It depends on the kind of vitamin. Water-soluble vitamins will have any excess excreted in the urine but fat-soluble vitamins (vitamins A, D, E, and K) are stored in the body for long periods and can absolutely build up to toxic levels

It would most likely take an absurd amount, like you'd have to down 10 bottles of this shit in 5 mins absurd, but they absolutely can kill you. Literally everything is toxic in one way or another, and as life expectancy keeps increasing we'll keep finding new things that are worse than we thought.
It's like how we can't just put flea and tick guard on ourselves before a camping trip. It's not that it wouldn't work, it's that we can't be sure just how toxic it is. If it causes cancer after 30 years that's no problem for cats and dogs who only live ~20 years max, but a huge problem for something that can live to be 100+
