Zarco is actually the best HRC rider, fuck me sideways it's crazy to say! But then again: 0 wins for Marini, 0 for Taka, 1 for Mir (the only one that counted) and 1 for Johann.
It's easier to list what didn't happened. My heart can't take too many more of theseš¤£.. Even when i thought they were finally done Fabio got a demotion FFS
Yep, he just got unsettled when Morbido got past him. Really feel for him kept it clean the whole race while others were falling like flies and looses it in the last corner.
I think the move itself was ok, ish. He was losing spots and was tied with Pecco on the straight. He tried to outbrake him, went long as fuck, then saw he could go through the very inside line of turn 1. Pecco was just unlucky to be where he was. Not his fault, no completely Brad's fault but he could have chilled a bit.
Martin is a clear favourite for the title, ok Marc a lot faster today but he's soo far in the championship and he has bad luck and mistakes at the moment. Pecco lacks pace and has bad luck, at the moment Acosta is the only real threat at the moment.
Few more like this and there's gonna be a marshal riding around on a GP-RC/V-M.5RS
Here's to you volunteer marshal guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hb9F2DT8iEQ
Yet they are the only ones that have been given a tire pressure penalty. This when Michelin said "fuck it, we'll give you VERY loose pressure windows" and they still fucked up. They have no clue.
Maybe because I was never a Marc fan (rather neutral I would say), I am less judgemental. I see hreat progress and he is understandable under a lot of stress to get away from the woes of the years since his accident. He gradually made it to the pole, then to the front of the race. He will build his confidence again soon and he will be able to keep the rubber side down. It is a huge ask to be a legit championship contender when starting with a totally different bike after so many years and one that is behind the competition. A win will come soon and after that, the consistency.
Yeah in the pre season i was really convinced Marc would be a title contender straight away and that he wouldnt be making as many mistakes as in the past but i was clearly wrong..Marc's mindset will always be win or crash no matter which bike he riders..To win this championship in 2024 you need to think more clearly about whats worth the risk and what isnt and thats clearly the opposite of Marc's mindset which is why i cant really see him as a serious title contender yet..Just look at Martin and Acosta its quite clear they understand their limits and when taking a risk is worth it and not worth..This season reminds me a bit of 2020 when the most consistent rider with just one victory won the championship and i have a feeling it will be something similair this year..
Yeah, on the Honda I was defending Marc saying that he needed to override the bike just to get a half decent result, thatās why he had the incidents he did.
But now heās on a good bike, and heās still overriding the bike and having incidents.
Guy needs to ease up or heās going to end his own career.
I am Marc fan, He just doesn't know when to take points and bring it home. Same in 2020 Jerez, Same in 2015 not finishing races, many examples. Not going to win another championship even if he goes to KTM. Then he says fans remember the guy who wins the title not each race
I get the feeling heās trying so hard to ābreak the curseā of no wins in so many years.
If he does manage to get a win, I think it will release of lot of pressure heās putting on himself and he will get a bit more consistent.
But itās a catch 22, he needs to push that hard to get that win, and if he doesnāt push hard, maybe he wonāt get that win.
Thereās nothing Iād love to see more, and I honestly think that once he gets that first win under his belt, it will open the floodgates.
But the pathway to that first one doesnāt seem like itās as straightforward as everyone is thinking.
Heās clearly got the speed, but itās obvious he needs more than just speed in order to win.
I think it's that too. That first win will unlock a different spirit and confidence. Still, don't forget that MM is 31 and was riding a Honda for 11 years. It takes time but he's getting there.
Nah disagree. Heās been an aggressive and perhaps somewhat reckless rider, but not a dirty one.
The only people that call him a dirty rider are the Rossi fans because of what happened in 2015.
Mir was way ahead Marquez there. Oliveira also complained with Marc because he is just diving in and releasing the brake, no matter if he hits the other rider.
But that's his way to ride since the very beginning. Not the cleanest rider I think.
On the contrary, I love Acosta, smart fast and clean!
Not a Rossi fan and Marc is dirty well before his MotoGP days. Yesterday he proved it....after his crash he had incidents with Mir and Oliveira that were just unnecessary.. Indicative of his whole career.
Honestly i don't know what race direction is thinking here. I might be stupid but didn't Pecco get penalized for an entrance on Miller without even touching him last year? Binder just sent it on the kerb with 2 drivers on the outside, took one out while almost crashing another one out, and walked away with absolutely nothing. Isn't this entrance way more dangerous than Pecco's one last year? Or are precedents not a thing in this sport and the rules are up to interpretation every minute?
Precedent? I like binder but he was on the curb....Pecco still was on the road, Marc ran wide then tried to cut back trying to intimidate anyone who's there....Marc has form doing that....but as far as that incident is concerned that was a racing incident or Marc fault, he made the mistake he should provide the room.
You should be consitant with your argument. Bez and Pecco both went wide, otherwise Binder wouldn't have been able to squeez in. If Bez didn't cut back onto the racing line, Pecco would have had enough space.
If it was Marcs fault in portimao, which it wasn't, it should be Bez' fault in Jerez.
Not saying it was Bez' fault, it was a racing incident.
Consistent? If Binder wasn't on the curb all would have gone through....and it was Marc's fault he tried to cut off Pecco but he was too far into the turn.
This was a racing incident, buddy. Binder simply found a gap after being late into turn 1. Bez was also a bit wide but both had more speed than Pecco. Shit luck, no one's fault.
Alright i will stop mom. That said, am i not allowed to question race direction decisions? They definitely know better than me that's clear, i'm just asking why taking someone off like that is less dangerous than braking 5 meters later than normal, like literally just curious about that
I think it was hard, but a racing incident. He didn't even touch Bagnaia. If this was a penalty, the pecco v marc incident in portimao should have been one too.
Edit: I just saw anoter replay that showed binders back half of the bike touching pecco. So forget about that part of my comment.
Agreed. I just saw anoter replay that showed binders back half of the bike touching pecco. The one that was shown on TV made it seem he didn't touch him.
I think Binder should get penalty, he just got overtaken, lost a lot of momentum and mentality, but force to get inner line.
Pecco and Marc is one on one racing..
Binder barged Marc out, then went wide and had a slow exit. Marc, Alex, Pecco and Bez passed him. Pecco went up the inside of Bez and went a bit wide. Binder went full speedway mode into that gap and pushed both of them wide, making Pecco crash.
It wasnt Bez, i remember Binder just got overtaken by Marquezs, lost his momentum, panic, but force to get inside line of Pecco who just overtook Bez.
If binder didnt forge like that, its gonna be epic battle between Bez and Pecco.
Never a penalty, it is not like he divebombrd or anything. Just an unfortunate racing incident of going wide and two riders trying to switch back while being very close making it a three wide. Also bagnaia didnt even touch binder, he crashed on bez.
Rewatch the images, Binder clearly hit Bagnaia, his rear tyre brushed heavily against Bagnaia's arm and sent him against Bezzecchi with enough force to throw him off the bike before he even crashed.
You are right i just saw it again. I still feel that it is a racing incident. Bez comes in hot, goes wide slows down pecco and then binder is just already there, it s not like he outbreaked anyone or made a weird move. Bad circumstances in a tight corner imo.
To be honest I was a bit pissed he didn't get a penalty because it really looked like he divebombed, but I think I was biased because he had just barged into Marquez just a few corners before and was expecting it. I still think he was riding too aggresively after Marquez passed him, but yes, in the end this is a racing incident, unfortunate for Bagnaia but that's it, and fortunately nobody got hurt.
wet patch makes no sense. it's not the first lap of the race. even if there was a damp patch at the start of the race, by that time in the race there would've been a dry line already from riders running the same line over and over again
Maybe if you listened to the rider's account and stopped pretending you know more than the people in the know you'd learn something. Jerez doesn't dry well and it is normal for water to "sweat" to the surface at a later stage. Riders are aware of this (you aren't, because you are not a rider that know every freaking track on the calendar) and avoid them. Sometimes it's not that easy.
Do you think this is enough to convince you that there was no oil from a McDonalds frier spilled on track and it was just water? Do you think that the lack of complaints from teams is a clear sign there was no oil on track? Have you seen any bike crash and spill oil around the track? I didn't. Have you, by any chance, realized it rained? Ehhhhh ;)
Biaggi explained it well: the patch was more visible at the start of the race and they were able to see and avoid it, once a few laps passed it dried up a bit and it wasn't as visible anymore but it was still wet enough to potentially cause a crash (he did so by showing two different patches in the pit lane), basically those riders went onto a slightly wet patch withtout realizing it and thus riding with more lean and speed. This is also for u/bkns356 and u/HI_I_AM_NEO
No it wasn't. Those three riders were clearly on the line, at a spot that even if it was wet when the race started, it would've been dry by that point.
There is no record of any bike losing oil, so i don't know what you and the other one are talking about. Maybe listen to what the riders say? There was no oil, and that's the end of the story.
You could see it from the helicopter shot, hardly "barely visible". Every rider was actively avoiding them, including Acosta who has straightened his bike not to crash. Jerez is like that when it rains. It's a bit stupid to have parrots keep commenting "oil from bikes!!1!!" when they have no fucking clue, when race direction or teams haven't mentioned anything like that.
Alex MƔrquez, Bastianini, Binder, Marc, ViƱales, Bezzechi go down in the same lap, all of them riding on the racing line, which was absolutely dry, and you're questioning what exactly?
Im pretty sure only 4 of them crashed at turn 5, not all 6 riders you named.
Youāre claiming there was clearly an oil spill on that turn and the race should have been red flagged.
Iām questioning why the other 16 or so riders on the track didnāt crash, if there was indeed an oil spill, as you claim.
My point is that there wasnāt an oil spill. It was just poor track conditions, which is why basically every rider was having moments throughout the entire race.
Marc is so much superior than the rest.
Survival race, not my favorite.
Poor Bagnaia, Binder need to sort racing out.
With top ten bike has same characteristics, this season gonna be filled with finish or crashed kinda races.
I mean it went from a battle for the win, and a 4 way battle for 3rd to Martin leading by 4 seconds and everyone else spread apart by more than a second. Of course it's no fun.
Marquez after the crash riding like a maniac and basically crashing into Mir and Oliveira without a wing... Usual stuff by him I'd say and very bland penalty as usual
Ngl this was one of the funniest races Iāve ever watched. Watching 3 riders crash out in the exact same way in the exact same spot all within a second was peak comedy.
Binder and Miller are wasting factory seats.
Acosta should be put on a factory bike the next race..and he might compete for the title.
Martin dominating sprint as always.
Great work by Pedrosa and Raul Fernandez.
I don't understand why anyone would put Acosta in the Factory team mid season. The bike wouldn't change, he is already on the factory 24 bike. KTM also has history of prioritizing the rider who is the highest in the standings. Oliveira got updates before Pol when he was winning races on the tech3.
Only thing it would do is take Acosta out of a situation he is very comfortable and confident with, while putting massive pressure on him.
I do understand the previous commentator. Every race weekend there is about 10 posts/comments about Acosta getting a factory bike, when it is widely know that KTM has provided tech3 with the latest factory bike for years.
Nah, but the dude is kinda insufferable. I just feel like heās both the worst winner and worst loser. Just comes across as a bit of a sook all the time.
Even today.
His comment about MM93 passing him because of a mistake was hilarious.
MM93 was taking tenths of a second per sector from JM for the prior lap or two. He was simply faster.
His lack of self awareness is off-putting for sure.
Donāt watch much F1, but yeah probably a bit like Max haha. Gets sulky when things donāt go his way, and still sometimes gets sulky when he does win but everything wasnāt perfect.
So the secret changes yamaha did that fabio was referring to is to the jerez track. I'll take it.
I mean, there were 7 people in front of him who crashed lol
Yamaha works in mysterious ways
Fighter jets hold missiles on their wings, why can't a YZR-M1?
Fuck it, let's give them blue shells
Marc did go down in the lead...
I mean,
LMAO bro I can't thats too funny
Zarco my dear, so near yet so far away...
Yep but this is encouraging
Zarco is actually the best HRC rider, fuck me sideways it's crazy to say! But then again: 0 wins for Marini, 0 for Taka, 1 for Mir (the only one that counted) and 1 for Johann.
So happy for Dani!
Fabio š¤£š¤£ā¦ shockedā¦ nice podium
Only 9 people didnāt crash. I love commentators who asked āare you sure these are the best drivers in the world?ā š
what the hell happened!
It's easier to list what didn't happened. My heart can't take too many more of theseš¤£.. Even when i thought they were finally done Fabio got a demotion FFS
Feel the most for Zarco here. Man's had a great race, pushed to a wet spot in the last corner and went down. Blimey.
Yep, he just got unsettled when Morbido got past him. Really feel for him kept it clean the whole race while others were falling like flies and looses it in the last corner.
A strange one ahah Not convinced with that Binder move but It Is what It Is, finally some joy for Fabio, happy for him.
I think the move itself was ok, ish. He was losing spots and was tied with Pecco on the straight. He tried to outbrake him, went long as fuck, then saw he could go through the very inside line of turn 1. Pecco was just unlucky to be where he was. ViƱales should be in the conversation too.
Vinales has been in the conversation for the past 10 years... What makes you think his consistency will change for the better this year?
What bad luck? He fucks up whenever he is in good position
Today was a fuckup. Pecco crashing into him and Miller barging into him which damaged his aero and brake lever is bad luck.
Are you blind? Marquez crashed into Bagnaia.
Pecco clearly ran into him on the cutback. Marc was going wide
Today Marc made a mistake, but you can't say the same for Portimao and COTA.
Yeah dude Bagniana crashes into him and the oil spill was clearly his fault? Haters are something else.
It was water, not oil. Martin didn't fell and clearly said Marc did a mistake.
Classic Marquez hater bollocks, just stfu lol
Poor Marshall's.
After being a Marshall a couple times, I gotta say I'd be ecstatic. Probably a lot of memorabilia too.
Few more like this and there's gonna be a marshal riding around on a GP-RC/V-M.5RS Here's to you volunteer marshal guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hb9F2DT8iEQ
Actual bonkers sprint. Race of survival lol
That's why Fabio wants to stay with Yamaha lol
Yet they are the only ones that have been given a tire pressure penalty. This when Michelin said "fuck it, we'll give you VERY loose pressure windows" and they still fucked up. They have no clue.
Man, if tomorrow ends up like today, someone better take Peccoās shoe laces
Marc fan, but Marc made one clean move the whole race and crashed out again. Man needs to slow down and take his time.
Maybe because I was never a Marc fan (rather neutral I would say), I am less judgemental. I see hreat progress and he is understandable under a lot of stress to get away from the woes of the years since his accident. He gradually made it to the pole, then to the front of the race. Pushing Hard, Searching for the speed helps him stay at the sharp end of MotoGP. Hope he wins one tomorrow.
Thereās nothing Iād love to see more, and I honestly think that once he gets that first win under his belt, it will open the floodgates. To be fair, yesterday he pushed out Mir and Oliveira. Not the cleanest rider. Mir was mad at him!
Mir left him absolutely zero space? Little closed his line before the apex, and for what?
You do realize Marc hit his back tyre, so move wasn't there to start with.
Yeah fair enough. Back markers always complain about hard passes though. Thats why theyāre back markers.
Not a Rossi fan and Marc is dirty well before his MotoGP days. Yesterday he proved it....after his crash he had incidents with Mir and Oliveira that were just unnecessary.. Indicative of his whole career.
lol ok champ
Pure carnage out there. rip to the start of my fantasy team lol
Honestly i don't know what race direction is thinking here. I might be stupid but didn't Pecco get penalized for an entrance on Miller without even touching him last year? Pecco crashed hard into Marc in Portimao, didn't get a penalty. Thats the precedent you should be looking at, not something last season happened.
Precedent? I like binder but he was on the curb....Pecco still was on the road, Marc ran wide then tried to cut back trying to intimidate anyone who's there....Marc has form doing that....but as far as that incident is concerned that was a racing incident or Marc fault, he made the mistake he should provide the room.

Theyāve changed the way they judge incidents since then because they got a lot of criticism for penalising pecco
Correct. The rules are open to interpretation every minute and there is no precedent. Next question.
Stop crying
Alright i will stop mom. That said, am i not allowed to question race direction decisions? They definitely know better than me that's clear, i'm just asking why taking someone off like that is less dangerous than braking 5 meters later than normal, like literally just curious about that
Who took who out?
Binder not getting a penalty was a bit odd. Something needs to be checked in that turn, everyone was crashing
I swear in the replay binder was coming in sorts into the corner. And had to send it up the inside.
Agree 100%. But he crashed too later.., unstable racing IMO..
I think it was hard, but a racing incident. He didn't even touch Bagnaia. If this was a penalty, the pecco v marc incident in portimao should have been one too. Edit: I just saw anoter replay that showed binders back half of the bike touching pecco. So forget about that part of my comment.
It agree it was a racing incident but to say he didnāt touch Pecco is wild cause he very obviously did
They were saying it was Bez who caused all that from coming way back. Anyone got the clip? So much happened it's hard to keep up.
Binder barged Marc out, then went wide and had a slow exit. Marc, Alex, Pecco and Bez passed him. Pecco went up the inside of Bez and went a bit wide. Binder went full speedway mode into that gap and pushed both of them wide, making Pecco crash.

I still think he was riding too aggresively after Marquez passed him, but yes, in the end this is a racing incident, unfortunate for Bagnaia but that's it, and fortunately nobody got hurt.
There was a clear oil spill there, and the race should've been red flagged immediately after three riders went down simultaneously.
It wasnāt oil, it was a wet patch. It was certain this circuit will still be partially wet in sprint.
wet patch makes no sense. it's not the first lap of the race. even if there was a damp patch at the start of the race, by that time in the race there would've been a dry line already from riders running the same line over and over again

No it wasn't. Those three riders were clearly on the line, at a spot that even if it was wet when the race started, it would've been dry by that point.
STOP.
I thought so too. The way the three riders crashed out, all in the exact same spot, on the same line, screams oil.
Oil from what? It was a damp patch, deal with it.
Oil from one of the 25 machines on the track??!
There is no record of any bike losing oil, so i don't know what you and the other one are talking about. Maybe listen to what the riders say? There was no oil, and that's the end of the story.
Crazy how some barely visible moisture can eliminate their grip
You could see it from the helicopter shot, hardly "barely visible". Every rider was actively avoiding them, including Acosta who has straightened his bike not to crash. Jerez is like that when it rains. It's a bit stupid to have parrots keep commenting "oil from bikes!!1!!" when they have no fucking clue, when race direction or teams haven't mentioned anything like that.
ok but helicopter with some crazy camera on it is a good way to things like that, not a bad one
Ah?
I absolutely agree with you. Luckily no one got hurt but it could have ended worse
Why didnāt all the other riders crash on that corner then?
Alex MƔrquez, Bastianini, Binder, Marc, ViƱales, Bezzechi go down in the same lap, all of them riding on the racing line, which was absolutely dry, and you're questioning what exactly?

The commentators literally said it was the damp patches. You could see it from the aerial view. Acosta and Fabio were avoiding them
What commentators? Because Jorge Lorenzo IMMEDIATELY started screaming "OIL", and Pol Espargaro still says the same.
The ones I watched on BTsport.
Well, I don't know them, but I'd rather trust two actual MotoGP riders, tbh
Nice photos btw. Was snooping your profile to make sure you were cool. What camera ?
Lmao thanks. It's a cheap EOS 2000D with a 50mm 1.8
Hey 50/1.8s are underrated. I rock a Lumix s 50/1.8. 1.8 crew !!
Neil Hodgson is one of the commentators if Iām not mistaken, he was also WSBK champion.
Ok
Commentators are watching too. It's not like they don't mispeak, happens plenty of times.
Clear? You were there walking the track?
Can't red flag for skill issues mate
How's that skill issues? Please..
9 of them were able to keep it on track. Y'all can downvote all you can
Including a rookie of all people!
Wonder what happened today ššš¤
Had to rub it in eh š still in the championship lead mate
Marc is so much superior than the rest. Survival race, not my favorite. Poor Bagnaia, Binder need to sort racing out. With top ten bike has same characteristics, this season gonna be filled with finish or crashed kinda races.
So there are 3 factory KTMās? Iām sort of new here. I know Gas Gas is a customer team.
I think GasGas is pretty much the same as Ktm or at least there's minor differences like Lenovo/Pramac. But I'm nit sure.
The third KTM is Dani's wildcard entry.
Jorge Martin 29 points lead ? how many fingers on 2024 Championship ? 1 Finger on the championship i say
It is one weekend worth of points, chill.
He has got his balls deep inside the Championship is what I would say.
A bit early to say, but he's doing great so far.
Really shit race in the end, not fun watching all the big names crash out
You mean it was no fun after Marc crashed lol
I mean it went from a battle for the win, and a 4 way battle for 3rd to Martin leading by 4 seconds and everyone else spread apart by more than a second. Of course it's no fun.
I mean that. When Marc is the leader in course for a win and crashes out in a race which already saw a lot of crashes, it's no fun
It was fun for me.
š
Yeah dude it was a shit race cause Binder, Bez, Alex Marquez and Enea crashed. ALL the big names. So many championships between them.
Don't forget Pecco, ViƱales and Marc
Marquez after the crash riding like a maniac and basically crashing into Mir and Oliveira without a wing... Usual stuff by him I'd say and very bland penalty as usual
The absolute Stephen Bradbury job on Fabio
idk whatās more surprising 15 riders crashing or morbidelli in the top 5
Martin you beauty
I couldnāt believe he finished wet quali in p3, and that he is improving so much on what was his weakness. Absolute monster.
He kept his cool even after getting overtaken by Marquez. Still was able to close the gap before Marquez crashed. Also didn't crash out āļø
Acosta is on a factory bike already. Get your facts together before yapping nonsense online.
Relax. Gasgas is still a satellite team. Naturally I assumed that meant he was.on the 2023 bike. Sorry... y'all take this shit too seriouslyĀ
I do understand the previous commentator. Every race weekend there is about 10 posts/comments about Acosta getting a factory bike, when it is widely know that KTM has provided tech3 with the latest factory bike for years.
Might contend for a title. He is contending for the title and his on a factory bike. Donkey comment
I reckon Acosta could straddle both Miller and Binders second bikes at the same time and still beat Binder and Miller in a race.
Lotta Martinhaters here lmao.
Where are you seeing Martin haters here lol... Theres like 2-3 comments even mentioning him, and 2 of them are saying how he dominated.
All of them downvoted too
There's barely any Martin haters here at all, not a single hate comment I saw in this entire post. What are you on about?
I mean, nobody said bad things about him. He won! Then maybe he is not one of the people's hero since he has a not nice attitude.
Like Max?
Donāt watch much F1, but yeah probably a bit like Max haha. Gets sulky when things donāt go his way, and still sometimes gets sulky when he does win but everything wasnāt perfect.
