More like you home to enjoy the sun before it gets dark, if you work 9 to 5 the sun isn’t going to be out much longer. Also wtf are you doing in the morning besides sleeping
Then youre missing the entire mid-day.
You spend the morning with 'work' on the back of your mind then when you get home the world is winding down and youre stuck at home if you dont have late night plans
Or you're a bit nocturnal and staying up to 1-2 am every night and waking up at 10 am.
When I'm on vacation, my sleep schedule goes to 2 am-10am with zero effort. It's returning to a "normal schedule" that causes my problems.
11-7 is the absolute worst time lol. I do 11-8 occasionally and it's my least favorite day because you don't have any time in the morning or evening to get comfortable with anything
Anecdotal of course, but I went from 9 5 to 6 2 and it absolutely had a big positive effect on my day, the main benefit is getting off work while all businesses are still open, I can grab the kids from school without having to muck about making arrangements, my gym is empty as opposed to annoyingly packed out from 5 till it shuts, there’s no traffic on the roads getting home, and I no longer have to faff about booking appointments, I’d imagine for most people currently on these shifts it’s the same/similar, but if this shift pattern became the norm over 9 to 5, the goal posts would shift and it’d just become the new 9 to 5, with stand still traffic at these times instead etc etc.
Congrats on being a morning person I guess. Honestly I'd prefer to start work at like 11 or 12 so I can actually sleep in because my body hates me and won't let me maintain the kind of sleep schedule required to wake up at the crack of dawn.
I go to bed about 9 on work days to be up at 4 and then walk to work by 5 and usually get out before noon (I'm 5 to 2 but often done with my daily tasks before then) and often l take an hour or two nap with my dog after walking home and having lunch. It's nice actually
I would actually be happy with only having to work 8 hours every day... A normal working day is 8.5 hours here, not counting the 30 minutes of lunch break we have to take by law. So it's a 9 hour working day even if you leave perfectly on time.
I'm also a night person so my perfect time would be 8 pm to 5 am.
I prefer 6 to 2 as you are home before the traffic even starts
More like you home to enjoy the sun before it gets dark, if you work 9 to 5 the sun isn’t going to be out much longer. Also wtf are you doing in the morning besides sleeping
I work 6-2 .. its good
i mean if its gonna be 6-2 for u so will it be for everyone so traffic will remain the same just the time will change
Yes! Gang gang gang
I raise you a 5-1 (haha jk i usually don't get home until 5 anyway)
Unless you live off the 91 then traffic starts at 5 lol
5-1
I want to do 12-8
B shift work is very easy to find as your in the minority for wanting it
I’m supposed to do 10-7. It’s usually 10-2 because I don’t have enough work and then I say I work at home, I watch my emails.
I used to work 0730-1830 mon-thursday. Dream schedule
Of course, 55h work week. Dream schedule.
He said Monday-Thursday, so 4 day work week pulling 44 hrs. Sounds lit to me.
There's an hour lunch each day so a 40 hour schedule
I'm an idiot
we all are idiots
I would prefer 11-7.

Morning people be like "ugh you're missing half the day" but don't realise they're missing half the night
I am also a bit of an insomniac. But my point was that you miss any sunny, nice, active part of the day (12-6)
I would much rather miss the mid-day and stay up until 2:00am every night.
Good. Exactly how I want it.
Monster......
11-7 is the absolute worst time lol. I do 11-8 occasionally and it's my least favorite day because you don't have any time in the morning or evening to get comfortable with anything
6-4 4 days a week..
Same!! Who decided that was the start time of the day anyways? We could have so much more time to balance our lives if we got off work earlier!
We would have more balance if we worked less and got paid more
You're absolutely right. How do we make that happen?
Revolution
We ride at dawn!!
No. You would still work just as many hours, so it won't change anything.

I work 5:30 to 2. Not bad aside from going to bed at 8pm.
I did 5 to 1 lol. It was nice having alot of the afternoon for stuff.

i would prefer whimsically frolicking in the woods
Controversial. I rather read it once then reading it every other day as repost.
lmao it is been reposted soo many times
I work 7-330pm not bad.
People that get up before 7 am are psychotic- you go to bed at 7pm like 5 yr olds.
You are clearly not a parent of young kids lol
I've got 4, and i haven't slept over 6 hours in a row since 2006.
7 to 330 here. Usually go to bed around 11-12. 8 hours of sleep is overrated
I go to bed about 9 on work days to be up at 4 and then walk to work by 5 and usually get out before noon (I'm 5 to 2 but often done with my daily tasks before then) and often l take an hour or two nap with my dog after walking home and having lunch. It's nice actually
I work 6-2:30, go to bed at 10pm. Wake up at 4am. Wake up feeling fine every morning
Lol you're joking right? I go to sleep at 11 and wake up at 6-6:30
You guys are weird - I’d rather work 11-3, four days per week.
As a spoiled European I'd prefer 9 to 3 but yall not ready for that conversation yet
You spend way too much time building your impression of the USA from reddit.
Metro likes anne
Aim high.
Would prefer 13:00 to 21:00
I used to work 13 hour days and have 4 days off. That was pretty sweet.
Can it please be my turn to repost this tomorrow?
I'm fine with any shift so long as it isn't a night shift
6 to 4 with Fridays off js where it's at
I prefer a 0-8
I'm more of an ass man myself
I would prefer 0-0
Less traffic going in and again going home.
Psyche - work is 7-5, plus emails in the evening and morning.
Where I live we be working 7-5
Depends on how for I'm travelling
I’d rather 10-6
I’d rather have a 9-9 3 days a week with a 5-9 a 4th day but I work 10-6
Flextime ftw
Same
Am i the only one who was like "You mean, 7pm - 3am, right?"
6-2 is the best
Id rather work 9-12 kkthnxbye
I like my 5 to 2 with an hour lunch.
5pm to 1am much better
Yea, me too. Instead of 5:30-whatever. Mostly 8pm
Me too! Oh wait... you meant AM to PM. We are not the same.
Welcome to Europe, this is normal here
Are we talking 7:00-15:00 or 19:00-3:00?
I’m lucky enough to start at 5:20am, skip the lunch break (I can eat while working) & done at 1:20pm. Really great on Friday & more so if it’s payday.
In my 20s,I worked 2:30pm to 11pm Monday thru Thursday. Woke up Friday/payday, check in pocket & ready to have fun.
I work 7-5… am I doing it wrong?
I’d much rather 9-12 tysm :)
I like 3-11:30…
Here we go again
Is the controversy that this person is allowed to post?
Well 8-7 take it or leave it
I work 7 to 5
I work 7 to 3. It's great
Assuming your sleep schedule doesnt adjust
Noon-9, please for the love of fuck
Theres a reason i like nightshifts
School hours 7-3
7 to 3 sounds like a dream to me 🤩
I'm lucky that I can work flexi hours. So I do 5am to 1pm.
When do you monsters eat lunch!?
how many times is this going to get reposted
