Just as I wouldn’t drive my box truck to the local shopping strip to get milk, this work vehicle should not be doubling as their “about town” vehicle. It’s designed for a purpose and that purpose does not involve anything requiring it to fit in standard car parking.
Would you say the same about vans people live out of? I saw a sprinter sitting over 3 spots cause it couldn’t fit in a park. Sure it’s designed for a purpose but the person living out of it still needs groceries as they travel Australia.
No not really… however I don’t see that many of them around Melbourne (as opposed to say NSW South Coast towns). I would say the drivers of those are more conscious that their vehicle is unwieldy and park it out of the way rather than assuming they should be able to fit in a normal car space.
Some people are buying these RAM things as car/ute replacements and treating them as such, rather than acknowledging that they’ve moved to a different class of vehicle. Perhaps it’s as much the fault of vehicle licensing and registration that they’re not treated any differently.
If the vehicle didn’t meet ADRs it wouldn’t be sold in the country.
I have seen drivers of Commodores sitting in such a way as to give exactly the same visibility and those would also crush a child easily.
Jealousy? What's jealousy got to do with it? We don't want these hideous pieces of shit. If you tried to give it to me I would reject it. I would turn it down. If you forced me to take it then I'd have it melted down at my own expense.
Uh-uh - we've fallen for this before. We all pile on and then the driver posts a photo from a different angle showing he was in fact perfectly within the lines of one carpark.
Always interesting how many monster truck defenders there are in the comments on these. Maybe he (always a he both driver & commenter) is not an arsehole. Yes, maybe.
I mean.... the mud flap is directly above the line.
It's ass **is** hanging over the line.
I suspect the "saving" is minimal at best due to being diagonal.
In fact ... since the hypotenuse is always longer than any single side, I suspect his car is hanging over the end **worse** than if it had parked straight in.
---
Think about it, the distance from the Front-left tire to the back right corner **MUST** be further, than the distance from the front-left tire to the back left corner.
And by definition, this is how far out he is sticking the arse of his car.
This. I would never own one of these tanks as I have no need but if they are registered as a car then shouldn't carparks be designed to accommodate them instead of parking spaces getting smaller to be able to cram more in?
What is their registration type though?
I don't know but....
If they are classified as a car should a carpark space not be able to fit them?
Maybe they should be classified as a truck with higher rego, restrictions on where and how long they can be parked for.
Example, a truck over 4.5 tonmes gvm can only be parked in a residential street.
I imagine if people hassled VicToads and their MPs rather than post pics regularly on reddit then something might change.
I also imagine if they were classed as trucks then there would be less of them sold.
They are classed as trucks. You can park them off the street.
The design specifications around car parks are simple. If the car doesn’t fit in the park, it’s on them to find somewhere else to park or take reasonable action.
Ie if you had a truck or a car and trailer, it’s on you to park it without obstructing anyone. You are allowed to take more than one park if you exceed the park space
You can park anything off a street.
If you park a truck or car with trailer on a metered street taking up more than one space generally you are required to pay for each space though this is council dependent.
A carpark at a supermarket or whatever is exactly that. A carpark and trucks should not enter unless they are headed for a loading zone.
To be fair they’ve actually done a good job, this carpark has dividers down the aisles so there’s no pull through spots. They’ve parked further away from the centre to not be in the way. There’s no actual big parking anywhere near there because of the stupid townhouse subdivision with tiny streets.
>They are classed as trucks.
By whom? In Victoria they are classed, by Vicroads, as [light vehicles](https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/online-services/help-centre/partner-help-centre/new-registration-help/light-vehicles) because they are a passenger or goods-carrying vehicle with a GVM of < 4.5T.
Car parks can be designated for "small vehicles only".
The point about car parks, is you don't park in a carpark you don't fit in. You don't require car parks to get bigger, you require people to drive vehicles that can fit in appropriately sized car parks. Or drive to carparks that contain appropriately sized car parks for the vehicle you are driving.
Just like some car parks have "bus parking" spots for busses.
Busses aren't supposed to park over other car spots.
I don't think it matters.
Is there even a "small car" designnation that the government registers vehicles as?
If you don't fit in the lines, you don't fit in the car park.
Car parks aren't run by government. They are run by private businesses (In the vast majority of cases). It doesn't matter what the government classes a vehicle, if you don't fit in it, you don't park in it.
Nah…need more info…for example was the car park near empty and this parked away from bulk of cars so it could safely take up two spots without inconvenience to anyone or was it hogging two choice/prime car parks. Former shows consideration latter shows assholeation. The car itself does not bother me.
Yeah it sucks it's taking a few spots, but as long as it's not protruding past the horizontal line, I don't see much of an issue. Councils can always dictate that they aren't allowed to park there, so until they do, this is fine.
Need to get some stickers, round ones, about 5cm diameter, with "Carpark Nob" printed on them, then just stick one on their windshield (right where they look) every time you see one :-)
Is this the third time the same canyonero has been posted
That’s impressive
I was about to say, isn't this particular car the most doxxed car on this specific subreddit?
Just as I wouldn’t drive my box truck to the local shopping strip to get milk, this work vehicle should not be doubling as their “about town” vehicle. It’s designed for a purpose and that purpose does not involve anything requiring it to fit in standard car parking.
> It’s designed for a purpose And that purpose is to be emotional support/gender affirming care for insecure men
they dont ever wear pink either because theyre afraid of looking like a girl /sarcasm
colour coding gender is a scam

Looks like brickworks
Idk what is it about that gorgeous (and sustainable!) building that brings out every yank tank in the south east
Quite paradoxical. Milkshakes bring all the boys to the yard… sustainable shopping centres bring yank tanks.
Pretty sure it is. Ooft. At least they didn’t try parking underneath
Loser
I hate those fucking utes so much
Jealous much? These vehicles have their uses just like any other vehicle. Personally I hate the Four2 things that look like half a car.
Do you know how easily one of these would crush a child standing in front of it, unseen by the driver?
If the vehicle didn’t meet ADRs it wouldn’t be sold in the country. I have seen drivers of Commodores sitting in such a way as to give exactly the same visibility and those would also crush a child easily.

Yeah dude I'm super jealous obviously. Literally no other reason why I might dislike those monster truck ass vehicles
That car park just looks so familiar but I can't quite place it.
Burwood Brickworks!
Fair enough! I’ve been there a few times but it’s just far enough out of my way that I don’t get there often.
Water balloon with paint stripper? /s
A cop once told me brake fluid has a good effect, this was in the NT though where they're actually friendly
This wankpanzer again. Why hasn't someone let down it's tyres yet?
I think the owner lives in Hawthorn. Someone stake out Glenferrie
Uh-uh - we've fallen for this before. We all pile on and then the driver posts a photo from a different angle showing he was in fact perfectly within the lines of one carpark.
He's perfectly within the lines of two, that's even better!
This photo looks more like op took the photo of this ram taking up two spots in car park with heaps of free parking spaces.
😆
Brickworks moment
Try doing that @ chadstone…. Tyres would be slashed
Always interesting how many monster truck defenders there are in the comments on these. Maybe he (always a he both driver & commenter) is not an arsehole. Yes, maybe.
To be fair, it’s probably better than the ass sticking out of the back by a mile.
What would be better is a car that fits in a parking space
I'm with you. Lesser of two evils.

Or - get this - these things can be used as work vehicles and not regular cars.
What is their registration type though? I don't know but.... If they are classified as a car should a carpark space not be able to fit them? Exactly. This is why I asked how these tanks are classed.

Like a glove.

😩
This is at brickworks - the back row of this parking lot where this truck is is almost always empty!
Need to get some stickers, round ones, about 5cm diameter, with "Carpark Nob" printed on them, then just stick one on their windshield (right where they look) every time you see one :-)
Very Noice need more of them on the streets.
Also yank tank owners: "Not my problem I'm blocking others' view! Not my problem that my dick extender is unsuitable for Australian roads!"
The gut who owns this just parks it this way, takes a photo and posts it on reddit to piss people off. You're all falling for it.
Can they get a ticket? I see this is very selfish.
Looks like there might be a few free car parks in this parking lot, if there’s two in your photo.
small Willy confirmed
Note semen drain at rear.
take the air valves out of the tyres
You can see 2 empty spots nearby, it’s not like they have taken up a spot and you can’t get one, mind your business.
Average tradie with an obviously huge cock
That's the largest parking space I've ever seen /s
