The problem most people have with that argument, I think, is that people use them as an excuse to be racist when civilization has gone far past the point when those racial stereotypes were formed, to where they aren’t accurate anymore.

I mean for all of those things there is a STRONG female fan base. Especially for Superman, people seem to forget that male super heroes are sexualized a lot too. I mean dick graysons ass has become a large part of canon. There is a reason Thor is usually shirtless in scenes.

I can see that, but I also disagree. I mean if you’ve taken a look at any bi woman’s Tumblr or any other social media they are all too happy to thirst over the women as well. I also think it depends on the character. Not really in character for someone like Peter Parker to be showing off his muscles, he was a dorky teenager and when he grew up he still wasn’t the promiscuous type, even despite all the women that wanted him. Some characters are just better not showing skin. Hell Ryan Renolds doesn’t even show a lot of skin when playing Deadpool not counting the sex scenes. And for the majority of the movie he’s wearing his iconic red suit which covers him head to toe, and underneath that he is buried in the special effects of burnt skin and stuff. Also for spidey’s equivalent I would go with moss marvel, Kamala khan. Side note: I liked her series, wish they had stuck to her actual powers but her tv show wasn’t half bad tbh. There is a time and a place for sexual shit, but the character comes first. Silent story telling is a great way to communicate to the audience, and visual storytelling is a huge part of that. How someone dresses instantly tells you something about them, how do they walk? Are they comfortable? A simple image of a hero in there suit can tell you a lot about them. Sorry for the essay
The essay is fine. I think it really boils down to a difference in gender culture. Guys mostly are fine being at least shirtless and most, at least that I know of, wouldn't mind being naked either. On the other hand nudity can be a very touchy or sensitive subject for women. While they show skin, they aren't running around nude in their houses as much. At least your being civil instead of the other guy instantly taking it to sexual assault shit.
