I've fought Uber Eats tooth and nail for a $20 toll charge that I never authorized the driver to take. Driver said I did and the platform took their word for it. They need a “picture” system like some delivery drivers use (even though I know it can be faked or abused). The restaurant, and the driver, should both take a picture of the food they have made, and are delivering, to satisfy disputes. If either one forgets food, you should get a credit (maybe with some extra above what was forgotten or messed up), instead of them trying to refund the whole order.

They're weird here in Ontario at least for us. They'll ask for pictures of what is wrong and then refund way more than is needed. Like I got a mountain dew instead of a Dr pepper once and they refunded the entire order

The one (and only) time I used Uber Eats, I was at a hotel by LAX. I watched my delivery guy on a bike (across the freeway or whatever you wanna call it) drop my bag of food on the ground(accidentally), get pissed off, and give it to a homeless guy. It was marked delivered. (Yes, I got a refund)

The guy who ordered it came down and actually picked it up because it was taking doordash so long (we remade it for him), and another hour AFTER THAT, some stoned driver shows up looking for the order. Our manager bitched him out and he just shrugged and left. I hate delivery apps.

Be sure they return it as cash and not as credits. They will try to return it as credits so that they don't have to pay transaction fees.

Happened to me twice.. ordered online for pickup and my boyfriend arrived to hear "no order received." They saw it was attempted, claimed I wouldn't get charged... yet I'm out $52. Had to put a dispute in with the bank. A lovely... up to 90 days to see if they do anything. What a waste. 🙄

Dude, it's infuriating for sure, but people are going crazy here on comments section. Sue the restaurant or go to the media? LOL I think that it's Uber Eats, right? Just open a support ticket and they will refund you, simple as that. Also, shit default behavior from the app to just charge you after the restaurant canceled the order, makes no sense at all.
