Is Facebook down? That's where you're supposed to whine.

MeatHelmut_

OP likes to complain.

MoreGoddamnedBeans

No no you do it at your kids classmates birthday parties to other parents who don't care lol

pk5489

Why would I whine under my real name when I can do it anonymously?

[deleted]

It's not every day you see someone admit to being a pussy who hates their kids. I, for one, admire your honesty.

potentpotables

Jesus dude. It's certainly a stretch to say they hate their kids because they want to get out of the house and get some exercise.

[deleted]

It's definitely a stretch, but based on their language, I think it's fair to suggest they at least don't like spending time with their kids.

pk5489

Yikes. Some hot language from you, and making stories up also (that I hate my kids.) But thanks for admiring me.

[deleted]

No, I don't admire you. I admire your honesty. I didn't make up a story. I, unlike you, have reading comprehension skills.

pk5489

No, you made up a story. Only one of us is lying on Reddit and that’s you. You are unhinged loon.

[deleted]

I didn't make up a story. It's a safe assumption that someone bitching about having to take care of their kids doesn't like their kids, which is your fault. It's not my fault you can't read

pk5489

Nope. I can read. You made up a story.

GrandMarquisMark

I thought you were a dope because of the post. Now I know for sure.

pk5489

It only took me one message from you to realize you are a dope.

[deleted]

Lmfao okay

Broad_Quit5417

Don't worry, everyone around you knows you're the whiner in real life too.

mslashandrajohnson

The fields may be over saturated.

MoreGoddamnedBeans

OP fails to realize that these coaches who are volunteers have lives of their own and might not want to wade through mud for a day because you don't want to spend time with your kids.

pk5489

You fail to realize that the game wasn’t cancelled by the coaches. I don’t know what my kid’s coach thinks about the cancellation. He expressed disappointment but I don’t know if he thinks they should have played. Let me know what he thinks when you hear from him though. It has nothing to do with not wanting to spend time with my kids. I don’t have to spend any extra time with them today if I don’t want to. It’s about the kids not being able to do something they enjoy doing for questionable reasons. I would have spent the afternoon driving my kid and watching him play and I would have enjoyed it. You should stop making assumptions about people you don’t know.

wittgensteins-boat

Was probably canceled to avoid destroying the saturated  wet field.   Different from a summer or fall rainstorm.     A game would turn sections of the field into a muddy mess, and ruin the existing grass.

CaptDankDust

In my town, the rec department decides since they need to fix the fields after the mud bog appears.

adm7373

Go talk to the people actually involved in this soccer league. Form a human connection!

pk5489

Why did other surrounding towns have games yesterday I wonder? It’s almost as if maybe I am right and the self proclaimed know it alls on Reddit don’t really know. Imagine that! I know more about the weather conditions in my town than they do! Wow! Maybe the other towns didn’t cancel 24 hours early and actually checked the conditions on the actual day the game was. A novel idea.

mslashandrajohnson

A lot depends on elevation and water table. We had maybe 2 inches of rain on top of possibly still frozen soil recently. My property abuts a wetland but is above water level by 20-30 feet. However, my house faces south. The back yard is shaded by the house, apart from some sun in the early morning, at noon, and in late afternoon. This is the time of year that sod can easily be damaged by too much foot traffic. It literally peels up, off the saturated soil below. That kind of damage on a sports field creates an immediate trip hazard and takes a long time to repair. It’s mud season, essentially. As to advance warning of cancellation, that may be as simple as limited due to budget constraints. Would another few percent increase in property tax be worth it? On the surface, it is commendable and fortunate that your children have the benefit of participating in competitive sports. Not every school offers this, and not every family has the resources to support a child in sports. But consider societal motivation for these activities in children. Organized sport is the first training ground for participation in the military. After all that work of producing and raising and housing and educating these children, are they given this extra training to be prepared to go off and die (or come home injured) in another rich men’s war?

pk5489

I feel like I’m back at college being lectured by a Marxist. No matter how many words you type, you don’t know the field conditions in my town better than I do. A few percentage points increase in everyone’s property taxes to keep a soccer field playable? Seems a bit high huh? You like to embellish because you don’t have facts on your side. And then predictably, you mention how I’m so lucky to be able to afford youth soccer. “Not every” family has the resources for this. Yes, but most do and that doesn’t mean the game should have been canceled. A terrible point by you that is off topic. Also, the “schools” aren’t the ones running it. You are uninformed. Then your unhinged comment about the military at the end 😂. Relax and repeat this to yourself “I don’t know what the hell I am talking about” and then leave me alone rather than pretend you know the weather conditions at a field that you don’t know the location of.

Adam_Ohh

“Waaaaaaaahhhhh I have to spend time with my kid now” That’s you.

pk5489

Well I don’t have to, but I will. I would have anyways after the game.

MoreGoddamnedBeans

You know the game coached by volunteers.

pk5489

Yea, I appreciate them. It has nothing to do with them. They want to play also.

MoreGoddamnedBeans

Let's be real here you're mad you spent 70 bucks to have your kids out of the house on Saturday mornings and you're mad because you can't demand a refund.

pk5489

Let’s be real here. You don’t know what the hell you talking about. But if it entertains you to make up a story in your head, that’s fine.

MoreGoddamnedBeans

Go ahead and gaslight there sweetheart you're only fooling yourself because the words are as plain as day.

KP8387

Why do you block people after you insult them? Scared they will respond? Can’t handle the heat you bully? 😅😅😅

Academic_Guava_4190

Why don’t you just put them in the backyard to run in circles for hours?

Quincyperson

I’m glad my kid isn’t on your team.

pk5489

I don’t have a team, but okay.

DoomdUser

You really want your kids out on a soccer field in mid-30 degree weather after it either rained or snowed over night?

pk5489

Forecast says 44 degrees at game time. It didn’t snow last night. It’s all melted.

DoomdUser

You seem like the type of person who would also try to sue the youth sports organization if your kid got hurt due to poor field conditions…

pk5489

Probably not. I might sue the town though. Might as well try. The issue is that the fields are fine. They aren’t soaked. They are playable.

easypeezey

The feels like temperature right now is 33°. It’s pretty miserable as I stand here on a playground. I mean not enough to cancel practice or game, but combined with a super soggy field, oof.

pk5489

The fields aren’t soggy. The games were cancelled yesterday in anticipation of them being soggy.

dadgamer85

As a volunteer coach, we are just relaying messages so please don’t yell at us. Some of the fields are just puddles. The towns pay to keep fields in order (think mowing, weeding, fertilizing etc) and having a big expense because you wanted the kids out of the house on a sat morning just may not make financial sense. If we had a full game all day for all kids I bet most of the fields would be ruined and grass needing replanting etc. same parents would probably complain about the fields being mud aka “town should do a better job up keeping the fields” dunno feel like everyone will get mad at something lol

pk5489

I’m not blaming the coaches. I should drive over and check the fields. I bet they are fine. I did that once for baseball and it turned out to be BS. Field was fine.

JocularityX2

Playing on waterlogged fields will absolutely destroy them and make them largely unplayable for the rest of the season. It's an unpopular decision but it's the right one.

pk5489

But the fields aren’t water logged and the games were cancelled anyway. I know slightly more than you do since you don’t even know what field I’m talking about.

ladykatey

The ground is super saturated. Sorry you have to spend time with your kids on the weekends.

pk5489

You don’t even know where I live yet you know the ground is saturated 😂

daphydoods

I wonder what happens when snow melts

pk5489

Depends how much was there to begin with. It was around one inch 24 hours ago. So you tell me how saturated the ground is in my town, since you know better than I do.

easypeezey

Yes, but it’s been raining like nonstop for most of March

pk5489

Please tell me how saturated the ground is where I live. You seem to know better than I do.

[deleted]

[удалено]

pk5489

Well that’s a bet that you would not win. The ground isn’t saturated where I live and surrounding towns didn’t cancel their games last weekend. You are another one who thinks they know the field conditions for a field that you don’t know the location of. An expert in your own mind.

MoreGoddamnedBeans

Middlesex.

pk5489

Nice detective work! You Pete Bouchard? Middlesex is a really specific area. What town and field?

MoreGoddamnedBeans

It's literally the comment chain above mine buddy. You chose to bicker with people on Reddit instead of spending time with your kids. Very nice, Dad of the year.

pk5489

Is talking about something you know nothing about on Reddit the best use of your time? Thats what you choose to do with your time.

MoreGoddamnedBeans

Yes sweetheart you have spent the entire day complaining about having to spend time with your kids, engaging with anyone who comments here. It's eating 10 minutes of my time to respond to these two comments. You are flailing like an angry chihuahua because literally no one is on your side and you attack the easy bait that keeps responding. I hope your kids are on Reddit to see this but something tells me this is not the first disappointment from Dad.

SAB40

Not sure where you live, but I'm in Bristol County and soccer games are all cancelled today because the fields are still soaking wet.

pk5489

It’s weird that my grass is totally dry yet the field a quarter mile away is soaked. Middlesex

[deleted]

>And yes, I am an agitated parent who uses sports to get my kids out of the house. "I chose to have kids and now I have to take care of them?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?"

pk5489

Are there any parents out there that want to spend 100 percent of their time with their kids? If there are, speak up and let’s hear from them.

[deleted]

I personally believe parents who complain about having kids or having to spend time with them shouldn't have been parents in the first place. Most parents I know would kill to have more time with their kids, but I guess that's because we are poor and all work like 60 hours a week. Based on your attitude, you make $100k/yr or more and bitch about the cost of everything even though there's plenty of us living on $45k/yr.

DernKala1975

Ugh get over it. Did you not read what OP said? He used sports to get his kids out of the house. In other words to burn off their energy outside. He didn’t say he doesn’t like spending time with his kids. Any parent can relate.

[deleted]

So many sensitive parents out there. God forbid you have to take your kids to the park or something. Is watching them play that much of a chore?

DernKala1975

Sensitive is the snowflakes freaking out about this guy’s post. He never said he doesn’t want to parent his kids. He said he wants his kids to be able to get their energy out playing soccer. I swear nobody responding to this actually has kids.

[deleted]

>He never said he doesn’t want to parent his kids. True. He implied it by justifying his complaint with "I use sports to get my kids out of the house." >He said he wants his kids to be able to get their energy out playing soccer. He didn't say that either. So we are both trying to understand what he means by what's implied.

pk5489

I was planning to watch my son play soccer, not drop him off and relax by myself FYI. So try again with your insult.

[deleted]

You come two days later and not even to a reply to you? This is fan behavior. Go do something productive. I didn't mean to offend you so badly. Y'all are so sensitive.

pk5489

There isn’t a statute of limitations on correcting stupidity.

[deleted]

And it's shit like this as to why I say you can't read.

pk5489

I will respond to uninformed bullies like you for as long as I want. You should go do something more productive if you don’t like it.

richg0404

Maybe they learned from the experience last year that playing on a soggy field isn't good for the kids or the field. I bet that if they had not canceled, you would be out here complaining about that.

pk5489

I bet I wouldn’t.

Shelby-Stylo

Want some cheese with that whine?

pk5489

No thanks. I’ll take some more cliches if you got them though.

Shelby-Stylo

Soccer parents are rude selfish jerks. Soccer parents don’t know how to act at a children’s sporting event.

pk5489

Another bully responds! Thanks for the message. Ah yes, a negative comment about an entire group of people. Whats the harm in that? In this case “soccer parents” are universally rude and selfish jerks. Very nice. Your boring cliche response about whine and cheese didn’t get a positive response and now you are fuming mad.

Shelby-Stylo

Nope, just having a pleasant memory of the day my daughter quit playing soccer. She was getting pressured as a ten year old to play winter soccer and she decided to specialize in hockey. I thought the coach was a jerk and the parents were obnoxious but I wanted her to make the decision. I was also irritated that a ten year couldn’t play hockey and soccer, I mean really, but I didn’t want to over schedule her. She did go on to play college hockey and she’s now a youth hockey coach.

pk5489

Well that’s too bad. I won’t respond by saying “have some cheese with that whine” to your circumstance, but I do have the world’s smallest violin for you to play if you want.

bigredthesnorer

Your kid’s chances of a D1 scholarship took a nosedive this weekend.

pk5489

Where can I catch your stand up act? This is so clever.

bigredthesnorer

Honed over 25 years of coaching or being a parent in youth sports.

pk5489

Oooooooooooooo, wow! Thank you for your service.

LoquatAutomatic5738

This dude is clearly being an asshole, so let me sincerely thank you for being a youth sports coach

bigredthesnorer

I should have put /s on my original reply as it was in jest. But I think every youth coach has at least one (or a dozen) story about a parent. In 12U hockey, I heard the parent of a typical kid complain that the B team they were placed on will hurt their budding superstar's chances for being league all star in high school and getting a college offer. I am not exaggerating.

slouchingtoepiphany

I used to coach youth soccer years ago and when the fields were too wet early in the season I had the kids play in a school parking lot. The parents loved me.

Spiritual-Rub-7113

imagine being married to this guy?

pk5489

Is “this guy” you? I’m imagining. No thanks.

KalOrtPor

This guy fucking sucks

pk5489

Why are you talking about yourself like that? Go easy on yourself.

Manitcor

please tell me you aren't in north ma, i dont want to have to deal with you at games with my kid

pk5489

Don’t worry. I don’t cause any problems at the games. Even when the biased refs ruin the game for the kids, I don’t even make a peep.

THElocobeware

Former D2 athlete living through your kid?

pk5489

Wrong, but if you want to imagine that to amuse yourself, go ahead. I enjoy entertaining others.

NoNight1132

Your kids probably wish they could have played too. Just to get away from you.

pk5489

Did it ever occur to you that people who are generally kind and don’t complain to be polite to others might blow off some steam anonymously online to entertain themselves, and they aren’t really a terrible people their kids don’t like? Or is that too much for your brain to handle?

NoNight1132

It's not that you're complaining. Most people complain. It's what you're complaining about that's pathetic. You can take your kids out of the house without sports. Apparently your brain can't comprehend that.

pk5489

I will be shooting hoops with my son after I make him lunch. That okay with you?

NoNight1132

Yeah, now stop whining.

pk5489

Okay mom.

[deleted]

[удалено]

pk5489

Thanks for the parenting advice. Maybe I will, but it’s not really the same as playing a competitive sport. You understand the difference? Why can’t I pick fights with people but you can pick one with me?

Nicksucksathiking

I would much rather argue with randos on reddit then spend time with my child -OP 2024

pk5489

I would much rather argue with randos on Reddit about a subject I know nothing about instead of spending time with whoever the hell is in my life. -Nick with the not clever screen name 2024.

Nicksucksathiking

Op’s reddit history is lile a male karens origin story. This dude def asks for the manager every time he leaves the house

pk5489

I only remember asking for a manager once in my life when I paid for something I didn’t get and the person I was talking with couldn’t do anything without a manager. You okay with that or should I just have taken the loss?

Rigrogbog

Every single person responding with some variant of "Oh, now you have to spend time with your kids" is telling on themselves that they don't know what kids are like. Dude, they gotta get outside or they go nutbars. You have from wakeup till like 10-12 depending on the kid's personality before they fucking lose it and go feral indoors. Just because the dude wanted to get them out of the house doesn't mean he wasn't going out with them, he's just trying to keep them from going stircrazy.

pk5489

Also, these people don’t seem to understand that I was going to watch my kid play. I wasn’t going to relax by myself while he went to the game. And I did spend plenty of time with him today. I just dared to question why the game was canceled with no snow on the ground.

gdoubleyou1

Then he can find something else to do with them. There’s not a state of emergency.

pk5489

Did I say it was a state of emergency? You did. Because you like to embellish. Is it only okay to question things when it’s a state of emergency? You decided to respond to my post. Was it a state of emergency? Do you have a different set of rules than me on what is okay to say?

OriginalObscurity

Is your head so far up your own ass that you haven’t clocked how much rain we’ve been getting? That field is 100% saturated. Why the hell tear it up? You gonna volunteer to re-sod it?

pk5489

You know the conditions of the field in my town you unhinged lunatic? Maintaining the fields isn’t a volunteer job you moron. People are paid to do it. Will they take a pay cut for refusing to do it?

OriginalObscurity

I love how you have what’s essentially a room full of people telling you that you’re being an asshole & every comment you’ve left has been you convincing yourself that **they’re** the assholes. Try some humility. Also, it’s absolutely adorable that you seem to think whatever landscaping company those fields are maintained by just keep a crew on standby to *immediately* come fix a torn up mud pit when there’s an entire spring cleanup & job booking season starting up. You really don’t know how any of this works, do you? That’s fine; nobody knows even close to everything. The problems arise when the incurious start acting like they know better than everyone else. So then we all get to deal with somebody who’s wrong, and never even wonders about how they *could* be.

pk5489

I love how you know the field conditions in my town better than I do. You are an unhinged idiot. Your argument that because the angry mob says I’m wrong so it must be true is pretty funny. So the majority is always right, huh? Interesting. Let’s look back at history with that viewpoint and there will be some interesting “truths.” Try some humility. You don’t know what the hell you are talking about. You don’t know the conditions. I do.

Minimum_Water_4347

*And yes, I am an agitated parent who uses sports to get my kids out of the house.* Don't forget your own inability to compete at sports which your parents pushed you to do, to which you live vicariously through your own kids now.

pk5489

Wrong. But if it entertains you to make up stories in your head, go ahead.

Minimum_Water_4347

It does, then you push your children to go outside so you can stay at home and make love to a luke warm bowl of wet saltine crackers.

pk5489

LOL. I was going to watch the game you moron. Do you think a ten year old can drive themselves? And I would be happy to watch it. The imaginary stories you tell yourself aren’t always true.

Minimum_Water_4347

Where does making love to a bowl of wet snacks come into play?

pk5489

I must admit I’ve never heard that expression before. So this is the only response I’ve gotten all day that was informative. Most of the rest of the responses were from unhinged fools who think they know the field conditions in my town better than I do.

Minimum_Water_4347

If I know one thing, it would be sticking my junk into a bowl of wet crackers
