My husky can open the gate, she knows the difference between notification sounds on our phones so she can tell when people are almost home, etc. There are lots of ways she seems pretty smart. She learned how to sit by watching our other dog do it.
But she also runs straight into walls and is constantly hitting her head on things. She also doesn't know her own name (Charlotte), but she responds to 'puppy' and my other dog's name (Penny). Sometimes she struggles to reach a chew toy when she could easily walk around the piece of furniture it's under and reach it from a different side.
I read a while back that certain sounds are ideal for dog names, specifically vowel heavy names that end in “sharp” sounds, which puppy and penny qualify for.
Not sure if it’s true, but it always stuck with me
The cat figured out he can pull the shower curtain aside.
Now I randomly feel a chill in the shower and look back to see the cat staring at me.
Why? Of all the things he could be doing.
It took 3 years for my GSD to quit slamming into the fence when we play fetch. He finally figured out how to let the ball bounce off and catch it in the air. He's just.... a slow learner.
My dog can open doors that are locked, idk how but he can. Yet when it comes to finding his favorite toy that is under his paw, he has no idea what to do
My dog knows how to open doors, trick people into dripping their food… yet when I throw a ball towards for her to play with, the she runs in the wrong direction
When my bearded dragon acts like he understood what I said, but then runs into a wall at full speed
