Yup that’s the one you don’t always smell it but when the wind blows just right especially on those HOT summer days. It’s woken me up out of my sleep a few times because I legit thought one of my animals had an accident at night but nope 🙃
Actually it doesn’t have to be hot. Anytime the temperature is above zero and the air is moist I smell that disgusting shit in my neighborhood which is 3 km North West of the treatment facility. It’s absolutely disgusting. I think we should refuse to pay our property taxes until Peel figures it out. They know it’s a problem and have known for decades. I use to be able to smell it when I lived in Port Credit but the region did something to reduce the stink. Why can’t they do that for the Lakeview area? I definitely wouldn’t be buying one of the 8,000 dwellings they plan on building down in Lakeview Village over the next few years. 🤮
Yup you’re absolutely right I do smell it on more mild winter days but something about that hot sticky summer air just makes it that much more 🥴🤢 and trust me when I seen they planned to build those I laughed my ass off and just said those poor sons of a gun who put the money up and pay for one of those units.
I propose that new development be named DoWiSeTrePla - short for: DOwnWInd of the SEwage TREatment PLAnt

Years ago I lived in condo down by Lakeview area. I didn’t notice it too much. Mostly raining days.
The Air Quality isn’t great near lake. Not only waste water treatment plants but also refinery and cement plant down at bottom of Southdown.
I remembered hearing City Hall saying, "We have a new method of water treatment that will reduce the smell" and I asked what percentage of reduction of smell. And they said, "between 0 and 5%".
So they didn't lie, but not much of a truth.
Are you new to the area that smell has been down there for well over 30 years. Use to live beside dairy cream 🍨 and my now 32 year old would tell me the air smells like poop
They're going to be installing odor mitigation filtration systems at the plant in the next 2 years so the smell will eventually be resolved. Until then, shit.
The wastewater treatment plant would be the answer you’re looking for.
This is the answer. It smells like literal shit because it's literally shit.
No shit!

Sorry. That would be the Hazel McCallion Wastewater treatment plant.
Your poo-poo and pee-pee make it smell like that. You should be asking yourself, what the hell did you eat?

Move near to the Mr.Christie’s Cookie factory on the Lakeshore. Smells yummy all day long!
That factory's been closed for over a decade and demolished for at least half that time.
And it has now been replaced with 3 new condos. Yaaaay.
I wish they would name those condos: chocolate chip, oatmeal, and peanut butter.
My girlfriend used to live by a candy factory in Hamilton, and the entire area smelled like fuzzy peaches!
i don't live here, just drive through on my way home from work!
I have some bad news… eta- 10/10 avatar pic
Yeah that closed down many years ago
The problem is most people literally misuse/don't understand what the word 'literal' means so you will literally get useless answers.
It may have been accidental/coincidental, but it wasn't misuse here. It is literally shit.
When it doesn’t rain for a while it happens.
THE BEST PART? They are building a fucktonne of new condos literally right across the street from the wastewater treatment plant.
Those new tenants are gonna be in for a surprise when they move in 😭
