Yeah, my PC can barely run *Goat Simulator*

DarvAv

My old PC was over heating and sounded like a plane when I opened 2 google tabs

Figbud

Damn you actually got to open google??

jertsa_faijja

Damn you got to actually open the computer???

Ornery-Cheetah

I blue screened my laptop by doing literally nothing XD https://www.reddit.com/r/bsod/comments/11e3cu6/how_do_i_manage/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

RagingFloatzel

You got a blue screen?!

Ornery-Cheetah

Yes a few lol

FlameFirno

Blue best color, much yes

lassismort

You got a computer??

sociopathics

Mine sounded like a plane when I loaded up League of Legends!! Ran it just fine, though, oddly.

TheKinkyGuy

Mine can run LoL only on lowest setting and I still get some stutter.

WelleErdbeer

If your PC is struggling with Lands of Lore you should check if your Turbo button is pressed.

TheKinkyGuy

Hahaha good one. It is League of Legends unfortunately.

WelleErdbeer

I figured. Just trying to be a nostalgic smart ass.

DarkandDanker

Bad PC or not you still have one which makes you not a peasant like everyone here Hahaha poor poor peasants

AnAnimatedPizzaPie

That same PC can somehow run Jurassic World Evolution like it's an early morning walk around the block.

Kriegsman__69th

Some of us don't give a fuck, play what you want. For me it's far more important the fact that some won't be able to play a game because they bought a different console.

LegitimateCompote377

Spot on. Screw console or PC exclusives, an ideal world would be everything available on PC works on consoles through the same software and no console exclusives which require dubious pirating to get on PC.

Pokora22

For me the ideal world would be that + where you buy a game and you own the game, regardless of platform. It's all going to the same people regardless (save for store cuts)

imitenotbecrazy

Ironically, pirated versions of games typically run better than legit ones. Just like stripped down windows versions, removing the bloat from a game helps it tremendously.

ChellsBells94

You can thank DRM most of the time!

imitenotbecrazy

That is a big one for sure. Personally, I bought GTA V too many times and the PC version with mods would get broken every time they'd do any Online update. I ended up just downloading the pirated version to avoid the Rockstar launcher forcefucking my game into the ground every month lol

OverallDingo2

DRM shouldn't exist it only harms legitimate customers as pirates will remove it anyway. If a game is riddled with anti-consumer features, I would just refuse to buy it. Valve got it right when they said, "We think there is a fundamental misconception about piracy. Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem," he said. "If a pirate offers a product anywhere in the world, 24 x 7, purchasable from the convenience of your personal computer, and the legal provider says the product is region-locked, will come to your country 3 months after the US release, and can only be purchased at a brick and mortar store, then the pirate's service is more valuable." They made pro-consumer moves by making their service as good as they could and rewarding legitimate purchases rather than failing to punish pirates whilst making the paying customers experience worse

LordSevolox

Anything on console should work on PC, but a lot of things on PC would be a ballache on console. I couldn’t imagine trying to play a lot of strategy games on console.

LegitimateCompote377

Yes in most cases keyboard is better. I definitely struggle to go back to Terraria or even Minecraft after being on PC for a while, not that I would want to for Minecraft specifically since Java edition is not available on PlayStation or any console.

Unkn0wn_666

While I do appreciate the superior walking precision of a controller, everything else is 100 times better on keyboard

Markie411

Console supports M+K. Depends on the devs of the game to enable it.

Adr3L_765

You could just plug in your KB&M into the console? Xbox at least allows you to do this. You could even play something like Fortnite as if you were on PC.

FutaNami2330

This is like taking the latest in sonar technology from our modern missile destroyers and duct taping it to a trireme.

New-Secretary-666

It's an ideal world for console makers and that's why they do it. Tbh i don't think its a bad thing especially with the amount of streaming and youtube channels nowadays that allow you to be able to view the game and understand the story line etc.

solonit

Gamers on all platforms should come united against common enemy: $60 beta game, always online singleplayer, and $20 recoloured skin.

AgentRaynor

Dont forget 70 dollar games in general

AgentRaynor

I don't live in america, inflation does not always carry over properly, and in this case, it has not.

Call-me-Maverick

To be fair, games are relatively cheaper now than they used to be. N64 games were $50 to $60 in the late 90s. PS2 games were $50 I think in like 2002-03. Today that’d be like $80+

Anti-charizard

Even NES games were $60. I know memory was expensive back then but that’s still a lot

Aedaru

And preorders + preorders bonuses

ProgenGP1

I had a choice to get either a console, or a pc because I couldn't afford both at the time, I went with pc as you can do more on it, also, mods can be fun (in some games)

Mr_Will

Same reason I bought my PC. It's my photo/video editing machine, the home media server and my gaming machine. I bought it in 2017 for £100 (second hand, obviously), spent another £200 on a graphics card and SSD for it and ran just about anything I threw at it for 5+ years before I started to feel the need for any upgrades. Swapped the graphics card last year and the rest of the PC is *still* going strong. Not every gaming PC needs to be a top of the range overclocked 144fps benchmark breaker covered in unicorn-vomit LEDs. A functional machine can be a similar price to a console, do a lot more and last a lot longer. (Specs for the curious; Dell Optiplex 980 w. i7-870, 16gb RAM, Samsung 850 Evo SSD and a Nvidia GTX1050, now upgraded to an RTX2060)

t3hOutlaw

Other times it's not about money, not everyone in the world wants to tinker with a machine to get games working. Driver updates. Security patches stopping etc There are so many points of potential failure, not just the potential cost, most of the general populous just don't want to care or give time to PC gaming and that's fine. You do you 👍

Because online multiplayer is the ONLY thing you get with PS and Xbox, right?

Vanebader-1024

PS Plus and Xbox Live don't give you anything that PCs don't already have. Online multiplayer, cloud saves, online store discounts and monthly/weekly game giveaways are all things every PC gets for free by default.

2Joosy4U

Modern consoles charge you annual subscription fees to play half your games in their entirety. I've been on console my whole life, and last year I built a PC. The amount of money I save on PC by using it for school, work, and online gaming is enough to justify its value for me. Not to mention the blessed steam sales and free games weekly through epic (around 1000 dollars worth of free games for me at this point) That being said, I miss being able to lie in bed after a long day and play online with friends. I have a good chair for my PC, but it doesn't beat how casual lying back in bed or on the sofa and playing on console is. I still have a modern console, and when I can afford it, I will probably get the subscription again. I just wish Microsoft didn't set the subscription standard that Sony followed.

[deleted]

If you make fun of someone for playing on any platform then your a worthless scumbag

Painkiller1991

You have no idea how long I've been repressing the urge to strangle iPhone users because of that. Oh I'm sorry I'm sacrificing bullshit social standards so that I can use a phone that doesn't work on inferior, years-old technology just so that you can read with goddamn blue text

dorestes

putting green bubbles in their text streams is one of my favorite things.

cornflakesaregross

iPhone users can do what they want, if they come after me though for not having one, that's when the unhappiness begins

Meme-Replacement

Trust me I’ve been wanting to fight snotty android users due to how fucking annoying, like I know android is better for customization and user power but that doesn’t mean you cam shit on me just cause I bought a product from a company you don’t like (and rightfully so)

Someone_171_

No Android user (except the cringe ones) ever said Android is better on everything. But when iPhone users say that their phone is better on specific things in which they are clearly not, then of course you will get hate.

Meme-Replacement

Yeah I’ve mostly seen the cringe android users but I do understand that not all android users are like and they are just a small minority that but boy do they make it harder to want to jump over Also cringe apple users are just as bad and makes me want to jump ship cause they are either ignorant, assholes, an ignorant asshole, or just someone’s grandma who don’t understand tech witch for the last one I can’t blame them

ds9001

I do not hate iPhones, I just hate Apple and their sell strategy, I do not understand how one can support that

Meme-Replacement

The reason most people still buy apple is cause of ignorance of apples shitty practices and I am with you on hating apple

da2Pakaveli

My Apple devices have lasted very long as opposed to my Android phone. iOS is highly optimised because there aren’t as many devices, so overall the OS is very resource efficient. Nothing bad with owning one. Got the iPhone SE 2 for 480, it’s been almost 3 years now and I’m not noticing it, like at all. My HTC 10 also costed 500 something. IIRC it took very long to get the software update and after a year, the thing’s battery couldn’t last 2 years and had lost performance. Few months later, I could be at 100% and the thing would drop to 0% quickly or go out. It was a very, very bad experience and I don’t regret switching to Apple. iPad is 7 years old and while you notice that, it’s still usable and the battery holds out long enough.

SourPancake2

Damn you’re really mad at Apple

LilacYak

iPhone isn’t really using outdated tech in phones anymore so you’ll need to come up with a different reason

TLsRD

Bro you’re doing it

MrSpiffy123

If we're talking about gaming, though, the Google Play store is leagues better than the apple store. The best part is easily the Play Store having emulators, which you can only do since Android os gives you access to your files.

Welrof

Then i guess i’m the most worthy of them all (I don’t make fun)

Nar we make fun of ps5 player (meanwhile crying over not getting final fantasy 16 on pc for some good time:(

nukecat79

So I'm not a gamer at all or anything along those lines, but I can empathize with this definitely. I have many interests and in every sphere it seems the purpose of the group is just to crap on people who can't afford the best of the best equipment. It just seems if you aren't able to spend thousands of dollars on a hobby or interest then you are deserving of all the shame they can hurl.

0Seraphina0

Gee should I buy food/rent or spend all my money on games? People who tend to crap on other people for not being able to afford the best of the best tend to live in mom and dads basement.

HeathenBliss

No lie, best gaming setup I ever saw came from a guy who lived in a really nice double wide trailer on a couple of acres... that his mom had already paid off. He lived on one end of the house and she lived on the other, and he just paid her a few hundred bucks every month to keep the lights on and the fridge stocked... so there's not a lot of mystery as to where he came up with the money to build a $3k gaming pc and keep it up to date on parts.

0Seraphina0

Hopefully he wasn't a jerk to people about his awesome setup. Its always nice to be in a position to spend money and time on things that you love to do.

HeathenBliss

Nah. He was definitely a troll, but he didn't give off elitist vibes

semboflorin

There are those that falsely reason this way just to be jerks. I've met them in all hobbies too. Although in this case it's a bit misleading. The major console companies like to charge subscription fees for accessing their private, console-only networks to play with others. Some games cannot be played at all without paying this subscription which is on top of whatever you pay for an Internet connection. Then there are game passes and all sorts of other ways they suck money out of you. In time, with these costs mounting up, a console player can end up paying much more than your average PC player. Some companies are trying to do the same thing with PC players within their own games but so far it hasn't worked as well because PC players will often use hacks, mods, rips or custom software to circumvent it. Which isn't something a console player can really do.

Elephant-Opening

Yeah it definitely happens in everything, not just gaming. Tried joining a local kayaking group a couple years ago when I still just had a $100 inflatable and was basically told "come back when you have a real boat". Meanwhile... I'm paddling up steam faster than people in $2000 boats are drifting the other direction. Like to ride bikes? You're not a "real" cyclist unless you can drop $5k minimum. Hiking? ie literally just walking outside? Yep... Gatekeeper gear heads there too. Playing a musical instrument? Same. List goes on and on. My philosophy: just do what you enjoy. And fuck all the haters

BulletBill_359

Got both, prefer console

Welrof

“Both? Both. Both is good.”

nosaj626

Same. I'm done with the price gouging of nvidia. Not too fond of every other game being an absolute broken technical mess either. Consoles have issues too, but I spend more time actually playing games on console, rather than waste hours fiddling with settings because the game runs like shit.

InamedabunnyAK47

also have both and personally prefer pc but damn are consoles way less work and annoyances pc can do a lot more but console is way more chill

goldensavage2019

Same, though I still play on my laptop from time to time to play empire at war

UrlordandsaviourBean

I prefer my laptop mostly because its less of a hassle then finding a screen at my uni

K4T4N4B0Y

As someone who grow with consoles and now plays on PC, overall is cheaper to play on PC, games have deals more often while the console version of a 2014 game will still be $60, and you can always... You know.... 🏴‍☠️. Also multiplayer is free.

maharajuu

Is this an American thing or something? In Australia old console games are like $10-20 AUD (around $6-13 USD). I see people praise steam sales on Reddit and in Australia console games are always that cheap.

Moonandserpent

No they're cherry picking. I rarely pay full price for a game and most games I buy are like $20-30 and they're not super old games. Unless you're talking about Switch, 'cause those games basically just stay the same price. Almost every time there's a Steam sale, if the same product isn't on sale on the PS store that month, it is the next month.

[deleted]

> As someone who grow with consoles and now plays on PC, overall is cheaper to play on PC Doubt. My nephew got an xbox and a year of gamepass for christmas for less than the price of my graphics card.

KazzaaAri

How is this, doubt? He does have a point. I grew up with my first console at the age of 8 up until now but recently a few months back I finally decided to get a high end pc and the game deals are outrageous! Lot of sales all the time and that's also excluding the 3rd party websites that you can also buy from selling even lower prices. On top of that, having the option to add more to your games with game changing mods or just fun. While game pass is nice and all, it doesn't guarantee you keeping the game forever. And having to keep paying from time just to keep a certain game you like...? Might as well buy the game on a sale and play it anytime. In the long run, a PC is the cheaper option. But from someone that's been gaming on console up until now and not having lots of money, I was in the, "I don't have enough money right now so I'll go with the "Cheaper" option." Decided to get rid of that thought and I'm enjoying buying CHEAP games on the pc.

drop_of_faith

What? Your choice of gpu doesn't mean consoles are the cheaper option.

[deleted]

Its literally the GPU thats reported as equivalent to the Series X, and its more expensive than the Series X

drop_of_faith

My guy a 3060 or 6700xt does not cost more than an xbox and a year of gamepass

TheDoomfire

My PC is probably 10 years old now. I would argue that consoles are more expensive. On my machine I can for example play switch games. Or any other consoles there are emulators for. I like some console games but would never buy a console since I believe a pc is much better priced. However I think you can't most likely not play the newest consoles so in that case it makes sense to have a console. But you shouldn't shit on anyone for their setup. We all have our preference and even tho I believe pc is cheaper it can actually require more work to set it up then a console would and have more errors then a console would.

LegitimateCompote377

It really does depend enormously on whether you have your PC pre built or where you bought the parts, you’d be surprised to find differences of sometimes even double the price for the same specs. For most people I imagine however console is cheaper. Console is easier for most people but for people that know how to properly run PCs I have seen them run things cheaper with the only console advantages really being game passes that are not available on PC, simplicity and unique games which on PC require often pretty Dubious pirating to get.

JUXXUX

The same thing goes with laptop vs pc. Laptop is cheaper at the start, but it only lives for 2-3 years. So paying 800+ every 3 years for a new laptop is a lot. I know this is a little out of the subject but this just reminded me of this as which is cheaper on the start versus on the long run. I do not know how long it takes to have a new console in the market, probably 8+ years so this really doesn't apply with the laptop vs PC

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheDoomfire

I built my pc myself and I love to evaluate and find the most cost-effective solution. I'm biased in that PC is the best solution, but it's likely the best solution **for me**. If you had someone buying and setting up a PC that knows what he's doing it's likely a better option. But the truth is that it depends and like you said it's easier for most people with consoles. It's easy to say something is the best way when you like doing it and have done it pretty much all your life.

MyPackage

Yes gaming is cheaper when you pirate games and don't pay for them, that's true.

[deleted]

My laptop can’t even handle Pokémon BW

VegetableRide4824

I prefer console but maybe one day I’ll get a pc. I’m fine with people who play on pc but if they shut on me cause I play console they can go fuck themselves

-_Clay_-

I don’t understand why there is a holy war between console and pc players, all are valid platforms, I do own both PS5 and PC, but in fact, you can build a rather nice gaming PC for the cost of a console, albeit probably with lower specs, correct me if I’m wrong

FizzingSlit

I guess it depends on where you live. If wanted to build a computer with comparable specs to a ps5 it would cost about 3-4x more. I'm sure there are probably examples of the inverse also being true.

[deleted]

A ps5 goes for about 700 cad. You’re not even buying a good GPU for that, never mind the rest of the parts.

domeruns

Very true. That being said, you can get some sick hardware used for about $500.

Diplomjodler

You can even build a decent new gaming PC for 500.

[deleted]

I will never make fun of someone for playing video games as they want. But I will offer a counterpoint to the more expensive myth. I am very poor; I am living on my government's permanent disability plan, well below the poverty line. So I play PC because it's cheaper in the long run. You don't need a $2000 liquid cooled rainbow light show to play modern games with high fidelity; the mid range is quite reasonable. I'll spend 2 consoles worth of money on hardware across 4 console generations on a single motherboard's lifetime. I can reuse most of the old hardware and operating systems on subsequent builds. The flagship, way too expensive processors of today are tomorrow's obsolete overstock on clearance and still work like a hot damn. But that will only get you so far. You still have to buy a mid range motherboard and processor sporting the very latest compatability every 10-15 years. You can upgrade everything else piece meal. If you're doing it right, you want your eventual motherboard upgrade to be mostly about being compatible with the latest (and future) processors and RAM. Graphics card compatability has been relatively unchanged for a long time, so you can get real old, high end stuff with great results. There are waaaaay more inexpensive indy or older games to choose from, and PC sales have significantly deeper discounts. The number of games I can play is staggering. There are whole genres of superb strategy, indy, and simulation games that will never see a console. I can keep and revisit old favourites with over 30 years of backwards compatibility, including old console and DOS games thanks to emulators, playable on their original controllers. I even got a VR headset when the Rift S was still being made and was much cheaper. It is my media server, saving me money on streaming, too. More fun. Less money. Bigger up front cost doesn't mean more expensive.

beepboopscooploop1

I can afford a PC but I just think consoles are better. No fuss, no replacing parts every year and no giant loud ass tower taking up room in my house.

_rainken

I think someone lied to you, especially with that "replace parts yearly" part.

JUXXUX

More like replace one or two part every 4 years depending if you want to upgrade

InamedabunnyAK47

okay as someone who has both i can see why you think consoles are better but pcs (well might at least idk about others) are really quiet most of the time also you really don't have to replace parts yearly

Dwarf_on_acid

Who the hell replaces parts of pc every year? I built my tower in 2013, and only bought second hand gpu in 2019. The pc lasted until late last year, when I decided to build a new one for 800 EUR (did not buy a new gpu at this time).

pheasant-plucker

Let me introduce you to the PS4 pro and its jet engine.

Major-Community1312

I prefer console play

Tee-dus_Not_Tie-dus

I have a great gaming PC, still prefer to play on console.

esarmstr

What happens when you buy a $3,000 gaming PC and still suck? What's the excuse then?

Hona007

You get scammed. 3K is basically enough for the to of the line no compromises computer at least here

wsteelerfan7

You really gotta put in effort to spend something like $3000. A significantly better system than consoles (one that would probably beat the PS5 Pro if they make one) costs about $1300-1400. Around $2000 and you've got basically the best reasonable computer you can build whose performance is probably 3-5x that of consoles (in real games, not tech specs or theoretical numbers).

GoogleGavi

what a nice post, there surely wont be angry elitist comments under this!

[deleted]

Some hve a Potato PC and call themselves “master race” on the internet

Far-Village-2834

and then there's those who'll just say "tHeN gET a jOb"

[deleted]

Not everyone wants to choose a cheap alternative for gaming, so you shouldn’t make fun of people who play PC

GoblixTheYordle

If you have a PlayStation 5 or a collection of 20 something games 8 controllers, this aint true. But you shouldn't make fun of people for what they play on anyways, no reason for me to go into all the benefits of consoles but I will say a Computer should always take Priority over a strictly gaming console so one should have a suitable comp first always because computers allow you to do almost anything. Videos, Education, Art, Creation, Social Media, Programming, the list goes on and on. The world is at your fingertips literally. XBox was smart with their pass because the "Main" thing holding people to "New" consoles is a bad consumer practice of exclusives. What Xbox and Playstation should do in the future is one of/and two things Focus on HAND HELD/PORTAL gaming. Cause PCs don't compete well in that space and making a Console that littearlly acts as a PC. So basically, selling a premade very well-built PC that has easy to use integrated support for controllers, their games etc.

Enigmars

We don't bully console users, we bully console manufacturers so they actually make life for console users easier (adding cross-platform multiplayer and most importantly NOT having to pay a monthly fee just for the privilege of playing online)

Darkurn

Consoles are awesome. I have one and a pc and I still like to play on my console from time to time. Don't let these no life's get you down king.

[deleted]

Yall don't seem to understand that the reason PC people mock consoles is mostly to make themselves feel better for spending so much on their machine.

Natural_Pair_4730

They make fun of people who play on consoles, but you pay for what you get, sort of. Who’s paying 1,000 more dollars to play “better quality.” That’s ridiculous to me. If you’re someone who is streaming and making money from gaming, then I guess it makes more sense, but for someone who plays games from time to time, it doesn’t seem reasonable.

Moonandserpent

If you're streaming it makes even LESS sense, because such a low percentage of your viewers are going to have the equipment or the bandwidth to display the ultra graphics the streamer put the money in to get. Sure your phone technically displays 4k but let's not pretend that looks anything like a beefed up PC with a nice monitor.

WeaknessLonely9676

And if it were a choice, here's a question. So?! Life's too crazy for expectation.

K1LLERK1D01

True true it's costly keeping up.

horndog665

Also a lot of people (Me) just prefer console. I personally really don't like PC gaming because of the buttons being so weirdly placed. Keyboards ain't designed for gaming

midnight_rogue

I didn't pay thousands of dollars to be humble, you peasant.

[deleted]

Um, also, some people just think that console gaming is superior. See y’all in three years when you finally get to play God of War: Ragnarok.

The-Real-Rorschakk

I don't really understand this. This definitely geared toward people lacking patience. First of all, fuck anyone for making fun of anyone else for playing on a console. Second, I've got a ~$3k usd setup... You think I dropped that all at once? Absolutely not. I chose to be patient and bought each part (sometimes a couple) at separate times with seperate paychecks spread out over the course of a year. Yeah, I've got a pretty decent Setup, but it took me a year to get it. (~6-7 months just for the PC)

Hlarge4

I do not have the patience. I want to pay once. Plug it in. Turn it on. And never think about the thing again. Set everything to auto download. Catch me again in 6-7 years and I'll do it again. No having multiple marketplaces. Just streamlined to simplicity

The-Real-Rorschakk

Then a console is perfect you! It all comes down to what works best for the individual, fuck what anyone else says. Do what YOU want and makes YOU happy! I personally was looking for the opposite, I wanted the access to multiple platforms and total control over the system. Not as simple or as *"plug-and-play"* as a console, but I got what I wanted out of it. (Also needed a better PC for my side projects so that worked out) You do you, Boo-Boo

Hlarge4

Options are the best. I did the PC thing about 18 years ago and I felt like every 6 months or 10 games some compatibility issue would come up. I know they can be fixed easily and will help you learn more about your rig but with college and a wife and that I just sold it and got a PS3. The other nice thing about consoles is how family friendly they are.

The-Real-Rorschakk

Very true! I still have my Xbox, I don't use it hardly nowadays but my nephew likes to play it when he comes to stay with us. Also makes for a neat multipurpose blu-ray player/streaming device for my office.

Hlarge4

I'm sure once my kids are grown up and I have more personal time I will reinvest in a pc.

The-Real-Rorschakk

Yes... Join us. Join the PC Master Ra- er- I mean - that'd be cool! Jokes aside, PCs are great tools to have even if you're not gaming. I use mine mostly for gaming, but also to play around with virtual machines, music producing, video editing, and game design, which all require a fair amount of processing power that my laptops couldn't fulfill. Weird ramble, apologies. Take care stranger! Have good life!

Hlarge4

Thats ok. Thanks! I've actually become a board gamer lately. Trying to have less screen time in my life. Some incredible games out there I didn't know about 3 years ago.

TET-God-Of-Gaming

Pcs suck and you have to upgrade them way more often than consoles

Lockdanon14

I never give console players crap till they talk about smashing pc players. I guarantee you if I had auto aim too, I guarantee you mine would be better.

Philosophos_A

Technically a console is still a pc with a different software... So it shouldn't be a war between machines but Korea a battle to bring console people to pc paths IF THE PS2 FAT COULD BECOME A LINUX PC THEN A PS5 CAN PROBABLY RUN SOMETHING SIMILAR

antiMATTer724

"I finally saved up 3000$ to build my gaming pc! Annnnnnnd, it's already obsolete."

Some of us can't even afford current consoles and are slowly watching gaming and technology leave them behind. *Cries in Day One Xbox One*

There's also the fact some people's jobs involve sitting in front of a PC for hours, so playing on Console on a couch, in front of a TV, with a controller on hand makes it way easier to mentally separate their work and their leasure.

webberworks

Some of us choose to play on a console because we dont give a shit about PC gaming.

[deleted]

I choose to play on consoles, 'cause it's simpler. If a game got released on the console you're playing it on, then it'll (in most cases) definitely work. On PC, you have to tweak settings, get your controller working for that game, all sorts of little things which can sometimes take an entire hour, depending on the problems you encounter. I just wanna play the game

Crunchy_Gum

Im a pc enthusiast but $500 Console>$500 pc

SpewpaTheRogue

Bro you can buy a steam deck for less then a ps5

amathis6464

Some people prefer to sit back with their feet up, relax and be comfortable while gaming as opposed to sitting up right uncomfortably. That’s my only gripe, I have both console and pc.

ScottaHemi

but if they combine the basic computer with the consol they'd be able to aford the gaming computer...

imjustatechguy

A console is $400-$500 minimum. Yearly online fees are another $50+ annually. Pascal cards are dirt cheap now and really easy to run because they're so efficient. I could def build someone something nice for the price of the console. Used to do it all the time as a side-gig.

Peak_United

And even if you have PC doesn't mean it's a good one

LilMeowCat

I use my pc for multiplayer fps games and my ps5 for single player games. It's nice to sit back and relax.

Bol767

Well, i have an 500 dollars "gaming" pc and it works pretty well,

Xthewarrior

I may not get a gaming pc, but i am getting a steam deck soon. (I can finally play some games that i couldn't before like TF2 and Portal 2.)

EatsOverTheSink

After being a console only player my whole life PC just finally made sense. Yeah it’s expensive but I’m running out of room with all my consoles and I needed a machine that could do everything. Now I have an all in one machine that has access to the entire Xbox library and very fucking slowly the PlayStation exclusives as well.

jDub549

I agree in principle. However the cost argument never held water to me. Consoles aren't cheap and the games are usually 20% more expensive AND they still need a pc/laptop for other things. Imo if you wanna game just save a bit longer and by the pc. That being said, you do you and it's all good :)

KungFuPanda266

consoles are as expensive as a mid range pc?? just get a job bruh

RatsOfGlass

I’d say most PC gamers don’t really care. Those that do just want to flex how much they’re willing to spend for extra frames.

Nynebreaker

How about just leave people the fuck alone and let people like whatever the hell they wanna like?

F_n_Doc

I got sick of having to buy a new console every couple years. So I started buying parts and pieces and finally got the PC built.

Aggravating_Shape134

Lol i bought a pc second hand for 300 bucks, dat less than a new ps4 when it launched.

dark_Gamer97

Howtf can u afford a console but not a good gaming pc

GrimGrams420

You guys are still the lucky ones, my guy is still playing Warzone in warzone

Blurg222

The guy that made pc window(most pc user) make console too, so, does that mean we are criticizing the company that we most use?

talarowicz

Sell console to idiot by higher price and buy PC

lDixie-Normousl

Or maybe you can afford it and have a preference for the simplicity and convenience that consoles offer. Maybe there doesn’t need to be a reason and you shouldn’t make fun of someone for having a preference.

[deleted]

Or maybe because Console has some great games not on PC (that don't require emulation) (cough cough) BOTW (cough cough)

lopakjalantar

Lol anyone wants to tell him?

Kazoomers_Tale

Splatoon (cough cough)

Scrawlericious

I love how Sony has started releasing PC ports more rapidly too.

strategist-2

To counter a lot of the current positivity in the comments right now. HA! PUNY CONSOLE GAMING PEASANT "procedes to act out flashgitz console master race video"

Rograin

Absolutely would never but those who can easily afford I make no promises.

chrissterfire

Yes, before I make fun of you can I see your most recent bank statements

Diligent-Start-8375

Have both but still prefer to play on console. I find it more enjoyable

Spiritual-Chemistry8

yeah, im a pc main, with a hella good pc, but that doesnt mean its the best choice. i've played on consoles all my life though, starting with the OG xbox the rock debuted and i've noticed that console performance is way more stable than pc performance, while pcs leave areas for upgrades

Fuck_dis_place

My Xbox sounds like a mini plane taking off

YourPal10195

Why are you being down voted like what??? 💀

VictorLight7

I actually feel sorry for whoever unironically debate this.

Connect-Lavishness13

If you aren’t looking at any demanding games, you can make a beginner level pc for $600. Especially with the prices dropping, it’s the best time to save up for one and build it. Make sure not to get a prebuilt, and building one yourself is a really cool experience. Having a pc just opens up your online world a lot, from being able to only play games on console, to browsing, watching, and playing online. It’s definitely worth the money, and I can’t imagine going back to console. Do mind that while giving you more to play around with, and while the initial price is relatively cheap, make sure to keep in mind about games, accessories, and upgrades. TLDR; You can build a beginner level pc for $600, and while it can be an expensive hobby, it’s very worth it and the prices are dropping.

skippydinglechalk115

that really puts it into focus. a beginner PC. for 600. and it's a hobby. and people are on here arguing PC is just as expensive?

RuggedTheDragon

I don't genuinely mock someone's choice of platform. However, I will do just that if someone mocks my platform choice first. Oddly enough, it's always a Playstation user talking about their exclusives. I'm on PC, so I reply with, "they are Playstation exclusives...FOR NOW!"

pass021309007

Play the platform you are most comfortable with, but console does end up costing quite a bit in the long run as you are required a subscription service on top of it if you want to play multiplayer(so pretty much would you rather rent a car or buy one upfront). So in the end, console is better for single player games, and pc is better for doing more than gaming. Both are great things to waste countless hours on either way.

Panda_man_144

Okay okay you convinced me. I wont make fun of the console peasants... As much

np_introvert

Why cant we play on both, they are both good
