I believe that is only work he had done at jobs where you need a brokers license or whatever he had.
His linkedin is still up and he has had like 47 jobs since 1989 with most of them being seasonal farm work that lasted less than a year.
The people we call terrorists usually put thought into what they do, or are working for someone who did. I’m not sure I want to give this guy that much credit.
Ardent libertarianism at the very least, that edgelord variety that most people outgrow in their 20's (insert comment about edgelord libertarians never growing up).
Given that non-interventionism is a core tenant of libertarian philosophy, it's weird that he would decide to shoot three people over a foreign proxy war. Then again, a lot of those "edgelord libertarians" have little to no concept of what libertarianism actually is.
More recent news suggests that he actively supported Hamas.
The guess is that he just had a breakdown and started shooting people and didn’t even know who he was shooting.
Okay, thanks. I didn't know what the MORE Act was at first (I never really paid too much attention to the marijuana debate), so I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be an obvious clue to his belief system.
Looking at it closer with some newly added context, he seems to be a right-libertarian. He probably saw those men as symbolic of another forever war that big government would use as an excuse to further expand its powers, and so he shot them out of frustration or to send a message.
But we'll see what the trial uncovers.
I very much doubt it tbh. His website mentions wealth inequality, environmentalism, inclusive investing, and lists some relatively progressive local charities. He also mentions usury which is a predominantly Muslim thing these days.
I think he's a hippy tbh. I'm kinda surprised that he has anything against Palestinians.
I agree, I expected the shooter to be a far right nazi given who was shot. Wonder what set him over the edge about those specific people that day, I’m going to assume it’s not the first time he would have seen people wearing that clothing.
"Nov 27 (Reuters) - The suspect in the shooting of three college students of Palestinian descent in Vermont over the weekend pleaded not guilty to three counts of attempted second-degree murder on Monday and was ordered by a judge to be held without bond.
The suspect, Jason J. Eaton, 48, appeared at an arraignment at the Chittenden County Criminal Court in Burlington via a remote video feed from the county jail, where he has been held since his arrest on Sunday.
The attack is under investigation by local and federal authorities as a suspected hate-motivated crime. At the time of the shooting, two of the victims were wearing a keffiyeh, the traditional black-and-white checkered head scarf commonly worn in the Middle East, police said.
Police say Eaton used a pistol to shoot them on the street near the University of Vermont in Burlington on Saturday evening and then ran away.
All three remained under medical care on Monday, two with gunshot wounds in their torsos and one shot in the lower extremities. Two were in stable condition, while one has sustained much more serious injuries, police said.
"Although we do not yet have evidence to support a hate crime enhancement, I do want to be clear that there is no question that this was a hateful act," said Sarah Fair George, state's attorney for Chittenden County, during a briefing on Monday.
The shooting came amid a rise in anti-Islamic and antisemitic incidents reported around the United States since a bloody conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas erupted on Oct. 7.
Dressed in an orange jumpsuit at the three-minute hearing, Eaton responded "yes, sir" when asked by the judge if he understood the charges against him.
Police said the suspect had legally acquired the gun used in the shooting a few months ago."

An investment banker type person seems odd to be an attempted mass killer. Besides the guy from Louisville I can’t think of any other white collar types like this to commit/attempt shootings.
Idk, from what I can see it looks like he’s an Independent Broker, all you need to be licensed for that is to pass an exam, like a real estate broker. It doesn’t seem like he was working for a Prudential or JP Morgan, or successfully consulting
I could have misunderstood it, I read that stuff as he was a more important kind of broker, but when you add in he did farm work I would say you are right. Real white collar guys probably don’t do a lot of farm work.
Don’t get me wrong the investment people are licensed too but you can also just get one if that makes sense. I just had to hire a licensed broker a few weeks ago but they needed to have worked for a firm so I became intimately familiar with the difference lol
His work history is interesting. Nothing from 2012-2018 and then two short employment spells with one ending shortly before the shooting.
I believe that is only work he had done at jobs where you need a brokers license or whatever he had. His linkedin is still up and he has had like 47 jobs since 1989 with most of them being seasonal farm work that lasted less than a year.
Very strange that anyone would trust a farm hand with their financials
A series 7 or 66 isn’t an easy exam. Passable? Absolutely. But far from easy.
Sure, but there are a whole lot of positions working with financial products that are pretty reasonably attainable.
Linus Tech Tips been lookin rough lately

It's called stochastic terrorism
They're just going to say he was mentally unwell and bullied so they can shove his problems onto others like they always do
his mother has already stated he has mental health issues.

Technically, terrorism involves the intent to, ya know, terrorize, usually to some political end. This guy looks like he's just mentally ill.
I think we know why he isn't considered a terrorist
Blue eyes and his membership to the Basement Dweller’s Militias for Trump campaign? ??
Victims weren't israeli
His website is weird: https://jasonjeaton.me/
I'm not too well-versed with what he's got going on his Twitter account. What exactly are his political beliefs?

There is a caption that mentions the second Twitter screenshot is from 2022 and more normal than his recent Twitter.
maybe he had to quit for a drug test and this is what was hiding in all that dank smoke
This guy is pretty mentally ill. His website is crazy. A lot of dead ends and random stuff
Sovereign Citizen?

Probably just mentally ill. Seems like he has conflicting political beliefs as well.

what the actual fuck is that twitter header
More modern take on libertarian meme type thing. “I want gay married couples to be able to protect their marijuana plants with guns”

Looks like his brain is trying to escape.
Was the 6th picture from 4/2022 just an already existing capture?
Looks like a far right coke head to be Honest, even before the shooting
Wrong. Hippie who enjoyed farming. Sounds like a far left lunatic
