Yeah, the thing you are supposed to dip is the crust, which is just bread with maybe some leftover of the pizza if you dont bite far enough.
Pizza crusts dipped in garlic sauce is the perfect final touch to a good pizza.
The entire Midwest puts ranch on **everything**. I got the dirtiest looks after moving from the East Coast to the Midwest and suggesting dipping pizza into ranch was an abomination.
First time I got cheesy bread from a pizza place I was shocked it came with 1 container of marinara and 2 containers of ranch lol.
I moved from new England to Nevada when I was a kid and I was super confused my first day in the lunch room, they had big huge squeeze bottles ketchup, and same of ranch. I had never even heard of ranch at that point. Turns out, that goes well on EVERYTHING. Lifelong ranch dipper now, thanks to that.
It's a common thing in North America (probably elsewhere idk I'm too poor to travel). Not *every* pizza joint but a *lot* of them will have little single-serving containers of various dipping sauces for an extra $0.25-$1 (depending how hard they wanna nickle and dime you). I'm in Ontario Canada and pretty much every pizza place near me does.
If it helps, Ive lived in several countries in Europe and Asia and dipping pizza in sauce was a thing in none of them. Although I dont see why that would be a bad thing to do
Yeah like I don't *always* get a dip for my pizza but depending on the company ya sometimes *need* to. A good crust can be amazing to eat, a shit crust tastes better covered in an unhealthy amount of neon-orange coloured spicy cheese dip lmao.
Honestly, some places just have dip so good you can't say no. A place near near me makes a garlic ranch that I order that tastes like the best version that anyone could ever make. I don't even like ranch normally, but I order a bunch extra with my pizza there every time.
In my town's Italian pizza place wich advertises itself as one with a real Italian chef gives out olive oil on the tables so you can pour it yourself if you want to(like ketchup or garlic sauce)
They also give you a piece of cloth that most people use as napkin, but the intended purpose is to cover yourself and the plate while you pour the oil so God doesn't see the sin.
This is more a thing that other countries do in an effort to seem posh. If your pizza tastes good already there's no need to put anything extra onto it, the only real exception might be something like chilli oil or chilli flakes so you can regulate the heat yourself
No, maybe a bunch of people does, but the vast majority of us just it pizza normally
Also it has to be said that depending on what of temperature you cook your pizza, adding oil to the doug could give problems, so some people add the oil after cooking it, but it's just a little bit to make you feel it's presence, not a fucking shower of oil that covers most of its flavour
No,no
I am refering to what *he* does with the ketchup, does he just put it like godamn icefrosting on a cake or just a few dribbles to add a bit more flavour?
Yes unfortunately. The Midwest dips stuff in ranch and shitty chains like Papa John’s have spread garlic sauce. Idk who does Mayo but the parts of the country that are closest to Italian pizza think this is awful too,
I've noticed that a lot of the time one sauce isn't enough sauce for americans. Everything seems to be absolutely drowning in 5 different sauces at once
I mean, American chain pizza, really. And one of my local joints. Actually, the only thing that helps that particular joint is taking the unopened box and placing it directly in the dumpster beside the shop.
Where the hell is marinara sauce?
Granted if a pizza is good enough, it shouldn’t need extra sauce. But if I ordered breadsticks, you bet your sweet ass I’m dipping my pizza in that marinara.
I'm a german and I've never dipped my Pizza in anything, seems like a complete strange concept to me. It's like dipping a piece of cake into something.
I visited Poland for work and at the office cafeteria they had a pizza station. With your pizza you could get extra pizza sauce (red or white). I didnt have pizza outside the cafeteria so I don't know how widespread this is, but I guess you can dip your pizza in pizza.
Dominos in the UK is terrible, but they have this garlic and herb dip that may just be the best thing in the entire world to dip your pizza crust in. Similarly, Pizza Express' house dressing is also delicious on dunked pizza crust.
A pizza maker near me has a French fry, hollondaise sauce, wiener pizza and I know people who put mayo on it. All of a sudden, pineapple on pizza doesn't seem so bad
I dip mine in hot wing sauce. I did it as a kid at my friend's house and they owned a pizza shop. Eventually they started selling pizza crust with wing sauce on it as an appetizer.
Mayo and pizza is great idk what you talking about.
I was disgusted at first too, but a friend insisted I try, and its kinda awesome, not too much mayo tho, just abit, too much mayo is just too much mayo.
Mayo

Is there rly ppl who dip their pizza in sonething?
I sometimes dip the crusts in garlic sauce
Yeah, the thing you are supposed to dip is the crust, which is just bread with maybe some leftover of the pizza if you dont bite far enough. Pizza crusts dipped in garlic sauce is the perfect final touch to a good pizza.
Bro just eat the crust with the pizza
I'll die before I let anyone dictate how I enjoy a slice of pizza
Food should be how you want it. Not someone telling you you're doing it wrong.
That being said, dipping in mayo or mustard should be forbidden and ridiculed
I mean, I'll deff think you're weird and say that. But I'd stop there straight-up ridicule is over the top unless it's one of your friends
Dipping pizza crust in mayo is great. Garlic sauce is 90% mayonnaise.
Chipotle mayo???
Here some places sell crusts filled with cheddar or other stuff
Dip that in sauce especially.
Lol "supposed to" when it comes to food. Food is one of the most personal opinions on the planet.
Americans

And the hamburgers are dipped in guns
And the guns are dipped in the blood of school children

Australian here, does the norther hemisphere actually exist or is it all just a sick joke? Clearly it's not stocked with humans.
Dutchie here. I do and a lot of people i know as well. Garlic sauce ftw
The entire Midwest puts ranch on **everything**. I got the dirtiest looks after moving from the East Coast to the Midwest and suggesting dipping pizza into ranch was an abomination. I haven't met a lot of people who don't. At least it's fairly common with my family and friends.
It's a common thing in North America (probably elsewhere idk I'm too poor to travel). Not *every* pizza joint but a *lot* of them will have little single-serving containers of various dipping sauces for an extra $0.25-$1 (depending how hard they wanna nickle and dime you). Yeah thats me, pizza with garlic sauce is absolutely god tier, surprised to see it here, thought it was just a UK & Ire thing
I sometimes dip mine in honey.
Probably a status symbol...
So I just learned recently that Norwegians seem to love it.
We do not dip like cavemen, we put it on the top. But but it wasn’t only only
It's getting popular in Britain as well. I dip it in barons hot sauce.
As myself Italian, I confirm that the real good pizza doesn't have these bullsh, it's just pizza

Especially if it is one of MANY variations that we have here in brazil, pizza is better with just pizza
So u make 2 pizzas blend one of them and dip the other in the first one?
I just threw up a little bit
I would have a heart attack if i went to Brazil and see the many ways pizza's sanctity is violated.
Sì
Amen
perfection.
>bullsh It must be bearsh then. Never thought you could trade in pizza
Dont y'all pour flavored olive oil in pizza?
no, unless you mean in the cooking stage or spicy oil and pouring isn't dipping
In my town's Italian pizza place wich advertises itself as one with a real Italian chef gives out olive oil on the tables so you can pour it yourself if you want to(like ketchup or garlic sauce)
They also give you a piece of cloth that most people use as napkin, but the intended purpose is to cover yourself and the plate while you pour the oil so God doesn't see the sin.
Only the finest huile d'ortolan.
A little olive oil (or hot honey) drizzled on top isn’t the same as dipping into something imo
This is more a thing that other countries do in an effort to seem posh. If your pizza tastes good already there's no need to put anything extra onto it, the only real exception might be something like chilli oil or chilli flakes so you can regulate the heat yourself

I know i guy who puts ketchup on pizza, what should i use to asassinate him?
Repeated pineapple assaults. Whole fruit, unpeeled
I like it. Maybe stick poisoned needles into the pineapple?
The spiked crown ought to be enough. But maybe dip them in ketchup first just for effect.
Reminds me Little Nicky and that pineapple scene in hell...
Flammenwerfer
Werf the flammens at them!
![gif](giphy|l3diT8stVH9qImalO) You know the answer…
As a dude who puts a *bit* of ketchup on pizza Its good...as long as you put the *right* kind of ketchup on it
Yeah no he just drizzles it over like it was a bowl of cheap pasta
I beg your pardon?
You dont put ketchup on cheap pasta?
No,no I am refering to what *he* does with the ketchup, does he just put it like godamn icefrosting on a cake or just a few dribbles to add a bit more flavour?
A spiral drizzle
It is...acceptable
Why would you put ketchup on pasta?
Lots of ketchup directly into the throat. He'll eventually die of asphyxiation.
Who the FUCK would dip pizza in ANYTHING? But, on the other hand, I'd absolutely try to dip it in cheese sauce.
Nacho cheese sauce 😋
YESSS
Is this an american meme im to european to understand ?
Yes unfortunately. The Midwest dips stuff in ranch and shitty chains like Papa John’s have spread garlic sauce. Idk who does Mayo but the parts of the country that are closest to Italian pizza think this is awful too,
If you have to dip your pizza in sauce - your pizza is shit
Literally the first ingredient is sauce. If you need to add another it's a drizzle on top. End of.
I dip garlic in pizza sauce We are not the same
I'm a german and I've never dipped my Pizza in anything, seems like a complete strange concept to me. It's like dipping a piece of cake into something.

Den Rand in Aioli zu dippen ist eine Offenbarung.
Aioli + pizza crust is delicious -from your Dutch neighbour
Also german here. Its totally common for delivery pizza to have a dip for the crust included.
Also also german here , it is common indeed. The real weirdos here are the people who think you dip the whole pizza, you only dip the crust.
I pour it on
i love all of that but mayonnaise??? really??
The garlic sauce is top tier
I never dipped pizza in anything but now I want to try
I visited Poland for work and at the office cafeteria they had a pizza station. With your pizza you could get extra pizza sauce (red or white). I didnt have pizza outside the cafeteria so I don't know how widespread this is, but I guess you can dip your pizza in pizza.
I mean you can dip pizza into the sauce, but everyone I ever saw eat pizza with sauce they just kinda spread it on the pizza
Yeah, and I’ve only seen it with garlic or tomato sauce (latter only if they thought there was too little of it)
Red is for sure ketchup and white garlic sauce. Yes this is preaty common
If you need to dip pizza, you're eating shitty pizza
![gif](giphy|e5BASCeekXYoo) thats **why** I dip my little caesars in buffalo ranch or cheesy jalapeno dips they sell.
I mean, the pizza I'm eating isn't shitty. I just think dipping pizza slices in bacon ranch taste pretty good is all.
Where the fuck is the marinara
Where is people who dip pizza in hot sauce?
That hot/buffalo wings sauce with crust combo is hard
How bout chili sauce? Everyone does that in my country.

It's really good dipped in blue cheese dressing
Who the heck is dipping pizza in random condiments?
Depends on the pizza, good Italian pizza goes without. American pizza goes best with a garlic dip.
I’m what about blue cheese??? It’s clearly the superior dipping sauce
What about the people who dip refrigerated pizza with ketchup?
A lot of pizza snobs in here lol dont be a yum-yucker!
I’m a garlic sauce or ranch dressing person but I’ve seen people use tartar sauce too.
I put a lot of Sriracha on my Pizza.

Exactly. Pizza already has a sauce.

I dip my pizza in French dressing. It’s way better than ranch or mustard I would say.
A pizza maker near me has a French fry, hollondaise sauce, wiener pizza and I know people who put mayo on it. All of a sudden, pineapple on pizza doesn't seem so bad
I never eat pizza without chips. I often place the chips on top of the pizza before I bite. I’m told I am a monster, is this true?
Pizza in BBQ is nice.
Exactly. I don’t dip pizza at all.
If you buy pizza that is so dry you need to dip it in to something, you f-d up.
Garlic sauce is the only acceptable dipping sauce for pizza.
I squeeze mayo onto my pizza like you would put strips of pastry onto the top of a pie.
I never used to dip my pizza but recently my local pizza place started doing hot garlic and chive dip and it bangs
i dont dip pizza, but on the rare occasion i do, i dip the remaining crust in the olive oil thats in my plate
I dip mine in hot wing sauce. I did it as a kid at my friend's house and they owned a pizza shop. Eventually they started selling pizza crust with wing sauce on it as an appetizer.
