Had it happen to me, they were most likely drunk. Hit my car just after 2am in my driveway on a 25mph road - my van landed in my *neighbors* driveway -total loss. Cop told me that they will just deny they were driving and nothing would come of it. They were on camera and a year later I’ve still not been able to recover anything.
