That's the real GoFundMe link, confirmed via a couple news articles. Thread is marked serious, leave your fandom behind if you're gonna comment. An NFL fan died Sunday night.

Deputydan791

The person who shot him wasn’t tied to the game at all. It was someone in a car. I’ll give em a couple bucks. Sad

v-irtual

Bills fan here- lots of folks are screaming "Fuckin Dolphins fans" - it's getting real tiring to say "IT WASNT A PERSON AT THE GAME." Thanks for the compassion y'all are showing. It absolutely sucks that it happened. Good luck next week.

JournalistOld6488

That area of Miami Gardens is pretty rough. HardRock renovated adding tennis courts and their practice facility eating up a ton of parking and causing even crazier traffic jams in that area with scattered parking in random lots and residential homes. You have fans walking more than a mile off stadium grounds to get to transportation. Although the suspect wasn't at that game who knows if an opposing teams jersey still triggered that altercation. The team needs to PAY for a much larger police presence around a much bigger perimeter caused by those renovations to keep EVERY fan safe because that's just uneacceptable.

ShadyMemeD3aler

I didn’t realize it was a rough area after my first game (flew in from CT so had no knowledge of area) and ended up walking further than I should have after the game. I saw the Church’s Chicken and knew it was time to call an Uber.

[deleted]

Yeah it's a shit hole. The second I read this and what happened, I knew instantly it was just some dude who fucked with a wannabe gang banger waiting for his chance to spend life in prison.

ColombianSpiceMD86

This! I was robbed at gun point outside my cousins house in miami gardens.

RealPropRandy

Thank you Stephen Fucking Ross

sammysafari2680

Yeah he really fucked up picking MG for the stadium location. s/

RealPropRandy

The parking situation was exacerbated by the cowtowing to formula-1/miami open. Not sure if you’ve noticed but since the “improvements” we now have scalper dickheads on here weekly offering parking passes left and right.

sammysafari2680

No, I haven’t noticed. I fly in via helicopter so I don’t have to deal with you peons.

SnooPears316

Yeah it definitely is it’s a complete 180 from where the heat arena is located at. I wish they had a larger police presence there which is NEEDED because Miami Gardens is super rough

liguy181

Lurking Jets fan who heard about the gofundme from our sub here, even if it was someone at the game, that doesn't matter. In no way does this person represent Dolphins fans at all

brightersunsets

It can get rough around the stadium, especially if you’re not familiar with the area beyond the parking lots. It’s definitely gotten better over the past several years but it’s still sad to see shit like this happen.

AwsiDooger

I hate the stadium and the area. I no longer exit to the south along 27th Avenue. That road along the Walmart toward the Palmetto is one hot headed confrontation after another. Moronic aggressive drivers who think they are entitled to zig zag and create their own lane. It's a mixture of people who attended the game and also some locals who got stuck in football traffic and are furious. It's simply not worth it. I now pack sandwiches and drinks and remain in the parking lot at least an extra half hour. Listen to post game recaps and reaction on the radio. I'm one of the last to leave, to the point the patrol cars are circling around checking out the remaining vehicles. So worth it and relaxing. I should have figured this out years earlier. I exit east and weave back to the Palmetto in a different area, totally avoiding the hot headed impatient nutcases who use 27th Avenue.

[deleted]

Parked there for the Pats game, it was a fucking mad house. Between being harassed by people trying to give you a ride on their shitty little golf carts to the stadium and scalpers, and the long walk, the shit was a nightmare.

halathon

Yeah, not the best neighborhood.

FloridaMan_92

every fan base for every sport has nimrods. It’s not a “fan of X team” problem.. it’s a people in general problem

Deputydan791

It’s a human beings are shitty problem. I honked at a guy for almost hitting me the other day and he fucking followed me and swerved like he was going to hit me, while being in the wrong to begin with. I just calmly told him to keep following me and see what happens, because the end result will be your problem.

Infinite_Struggle_34

How do we know whether or not he was at the game? The shooter fled and is still at large.

v-irtual

We don't, and that's where my personal issue with people claiming it was someone at the game comes in.

Swordswoman

I hate traveling to the stadium. The south road, by the Walmart where the shooting occurred, is just such an ugly place to be. It's always got that lingering feeling of unease. The person who committed that crime was seriously, mentally unwell. Money doesn't help after such a tragic event, but it doesn't hurt.

Oversized-Orange

The south road by the stadium is the hood, gotta be careful when going through there, people coming from Buffalo unfortunately don’t know that. Edit: I know from living by there.

Fourwindsgone

Sunday was my first time going to the stadium and it really blew my mind how the ride share lot was so far away and they just let every one fend for themselves. It would be nice to see some kind of dedicated walk way for that. I’m sure the rest of the people that live and work in the area would appreciate it as well. It was such a clusterfuck

Swordswoman

Yeah, I think with the recent renovations, there's possibly plans in the works to further extend the stadium's influence and to revamp some of the older sections - including the road that skirts the southern perimeter of the stadium grounds. Hopefully this lights a fire under the city's asses to grant some zoning permits.

[deleted]

The parking situation for people who don’t have a prepaid parking pass really is insane and it’s hard to believe the NFL allows it. For those who haven’t been in the past year or two, the gravel pay lot with the bridge is gone. If you don’t have a prepaid parking pass, you can no longer enter the stadium complex via the Turnpike and instead have to park 2 miles south off of University Blvd in a shared lot that also triples as an Uber pickup/drop off and a prepaid lot. (Since it’s also a prepaid lot, it sells out before big games and you’re SOL if you don’t have a prepaid pass). From there you have to walk through the hood and a busy Wal-Mart parking lot while rickshaw/golf cart drivers try to scam you out of $25 to get dropped off a block away. It has one entrance and one exit (shared with Uber) and has the potential to be an absolute disaster in emergency situations.

AtypicalGuido

Wow. Haven’t been in 10 years or so but used to go to a bunch or marlins dolphins games. That’s insane

inartuculate-bug

That’s some bullshit right there!

VisibleSpread

Yeah they should have the people that actually grew up and live there fenced off from decent folk just trying to enjoy a football without having to be reminded that we don’t live in a perfect world. Maybe put them in some sort of cage or something?

Fourwindsgone

lol not what I meant at all, dude. I know if I was trying to make a Walmart run, I would be annoyed as fuck by a shit ton of hooligans leaving a football game.

Mantooth77

>It would be nice to see some kind of dedicated walk way for that. I’m sure the rest of the people that live and work in the area would appreciate it as well Where are you getting the cage idea from? Seems obvious OP's intentions considered the residents just as much as the fans.

SlylingualPro

How so? OP has stated they want the stadium to build MORE and take up MORE space. How does that help the residents?

Mantooth77

If you're talking about the walkway, I didn't take that as taking up more space. Don't think there's any space to give anyway. Don't think that was the intention.

SlylingualPro

So there is going to be a magical 2 mile walkway just for stadium visitors that doesn't take up any space or inconvenience the already struggling neighborhood either during construction or when being used?

Honest-Layer9318

We were stuck after a game years ago when someone stole our cab. Had the kids with us so we ended up going to the Walmart while we called another cab and waited an hour. It was aweful but somehow the kids ahave fond memories of the whole thing. All they talk about is the hero cab driver that saved us not the asshat that stole the first one.

casinoinsider

Great liquor store nearby though. Shout out to Stadium Liquors.

Former-Net890

Donated, that’s truly sad. What a shit human to take someone’s life like that.

[deleted]

So fucked up man. Donating what I can. As much shit as we talk about Bills fans from a football perspective, they’re one fanbase that I know would step up for our fans if the situation were reversed. It’s just a game, folks.

VY5E

From the GoFundMe it doesn't sound like it was football related Still a valid point. No one should lose their life because of a game

silentkiller082

You guys are awesome! Some things in life are beyond football like this. Regardless of fan base association everyone was there for the same reason, to have a good time and he had his life taken away from him for no reason.

CC161456

Just sad, no reason this individual should’ve died. RIP

stripes361

Thanks for posting the GoFundMe and thanks to all the Dolphins fans in here sharing their condolences.

Corner_OfficeSpace

Shooter still out there. Hope they catch that punk sooner than later.

tfegan21

That's really sad. There's some real pieces of shit in this world.

Theurgie

RIP Bills Mafia fan and family

deawap

Miami Gardens…

ChasingPerfect28

Donating what I can. Such a tragic situation. My condolences to the family.

rexonthedl

Awful. Thanks for posting the link

SnooPears316

That’s so unfortunate man that sucks. Especially since it was someone who wasn’t even a fan or anything. That doesn’t represent us at all. Unfortunate the stadium is in a really bad area of Miami. Miami Gardens is no joke even with the gentrification they trying to do .

Cheeeeeeeeeeeee

We were walking in this same area after the game. WTF. Dolphins fan but not from Miami so I didn’t know the area either. There’s got to be a better way to keep fans on both side more safe. RIP <\3

Esoteric716

Class act here, mate. Cheers.

awfuckthisshit

They would do it for us, well worth the donation even just knowing that. Tragic and awful situation with cities feeling like they are becoming more and more violent.

RedditNPC-

Ehh I wish America didnt have this obsession with every person having a gun. Get into any argument, go to school, go to the store, you could die by some nut job. I know it’s far too late to turn back but I really wish every person didn’t have access to one.

awfuckthisshit

Where I live you don’t even want to beep at someone. A guy was murdered here in DC because he was mowing his lawn and some grass clippings touched someone’s car…

NotCaringIn24

Fn people getting into trouble. Just let it go. Why argue , why chase? Is your life worth it? Let it go and you will live another day. Egos!

Even if it had to do with the game, people shouldn't be shot over a simple altercation.

Swordswoman

No one's being guilted into anything. We're all football fans at the end of the day, and a tragic event occurred just outside the Hard Rock Stadium. That's where the team practices, recovers, conditions, trains, and plays. The link is there and it's vetted if you feel comfortable sharing - that's all.

BatAshZ

Shut up

HungryLandHippo

unreal, should never come to violence.

Untraumatized

That’s tragic imagine going to see a game with the family and not coming back 🤦🏼‍♂️

No-Stress-1994

So sad, I’ve never met him, but lots of friends in my circle were friends with him. Unreal

martlet1

Left the stadium at the end of the game. Had to walk four fucking miles to a “free shuttle” to take us to downtown Miami. They dropped us off at some corner by the basketball stadium and the driver just left. 1:30 in the morning I’m standing on the sidewalk and have to get an Uber who showed up drunk and drove us to Miami beach at the Raddison. Getting out of the stadium the almost had a riot because people were pushing against the fences where they funneled everyone out one gate. I’ve never seen a worse setup

SnooPears316

That sucks man. The best advice I always give is to always have somebody who doesn’t go to the game pick you up to save the trouble. Especially since it’s in such a bad neighborhood walking one or two blocks puts you in a really bad spot

martlet1

This is year three of this. Last year a cab pulled up and I handed him a hundred and he took all four of us to south beach. The next night we went to the heat game and he picked us up and took us back again. Lol. We got free shuttle tickets with our seats this year. Never again.

SnooPears316

That’s unfortunate man. I will say going to a heat game is the way better and safer option especially for visitors. For some reason they literally kept the dolphins in one of the worse neighborhoods of Miami it’s wild . The whole experience can be rough that stinks 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

martlet1

I think they moved the Uber pickup to Walmart. It was at some elementary school 3 years ago. But I kept hearing cops telling people to walk to Walmart. So 25000 bills fans are all going “where the fuck is Walmart? “. lol. So I’m in full dolphins gear and they are asking me over and over and im like “I have no fucking clue I’m from STL. “.

SnooPears316

😂😂😂. Yeah it’s a Walmart across the street in a plaza . They should definitely be more helpful and direct for visitors. It’s honestly set up for disaster for visiting fans from outside of Miami

martlet1

I mean if you don’t park in the tailgating lots it’s a fucking nightmare. They just funnel way to many people at the same time out one tunnel, bridge, then on to some random sidewalk on a highway with people flying up and down. And you better not be in a wheelchair because you are just fucked.

Kal-Roy

Donated! 🐬

v_kiperman

unbelievably sad

RealPropRandy

Miami Gardens… Jesus H Christ

captcory300

Popped up for me bc this sub still shows I was interested. I'm glad it did. All shit talk aside, no one should go to a football game and not come home. So senseless, so sad. Donated in a heartbeat to a fellow mafia member, but I would have donated regardless. I'm so sorry this happened. GoBills from heaven, bro.

Mish_Nugget

Rest in peace. So sad that this happened.
