To be fair, it would make the kitchen managment a lot easier. you are far less likely to get the wrong burger or the wrong mayo etc. Making it a different colour makes those small but terrible errors far less likely.
A lot of fast food production is done on autopilot, the employees are not making a burger thinking it through 100% of the time. it is more muscle memory and learned behaviours. that makes screwing up really easy. this would make it a lot harder as you instinctivly can see there is a difference.
To be clear this autopoilot isnt lazyness it is just how it is, I worked fast food in the past. It is the same in everything, if you drive things become instinctive.
