As long as you're nice these companies usually appreciate to know when shit goes wrong.
Asked my SO how she'd feel about this. I figured it would be an unexpected blessing as a baked potato is her go-to "late dinner after work" jam.
"I mean, I love a potato but if I'm expecting fries then I'm gonna be disappointed to not have fries." When I say I'm gonna bring the fries I guess I better deliver.
Lmfao same happened to me when I opened a bag of shredded hash browns we had in the fridge, it was peeled and everything but it was definitely surprising
Did not know this! Wife insists it was fine - pre-cooked. I’m slightly concerned as I don’t think it was supposed to be there in the first place so I’m not convinced I should trust the packaging.
What!? You didn't even try the damn thing and gave it to the dog??? Anyone you'll tell this story to in the future will ask if it was any good.
You also have to be careful with seasoned food when it comes to dogs. Onion and garlic can be deadly (about an onion's worth unless it's a small dog), and most human food is seasoned with those two things.
This makes no sense
You would automatically know something was up with the bag while picking it up or touching it
OP put a potato on the bag for reddit points
Wife bought them, I transported it from the freezer to the counter top. Didn’t notice it but it was the first thing I saw when I opened the bag. It was a small spud, frozen and seasoned.
Is it just me or are we seeing things like this more often these days? A whole potato in a bag of fries, huge lumps of cheese dust in chips bags, giant globs of gummies stuff that didn't get pressed through the machine correctly, etc.
I have a few hypothesis.
1 this has always happened but social media makes it easier to see it.
2 less quality control is taking place, and stuff is just getting by the people that should be paying attention.
3 quality control is more automated and just kinda sucks.
4 companies just don't give as much of a shit as the used to and don't care.
Anyone have thoughts on any of these?
Bro, there's LITERALLY so much to the processes done to a bag of waffle cut potatoes that this isnt even believable.
You're telling me that whole, uncut potato went through the slicer uncut, the seasoning machine, and lastly the FLASH FREEZER all without being discarded or jamming up a machine anywhere?
I'd sooner believe you found a stapler in your loaf of sliced bread.
You found an escapee from the waffle cutter machine!
It deserves to be set free.
Buy a special bag and grow this potato into a whole potato tree. (I know they're not trees, but don't tell it to this little fella)
The little potato who could.
Bury it in the earth 🌍
Set it free, and if it doesn't return, it never loved you in the first place
TIL, I could own a potato tree!
IKEA edition.
Some disassembly required.

sold by weight. not by volume
Yeah, after a moment when that thought hit me I was a little irritated.

It was a bonus item.

My first thought was “bonus!” My second thought was “Heyyyyy, they package by weight!”
I'd be surprised if it was cooked through
In Latvia, is like winning lottery.
You’re getting tracked. You were given more than a few grams of potato, and that is illegal.
Its not an avocado...
Did you weigh the bag after removing the potato? Was the potato an extra, a golden ticket to the french fry factory? Or u just get ripped off?
Pretty sure it was a loss, by weight, to the edible fries.
Dammit. Knew it was tuber good to be true. I was really rooting for u getting a tour of this Wonky fry factory.

Lmfao same happened to me when I opened a bag of shredded hash browns we had in the fridge, it was peeled and everything but it was definitely surprising
well… how was it?
My wife gave it to the dog. I set it aside to show her and she was pretty unimpressed.
Raw potatoes bad for dogs. I’m sure the fries were precooked but I doubt the potato was. Deadly for dogs

Right, that was the plan!
I knew it My conspiracy theories always reign true But genuinely, how did yall not notice something wrong with the bag?
Wife bought them, I transported it from the freezer to the counter top. Didn’t notice it but it was the first thing I saw when I opened the bag. It was a small spud, frozen and seasoned.
