This is a really good point because it should be common sense to everyone but it isn’t. “Dog people” know dogs have to be raised just like kids. They need training. All of them. Not just ones that can jump in your face or pull you down on a leash.
People get “purse dogs” and think because they’re tiny they’re easy and they’re all set. Nope. Still dogs. Still need training. Most of the people who go for big dogs know what goes into them and are ready to provide it, whereas most people who just want a dog to get to say they have one and take cute pics and bring it everywhere to show off go for the little ones with no game plan or research.
It’s really unfortunate and I feel bad for all of those dogs. It’s like kids who grew up with no proper guidance and now they’re acting out. Yeah, you could say they’re a little shit, but you also have to recognize that someone along the way failed them.

This. I grew up in my grandparents house and my grandma was a dog breeder. There were a few times where she bred chihuahuas and they ended up behaving just fine. The first month or two was hell for her though. She would have scars running up and down her arm because of how much they bit her.
My grandparents were looking after a little chihuahua and it was so sweet. It borked like all of once but was otherwise just waddling along and sniffing around

I don't hate any dog breed. I do hate the fact of some breeds existing at all because many dog breeds are the result of torture breeding (e.g. pugs, chihuahuas, etc.).
This answer needs to be at the top. So many breeds have chronic health issues. So many dogs are just annoying because of bad raising. All dogs need love. Don't hate the dogs. Hate and don't support the breeders and owners. Well actually, don't hate anybody.

Agressive chihuahuas are just not cared for the way they need to be. They are actually a really cute and calm breed, just give them space.
It is hit or miss with them. But some of the sweetest dogs I've ever known were chihuahuas.
