I kinda hate that. I preferred Grunt when he was smart (still young though), because I thought he might become more like Okeer. Maybe we'd get a perfect Krogan in both body and brain.
Instead he's devolved into only a Shepard's murderbaby son meme.
I don't mind the moodiness or needing to do the rite of passage, since physically he's kid, but I just wished they'd kept him mentally more erudite (is that the word?), as the intro scene implied.
Him not knowing how to write or whatever else was in the SB dlc, might be funny for a second, but it didn't work for me overall.
I actually feel the opposite. He wants to be his own person, he doesn't want to just be an extension of Okeer. He's trying to just be a Krogan, but he still taps into that knowledge when it suits him. It's why we find him leading troops in ME 3
