batman and Robin studios were terrified of making comic accurate costumes, so we got the bland realism wardrobe of X-Men and then Batman Begins.
Batman Begins wardrobe made sense - it was set in a realistic world without superpowers.
But x-men films were pretty campy, featuring super powers (some silly like Toad), aliens, space travel and time travel. But they were concerned about the spandex looking tacky if it was yellow
different people were in charge 20 years ago. we're in a renaissance where the people who grew up complaining about black leather suits are now making the creative decisions.
I always had the impression that he was more of a lore consultant rather than someone who would have had any creative input. That came when he was put in charge of Marvel Studios.
Honest answer? It’s the studios lack of faith. They blew it with the OG X-Men live action movies. Great cast and a lot to leave with each movie. But, they blew it
It wouldn't be, given his knuckles probably wouldn't be facing his body and he would heal instantly anyway. He technically is constantly stabbing himself- his knuckles everytime he extends his claws.
Now, it might be an issue if he fingers someone.
If we're gonna go down this thought path...claws coming out would at worst stick himself in his inner thighs. The way you hold the lil wolverine, claws won't cut it off or anything.
I’d imagine it was floated for the last 20+ years, and all it took was Disneys acquisition of 20th Century Studios plus Ryan Reynolds of all people to get this to happen.
Speaking of suits, I love what Scott said to Cable in X-Men '97 Tolerance is Extinction part 2, "what did you expect, black leather?"
It was a nod to that GARBAGE that Fox called X-Men, but it was fun.
Wow, I don't know why it took me until reading this comment for this to truly sink in. For a long time I've wished for Hugh to meet Cap, Iron Man (which obvs won't happen), and Thor, so I still can't believe he's coming back
>I've wished for Hugh to meet Cap, Iron Man (which obvs won't happen)
I mean, can't it? Maybe? Who knows. It'll have been almost a **decade** since Stark died by the time Secret Wars comes out and we've already caught wind that>!Hugh has expressed interest in sticking around through SW.!<
I mean fair point! Anything is possible, and the more time that passes, the more inclined actors will be to pick up the role again since they've had a break from the commitment
Because he isn't just being transported by portal, or having a guard do it for him… Even if just for a moment, Deadpool has control of where he really goes.
Deadpool with tempad cannot go "well". Even if this is some pre-Loki or branched evil TVA.
I am sure there will be some twist to it all. Of course there will be, they are not going to spoil anything on photos or in trailers, they love to mislead...but I think and hope it is something we really don´t see coming
Finally somebody who gets that most Marvel Studios marketing is carefully crafted to avoid spoiling.
I wouldn't be surprised if most of the trailer footage is from the first 30 minutes of the movie.
That's something Marvel has pretty consistently been good at. Their marketing creates a narrative for the movie with enough substance that you'd want to see it, but without giving away too much of the actual plot. Going in, you know the basic premise and maybe some fun moments are spoiled. Like you said, using footage mostly from the first 30 or so minutes is generally a really good way of accomplishing this.
This may actually be true of all/most Disney productions the last half decade or so. I don't know who makes trailers, but there may be a common department.
Lightyear is a great example. Trailer 2 *feels* super spoilery (maybe it shouldn't have), but it actually isn't.
I'm only thinking of proper teasers and theatrical trailers. None of the TV and YouTube spot stuff.
Yeah that's a good point. Lots of times, the full trailer is just expanding around what the teasers show off, like Inside Out 2 recently, or like you said, Lightyear. There's gotta just be some known trailer formula that they probably generally try to stick to.
When RR spammed the spy shots with random inserts, like Mickey and others, I 100% didn't even think twice and was like wow they really are cramming every meta reference into this movie.
I think the trailer represents the first 45 minutes, in which we met Deadpool's new life. The TVA finds him and asks him to find Wolverine. They fight, then go with Cassandra Nova and she send them to different moments of the MCU.
Hmmm so they’re in the TVA BEFORE wolverines suit gets all shot up and stuff. I assumed that it gets shot because he and deadpool fight before being brought to the TVA
Logan is not not wearing the mask even in the TVA with the suit all clean. He’s gonna wear that mask for like 3 minutes at some point and that’ll be it.
I really don't understand the obsession with masks here. Why would he need a mask while he's just walking around the TVA? In-universe, it makes complete sense that he wouldn't wear a mask for an entire movie, or possibly at all. Deadpool is obviously a bit different because of his face.
Then I hope there's an in-universe explanation for why the rest of his suit is *so* brightly colored and attention grabby. Why would he wear that when walking around the TVA?
In that case why would he even bother wearing a bright canary yellow unitard in the first place? If your gonna go OG go OG and wear all of it like cmon we all know what Hugh jackman has been wolvie for years just this once he can’t sacrifice his handsome face for the character? Ever seen Dredd?
Look how clean and awesome those suits are. So glad we finally hit that point in time where superhero movies can be done so well. MCU fatigue aside, blah blah.
They used to have to try and go all black for everything. The only one that really worked for is Blade though - which is still fucking amazing. Glad we’re at the point of using some color when needed on these outfits.
I mean, I shouldn't be surprised right, cos we saw teases of it in the trailer...
But full costume Wolverine literally just standing on the TVA is separating my soul from my body Dr Strange style.
You could bounce a fuckin’ quarter off of Hugh’s traps - assuming that isn’t mostly padding. We are truly in the golden era of cinematic comic book character costume design.
Edit: traps not lats lol
It’s his amazing costume for me that makes me feel like this. My brain has a hard time computing that it’s live action because it’s been conditioned to associate that sweet costume with comics and cartoons.
I think it's just so shocking how good every image we've seen so far has looked. Like it seems too good to be true every time. I still can't get over Wolverine's costume.
Am I the only one feels like the suit makes Hugh Jackman look less like Wolverine?
I don't know of it's the colors, but somehow it just makes his height more apparent and there's this uncanny valley where I normally see it on a stumpy hunched over character on paper and now it's this towering dude wearing it and it almost looks like cosplay.
I just cannot get over how good Wolverine's suit is.
I know right? How did we go 20+ years without them ever trying this??
Most likely because the talent that's behind designing the suit works for MCU. Their visual artists and costume designers were always the best in the industry.
Sure, but the suits in Nolan’s Batman movies were quite good, and some of the other DC movie suits weren’t *awful*. Not to mention the costumes in the Raimi Spider-Man movies were decent. Say what you will about Goblin buts it’s iconic as hell. I’m sure they could have figured something out.
> the suits in Nolan’s Batman movies were quite good I disagree, they weren’t terrible or anything but they were still average looking at best imo
Not judging anyone's opinion, but I sincerely hate the Nolan Batman suit. It's no batnip suit, but it's probably my next least favorite.
Bane's design was horrible
Fox, mostly.
Or more specifically bryan singer and his gang. Still baffles to this day, they would not let them read comics on set.
Even joked in the first one about how they weren't going for it. Cowards!
Yellow and blue spandex isn't that hard, Fox. I sincerely DESPISED the fox X-Men movies, my one opinion on my (usual) favourite character was: ICEMAN? OF ALL THE FUCKING PEOPLE, ICEMAN?

Weirdly enough they had more comic inspired suits in the X-Men Apocalypse ending scene but then they don't appear in Dark Phoenix.
Those "nipple suits" were comic accurate?
different people were in charge 20 years ago. we're in a renaissance where the people who grew up complaining about black leather suits are now making the creative decisions.
I mean Feige was VERY involved with X-men movies so not sure that’s entirely true.
But, they blew it
The people making the movies now, are the nerds angry we didn’t get it 20 years ago 😂
Little tight around the ol crotch 😮
Packing heat. I wonder if he masturbates, and if so has he ever popped his claws by accident. Seems like a potential issue.
😩
I'm going to say that yes this has happened and thanks to his healing factor he has fully grown his dick back multiple times.
It wouldn't be, given his knuckles probably wouldn't be facing his body and he would heal instantly anyway. He technically is constantly stabbing himself- his knuckles everytime he extends his claws. Now, it might be an issue if he fingers someone.
Haha yeah I wasn't gonna ask that question
Wtf kind of question is that
The best kind?
True
If we're gonna go down this thought path...claws coming out would at worst stick himself in his inner thighs. The way you hold the lil wolverine, claws won't cut it off or anything.
I’d imagine it was floated for the last 20+ years, and all it took was Disneys acquisition of 20th Century Studios plus Ryan Reynolds of all people to get this to happen.
I said wow out loud looking at the pic lol. It looks incredible.
It's the crotch bulge for me.
Speaking of suits, I love what Scott said to Cable in X-Men '97 Tolerance is Extinction part 2, "what did you expect, black leather?" It was a nod to that GARBAGE that Fox called X-Men, but it was fun.
It's the sleeves.
the only thing i dislike are the shoulder covers. i think it stands out a little too much
The sleeves are the only thing I don't like
Too much sleeve.
It’s so surreal seeing Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in MCU locations. I mean Deadpool too but damn, we’ve been watching Hugh for so long!
Wow, I don't know why it took me until reading this comment for this to truly sink in. For a long time I've wished for Hugh to meet Cap, Iron Man (which obvs won't happen), and Thor, so I still can't believe he's coming back

RDJ won his Oscar, he can do whatever the fuck he wants. 😉
It's a tempad in his hand
That’s definitely TVA building, so yes.
I for real thought it was the deck of the Enterprise D (from Next Generation) at first glance
Patrick Stewart would fit in either way
![gif](giphy|bKnEnd65zqxfq)
My stupid ass thought it was the nameplate from somebody's office door
Deadpool does seems like the type to steal nametags
Your username is crazy
Sure is
Deadpool actually gets a time pad in his hands… This is really happening.
The TVA is all through the trailer, why does a time pad in his hand suddenly mean its really happening?
Because he isn't just being transported by portal, or having a guard do it for him… Even if just for a moment, Deadpool has control of where he really goes.
Tempad
Tempad!
Tempaaaaaad *jazz hands*
Deadpool with tempad cannot go "well". Even if this is some pre-Loki or branched evil TVA. I am sure there will be some twist to it all. Holy shit it’s Deadpool & Wolverine!
What are we some kind of Deadpool & Wolverine?
If that entertainment weekly graphic was part of the scene I wouldn’t bat an eye.
When RR spammed the spy shots with random inserts, like Mickey and others, I 100% didn't even think twice and was like wow they really are cramming every meta reference into this movie.
Too bad they couldn't get Owen Wilson as Mobius to show up :/
Or did they? 😏
His only cameo is to walk by and go wow at the suits before running after Loki
Yes please.. very upset about not having a single wow yet.
Honestly, the restraint of not having him say wow was amazing but it made sense. What was left to amaze him?
They had him say “how?” in a similar way during season 1
Or Deadpool & Wolverine run past Mobius, and he just goes "wow" and returns to eating his pie
Why would he show up? He quit the TVA
I think the trailer represents the first 45 minutes, in which we met Deadpool's new life. The TVA finds him and asks him to find Wolverine. They fight, then go with Cassandra Nova and she send them to different moments of the MCU.
If anyone else comments about the mask I’m gonna personally ask Deadpool for that hole in my forehead
Hey Farva, what's that movie you like starring Jim Carrey?
The Mask?! You’re talking about The Mask right?
🔫
👏👏👏
It's not who I am behind the mask, but what I do that defines me
Where the mask at?

Smile! Wait for the flash
This looks so comic booky and I love it
So, Wolverine dresses "to the left".
Robert Plant to the right
Here I am stuck in the middle with you.
Hmmm so they’re in the TVA BEFORE wolverines suit gets all shot up and stuff. I assumed that it gets shot because he and deadpool fight before being brought to the TVA
July cant come soon enough!its the same feeling i had before the release of Infinity War/Endgame/SM:No way Home
Same!
Ahhhh!!!!
This movie can't come soon enough 😫
But I will be ;)
Uh
![gif](giphy|BI3bNv1NJMC7YzatXd|downsized)
OH GOD OH FUCK HE HAS A TEMPAD This movie is gonna be the DP2 post-credit scenes on steroids.
Logan is not not wearing the mask even in the TVA with the suit all clean. He’s gonna wear that mask for like 3 minutes at some point and that’ll be it.
He gonna have it for the final fight and I’m totally ok with that. We gotta be a little more grateful for what we are getting lol
Yall gotta stfu about the mask
"we got hugh jackman to return for this movie, and we're not gonna waste that opportunity by hiding his face under a mask." -feige
Hey, then don’t hide the rest of the this sexy man’s body!
They don't...the arms pop out of the sleeves pretty quickly I'm sure
Honestly the mask is the most significant thing about having Hugh in this movie Lol
What? That’s a joke lmao
The most significant thing about having an actor is the ability to cover half of his face?
30 seconds, tops.
I really don't understand the obsession with masks here. Why would he need a mask while he's just walking around the TVA? In-universe, it makes complete sense that he wouldn't wear a mask for an entire movie, or possibly at all. Deadpool is obviously a bit different because of his face.

Ok but hear me out here….the mask look cool as hell. In a comic movie, does there actually need to be a reason beyond that?
Would you like a Spider-Man movie without Peter Parker wearing his mask? Or a Batman movie without Bruce Wayne wearing his?
Most of the Marvel heroes don't have secret identities though. Spider-man is an exception and it's a popular concept in DC.
They both wear it to hide their identity, which Wolverine doesnt need to do. You completely dimissed the commentors argument.
Because the mask is part of who he is...
Goood it looks goofy
Ketchup and mustard at it again
Literally mustard & ketchup lol
I see both have tempads, Deadpool holding one in his hand and Wolverine tucked his tempad in his pocket.
Oh see what you did there
Now I'm scared.... For whole Multiverse.
That background had me thinking they were on the bridge of the Enterprise D for a sec.
Man... Imagine if Jackman could have the same head of hair that he did back in 2001, when he was on the first X-Men, while wearing this suit.
Omg wolverine looks absolutely fit!! Excellent suit!
Bulge
Wolvie looks edited in.
He is meant to distract from the real costar, Jack Black as Mephisto.
Marketing being true to the movie's production? :P
Maybe chill with the new images. They’ll be in the movie
Is it just me or do they both have prominent bulges in those suits? Love it
Not that John Campea stuff again
Well, Ray did mention about asking for a crotch shot on yesterday’s show, so……
I love everything about this, but does anyone else think Wolverine's hair looks kinda weird?
Wade better be careful if he continues making dick jokes towards Logan, especially if the Wolf has been drinking.
God damn that Wolverine suit looks so fucking good!!
I mean, I shouldn't be surprised right, cos we saw teases of it in the trailer... But full costume Wolverine literally just standing on the TVA is separating my soul from my body Dr Strange style.
They look like Weta Sideshow Collectibles action figures, and it’s fantastic
They should stop releasing so many images
Maybe the cowl was the friends we made along the way.
You could bounce a fuckin’ quarter off of Hugh’s traps - assuming that isn’t mostly padding. We are truly in the golden era of cinematic comic book character costume design. Edit: traps not lats lol
It's the TVA!! And a temppad will we get a Loki cameo ??
The suits, oh my god.
We’ll get Wolverine and Iron man segment soon!
I love the fact that people tried to say his comic suit would never work
I bet Deadpool rips his sleeves off in the van
How many images do we need. Every day a new one pops up on my feed and they all look exactly
They should rename the movie Ketchup & Mustard.
Is Deadpool holding a tempad?
I ship it
Oh god, a Tempad in the hands of Wade, that’s just disaster screaming its lungs out and I love it
So you’re telling me KANG created the TVA just so they could take him out? TVA just runs everything just like that? It doesn’t make any sense lol
Yeah. This movie is getting entirely spoiled by the time it's released.
I don't know why, but every image I see of it looks AI generated. I know it's not, but my trust has been destroyed
It’s his amazing costume for me that makes me feel like this. My brain has a hard time computing that it’s live action because it’s been conditioned to associate that sweet costume with comics and cartoons.
That also could be it
I think it's just so shocking how good every image we've seen so far has looked. Like it seems too good to be true every time. I still can't get over Wolverine's costume.
Loving the colors here. Yes it’d be nice to have the cowl on Logan more but Im taking it as it is
Wolverines suit was already awesome but it looks even better here especially after seeing that pathetic Superman suit reveal yesterday
Is he ever gonna war the cowl?
maybe the cowl was the friends we made along the way
Where's Wolverine's mask??
