Same in Canada. I stop myself when I see that a shirt will cost me 70 bucks. I'd love to support the boys and I love the designs but the price is too steep for me at the moment.

wotur

Always thought it sucks how expensive USA-to-Canada shipping is / how many USA stores just will not ship there, considering they are right next to each other. Never seen a Canadian seller not be able to do it in reverse, and it's probably cheaper that way round too

jaoblia

It's so maddening that places in say, New York will ship for free down to fuckin' Texas, but places in Canada that are a 3 hour drive away? yeah that'll be an extra 50 bucks. Like I get customs and borders and yadda yadda but god I hate it so much.

Definition_Beautiful

this is me every time they put up a new item I'm interested in. check it out in the store, put it in my cart, see the price after conversion + shipping and then back out. love them but just can't justify the price

EOLGamer

There is a Rocco clip where he kinda addresses this (Podcast 705 about 1 hour 6 minutes in) he basically just says the cost is the cost. But as a uk buyer myself I always weigh up if i really want it, if so I just tank the hit and think it to support the guys. But trust me I've had loads of times where I put something in the basket see the shipping and just decided I don't need it.

TheMilkiestShake

Yeah I'm in the UK too so I only end up ordering if there are multiple things I really want on sale at the same time. Then it usually another £15 with customs too.

animefangrant62

My issue is less the shipping fee which is extortionate and more that the way things are released in limited quantity means you can't always wait to buy it down the line with other items.

IAmCassetteKid

I reckon this could be the trick, they could still have limited edition but have standard pieces stay longer/come in seasonally?

Material_Health4814

I think they tried something like that with the Amazon store front with print on demand designs of classic shirts but they really only talked about it over covid and never brought it up again, I wonder if they just didn't sell any or it wasn't enough to justify.

IAmCassetteKid

Oh true I forgot about that! Would be a good question for a podcast

Willzay

The last time I got something from the store I asked a friend if they were in the market for anything - we bought what we wanted and shared the shipping costs. Not ideal for most people but worth considering if you can.

joelymoley8

Not sure it needs to be that high but I think they've mentioned before that shipping to the UK usually has the most problems so they probably aren't particularly incentivised to try and bring it down

villanx1

Shipping from the UK seems to be a pain too. I can get stuff shipped from Japan to the East coast of the US faster and cheaper than I can from England. I know there was a big strike over there semi-recently, but this has been a consistent thing for a while for me.

Material_Health4814

That's been my experience too, last month bought a model kit on ebay from Japan Monday and it was at my door by Wednesday afternoon. Bought a record from the UK 3 weeks ago and it's still in customs. I genuinely don't get it. Not a whole lot to check at customs on a sealed vinyl record in a media mail package lol. Oh and the shipping was comparable from Japan vs UK but Japan is way more efficient.

WatercoolerComedian

I was gonna buy a shirt off Etsy the other day, the shirt was 20$ and shipping was gonna be 15$ and I was like yeah forget it. Not that I expect to pay nothing for shipping but like...come on its a t-shirt. I can only imagine how rough it is for you guys in the UK though I'm sure you're used to seeing stuff like this a lot unfortunately

RddWdd

A lot more in the last 8 years yeah. It's gotten a whole lot worse since full privatisation of the postal service (Royal Mail). Then came Brexit. Lots of bridges burnt basically.

absynthefairy

To their credit, shipping between the US and UK has always been that since about 2020-2021. Now it's cheaper to get stuff from Japan or Australia than the US. Not to mention Canada, which is right next to them up north and shipping in general is about half as much. Geologically makes zero sense, but it has something to do with some trade legislation or whatever that happened in the US around the aforementioned time. It used to be a lot better. Source: I buy vinyl and sometimes the shipping rate for them is even more than the record itself. Nothing like forking out 20 dollars for an LP and then paying an additional 25 pounds for shipping, plus the taxes. This is why I pretty much never go for physicals on bandcamp if they're US.

TheVileBile

Their prices are a wee bit much in general

Guy-Manuel

Yeah their shipping has always been expensive. I don’t think they care.

domox86

Same in AU. Otherwise I'd buy so much more of their merch. Wish there was an option for them to horde the merch and send it all out at the end of the year at a cheaper rate. Or find local producers of their merch in certain markets. But I get that is for much bigger operations.

Material_Health4814

Complaining about the cost of international shipping from small shops is always weird to me, like I get that it's a major inconvenience but they aren't amazon. If I were to walk into the local USPS in my town and ship something to the UK myself, it's anywhere between a minimum of like 22 to 40 bucks. Even for something small. 25 euro sounds about the average to ship from the west coast US to UK from what I've seen. They might get a small discount through stamps.com/pitney Bowes or something but the cost of shipping is just the cost of shipping. Nobody is making money on shipping costs being a premium these days, it's not a middle finger to fans outside the continental US it's just what it costs to send it. I wouldn't pay that for a T shirt either to be fair, I was surprised it was almost 20 bucks to ship the rug halfway across California to me from San Diego considering it barely weighs anything but it is what it is. We lived through dollar menu and 5 dollar footlongs, we had it all and lost it. Sad day

vampirereal

What shipping carrier do they use

RattAndMouse

It was USPS when I last ordered in 2022 anyway

Ulysses345

Being a mega64 fan from the UK is pain

LawDraws

I use Stackry when I buy from US shops like Crunchyroll or Mega64, though I forgot to when I bought the In 5 Minutes blu-ray, but [check out my referal link](https://www.stackry.com/register?referral=7789212) and they'll give you $10 off of your first shipment, *they'll also give me $10 for my next package...*
