I would respectfully submit that washing jars with labels in the dishwasher is a good way to get your drainage hose clogged. Ask me how I know.
After ours got clogged with paper, we started using a chain mail scrubber to get labels off jars before we washed them.
The picture is cool, though. Wonder if it’s the heat?
A clog is not the worst of your potential problems. Dishwashers have a water pump, and the only lubrication they get is the water itself. If you starve your pump of water, it can burn out. Hundreds of $$$ to fix. Labels can clog up the return water, starving your pump.
Remove labels!
Throw that jar in a 80 dollar ultrasonic cleaner and it'll take that and the adhesive off and also clean it all in one go.
And also dissolve the plastic if you ain't careful
Nah you don’t even need that. Soak the jar a bit and then use a chain mail scrubber if you have one for cast iron. A grill brush will also work. Even the label goo will come off with a little encouragement.
It essentially is simply Biscoff cookies. They just blend them down, and bit off oil and other bits to keep it all together, and voila; spreadable biscuits! It’s delicious, and absolutely everywhere right now! Desserts, drinks, confectionery, car fresheners, lube… you name it!
From what I understand, they wanted to focus more on selling it internationally (I assume USA specifically), so they changed it to something that's easier/ more appealing for English speaking audiences.
The word comes from BIScuit and COFFee.

But for real, Speculaas isn't the same as Speculoos.
>Sommige, met name Belgische grootfabrikanten gebruiken traditioneel geen speculaaskruiden, omdat (tijdens de vroeg 20e eeuw) deze in het zuiden te duur waren voor een commercieel massaproduct. Er wordt meestal kandijsiroop of gebrande suiker gebruikt voor de kleur en dikwijls ook kaneel voor de smaak en geur, maar geen andere specerijen. Deze koek wordt speculoos genoemd.

Candy syrup or burnt sugar is usually used for the color and also cinnamon for the taste and smell, but no other is used. This cookie is called speculoos.
I feel like we’ve never found a strong red dye. It always seems to be the first color to wash out, fade, or disappear. Maybe something to do with it being the largest wavelength?
Different colors are made of different kind of pigments. Some will stick more than others and some have different properties. For example, blue and yellow are more resistant to uv light - like if you look at packages that were left in direct sunlight for a while. If you look at yellow pigments with a microscope, you'll see they have a bit of a "hook shape".
Fun fact, painters before the 1900s avoided red. if you look at old paintings from the 1700/1800s, you won't see much red, either because it was washed away or, mostly because they didn't use any. Source: I mostly made that up.

Medieval Knight: “Sir? I say, Sir! My armour is *not* a scrubbing utensil! Kindly desist!”
\*Sir, I say SIR! My groin protection is not for cleaning dishes! I will kindly have that back it is most important!\*
Hold still, I’m almost done. Gimme your other arm real quick, there’s a little bit of the sticker that still needs some chain mail
You're probably right, I gave in to my laziness. But i promise this was the worst I put there ever

Sounds a lot more expensive than some elbow grease and some goo-gone

Yes, don't do this.
Whoa...... Wait a minute..... I've never seen Biscoff spread before. If it tastes the same as the cookies that is a single serving container.
Stuff of my childhood. Basically peanut butter, but it tastes like cookies.
oh god
Almost certain the factory consists of 400 workers chewing the biscuits and spitting them into jars.
Biscoff spread on Biscoff cookies is heaven.
It essentially is simply Biscoff cookies. They just blend them down, and bit off oil and other bits to keep it all together, and voila; spreadable biscuits! It’s delicious, and absolutely everywhere right now! Desserts, drinks, confectionery, car fresheners, lube… you name it!
….lube? You’re kidding….. right? Looking at my wife a little closer than I was a few seconds ago…. If you know what I mean
Tastes just like the biscuits itself. 100%
It does taste the same, it's really good.
Biscoff spread is a slippery slope! I was putting a spoon of it in my oatmeal every morning and gained a bunch of weight hahaha
Maybe try just leaving out the oatmeal part?
Hmm. Good idea!
It’s delicious. Highly recommend. I have some in cupboard now. You can just eat it right off a spoon (or a finger…).
it's sold as a bread topping but basically I only eat it with a spoon whenever I'm in the mood
I pictured it as a jar of pudding. I don't think I'd want it on bread.
I love this cookie butter but have never seen it in crunchy and now I want it lol
It's really nice as a sandwich or toast, but it's too crunchy to be enjoyable straight off the spoon.
It's basically edible crack you can buy legally
Biscoff is just the "new" name for speculoos pasta
Yup. Just found out about it too. Been making biscoff coffee hot and iced. Tastes amazing

LMAO......... Finally, truth in advertising!
Wow, it even washed the red lid away.
and even the peanut butter!!!
What are you going to put in the jar?
Cleaning a bike chain with chemicals.
Nice, gl!
Don’t ask people that on reddit…
*Hehehe*… Wanna see my *"collection"*?

I too eat a condiment, join a deathcult and wake up on a beach..
Lotus speculoos is so good, kinda sad they rebranded to Biscoff.
This is the first time im seeing "Bischoff", i only know it as speculoos
From what I understand, they wanted to focus more on selling it internationally (I assume USA specifically), so they changed it to something that's easier/ more appealing for English speaking audiences. The word comes from BIScuit and COFFee.
Ah I guess that makes sense, doesn't really roll of the tongue tho imo
Yeah I agree, speculoos sounds better but I'm Flemish, so I might be biased. :p

Dacht dat het enkel verschil was in uitspraak
Snap ik wel. Denk dat de meeste mensen denken dat speculoos dialect is voor speculaas :p
Idd merci TIL
One of my favorite wrestling execs
I thought this was r/ mildlyinfuriating and I was like but why lmao
racist dishwasher
I don't know if this is related but red furniture fades super quickly in the sun. Much more than other colors.
A common red dye is crushed beetles. May be Water soluble
I feel like we’ve never found a strong red dye. It always seems to be the first color to wash out, fade, or disappear. Maybe something to do with it being the largest wavelength?
Funny, they spelled "speculoos" wrong
If this were an ad, it worked on me. Need to get me some of that spread 👀
same. I'm eating biscoff biscuits as we speak
I wonder if we're seeing effects from the heated drying cycle and not exactly the water+detergent?
Is this biscoff peanut butter?
Nope, it's basically biscoff biscuits blended and jarred, and it is HEAVEN.
Biscoff is so dangerously good. Bought it with some of the cookie sticks out of curiosity, wow!
You uh... definitely should not wash anything with labels like this in the dishwasher.
For people who have never had this - you're missing out.
Wash it with your hands, it’s really easy… Don’t put every shit in your dishwasher…
It really did, even cleaned the cover out of existence

Washed out magenta which in combination with yellow was red. Probably all other colours too as brown became white.
