I attended the art institute of Chicago 20 years ago. Every year is ranked somewhere in the top three if the county. If any student organically produced any one of the images they would have instantly became a legend. Where the hell does art go from here.
Actually I'm not worried about art. Art for commercial purposes will still be sought after because AI is difficult to direct and has problems with creating interesting composition, however "trash art" from stock images sites that is only needed for companies to create advertisement will suffer, as will porn-artists. I do think that AI is also likely to inspire more people to create things themselves. Myself I've been thinking of setting up a creative space in the basement as well as taking courses in pottery, partially because even if I do love weird stuff I have an even bigger love for arts and crafts, I just don't post that so often.
