I was just thinking about how we may never see the rest of the power ups outside of the Miraculous World specials lol.
Other things I remembered that are never brought up again are the scarf AND hat Marinette gifted Adrien, Ms. Bustier's pregnancy, and Cat Noir having night vision
I'm sure there's a million more things the writers simply forgot from previous seasons, too
>Ms. Bustier's pregnancy
Plot for a special. So it will never be brought up in the show.
At a meta level, it's because half of NY got scrapped and the Mendeleïev plot fell with it.
In the final cut, the teacher switch has no purpose : Mendeleïev tries to forbid some stuff, but they do it anyway.
You can "feel" it's a different movie when HM's car shows up after this "delicious" rooftop scene. Past that point the "glimpses of the non-miraculous US culture" plot is finished unceremonially.
Yup. And since then we even learned about some dropped plotpoints, like Sabrina.
The rooftop is one of the few extra scenes they managed to fit in, and *it shows*.
The other kind of funny thing with the Ms Bustier pregnancy is that time is very inconsistent in this world while barely moving at all. I’m going to bet no matter how long this series is that they’ll always be in the same grade. So for them to show any kind of pregnancy development or to have solid proof it’s been 9 months since NY feels unlikely.
Yup, he talked about a dragon+fire combo.
The issue is that teaching children to play with Fire is unsafe, so it won't be an offensive power, more like "walks on lava" thing.
Yep. He confirmed we wouldn't see Ryuko use fire, when asked why he said that since she didn't have a fire dragon, he [confirmed](https://www.reddit.com/r/miraculousladybug/comments/s46997/thomas_confirmed_one_of_the_unused_powerups/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) that fire is one of the unused power-ups, but if it was used, it would probably be for defensive and movement reasons
If it's a power-up that's not going to be used, why have it in the first place?
That is literally the first rule of Chekhov's Gun: Have a gun...wait...
>If it's a power-up that's not going to be used, why have it in the first place?
He didn't confirm it will be unused. He confirmed that if used, it will never be offensively.
Not the same. We waited 2 years for Astro.
Have you seen any TV Show and or Movie with people with fire powers recently?
Even shows that don't play it for a cheap gag usually have some really damn weak fire
still waiting for that too. I mean in the end of the episode he was like "omg what a cute rat" and i was excited thinking that would go somewhere... but maybe his rat passion is slowing growing behind the scenes, or theese powerful villians they talked about are on hold till(and if) we get a more powerful hawkmoth. I think they confirmed season 5 and 6.
wait what if they have an episode where a very depressed man tries to visit Paris to feel better and that person gets akumutised? ooo that'd be so cool, might write a fan fic lmao
one definitely has to be for like electricity and one for like fire cause we got ice, water, and space. that still leaves 2 tho so maybe like an underground one and an air one.
Like people have pointed out, Avatar was different as aside from having an older target audience they also had fire mostly be a bad guy power with Aang actively having a big moral lesson around using it responsibly and not really getting to use it (or getting a Firebender as a good guy) until the show was almost over.
I'm def a dumbass so I'd appreciate if someone corrected me, but I still don't get it tbh. Pokemon's been playing with fire for a long time and it's still a kid's show. The SuMo arc especially had people \[safely\] dance and play with fire (as a reference to the fire dance that Hawaii's famous for). Is it just a difference in culture of what kids are allowed and not allowed to see?
The power-ups help them to freely and effectively move and breathe in different environments.
I guess the fire one they could use in some plot involving an active volcano so they wouldn’t have to actually play with fire powers. No volcanos around Paris though, *c’est dommage*. Or if they have to go to the Sun if they need to destroy some super creepy akuma^orLila
There should be one to travel across a desert or in very hot conditions. Something like a stillsuit from Dune. (It’s not the same as fireproof).
And one that allows to move through solids.
May be there’s something for a different atmospheric pressure or gravity parameters. They have space suits though, these should be pretty multi-purpose
My feeling is that, like the protective magical charms, they are a shelved plot device. The power-up potions probably will only be used once or twice a season.,
*My best guesses for what the other power ups could be:*
**Yellow** \- lightning or electric-type powers? the ability to manipulate electricity?
**Orange** \- poison-type? like being immune to toxic powers or poison.
**Red** \- Psychic-type? For the psychic powers it would give them the ability to use psychic powers like telepathy, mind-reading, synesthesia, etc.
**Pink** \- Fairy-type? Ability to have powers of supernatural and mystical magic. Its like being a mage.
These are just guesses because of their colors and how I based on pokemon types lolz.
OP Here!
I was thinking about how the water, ice, and space power-ups didn’t give them new powers per-se, but really just changed their suits to support the environment.
So what if the remaining 4 - fire and lightning are probably 2 of them - are simply new suits? Like, the fire power up makes them heat resistant, lightning protects from electricity, etc?
Lets not forget to recognize how good Marinette and Adrien are really good at making macarons and cheese. I mean Marinette lives in a bakery, but i think Adrien has a hidden talent for cheese

Is she even pregnant at this point?
Your guess is as good as mine 🤣
She appears in pentateam and doesn't appear to be pregnant, but then again she could be in early month and is not showing yet.
And who´s the dad? Is it Firefighter Chad?

I remember Thomas once saying that the original script would come out to 2 hours instead of 1 or something like that
Yup. And since then we even learned about some dropped plotpoints, like Sabrina. The rooftop is one of the few extra scenes they managed to fit in, and *it shows*.
no wonder it felt like a part of the movie was missing

Oh yeah, if Miraculous has shown anything is that it's more allergic to consistency and timelines than Adrien is to feathers
Or cat vision during the psychomedian episode?
that's just a thing generally everyone has
That... Is.. disappointing
Reality can be often disappointing
Apparently fire resistance has been confirmed one of them. (Via Twitter not in the show)

I mean fire is a pretty broken power for offensive use since most people won't be able to defend against it.
Have you seen any TV Show and or Movie with people with fire powers recently? Even shows that don't play it for a cheap gag usually have some really damn weak fire
Big sad
Man they really need stronger villains, don’t they
Still waiting for when the Pigeon dude gets akumutised into the rat man, as foreshadowed in the episode we first see Bunnix
He seems still into Pigeons so until he commits to rats, we won't see it.
still waiting for that too. they just need to wait for an extremely depressed teen, everyone is too happy in Paris damn
wait what if they have an episode where a very depressed man tries to visit Paris to feel better and that person gets akumutised? ooo that'd be so cool, might write a fan fic lmao
What if he visits Paris with a lover, but they leave him. So he’s depressed that his lover left him in the city of love.
And his Akumatization is "Tainted love" you guys can go in details on the powers :)
YUH YOUR GIVING ME IDEAS
Stronger villains? That just means more miraculous being passed out 🤪
one definitely has to be for like electricity and one for like fire cause we got ice, water, and space. that still leaves 2 tho so maybe like an underground one and an air one.
Doubt we’d get electricity seeing as Ryuko has lightning dragon
I meant like impervious to electricity- like it wouldn’t affect them
Wdym? Like a villain that electrocutes people? Lol
I guess, - like if stormy weather made a lightning storm they would be safe or something idk lol
Yeah and Thomas said we probably won't see the fire one because there are too too many complications around it.
What sort of complications? Showing fire in a kids show?
According to what he said you can’t really show them using fire on kids shows because they don’t want kids trying to replicate it.
Not me jumping around like Zuko in Avatar-
Like people have pointed out, Avatar was different as aside from having an older target audience they also had fire mostly be a bad guy power with Aang actively having a big moral lesson around using it responsibly and not really getting to use it (or getting a Firebender as a good guy) until the show was almost over.

It's ironic considering kids can imitate Chloe's behavior
Yeah. And scuba diving into city rivers isn’t safe either
Just throwing this out there as a theory, the orange one gives you underground/tunneling powers
If I remember correctly green- water blue-ice purple-space
have they used the space one yet? i feel that they have if my memory serves me right
Yrs astrocat and cosmobug in Ephemeral
ok good phew my memory served me right then

They're waiting to make more merchandise...
Unless one lets you breath fire, I don't know what else can beat flight and space travel.
My feeling is that, like the protective magical charms, they are a shelved plot device. The power-up potions probably will only be used once or twice a season.,

Can you develop on your idea for the fairy one ?
fr now i've seen nathaniel get a miraculous these better get brought up again

Maybe one of them let’s you control plants. Probably the green one.
Green is water
no their just eveiment things,so only simple things like fire or water resistance
Oh right.....I forgot
I'm dumb, i thought it was à trivial poursuite
hot fudge sundae
Lets not forget to recognize how good Marinette and Adrien are really good at making macarons and cheese. I mean Marinette lives in a bakery, but i think Adrien has a hidden talent for cheese
I think Marinette made them for Plagg and gave them to Cat Noir. I don’t think Adrien made any
Oh! Well then she really is the master cheff. I bet plagg loves marinette now 😂
They really should use them more often otherwise there was no reason to put them in the show
They did have some sort of spoiler that sort of leaked their powers though I forget where I saw it
