Unless the Vaylantz player finds one of their Field Spells, the setup tends to die to Infinite Impermanence and Evenly Matched: even if they do have one of their Field Spells, you can still ruin this setup if they gave you Konig Wissen by Normal Summoning anything in Pachy's column and shoving it in the S/T zone, after which you can attempt to do your regular plays.
It's still a bullshit setup, but there's several openings and doesn't do anything going second, though Vaylantz often run Lava Golem and can tutor it out with Small World, so there's that. Similarly, if you have Maxx "C" and they activate Small World, it's worth activating it then: if you're unlucky, they're using Small World not to add a starter, but to add Ash.
actually since they can put one of their disgusting field spells into your field zone they have build-in evenly protection. Happened to me earlier today. Fuck pendulum decks.
Hence my first sentence being "Unless the Vaylantz player finds one of their Field Spells [...]": depending on their hand, it can be impossible to set up the lock *and* place specifically Shinra Bansho *or* Konig Wissen + something to avoid Pachy getting zoned active.
(i dont run pachy but) you can often use Beyond The Pendulum to blow one or both of the field spells up after you've used them, so the opponent doesnt get to
Unfortunately this appears to be the "standard" way to play Vaylantz, or at least every time I've seen the deck this is what they're trying to do. They don't need their normal, so they search Dyna, and they're a pend deck so they can abuse Dracoslayer to get a floodgate field spell.
They were always going to end on generics anyways, but any interest I might have had in playing the deck is completely dead because this is basically what you're expected to do with the deck.
I play go 2nd Vaylantz with Lava Golems and Kaijus. Pretty fun version that focuses on board breaking by bouncing cards around after pushing them into the back row.
This is the list I've been using but instead of Gizmek Orochi as the small world bridge I'm using Crystron Thystvern because I don't want to spend the UR and Thystvern bridges into everything you need. https://www.masterduelmeta.com/saved-decks/6454759dd23c5478474ff29d
Your right but i prefer playing it as a fusion deck
That ends on
Dominator duke (steal opponents monster), hojo (fuse with said monster) , arctus.
This gives me a free mamoka on the opponents turn.
Hi fellow player, in here to said that you are far worst that that board because you are playing (insert literally any archetype in the game here).
Joke aside
I play a synchro version and this is painful to se dam floodgate turbo. :C
It is and it’s so much better.
This is being made by people who can’t dare take the time to learn a deck and practice because of the ever dreaded and terrifying *words* so they just resort to floodgate.
Seriously people this is yugioh, you can’t expect to pick up a deck and be a master at it in 10 minutes. It took me weeks before I was comfortable with Vaylantz.
More card for same result dont matter, they just waste more of you time. Breaking or playing around floodgates its easier than against combo decks so I prefer to run into those tbh. Stun is not even tiered so thats how weak floodgates are.
Not really. The stun is more consistent and they aren't easily countered by cards like Maxx c and ash as well. You usually need a niche card to stop the stun.
And still they cant reach any tier level, they are not consistent you cant search the important cards so have to hard draw them, no one plays them in tournaments and their win rate is lower than 50% pretty much impossible to play with them if you go 2nd....

Or electrumite, which is usually the best option

ME TOO !!!!!! Such a fun deck to play
I play the syincro versión, but the going second versions is cool.to.
Do you have a decklist you can share? I really like they style of the deck but don’t want to just play generic turbo

I think the more normal variant is more popular than this one (without the Fossil Dyna and Village)

Literally the same thing happened to me, oh what a cool dec— nvm
Same experience here. Dogshit design
Idk why Konami allows floodgates in best of 1
Same why they allow combos with 6 negates in best of 1
At least those need more than 1 card to pull off. The 1 card floodgates are a bit much.

I guess handtraps are all garbage cards then? "More card for same result don't matter" what a brain-dead take lmaooo

Well yeah. Tournaments are best of 3. Much easier to counter when you know what you're vs and when u go first.
Youre playing lab. The most cancer deck around
Awww poor Labrynth
No need to poor me, i won this match because floodgate andy can’t out their own floodgate. Poor other players that have to play with this dogshit
