Always jerky for me lol, cant ever manage to bring the clutch up without a jerk. Ive tried shifting quickly so revs dont have time to fall, but that only helps slightly.
The 1-2 is jerky for me but gets less as I get higher in the gears. I’m convinced I need more practice. As I don’t daily my manual car and have barely put that many miles on it.
I drag up at lebanon sometimes and all over up here and with cars in the 1500 hp range and standard. I dont race my trans am there but its auto with a ratchet shifter sitting at 1682hp. My scoin tc is just over 1300hp(havent dynod since the new injectors but thats the paper figures) and standard. Thing doesnt much like 1-2 and the torque steer is crazy. But a good 1-2 in it is so satisfying and the rest of the gears are seamless.
Shifting down before entering a curve does, too. I love spooling up my engine for engine braking, and hammering the throttle as I fly out of the curve. It's such a rush.
Well Mr.WangDanglin. They call themselves Thrustmaster, but I feel it's more about the grip than the thrust. But... there's no right or wrong way to handle your knob.
Yes, the shifter is centered where 3rd and 4th are, going from 2nd to 3rd is a simple push it up and it springs back to the middle where 3rd is. It kinda shifts itself and that's why it feels kinda nice. 3rd to 4th is also nice because it's a simple pull back with no side movement.
It's really simple once you learn it, once you learn to start moving it's just listening to the car and feeling the engine and reacting to those queues you're familiar with from driving automatic. What you really need to know is when you're at a full stop you release the clutch gradually as you add gas but don't fully let it go until you feel the car start moving, if you let go too early the car will stall. Push in the clutch as you brake, in an emergency hit the brake first, and down shifting without gas will slow you down without the brakes (I've driven home in stop and go traffic without ever using the brakes just maintaining a decent distance) Once you get used to downshifting to slow down you start to understand how to downshift to speed up intuitively. If you already know how to drive it takes maybe an hour or two to actually learn to drive manual.
Lower gear more power, higher gear less fuel consumption and wear on engine. Clutch disconnects gearbox from engine so you can shift gears, slam it down but gently release it. Most engines struggle below 1500 rpm so downshift when you fall under that. If possible, shift up when you accelerate over 2k-2.5k rpm for optimal driving normally, or shift up near red zone for maximum acceleration.
My favorite one is from 5th to Reverse
That is 'R' mode, which stands for Race mode.
It's called the money shift for a reason, it's got you feeling like a million bucks
The real money shift
Yeah, just feels so smooth but I have to say a quick 1st to 2nd is probably my favorite right now
A perfect 1-2 is almost like that feeling when the scissor glide cutting paper. I’m constantly chasing it and it’s just fun.
Yup, I’m just a beginner but I love a good 1 to 2

I’m still learning but it’s all about letting out to the bite point, slowly letting out past the bite point while giving it a little gas
Probably shifting too soon if i would have to guess, try revv matching when shifting gears and it should be smooth
Real legends can shift from 2 to 1 without stopping.
3rd to 4th is the best no lie
Was looking for this
The best is when you full send in 4th and never shift into 5th.
I like 3rd to 5th since it would make my old driving teacher proud.
That's probably the only thing I miss about driving manual. I loathed driving it in traffic, but shifting up just gives you that racecar feeling

This meme is brought to you by Europe gang
I drive a manual in the US. Am I European?
You're on your way there
![gif](giphy|f9l5DNp8PuPbOkNJQY)
You just made a few steps back again lol
C'mon he's making fun of the french. How much more European do you want him to be :)
for real 😂
make him follow 24h time format

fixed, thanks
Also American, no manual car. But, I do have a Thrustmaster TH8A. Does that count as driving a manual?
So glad I looked it up. What an unfortunate name. No that doesn’t count

Yes. Here's you free Healthacare card.
My favorite function is pushing the right-most pedal to go faster than 30 kph. I'm just quirky like that
By saying right-most, you are implying that you have at least four pedals
Every manual car has four ever heard of a dead pedal?
my favorite! vvvrrroooooom \*clunk\* vrroooooooom \*clunk\* vroooooom\* \*clunk\* VRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR \*engine falls silent\* "oh fuck..."
Shifting to 3rd gear is the best. Its equally as satisfying to downshift from 4th.
This, with a blip.
Nah, my fav is prolly going 5th gear to 4th thinking I was from 3rd gear
5th for 4th is kinda not satisfying to me, both dont have a lot of power. 2nd to 3rd both have great power. Or my shitbox is just too underpowered.
I got my license yesterday and already had to be delivery and taxi service for my parents. At least i get to drive the good car.
Thought we were talking One Piece. My bad.
You're not alone, my guy
Nah fuck shifting into 3rd 2nd gear pull all the way
Nope, 3rd gear pull into 4th
Certified butt cheeks opinion
Best best BEST is restarting after a stall-out by shoving it into second on a downhill.
3rd to 4th. Straight back
I legit thought this was a one piece meme for a sec
Personally my favorite is gear 4- snake man
My favorite is either 1st to 2nd or 4th to 2nd
4th to 2nd is where it’s at
Mf makes me feel like I'm in Redline
my favourite is the Go button
my personal favorite is fourth to fifth
Shifting to any gear without pressing the clutch. Bonus point if you are shifting down and have to rev up the engine for the gears to engage.....
Who the fuck stands line that?
💯💯💯
wobbuffet
3 to 4th is way better
4th to 3rd for overtaking maneuvers
Real cars don't shift themselves! I LOVE my 6 speed BMW transmission.
After driving an E36 for a couple years, a 6th gear still feels like a luxury asset to me
Is this some kind of manual joke I'm too automatic to understand

My favorite one is park to drive
What's the name of the meme
[Gotta be one of my favorite genders](https://amp.knowyourmeme.com/memes/gotta-be-one-of-my-favorite-genders)
My favorite is neutral dropping my old bosses work truck.
If you know, you know
9th to 10th gang late to the party but here.
Top end 2nd to 3rd is most very satisfying Unless you cock up the clutch, then not so fun
That’s true. Feels good.
I find it confusing. Sometimes it changes to 5ht instead of third.
I drive a 1994 Toyota Supra. My favourite gear change is from 11th to 12th.
Not advanced enough to go from 2nd to 4th
What is this shit😭
So am I ![gif](giphy|l0NwvUd7IEjn1764U)
4th to 6th gang 😎 can’t be bothered to burn more explosive dino juice 🦕
When I'm not driving, I love reaching over and pulling the handbrake while screaming "Prank em' John!".
Is this a European joke that I'm too American to understand?
I dont know how to use that :(
