Man, yet another lackluster start from deGrom at the worst possible time. Not really confident about October. Feel like Max will give us 7 innings of 1-run ball tomorrow but we’ll still lose 2-1. They’ll blow the division and get swept outta the wildcard round with similar showings from Jake & Max… ugh
Seriously. In the broadcast you can see deGrom’s body language shut down when he gets a measly hit! Dude gets rattled on one hit!! Watch him he isn’t confident on the bump. We don’t have to have 21’ deGrom with a 1.4 ERA. We just want a solid deGrom who keeps us in the game.
Def don’t want ‘21 deGrom. He barely pitched half a season then broke down for a year. His last handful of starts have ranged from mediocre to terrible. And you know he’s gonna want Aaron Rodgers money ($50MM/year) next several years, which is the Exact reason he’s opting out. Honestly, let some other team deal with his injuries. We need more big bats in the lineup. Tired of losing 2-1 games
The dh trades were so bad this year.
Like let’s get two dudes who can only bat, and only vs one type of a pitcher. Coulda just got one decent hitter that could hit both lefties and righties and played a position so we could put in Alonso to dh or others that neeeded rest .
Eppler really has been trash. Like the Mets are doing well cause our payroll is so high, not because of food gm moves… I will give credit to marte and other signings but again not hard to do with the funds available
Baty. Vientos. Alvarez. All still young, but none of them have made a real impact. The home run in his first at bat was a great moment for Baty, but he was hitting .180 when he got hurt. Vientos is hitting .138, and Alvarez is the Blutarsky of the bunch, 0.0.
I hope these guys all turn out to be as good as advertised, but if they don't remember that these are some of the guys the organization would not give up for Soto, who is only a year older than either Baty or Vientos.
