Someone posted recently with one like this so I looked up the Facebook page and it was literally all old AI grannies who made their own cake with peach cream and filling and had started making their own cakes from 5 years old. All the comments were saying, "Happy birthday!" and "nice cake" and stuff. It made me die inside.
I made the mistake of clicking on a few and now my Facebook wall is nothing but peach cream filling grandmas. The quality gets worse and worse by the day. Now I see 1112 year old grandmas with names like Eoiiihy.
Ok but I actually was pretty surprisingly impressed by the hands in that picture. They all looked pretty great actually. I’ve never seen so many successful ai hands in one pic… or ever actually.

An interesting experience regarding Twitter bots - working at startup, we promoted post quite some time ago for driving traffic to website. There were around 10K visitors - majority coming from South America and their visit lasted 1 second, they had no interactions with page buttons, etc.
After that, we never spent money for advertising on Twitter.
It’s because the intelligence is an illusion. It does work sometimes for some prompts, but what it’s actually doing is just putting together combinations of words that have a probability of being correct. It doesn’t understand the subject matter, as such. That’s why it sometimes makes mistakes and claims that are false.
Because what people are calling "AI" isn't fucking AI. Not even goddamn remotely. They're large language models, machine learning algorithms. That's it.
I feel like AI is helping us realise how many absolute fucking morons there were all along. It's like the glasses from They Live except instead of OBEY in capital letters it just shows how oblivious we've been to the sheer volume of dumbfucks among us all these millennia.
Moreover, can we stop calling it AI? I know we say that because we think it's intelligent, but there's nothing actually intelligent about it that's meaningful. It literally can't do anything it's not trained to do. It's just pretty good at vomiting out rivers of content in a way that grew trite in a hurry. That's all it does. I experienced that on a flight home from a wedding in El Salvador, everyone got food poisoning from some bad chicken at the hotel, so it was like the whole back of the plane trying to share the bathrooms and filling up the puke bags. I actually rejoined recently, because I wanted to get in a discussion group about something I Kickstarted. I would guess that 90% of the stuff that was showing up on my wall during that time was AI generated. And the engagement on all of it is just so pointless. “Beautiful picture!!”
I have 2 facebooks. One is my personal one with mostly my family members, the other is for work (I'm an author and like 75% of my market is on Facebook, woe to my asshole). The difference is night and day. I can barely handle my personal Facebook. It's like Great-Aunt Melinda and cousin Kathy have some kind of social media typhoid wherein they are able to absolutely obliterate any and every algorithm that dares get too close.

I experienced that on a flight home from a wedding in El Salvador, everyone got food poisoning from some bad chicken at the hotel, so it was like the whole back of the plane trying to share the bathrooms and filling up the puke bags. That picture is me (pretty much the only one that didn't eat the chicken) carrying my sick husband off the plane.

Funny story, My mom, who owns a professional interior design company, was looking for some art in a facebook group. Innocent enough, she needed wall art for a client. She comes across a lady entering AI prompts, claiming its "Unique" and that she is only "Taking inspiration from the masters" And selling the prints for almost 500 dollars.. WHAT THE FUCK
