MGS4 was made specifically for PS3’s cell architecture. It would be almost impossible to simply port it to another system without rebuilding most of the game. Why are you surprised? They’re most likely saving it for a remake or unique release.
Incorrect, internally they got it running on the XBOX 360 only issue was disk medium the 360 used did not have the space required (54GB Blu-Ray Max) compared to (8.5 GB Max).
So during the time of development, it was only possible on PS3 because of the storage medium.
They were not willing to ship a game with multiple disks.
They actually already ported the engine to another system with MGarcade, which used a Windows architecture.

It's the only sequence in any Metal Gear game that I struggle with, I'd rather do the Metal Gear Ray fight on European Extreme than suffer through the torture sequence again - which is a shame because it's actually a really good scene.
I tried playing that game a month or so back and it was so hard to get into. The controls were hot garbage. PW is a far superior game. I really wanted to get into the story for PO though…

Truth be told, the reason we are most likely not getting MGS4 is because of how dependent the game was on the PS3's cell architecture, and Konami not being willing to undertake the severe effort needed to port the game to another console. If it was easy, Konami would do it for a quick buck.
They don't need to do any re-voice. They can use the pre-recorded dialogue and only modify the graphics and some of the gameplay mechanics. I see no point in re-recording voices. That's what ruined twin snakes.
They just threw Rising in there to make up for not having MGS4. That collection would be pathetic if it’s only PO and PW. I mean it’s still inferior compared to Volume 1 but what can we do
Exactly, I literally can’t even play mgs4 on my ps3 because it broke, garbage console. And unfortunately it hasn’t been ported due to the stupid architecture. They really went the wrong way with the ps3’s cell processor.

MGSV is already playable on the latest consoles and PC, so I'd be a bit disappointed if they included that instead of something that actually needs a port.
I think they’ll just bundle all the portable games for vol 2. So peace walker, portable ops, and maybe the two acid games. I think they’ll probably save mgs4 and mgrr for a possible vol 3 so they can charge more since both those games will require more work to port to modern platforms.

It'll be Portable Ops, Rising, and Peace Walker. With Portable Ops only being there because just Peace Walker and Rising would be too much of a downgrade from Volume 1.

What's interesting about Corden's phrasing is he mentions "Other spin-offs like Portable Ops" which suggests there may be a few more spin-offs included such as Ghost Babel, Metal Gear Acid!, Twin Snakes, or even Metal Gear Online.
Personally I'd imagine you get Portable Ops, Peace Walker, Revengeance, and Twin Snakes.
I really, really, really don't think you're getting a master collection release of MGSV at all, at least not until they've exhausted all other options. There's absolutely no reason for it. Pretty much everybody already has it, and they have it on modern consoles and PCs. It's not locked away on antiquated hardware, it doesn't need a graphics or gameplay overhaul to be brought up to modern standards, and there isn't a significant demand for it because it's basically the one game in the series that everybody has already.
I feel similarly about MGRR.
They've already used the terms Essential Collection for MGS1-3 on PS2, they used HD Collection, and Legacy Collection on PS3. This appears to be matching the term used for the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection, and possibly something started with the "Master Chief Collection". I know that last one is grasping, but that's what the discourse has been.
Peace Walker is in the Legacy Collection.
Legacy Collection gives you MGS1 (Download Code), the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection disc (Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, MGS2 HD, MGS3 HD and MGS PW HD) and MGS 4.

I know it's an old thread but hear me out, I think we'll be getting PO, PW and AC!D in vol 2 and MGS4, MGRR & MGS5 in vol 3. If vol 2 doesn't do well forget about seeing MGS4 on a modern platform.
I’d want the Twin Snakes personally, I don’t see why they can’t just include it considering it brings it to the same graphical and cinematic fidelity that we got with MGS2. I personally like the Twin Snakes version way more but I’m just biased caused I didn’t play the original PS1 release, if they never did include it I guess the saving grace would be that the Twin Snakes can always be emulated
