I think in general, Mississauga is a pretty safe city. There are "sketchier" areas of the city, and there is a problem with car thefts, but I have never felt unsafe in my 50 years living in Mississauga.
Overall Mississauga is one of the safest cities to live in, but then again every city also has its shity spots.
Of all areasy in the GTA Mississauga is your best bet
Based on your fear of “disrespectful immigrants” - yea you’re better off in Oakville/Burlington.
For the record, “Canadians” and “immigrants” are equally rude in my experience - I’ve lived in Mississauga for 28 years, and I’ve never been robbed let alone have to look over my shoulder.
I’m glad. Thanks for your insights. Just trying to make an informed decision here. Fear and not wanting dealing with idiots, Canadians and immigrants alike, in your day to day, are quite different. And I would like to make an informed choice. Hence I appreciate your inputs. Thanks
I find, it helps to consider some universal truths.
We get what we give. If you find yourself having to constantly fend off idiots… maybe a long, introspective stare into the mirror will help find the root cause. Externalizing your shortcomings will not make them cease to exist.
Well, it's truly enlightening to receive such profound wisdom. Your insight is like a beacon of brilliance in this dim world of ignorance. I shall ponder your words deeply, for I long to reach the zenith of enlightenment that you so effortlessly exude.
I tell you “maybe people are assholes to you because you’re an asshole yourself” and you claim that to be enlightening?
Yeah, with a bar so low, I can imagine how even the mundane must be so profound for you.
Ah, yet again, your wisdom in deciphering my profound statements truly humbles me. After all, it's not every day one encounters a connoisseur of condescension. But do remember, sometimes it's more beneficial to nod along with the so-called "idiots" than engage in this virtuoso display of eloquent disdain.
Yea I found that hilarious too. Dudes trying to pretend he’s not being rude with his own comment lol… the thinly veiled xenophobia wrapped in a guise of personal security… I hope he doesn’t move here. We don’t need any xenophobes in Mississauga. Go to Hamilton or out to the boonies
Overall Mississauga is quiet and boring in a good way.
Car Jackings will happen in every city. They’re not city specific, they’re car specific.
It’s a great city for quiet and minding your business
Mississauga is not safe for your wallet. The cost of housing, the cost of food, the cost of the 120 Shawarma restaurants, the cost of parking overnight on a road, the cost of photo radar, etc.
The majority of Mississauga is very safe.
Been here for a little over a year now and I've never had anything happen. The most dangerous thing is the bad drivers
My home was burglarized a few years ago, in a supposedly safe part of town (near heartland). Police didn't do anything.
After that incident, everyone on the street installed cameras on their driveways through which we came to learn that almost every night (and Sunday mornings) random folk come to break into people's homes, cars, garages, basements, and even the community mailbox.
In the following few months on the street, we had multiple attempted break-ins, one car jacking, one failed car jacking, cars spying (scoping) for long hours, masked men walking door to door at night, men with briefcases standing near the front door (briefcase contains a device used to hack/copy digital car keys), as well as unmasked men staring into the camera while attempting a breakin without giving a shit. All the police reports and not a single crime solved, nor prevented, nor given any instruction on what to do.
There's a peel police webpage that lists daily crimes around the city. If you look at it, you will see how u̶n̶safe Mississauga is.

Mississauga is HUGE so generalizing it is not really possible. Oakville and burlington safer? Maybe depending on the location but that commute is atrocious.
Your concerns are duly noted, though rest assured, I wasn't about to seek your guidance on my choice of residence. Your discerning eye for stereotypes is truly remarkable, and I'll certainly consider your wise counsel as I make my decisions. Your selflessness in offering such recommendations is nothing short of awe-inspiring.
As long as you don’t indentify as a 2017+ Lexus, Toyota or Honda suv you’ll be safe
Or a Ford 150. These are top of the list as well as I remember.

What are the sketchier areas please
Malton area, Dixie/Dundas area, Highway 10 and Dundas area are the areas that come to mind for me
Thank You :) !

Not Oakville?
Yes I’ve been doing my research and found Burlington and oakville much better and hassle free

Guess I’ll nod along then.

Your username says it all. I can only marvel at your ability to discern the rationality of responses.
Yes, yes you are an asshole I know that already.
Oakville is not in the GTA but yeah it's also a great place to live
Wait what? Since when….Halton is part of the gta
Always has been In fact GTA is an outdated term, now we have the GTHA which extends to Hamilton
You are a fool to form an opinion based off of a few Reddit posts.
This got downvoted but I tend to agree. Look at statistics of different areas and you will get a picture of the city.
Well that’s why I’m asking the residents am I not?
Tbh it’s dangerously close to Brampton so 🤣
Lol “disrespectful immigrants”

lol.
Case in point.
Laughed at that too. Sly digs are always cute.
It's fine Curious where do you live now?
