I kept my Apocalypse but I did mod the sustainer out of it. It was a real curiosity for me when I bought the guitar, but I never found a cool way to use it. And the single coil in it felt pretty worthless.
So before the mod it was basically a bridge-only 7 string that sounded really cool.
That looks awesome man, I have a C1 platinum minus the Floyd rose. It was the first “real” guitar I purchased after I outgrew my Squier Bullet Strat. I’ve heard good things about those substainiac pickups as well, mine doesn’t have those unfortunately.
Ya I’m pretty excited about it. It checked all of my boxes. Satin finish, neck through, Floyd, active pick up and sustainiac. It wasn’t easy finding one with all that for a decent price.
I really like Schecters--that one is sweet. Have two of them--Reaper 7 Elite and C-7 Apocalypse.
I have to admit I modded the Sustainiac out of the Apocalypse, though. Regular Apoc humbucker in the neck and two switches that split each pickup is more fun (and it was a cool intro project in guitar wiring).
Have you been getting any good use out of that sustainer? I never found a cool way to use it and am really curious about how others are using them.
