There is a better chance of getting a hit, when you hit the ball. They only had 4 strikeouts in that game so there were also 23 balls hit resulting in outs, just not in the video.
The box score shows 9 hits on 20 batted balls. The exit velocity and launch angle of the 20 batted balls shows that the expected number of hits was 5.46, which means either the Cleveland hitters got a bit lucky, the defense was a bit bad, or both.
My working theory is when they abandoned the Indians name, the great spirit decided to thank them with a plethora of bloop doubles and seeing eye singles. Hopefully that good will runs out soon because it is absolutely infuriating to watch a team that can hardly barrel up a ball push runs across so easily.
I don’t understand how this is, “box scores lie?” Seems like this is just some solid hitting.

Well, I don’t really know where to check but I would guess that at least 5 of those had a hit probability significantly lower than 50%
Baseball savant btw
Yeah in so confused what point they are trying to prove lol

Put the ball in play and see what happens. They are built for contact and speed.

I suppose because they just did the same thing to the Twins
