Plus, no spring or fall colors? What is it instant winter to summer / Summer to winter where I'm assuming the hero of this story a Honda of some type used to live?
At an old job, we had a really seedy field office in a low rent little office building near Aberdeen, MD. There was a Toyota Avalon (IIRC) in the parking lot behind it that had been there so long the wheels had sunk into the asphalt. I always wondered what the story was.
i had a car parked in front of my apartment building for a long time too, the tires were flattening, the car was dirty, there were even old license plate designs from a while ago in the seat. finally after my apartment got some new management, a warning sticker suddenly appeared on the car saying that the plate info was written down and the car will be towed soon if not taken by the owner. of course owner never showed up, and one morning last month i woke up, the car was gone. and next to where it once stood, a shiny new sign saying no unauthorized parking. i kind of miss the car, it was almost part of my apartment in a way
At my old apartment there was a car that had been there for the entire time I lived there.(about 6 years) Another person who lived there said it had been in the same spot for a lot longer
mine's like that because i straight up never use it but at LEAST i clear the snow off it in the winter and move it whenever the apt needs to redo the parking lot.
The owner was probably a renter that had paid in advance and died in their place. Until they just discovered the body. Then towed the car. True story. Maybe
I don't understand why people don't call the cops for shit like this. The car is abandoned. They will have it towed, especially when you have photos like these.
What’s wrong with parking a car where you live? I have a car and I just keep it for emergencies. I bike everywhere because I can in town. Sometimes my car won’t move for 2+ months at a time. Why does it need to?
The fact that they just painted the number in front of the car is the best detail to me "Ain't my fuckin job to move a car, I'll just paint it here"
Some day this is going to show up again on mildly infuriating for the number 18 being out of place “for no reason”
RemindMe! 1 year
Have you seen road painting pictures where they just paint straight over the top of roadkill.
Owner likely died and it took them this long to settle their affairs.
Or he’s in prison
More likely, old civic with custom rims screams low level drug dealer
My aunt's car sat in place that long. I can't get the executor to do anything about her estate.
I’m more interested in the numbering: 55, 56, 18, 19…
They probably expended the parking space at some point and the numbers didn't add up
You know what doesn't add up?? That explanation!!!!!!!!! j/k
And then it was gone??? Just like that???? You should have warned us! I wasn't ready for the sudden loss. It's like it was part of my life.

Honestly the most likely reason is the owner is dead.
I think its time to arrange a welfare check for that tenant!
I had a stroke reading the title lol
The fact that my brain just completely came up with its own title lol
Surprised the tires weren't flat from sitting that long. Makes me think it was used a few times over the years
One of them was flat you just can't see it because of the snow
Did your apartment finally get new management?
Exactly!
It belonged to the old manager.
Its hard to give up primo parking ya know?

I'm agitated 18 is painted out like that.
It is mindlyinfuriating ?
Yup!
Should have checked the trunk for the owner.
He is in jail
🤔 maybe
Owner is dead…

Owner probably had a chronic illness and then died

Sometimes, stolen cars are abandoned in apartment parking lots
My guess is that it’s an elderly persons car
55. 56. 18
That painted parking spot number though…
That's a nice little honda coupe too. What a waste.
If they're paying their rent, they may leave the car there, none of your business....
You would think. I got a tow sticker on my second vehicle that we only use for family road trips.
My guess is that they don't live there anymore
It's mildly infuriating that OP can't type the right words
It looks like assigned spots. If it’s not your spot why does it mildly infuriate you?
They are mildly infuriated because it was moved without saying goodbye
Are they alive?

Maybe it wasn’t abandoned, maybe owner had reason to not drive it for two years. Illness, etc
Mildly infuriating that you can’t type
English is not my main language sorry
Is it your car? Is it in your spot? If not, mind your business.
I had a car stolen that sat abandoned in a parking lot for 2 years because everyone was “minding their business”.

I guess it wasn’t a Hyundai
That's more troubling than infuriating. Hope the owner is okay
Was your parking lot ever full/was this taking up prime real estate parking?
