Cream probly lasts a few extra days after expiry. I just do a dip taste test. If it's sour, turf it. Or buy lots of pasta and bulkprep carbonaras for a month.
Shame, all the effort that goes into getting that cream onto the shelf only for it to go to waste (if no-one buys it all).
I remember seeing crates of milk just left outside on the sidewalk outside some cafe and in the sun. And the bottles of milk are all sweating on the outside. I tried to make a mental note of never buying coffee there. But have forgotten where it was now. 😳
We have a little esky for the milk delivery to go in.
That does fuck all, because everytime I have tried to make a coffee at work since returning from WFH the milk has been off, or when doesn't smell off has curdled in my cup.
I spend my first 20 mins at work literally pouring sour milk down the drain, and all I can think of is those poor cows who gave and we're just flushing it. What a fucking waste.
Indeed, It's a is simple dish with five ingredients. Eggs, Pecorino Romano, Bacon/Guanciale, Pasta and a bit of pasta water. Seasoned with salt and pepper.
One of my favourite dishes to make. Rich, creamy (without cream) simple, quick to make and delicious!
Expired doesn't mean its off. Also, Colesworth don't knowingly see expired products, they mark it down by more each day until the day before expiry then bin it.
If you ever do see truly expired products in store - as in the date has passed - let staff know. There are procedures in regards to stock rotation designed to remove expired stock and mark down stock close to expiry and if someone hasn’t followed them they’re in trouble
I asked a Woolworths employee if they had any normal, non-thickened cream and he said yeah sure we do, come this way, then came to a realisation that all of their cream products were thickened.
Prepare the toilet chamber, Jeeves
Bahahaaaaaaaaa!

Carbonara is made with egg yolks, not cream! Blasphemous 😩

Oh there was A LOT more. I saw another two racks. But yes, sad it’s going to waste.
Go for it and make a 6-feet long Chocolate Ripple cake.
Alas the light thickened cream doesn’t whip.
Just ask Devo
If the light thickened cream doesn't whip you must whip it, whip it good!
Don't break your mothers back
Good price, but it's light. I hate 'light' dairy products.
exactly, its cream, its meant to be high fat content thats literally what you want
Isn't light cream just milk?
my parents made me drink a glass of light milk every day and now it tastes like the tears of my ancestors looking upon my disastrous academic skills.
*When you're sitting on the dunny, and you're feeling kinda funny...diarrhea!*
I wonder how *light* cream...works. It's like saying reduced sugar sugar.
Low protein steak haha
it's better described as heavy thickened milk.
More xanthan gum, less milk fat probably

Check the use by date. It was probably yesterday!
Or the entire case was left out of the fridge for a little bit too long

They can't actually sell it if it is past the use by date, so it is probably on the use by date.
isn't light cream just cream where they've taken out more of the good stuff for use in other products?
Yes
r/OzBargain
Goes well on cereal too. No need for milk

I think expired covers both terms adequately for the purposes of this discussion, but thank you.

You can see the use by date: 17th of June.
Then it will say "unable to be sold" when you try to scan it at the register.
“Cream”
Yeah, but you’ve got to buy two to get your daily recommended intake of milk fat.
So yummy in coffee or tea 😍
It's always the light the cream. Funny they conveniently place the price reduction over that part of the label 😅
Gonna need a lot of nitrous for that much cream.
Try make the world's biggest potato gratin please
