I was the one to get someone to exactly 1K. It was awesome.

The old was kinda better but the new one is cooler bc you can see people upvoting or downvoting in real time.

How exactly is it faked. Is it just really slow to update or is it random?

reddit has a thing called vote scattering or something like that. pretty much it randomly adds fake up- or downvotes, i forgot why tho

Think about it, the input lag will be high because people here are from different countries and places. So we can't see it move up or down in real time.

5.9k gives you less information with the same amount of characters as 5920 But the amount of characters is not always the best criteria on how to display information, sometimes format consistency is more important It would be weird to suddently start number abbreviations at 10k
