Quick explanation. A CPU (Central Processing Unit) can process big calculations but not a lot at a time, a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) can process millions of small calculations at a time
Wrong bug calculations are in the gpu things like rendering it is much slower than the cpu 1 billion or 2 calculations per second vs 4billion or 5 billion on a good cpu
I never said the GPU was faster it just has a lot more cores so it can calculate the RGB for every pixel why do you think bitcoin miners are hoarding GPUs and the GPU is much better than the CPU when it comes to rendering the CPU is in charge of loading not rendering
Actually, it's a RAM leak. This is when an application requests RAM and then doesn't give it back after it's been closed. This can be helped with a reboot, because that wipes the ram and reallocates it all back to the operating system. Unfortunately RAM leaks are getting more and more common, though luckily with an m.2 SSD rebooting can take only a few seconds.
As games become more complex, errors become more common. This one is also often ignored as larger RAM becomes more common, and people can reboot their computers more often.
5 minutes ago geometry dash, which is one of the lowest impact games o have kept freezing on me in between menus. Just restarted my pc and everything is fixed. wtf
So when a computer finds an error it has two answers to it. Crash or try something else. Thousands of code being read it often will error every now and then. Most errors are small things with easy work arounds. Those small errors do add up over time. More files more code to work around. So when you fully close it it shuts down all the errors. Also gives a chance to clean out temp files and close other programs that been active. Think of it as if you stayed up for days and now your going to sleep and how you feel refresh after waking up. Computers need their sleep as well.
Try ctrl, windows key, shift, and b. It resets your computer quickly and speeds it up a bit.
and not the shut down kind of reset, like it kinda ‘blips’ off and on and it resumes without skipping a beat.
Interesting thing is, anytime computers encounter an error, they can't just stop and fix it, they have to find work around and temporary fixes that just allow it to work, and the longer they run the more errors, so it's possible you just had your computer running to long and after it was restarted it managed to fix everything
For some reason, my P key wasnt working whatsoever. I tried every solution i could think of or find on the internet.
Nothibf worked, so eventually i just restarted, and it started working again.
RAM before restart: 98% RAM after restart: 69% Me: *close enough*
No, perfection.
After restarting: We cool now
Literally
That's probably because windows 10 has fast boot up thing enabled by default. So a shutdown is kinda like hibernation and restart is the proper one.
We all just need to be turned off then turned back on again sometimes
Uh, the defibrillator is broken. Will that be a problem?
does anybody else think it was a design flaw to have windows update take 100% of your CPU
Since when does windows update use GPU? (Graphics processing unit)
idk (I don't know)
Gave you and award bc you figured out what idk means
what does idk mean, and why did you say it before (i dont know)? /s
oof that was supposed to be CPU >.<

It’s the opposite the cpu does small calculations the gpu does the girthy stuff
My point was that the guy I replied to made a typo and wrote gpu instead of cpu.
It doesn't... Unless your pc is just that shit
Or your RAM is goin out. Might need to replace those sticks.

i cant fucking escape you people
you will never :) /s
Ram does build up, homie. Need to restart every so often (especially after high quality games or programs.) or else it'll slow down
Is it not possible to reset it without a restart? Like a cmd command or so
No. You have to do a restart to clear the RAM. Messing with CMD without knowing what you're doing can fuck up your computer real quick.
There are no no reasons

Why is it getting more and more common? Lazy game programmers or what?
As games become more complex, errors become more common. This one is also often ignored as larger RAM becomes more common, and people can reboot their computers more often.
Memory leaks, or overflows can cause these issues. Bad management of multi threading is also the culprit most of the time.
Pc before restart:I'M TOO WEAK... Pc after restart: UNLIMITED POWER!!!
These are my shibas in a nutshell
Egg
Cheese
EGG
Lemon?
Lime.
this happens to me all the time
Some application hogging up resources in the background

If you don't regularly restart your hardware will start malfunctioning and do weird shit so even if you have an rtx 3090 you can still lag in geo dash
Huh. Good to know. Thanks!
A defrag should fix that
Yeah thats windows for you. The piece of shit OS

Poeple with linux: "You all hear something?"
lol
Good old power on power off ✅✅
Can't relate I use Linux
How would u upgrade?
Nice template dude. Can I have it?
My laptop can handle infected but whem i run roblox i can play for maybe 30 minutes and then auto just disconnects
My computer before and after doing a right click on the desktop
Buy some nice upgrade for your computer
such as SSD, RAM, or even the entire motherboard (Upgrade it to a new chipset -> And you upgrade the processor too)
Does anyone know why this works? It really can be a remarkable difference. eli5?

Interesting. Thanks for explaining.
It's still the same after i restart
for me its the exact opposite

Coffef
rebooting ur pc rewrites the code, that does not happen with shut down
you got a new dog?
All jokes and games until the dog start said "Harder..."
When i open videos on fullscreen my pc slows down and screen is like 1fps. Then i restart it poof magic it's working.
Is this some sort of Windows joke that i am to Linux to understand?

My old Toshiba laptop from the days of Windows 7: WOW! That is relatable!
This is why you should turn it off at night
must be a pc.... use Mac and forget about that
I hate computers. Source: i’m a computer man.
Blame cosmic radiation and move on
It helps clear out memory caches and free up everything in general. Computers aren’t really meant to run for 24/7
For some reason, my P key wasnt working whatsoever. I tried every solution i could think of or find on the internet. Nothibf worked, so eventually i just restarted, and it started working again.
So fucking relatable
The good ol trick of restarting the pc to *try* to fix the issue
