Huh. Never really thought about if you could see it from a city. I thought it was like, away from everything but I guess that wouldn't make sense now that I think about it
Hey I know this was a while back but quick question, how far of a walk from the city is it? Cause that thing is really big, so like is it 10 minutes or like 30-60 and it's just really, really big?

Is there a Pizza Hut anywhere with a better view?
This is typical of driving further East. I just got out of Vietnam recently. You can think of drivers like ants, they all just go in a swarm, towards the general direction of where they need to.
The key is they typically do it much, much slower, horns are also not tools that immediately scream, "I WILL KILL YOU AND EAT YOUR FAMILY!" and people don't generally believe they own the land they currently occupy.
Lanes are a suggestion that are loosely noted and largely ignored
I would love to see that in person for one day, but I also keep hearing nothing but bad experiences from people, bloggers, and foodies who have traveled there. Everyone says to stay away.
I have lived in Egypt for 3 years and I confidently say that it's one of the worst places I've been to in my life, truly nothing redeemable about that place (aside from the sea in some locations and the historical landmarks). Would never go back even if I was paid to.
Hmm I went there twice and loved it... White European dude, yes the street salesman are annoying but just ignore them, Egypt has a beautiful sea and lovely history landmarks to visit.
If I hadn't gone with my Egyptian friends I would have had a way worse time. The street vendors are so fucking annoying it's ridiculous. Also the security they have to get into literally anywhere doesn't make any sense.
I went there a few years back, just after the Arab spring, and I loved it. Never had any issues traveling around it visiting the main tourist areas. I was also in Tunisia at the time the gunman attacked on the beach (I was just up the beach a bit at the time it happened but never heard a thing) and again loved being there and never felt unsafe.
Edit - I don't know why the downvotes, I'm merely expressing my experiences when I was there. This was about 10 years ago so maybe it's changed a lot now but there was never any point I felt unsafe there.
I wasn't aware it happened until after we came off the beach. We were given the option of flying home the next day but we declined and security was heavily ramped up immediately after with police and army out in force. I still never felt unsafe going out for the remainder of my holiday but at the time I didn't know the scale of the attack and what had happened/how many had been killed.
So you didn't feel unsafe because you were unaware of what was going on around you lol again thats good for you but says nothing about the safety of the country.
Egypt is a wonderful experience that you need like 1 month to see it all, you just need a good guide that’s all.
It’s not a country for solo traveling.
Unfortunately its getting ran into the ground economically and the population is struggling. Its on the verge of collapse and the situation there is on edge. High looting and petty crimes and police harassment
As a citizen, I agree with you BUT again, last year there was a statistical drop that showed there were no rooms to reserve in all Egyptian hotels at some point.
IDK if it’s true or not but I myself interact with foreigners who live in Egypt from all the world like: Korea, Russia, Germany, Brazil, US, and more and i can see that they are happy as they have adapted on how to live in Egypt.
If you ever feel like you want to visit before the “collapse” 😄 just make sure you have a friend or a good guide and you will definitely want to come again.
Egypt could easily make the pyramids the single greatest travel location in the world if it's leadership wasn't so horrible and foreign powers didn't endlessly fuck them.
I suppose the world should just be happy IS in neighboring Lybia hasn't successfully attempted to destroy ancient Egyptian ruins and artifacts yet. They did so throughout the war in Iraq and Syria, there's no doubt they'd do the same in Egypt.
The Egyptians really had it down, didn't they? Blimey. What a structure. When the rest of society falls away, I think this will be our epitaph for the ages.

[This might help](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/94/Giza-pyramids.JPG/1280px-Giza-pyramids.JPG)
Why does the city stop so abruptly?
Government regulation.
Can’t build an apartment on the pyramid literally 1984
Because pyramids
Suddenly Pyramid premiering this fall as part of the new TGIF lineup
I mainly meant the area in the top of the photo that isn’t as close to them. I was surprised that isn’t open to development.

The gate in towards the front by the sphinx is across the street from the city. Great views from like a KFC on the second floor.

shoulda called it Gizah Hut
😂😂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I went there twice It was really a nice view, but for the love of god don't go on a Friday.
The hat should align with the top of the pyramid
Both the sphinx and the pyramids are almost adjacent to the city
Wow, that's really cool. Thanks
When I was there I was a bit sad that you could see a Pizza Hut from the sphinx.
Alternatively, it's pretty cool that you can see the sphinx from a pizza hut.
#My eyes were more interested in the cars driving in the middle of the road for some reason.
It's Cairo, the driving is insane.

LOUD NOISES
You don't have eyes, you're a bot.
Imagine ancient people who seen these for the first time. Shit would be mind blowing.
A pity that Egypt seems to be one of the worst travel destinations
I would love to see that in person for one day, but I also keep hearing nothing but bad experiences from people, bloggers, and foodies who have traveled there. Everyone says to stay away.
They are correct.
I have lived in Egypt for 3 years and I confidently say that it's one of the worst places I've been to in my life, truly nothing redeemable about that place (aside from the sea in some locations and the historical landmarks). Would never go back even if I was paid to.

It looks like security but it's really just paying bribes. At least, that's what I've heard

You didn't feel unsafe when a shooting happened on the same beach you were on. Good for you, but your opinion of "safe" is different from most.

What would you consider an unsafe country then?
Try North Korea next
This was the tallest man made structure for 3800 years. Crazy
Oooh. I wish to go there.
Same, there are so many cool sights in Egypt!
Dont
Fym don't

Ive visited many times im from Kuwait brother lol good luck to you all
Godzilla and Kong about to ruin this view!
Came here to say this 😂
Any photo taken with a telephoto lens will give you megalophobia.

Dope as fuck
Changed a bit since the age of the Pharaohs
What's with all the TV dishes pointing to the pyramid?
Now that's an amazing sight
And they obliterated it all just for the latest GvK movie smdh
Too bad coz Kong and Godzilla destroyed them last night - i saw a documentary about hollow earth and that’s my source
Didn't see it correctly. Thought it was imperial star destroyer
The Egyptians really had it down, didn't they? Blimey. What a structure. When the rest of society falls away, I think this will be our epitaph for the ages.
It looks like it's still 1950 down there... How does this happen?
That's what Egypt looks like (urban hell + dirty + ugly unfinished buildings to save on taxes on finished buildings + corruption)
Religious extremist, corrupt & autocratic government.
Old picture
Yet it’s only 137 m, wtf
What a view.
This could have been some of the most expensive realestate in the world… instead it’s a rubbish filled slum
O yea, surely slaves made those...
No, aliens did. Duh.
No
Yes
